Fun, laid back environment where people can hang out, relax and learn things. We went for a self defense class that took place in the back but also came with a drink. We hung out after the class was done but it was just a nice atmosphere and to know that they support cool learning opportunities is really great. They don't have a dedicated parking lot but there's metered street parking around the area and a parking ramp across the street. Service and staff were friendly. They don't serve food but usually have food trucks but there's lots of food halls or food offerings in the area. You can also bring your own food too which is a nice bonus.

So I only got to have one beer here, the place was packed on a Tuesday. Who would have thunk it. I really really liked the one beer I had false pattern hazy pale ale 5.5%, the hops were closer to west coast, but it was smooth, semi sweet and quite crushable. The place is huge. The music was loud and they are dog friendly. You have to order your drink by standing in line and then finding a seat. Didn't love the set up, but loved the beer. And the service was good.

Stopped in after a baseball game to grab a drink. There were several options to choose from on tap and we ordered quickly since it was close to closing time. The beer was nice and the space has plenty of seating

We got here around 5 on a Monday night before the twins game and had a table right away. It started filling up quickly after. The cocktails weren't bad, just not my taste. The beers were good. It does get pretty loud due to all the people and they also started trivia I believe, so it was loud as well. I've been to quite a few breweries and this one just didn't stick out to me. A fine place to go for a couple drinks before the game, but in the future I might go elsewhere!

We had a great time at modist. The service was friendly and prompt. We ordered the grape apes and it was very yummy. They had it on tap. The vibe inside was nice and there were a good amount of people there around 6 pm. There is a photo booth in the back near the bathrooms that is completely free- make sure to take advantage of such a fun perk!

    Lots of beer options!

Great beer for everyone! Need an IPA? A seltzer? A dark beer? A THC bevy? Look no farther than Modist Brewing. They have a small outdoor patio and a large indoor space. I went with a larger group, and though the bigger high-tops were all taken, we were able to push two four-tops together to make enough room. The place is super dog friendly. I was almost embarrassed to show up without a dog, because it seemed everyone had one. there is no kitchen, so you are welcome to bring in your own food (lots of places nearby to do takeout) or they usually have food truck out front. Bartenders were friendly and happy to give beer suggestions and to let us try sips before committing. A great brewery! no parking lot, so you will have to contend with metered street parking, or a ramp, and that can be dicey because it's so close to the Twins stadium. Be sure you check whether there is a game going on before you drive there.

This is a funky, cool brewery in the same area as a lot of funky breweries. I would definitely recommend stopping here! We tried some new beers, and some new (to us) THC seltzers. The brewery also featured a donut vending machine and a really fun photobooth. This felt like a really inclusive, safe bar.

Huge space, good selection. Outdoor patio. Alcohol, THC, donut vending machines. All they need is a shawarma booth to have all four food groups.

Super cute 90s vibes, very dog friendly, and a good time. Beers are super fresh and crisp! Great random / fun find

My boyfriend and I went here after a sunny Saturday run by the river and it was perfect. They had a fabulous selection of beers and I think I had one of the best beers I've had in the cities; the First Call (a coffee lager). It was still light and had very subtle but delicious undertones of coffee. The location in the heart of North Loop is hard to beat too

On Saturday afternoon we stopped in for a beer. There were a variety of people sitting at the tables talking. There was a small craft fair going on which I thought was interesting and unusual. We ordered a beer. Both my husband and I enjoyed what we chose. Service was quick and friendly. It wasn't overcrowded and there was a good variety of music playing. It was a great place to stop in and have a beer.

Stopped in Monday. My beertender was Val, who I remember from my last visit many moons ago, she was delightfully memorable though, and did a wonderful job describing each beer which steered me to each one. I tried the Fang & Bone, Danger Noodle, Honeycomb Catacomb and Gifts of the Sacred Father. All were delicious but the Honeycomb walked away my favorite and left me seriously debating ordering another one, but bigger than a taster pour!! Thanks Modist for always consistently having friendly, rad beertenders slanging your delicious beers in your spacious tap room!! Cheers

Great, innovative brews in a nice open taproom. They hold a lot of events and turned the back into a large space for markets and shows. The staff is always welcoming, friendly, and happy to chat. I've had a lot of their beers and the worst of them has still been pretty good. Their really dog and family friendly so bring everyone.

The patio is a huge highlight. It's spacious, well set up, and perfect for enjoying drinks outside, especially in the warmer months. There are games to play, plenty of seating, and a really fun, laid-back atmosphere that makes it easy to spend a few hours there without even realizing it. The food is also a standout, which isn't always the case at breweries. We especially love the pizza and the elote fries, both are consistently delicious and pair perfectly with their drinks. It's nice to have food options that go beyond the basics and actually feel like a reason to come back. The staff has always been super friendly and patient, even when it's busy, which we really appreciate. It makes the whole experience feel welcoming and easy. Inside, the space is just as great. There are two levels and games you can play, so there's plenty to do no matter the weather. Overall, this is one of our go-to spots and somewhere we find ourselves coming back to again and again.

However I do not like the parking whatsoever. If you're not lucky enough to get a spot by the entrance you'll have to park in the back..... I'm talking wayyyy back. And leave the cute shoes at-home, especially the heels, b/c back there is unpaved, dirt filled, uneven and creepy. Once inside it's no frills, but a nice venue. A real chill ambiance! If you're not in the mood for alcohol, there was a short list of NA beers, several soft drinks, and THC drinks. I got the Clausthaler Non-alcoholic beer in the IPA variety. They also had an original and grapefruit flavor. Mine was very tasty - not too hoppy and nor watered down. I'd get it again. As for food I didn't notice anything on the menu, but then again I wasn't really looking (hard). However, there was a food truck outside. Although my event was on the other end of the building, the noise from the main area definitely infiltrated. So, if you're coming to catch up with folks leave your inside voice at home. Anyway, based on the website, they host a variety of food trucks and events including a meat raffle. Since I've never been to one, it gives me reason to check out Utepils again and hopefully get a better parking spot.
