Small brewery but love the vibe! It's perfect for this neighborhood. Nothing too fancy when you first walk in, but the beer was good and people were friendly! I'd go back to see if they explore new beer options.

Updated this review because now they have seltzer cocktails! Super fun! Still a great place for IPAs in the twin cities. Must see!

Finally made it over to Haggard today, Friday. Parking was easy in the lot. I entered @ 3:00 open and it was a good hour or so until the place began to fill up. Which was ideal for me, gave me a chance to chat up co-owner Gabe and co-owner/brewer Carl. First of all, Carl is a wealth of brewing knowledge and experience. Both men were absolutely delightful....off to a fantastic start. It's a small tap room. which I would consider quaint and intimate... I was able to chat them both up, behind he bar from my table. I inquired to the name Haggard? I liked the response and said I had noted the skate deck above the taps....later I noticed all the Thrasher magazine covers on the back wall. I like their decor of all the stickers on the fridge and a cooler. They had a shelf of some games and decks of cards under a counter of a water dispenser. There is only one standard height table. Considering it got to about 83 today, it stayed pleasantly comfortable w just the door open! Not that I ever don't drink beer @ a brewery but I liked that they had bottled pop options for those that partake; a great option. There are four different $1.00 sticker variations next to the ordering ipad, if stickers are your thing, they are mine! I tasted my way through the tap list... not a beer I had that I wouldn't order again!! Even the, not my preferred style but the very approachable Sword of 1,000 Trtuths IPA. Thanks for knocking my inaugural visit out of the park Haggard Barrel!! Everything was aces and I am already itching to come back!! I really enjoyed the Glonky variations... spoiler...surprise!! The banana was my favorite! The Glonky was Haggard's fifth beer brewed and.... they medal'ed w it!! Congratulations and it was definitely well deserved!! I don't feel I've wrote enough about how fantastic Haggard Barrel is....but words are failing me at the moment... I guess. But definitely put Haggard Barrel on your MUST visit. Your palate will thank you!! Cheers!

Good beer. The strawberry wheat was spectacular. I only stopped in to get some to go. Canning process is good and so was the recipe.

In fact a neighbor across from the patio was literally painting his white picket fence! So, it's a unique setup for a mpls brewery taproom from the start. I walked in and was assaulted by a sickeningly sweet smell. Not sure if that's them brewing up their beet beer (beet beer--WHY?!) We both ordered the Saison. It had decent belgian notes but it was half-flat and a little sweet for my taste. It's nice they have a patio but it's beset by constant traffic from 44th St on one side and a parking lot with porta pottys on the other. Not exactly getting any fresh air. Moreover, the seating at picnic tables and high tops with cheap un-cushioned bar stools felt pretty half assed but that went along with the overall theme. They allow outside food and had a food truck operating when we went there which was a plus. Ultimately neither one of us were thrilled with our first tap so we bailed. Can't speak on the entire tap line but unlikely we will come back unless our friends ask us to. So almost nearly there in every respect but not quite. 3.75/5 rounding up to 4.

Seriously, I've probably had everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. They have an extensive collection of beers that will please anybody, with some of the best Hazys and best Sours in town, and also cocktails that work for folks that don't want a beer. The patio is superb, and although you sometimes share it with a passing train, it's tucked away and is a nice separation from the business of the surrounding north loop. I'd argue the wings are easily top 3 in the whole state, they're always crispy, and the monthly specials are clearly thought over and iterated on by talented chefs that want to try new and unique things. The pizza is also probably the best Detroit style in the city, try the Elote and you'll see what I mean. Staff is a hoot, they're all super nice, great to talk to, and have honest opinions about their own menu. Seriously, if you're anywhere near the downtown area, go here.

I didn't see any N/A options besides water which is a bummer but I could have missed that. I believe they also had cider and some wine as well. To start you go up and receive a card that is attached to your tab. You then scan that card before pouring yourself a glass or tasting from the beer well and it automatically adds the pricing for the ounces you poured to your tab. The brewery itself is really spacious! Multiple levels, each with a different vibe which I love. When we were there there was live music on the top level and the lowest level was giving chill speakeasy vibes. They also have food options which is nice. We ordered the cookies with milk and they were warm and gooey but took quite a bit of time to come out. Definitely a place worth checking out!

The main floor has more of the classic bar and restaurant atmosphere, the upstairs patio is great during warmer weather, and the basement speakeasy adds a cozy and fun twist for a more laid-back hangout spot. The pizza we tried was delicious and paired perfectly with the beer selection. We will be coming back!
