I have been waiting to try Ullsberger's all summer - so I am so glad they finally opened! This location is convenient and has a large lot shared with the plaza. The brewery is cozy, with about 20ish seats and it was pretty much filled when I went in. Luckily we were able to grab a spot and try some drinks! I got the Coconut Pete which is a cream ale. It was a pretty solid drink with notes of pineapple and coconut. I also snagged a sip of the stout which was also tasty. Super great drink going into winter! They have a nice selection of games to play while you hang out. Overall, solid little place. I'm excited to stop by again as they continue to add brews!

Board games and beer for the WIN!!

Ullsperger Brewing is our go-to place in St. Louis Park! We love the chill vibe, the variety of beers, snacks and meals from neighboring restaurants are welcome - great place to hang out, watch a game, or host a get together! The Beerista staff really know their stuff and are willing to talk beer with whoever comes in! They've also added coffee in the mornings - so far I've had the cold brew (excellent) and a latte (perfection) and will definitely swing through again for that. Highly recommend a visit if you haven't been before or it's been awhile - owner Dan is honing his craft and it's awesome. Oh - did I mention they have an arcade game and a ton of board games you can use for free? Kids and adults love it!!

    Testing all of their varieties!!

Yay!! I'm so excited this microbrewery opened in St Louis Park! We checked it out on their opening day and we were quite impressed! Nice space with good seating (only seats about 15). Friendly staff and good beers! I really enjoyed their blonde ale and IPA. We will be back!

Next I had the Home Run Haze, theirs was my least favorite of the four, I didn't care for the flavor, it wasn't bad just not my jam.

In fact a neighbor across from the patio was literally painting his white picket fence! So, it's a unique setup for a mpls brewery taproom from the start. I walked in and was assaulted by a sickeningly sweet smell. Not sure if that's them brewing up their beet beer (beet beer--WHY?!) We both ordered the Saison. It had decent belgian notes but it was half-flat and a little sweet for my taste. It's nice they have a patio but it's beset by constant traffic from 44th St on one side and a parking lot with porta pottys on the other. Not exactly getting any fresh air. Moreover, the seating at picnic tables and high tops with cheap un-cushioned bar stools felt pretty half assed but that went along with the overall theme. They allow outside food and had a food truck operating when we went there which was a plus. Ultimately neither one of us were thrilled with our first tap so we bailed. Can't speak on the entire tap line but unlikely we will come back unless our friends ask us to. So almost nearly there in every respect but not quite. 3.75/5 rounding up to 4.

It's definitely a hidden gem and the people there are fantastic! The atmosphere is a medieval theme - I read another review that noted it's like walking into Dracula's library which is a good description with the suits of armor, the book wall, etc.. There is a great selection of beer and beer BLENDS in addition to seasonal options. I HIGHLY recommend the White Chocolate Cranberry they have right now, the Black Forest is also a favorite of mine - so many options that are different than you'll find elsewhere. If you like dark/stouts, brown, light, IPA, red/amber, fruity, fancy, etc. there's something there for you to try. Get a flight - and note - you will want to keep trying the different flavors! They'll hold your card until you're done but that's more for their protection of the cool flight boards they have. They don't have a kitchen but they do have snacks for purchase and you can bring food in or they also have food trucks often. They also have plenty of fun events for the community - from vendor shows to book clubs, and other fun activities. Check them out on Facebook for updates!

Walking into the brew hall, we were immersed in medieval scenery with knight armor and weaponry positioned throughout brew hall. There was a really cool library with a wide assortment of books and some board games people could interact with. The vibes inside were very chill which was a huge plus. In terms of drinks, we were overwhelmed with how many options we could choose from and with how unique all of the flavors were. I decided to go with an 8 flight of beers as I couldn't narrow down a particular drink that caught my attention and thank goodness I went with that route. Out of the 8 beers I selected, I only truly liked 3 of the drinks. Some of the flavors I felt from the drinks that I didn't like reminded me of dish soap, sardines, and burnt wood (just to name a few). In terms of food, they had a food truck on site which had pretty good food and the overall staff were very nice. It's one of those places where I'm happy I came to experience the place, but isn't a top priority for me to make another visit.

I didn't see any N/A options besides water which is a bummer but I could have missed that. I believe they also had cider and some wine as well. To start you go up and receive a card that is attached to your tab. You then scan that card before pouring yourself a glass or tasting from the beer well and it automatically adds the pricing for the ounces you poured to your tab. The brewery itself is really spacious! Multiple levels, each with a different vibe which I love. When we were there there was live music on the top level and the lowest level was giving chill speakeasy vibes. They also have food options which is nice. We ordered the cookies with milk and they were warm and gooey but took quite a bit of time to come out. Definitely a place worth checking out!

I really enjoyed the tap wall gimmick, bc I could craft my own flight, get a little bit more of something, etc etc. I didn't love that of course I got a lot more foam that way, but their charging system seemed to account for that. I really liked the variety of glassware available at both tapwalls to facilitate tasters, tulip-poured beers, etc. There was even ice available to pair with the tap cocktails. I did not get pizza, but I sure wanted to based on the smells. This would be a great place to hold an event, and honestly pretty reasonably priced (especially during a well timed happy hour). OK, so why four stars? Bc they do one thing that I can't agree with -- adding mandatory service charges. So you walk in, get a card, and serve yourself the whole time. But, unless you check out in person and change it, you'll be charged a 20% tip. No. I agree with living wages, but in a restaurant where I as customer literally do everything, just pay your back of house staff, price it into the per ounce, and don't sneak nonsense into my tab. I profoundly object to a service charge when there is no service involved, and doubly to requiring it unless I want to wait in line for 10 minutes.
