Very nice brewery close to all the action. We were heading to a show at the Filmore and had time to kill. I used my pub pass and got 2 beers for the price of 1, worth it. I got a Dreamyard for my first beer - classic, smooth and one of their best beers. I got the second one for my wife - First Call. It was a coffee lager, I hate coffee and she's not a beer drinker so it kind of went to waste. Oh well... This place is so clean and well kept, they do a great job. Great staff. Corey and Ash were personable and being out of towners, they gave us great recommendations. Loved loved loved the Blueberry blitz seltzer. It was refreshing. I also absolutely adored the rum barrel deepest depths stout. It was sweet and had a deep toasty note, so complex...so good! A few weeks ago there was an event sponsored by Graze, There was a fashion show involved on the Graze rooftop. Lots of vendors on site including my fave Angry Line Cook. I parked right by the brewery. They didn't care if you were using their bathroom. Lots of people in line getting drinks. I had no idea about the thc I was just looking for something fruity and fizzy and non-alcoholic. The bartender was explaining the drinks to me. I also explained to him that although I'm from the '70's I never smoked pot and don't drink. He got me a 5% solution of blood orange raspberry vanilla and told me to just take small sips. He gave me a glass of ice to go with it. I go to Runyon's and am waiting for wings. Back in the car, ice is melting, taking small sips, I still don't know how I got home. read more

I was a tourist in Minnesota this weekend and my friends brought me here! Awesome bar with a great selection of beers! The place also has really cool art, a bunch of decorative skateboards for sale. Fun, laid back environment where people can hang out, relax and learn things. We went for a self defense class that took place in the back but also came with a drink. We hung out after the class was done but it was just a nice atmosphere and to know that they support cool learning opportunities is really great. They don't have a dedicated parking lot but there's metered street parking around the area and a parking ramp across the street. Service and staff were friendly. They don't serve food but usually have food trucks but there's lots of food halls or food offerings in the area. You can also bring your own food too which is a nice bonus. read more

So I only got to have one beer here, the place was packed on a Tuesday. Who would have thunk it. I really really liked the one beer I had false pattern hazy pale ale 5.5%, the hops were closer to west coast, but it was smooth, semi sweet and quite crushable. The place is huge. The music was loud and they are dog friendly. You have to order your drink by standing in line and then finding a seat. Didn't love the set up, but loved the beer. We got here around 5 on a Monday night before the twins game and had a table right away. It started filling up quickly after. The cocktails weren't bad, just not my taste. The beers were good. It does get pretty loud due to all the people and they also started trivia I believe, so it was loud as well. I've been to quite a few breweries and this one just didn't stick out to me. A fine place to go for a couple drinks before the game, but in the future I might go elsewhere! read more

Arguably the best brewery in the twin cities. Love their brews ... especially their OG Supra and all of its subsequent variants. Their north loop location boasts a pup friendly patio and private events space. They often bring in inspired food trucks for noshing but Graze Food Hall and Bricksworth are literally next door so the food situation is covered too . read more

We had a great time at modist. The service was friendly and prompt. We ordered the grape apes and it was very yummy. They had it on tap. The vibe inside was nice and there were a good amount of people there around 6 pm. Great beer for everyone! Need an IPA? A seltzer? A dark beer? A THC bevy? Look no farther than Modist Brewing. They have a small outdoor patio and a large indoor space. I went with a larger group, and though the bigger high-tops were all taken, we were able to push two four-tops together to make enough room. The place is super dog friendly. I was almost embarrassed to show up without a dog, because it seemed everyone had one. there is no kitchen, so you are welcome to bring in your own food (lots of places nearby to do takeout) or they usually have food truck out front. Bartenders were friendly and happy to give beer suggestions and to let us try sips before committing. A great brewery! no parking lot, so you will have to contend with metered street parking, or a ramp, and that can be dicey because it's so close to the Twins stadium. The market was great and I got some goodies while sipping my mango smoothie (from a can) which was to die for. Dog friendly! Pin balls in the corner and a donut machine that was pretty sparse. The restrooms are all-gender which can be confusing for some folks but not if you read the signs and go in with an open mind. read more

This is a funky, cool brewery in the same area as a lot of funky breweries. I would definitely recommend stopping here! We tried some new beers, and some new (to us) THC seltzers. The brewery also featured a donut vending machine and a really fun photobooth. This felt like a really inclusive, safe bar. read more

I sadly only got one drink due to my limited time. I had free left. One of my ultimate big goals while I was visiting from out of state was to try a local brewery. This was one spot that a lot of people had mentioned to me. I ended up trying one of their loggers and it was super good. The worker at the front was super helpful and making sure that I picked what would best be something that I would enjoy, but also give me a bit of a taste of Minnesota. We hosted our college reunion banquet for ~150 people at Modist in the Warehouse and Teal Room, and it could not have been a better experience. Christy and Palma were excellent to work with. They were organized, responsive, and genuinely invested in making sure everything went smoothly. Drink selection was also great. The Teal Room had a private bar and bathrooms and gave us plenty of room to gather and mingle. The Warehouse provided a large open space for dinner and programming with a very unique industrial vibe. My boyfriend and I went here after a sunny Saturday run by the river and it was perfect. They had a fabulous selection of beers and I think I had one of the best beers I've had in the cities; the First Call (a coffee lager). Stopped in Monday. My beertender was Val, who I remember from my last visit many moons ago, she was delightfully memorable though, and did a wonderful job describing each beer which steered me to each one. I tried the Fang & Bone, Danger Noodle, Honeycomb Catacomb and Gifts of the Sacred Father. All were delicious but the Honeycomb walked away my favorite and left me seriously debating ordering another one, but bigger than a taster pour!! Great, innovative brews in a nice open taproom. They hold a lot of events and turned the back into a large space for markets and shows. The staff is always welcoming, friendly, and happy to chat. I've had a lot of their beers and the worst of them has still been pretty good. Their really dog and family friendly so bring everyone. read more

Great service at Modist. They had a pretty good amount of brews on tap when I visited. Probably around 20ish. I usually opt for the regular ipa but bartender told me to try the sour that they had freshly canned that morning. Glad I did, as it was a perfect combo of tart and sweet. The pub is fairly large with plenty of seating space along with outdoor seating which I assume is great in the summer around twins games (I visited in March). Didn't have space in my bags to grab anything to go but I'm sure I'll visit again next time I'm in town. read more

Had a fabulous evening in Modist's brand new event space with fantastic beer, food, and fun! The beer was spot on and paired expertly with the delicious food prepared by Guacaya. The space itself is colorful and large enough for a wedding and corporate events. There is a small sitting area provided by the venue upstairs, with a view of the brewing equipment and brewery. Came here on a Sunny Sunday afternoon and it was perfect! I love the big open space and the outdoor patio. Their beer selection is great I personally loved the coffee beer here, I have had others and this was by far my favorite out of the breweries I have been to. You have to try their THC seltzers! They were so flavorful and of course a great but subtle buzz after is what we are looking for! I loved their merch as well, very trendy and comfortable. I like that they don't look like brewery merch from far away. The bartenders were really nice and helpful when we asked questions about some of the beers on tap. They also have a FREE photo-booth near the bathrooms which prints out 2 copies of your photos. This is unheard of in NYC so please take advantage of a nice memory moment! Modist Brewing was the perfect stop on our way to the Twins game last Saturday, 9/28. It was busy but not overcrowded as the indoor space is big with a good sized outdoor area as well. There was a DJ playing some general house music, not too heavy with a vibey touch, that really set the mood and atmosphere. Modist has a great beer selection, but my favorite are their THC seltzers. Best in the city in my opinion. The space is a bit cold feeling, but that's typical of a brewery. I do like that you can bring your own food, and sometimes they have a food truck scheduled for the night. read more

I had been meaning to make it to @modistbrewing to get a taste of some ol' midwest tater tot hotdish, and at the same time found a couple more beers to try! Modist is located in a 'happening' part of town with Graze, Target Field, many other breweries (Fulton, Indeed, Number 12, Stormking, and others), and some of the best restaurants in the Twin Cities. Whether just looking for a pre-Twins game libation or looking for a beer with friends, Modist is always a great choice. Tater Tot Hotdish: A Double Dry Hopped Double IPA made in collaboration with Other Half. It has whirlpool hop additions of Cryo Citra, Idaho 7, and Motueka, DDH of HBC586, Strata, and Nelson Sauvin, and malt bill of 2-Row, Malted Wheat, Malted Oats, Pale Ale, Flaked Oats, and Flaked Rye. Needless to say - complex. Hop bitterness is balanced by a fruitiness of tangerine / orange with mild hints of guava. Malt body rises on finish with toasted bread qualities, but gives way to orange juice flavors. Between the Times: Imperial Porter in collaboration with Modist Maker Kurt Waltenbaugh. Malt bill of Pale Ale, Brown Malt, Heritage Crystal, and Chocolate Malt. The beer was conditioned on Ceylon Cinnamon, Hazelnuts, and Ghana Cocoa Nibs. Delectable treat of a beer with dark chocolate notes competing with a large nuttiness from the hazelnuts that creates an enjoyable complex Porter. Wasteland: A Double Dry Hopped Rye IPA with Malted Rye, Red X Malt, Red Crystal Rye malt bill. Hopped & Double Dry Hopped with Columbus Cryo and Centennial. Medium-high bitterness, medium spiciness from usage of rye, and medium resin aroma / flavor. Completely different from Tater Tot Hotdish and shows Modist's range in the IPA game. read more
