Pryes is hands down our favorite brewery in Minnesota! It's one of those places that works for just about any occasion, whether you're meeting friends, spending time with family, or just looking for a fun and relaxed place to hang out. The patio is a huge highlight. It's spacious, well set up, and perfect for enjoying drinks outside, especially in the warmer months. There are games to play, plenty of seating, and a really fun, laid-back atmosphere that makes it easy to spend a few hours there without even realizing it. The food is also a standout, which isn't always the case at breweries. We especially love the pizza and the elote fries, both are consistently delicious and pair perfectly with their drinks. It's nice to have food options that go beyond the basics and actually feel like a reason to come back. The staff has always been super friendly and patient, even when it's busy, which we really appreciate. It makes the whole experience feel welcoming and easy. Inside, the space is just as great. There are two levels and games you can play, so there's plenty to do no matter the weather. We enjoy that there's a variety of beers whether seltzer, sours, dark, or light everyone can always find something to drink. I enjoy that there's always a variety of events here as well and so there's always something to do. We've been here for Pryes Fest, for concerts, Oktoberfest, and many more in between. One thing I do wish is they had more games available to play with friends. I really enjoy their blueberry sour and they're Dublin dry stout. If I lived in the area, I come back to Pryes again and again. They have a huge patio area which makes this a great option to sit outside and enjoy some drinks. They also have food- do yourself a favor and order the elote fries. So good. As for the beer, they have a variety of options. Stopped here recently with friends and this was our second time visiting, last time was many, many years ago! Space was just as I remembered it but huge! Plenty of social gatherings going on with plenty of space to choose from. Their draft selection is overwhelming so we did two flights to try a bunch, all pretty good! Staff were friendly and even helped convert a nearly 10yo gift card to their new system so we'll be back to use that up. I do wish they had more vegan options for food. They upcharge $4.50 for vegan cheese on pizza and don't really have much else for sides or dipping sauces. The pizza was delicious though but small for $20. read more

One of the best patios in the Cities! A great location and good beer, what else is there to love? While there is technically a parking lot nearby this spot, it is shared with Minneapolis Bouldering Project, and can often get quite full. The space inside is large but they also have a sizeable patio during the warm weather. Indoor yard games, tables, and loft seating make this spot a great location for small or large groups! Order at the bar, and enjoy the brew anywhere you'd like! The beertenders have always been friendly and accommodating during my visits. The beer is great! Gorgeous brewery! I attended a private event here and will have to go back since it was a great experience. They have a large beer hall with intimate lighting for a cozy date night. I had one of their sours and really enjoyed the tangy flavor. I also shared some of their food offerings. The wood fire pizza was tasty though I would have liked it cooked a little longer. The pretzel is an appetizer to share with a friend or two. It is quite large and also a good beer pairing. The dipping sauce options were mild but added to the flavor. Came here for trivia with some friends. It's a nice spot for trivia and I like that you can order from your table. My friend got the pepperoni pizza, which looked good. I got the waffle fries with seasoned sour cream and cheese sauce. The fries were really good and the cheese sauce is a queso, which is pretty good. The seasoned sour cream was awful, I am not sure what it is but it doesn't taste like seasoned sour cream at all. I wouldn't recommend. read more

This is a great brewery with a lot of different options, a lot of indoor seating and some very good food for a brewery. We had the cheesy garlic bread, which was more of a pizza without the red sauce, and it was very delicious. When you order online at the table, the service is pretty fast. Keep in mind there is a mandatory service charge. This place does get pretty busy so parking can be a little difficult to find after 6 PM or so. read more

The worst is walking up to a brewery, wanting to sit outside, and realizing there's no seating but that's definitely not the case at Pryes! They've got an incredible outdoor space with plenty of large tables for groups big and small, plus it's dog-friendly which is always a win. We loved the beer, tried the Northern Tropic and Ocean Glow, and both were delicious. The pizza, on the other hand, didn't really hit for us. It tasted pretty basic with limited flavor and honestly not worth the price. Service was super quick though, which we appreciated! Review heavily influenced by food. I paid an extra $9.5 for gluten-free crust on a personal pizza. So my vegetarian pizza was $25 before tip. The Margherita pizza advertised burrata and I can't be positive, but I am almost positive that the cheese was not burrito. The cheese and basil quantity was extremely low. Generally this tasted good though! Twice, I've had folks in my group on separate occasions order a pizza that advertised having arugula on it but it came with spinach. This is a shocking difference. So I'm not sure if the menu is outdated or this spot was always lying about their menu, but this was an odd experience that warrants 3 stars. I visited Pryes Brewery on a Thursday evening, the space is great for gatherings of all sizes. They have a parking lot, but it was full and street parking was scarce because of the River rats show. I liked the concept of being able to use a QR code attached to your table to order food and drinks, it was fairly quick and I was able to keep hanging out instead of waisting time standing in line. This was a cool place to hang out at. I came here with a group of us from Hawaii. We were in town for a conference and decided to do some group activity such as "feather bowling". I had no idea nor have I ever heard of the game. Once we figured it out, it was pretty fun. I was full from our dinner so I didn't get to try any of their food. I did, however, try their bite sized donut. It was warm and delicious! Their beers aren't too bad either. I couldn't decide what I wanted to get so our server brought me out a flight based on my taste palate. If I'm not sipping on bourbon, I'm drinking gin and tonic. He suggested the fruitier brews and a seltzer. Their seltzer had no taste, in my opinion so I opted for this light fruitier beer. I cannot remember the name of it. Overall, this is a nice gathering place. The scene isn't too loud and its spacious. Their food looked delicious and their beer was thirst quenching. I was at Pryes Brewing for a short period a couple weekends ago and got a couple small pours. I learned while there that they offer different vintage pours of their famous Imperial Stout, Lost Moon. It was tough to pick which vintage (barrel aged or non barrel aged as well), but I settled on the oldest one to try out what proper aging does to the beer. Barrel Aged Lost Moon (2020): An Imperial Stout aged in Bourbon Barrels and then laid to rest outside of the barrel since 2020. Body has thinned slightly, but still nice chocolate malt, roast, and a hint of vanilla barrel character. Monkey Bar: An Imperial Stout with Banana, Peanut Butter, Chocolate, and Marshmallow. Pryes Brewing was an excellent change of pace for Steve and myself. We get a lot of IPA'S and unfortunately we wind up getting bored with some of them. We have had plenty of New England, East Coast and West Coast IPA'S but I never had a Midwest IPA before and I loved it. For this beer they used hops from the west Coast and malts from the east coast. This made a toned down and pleasantly smooth IPA that I felt was unique, memorable and enjoyable. Flavors to be on the lookout for with this lovely beer are hoppy, malty and sweet. The beer is very smooth and light bodied which I often have said and sought out many times before with our brewery adventures. read more

For the beer I had the Pilsner that they brew, it was light and in my opinion pretty good. We had gotten some pupus but unfortunately I wasn't hungry and didn't have any. The ambiance here is nice, open and airy. The staff seemed very helpful as they had to kind of give us the rundown on how to play Feather Bowling. It's kind of like bocce if you've ever played. Fun fact - my husband and I had our first date at Pryes Brewing and later got engaged there! We have visited many time, the most recent being this previous Saturday for a drink with a few friends. We do appreciate their large selections for drinks, catering to those who are GF as we all those seeking NA options. The outdoor seating is always plenty, although less used during cold seasons. One thing that always happens is upon walking inside, there are a couple tables in the area people line up to order. So every time, you find people in one or two long lines waiting when there are staff just waiting and sitting around, not wanting to stand between the tables to order at the other stations. And I have never seen staff wave or call people over, instead standing around chatting or on their phones. They have expanded their space since we started coming, we often see couples, families, friends, and more using the space which is lovely. One thing that is a drawback that prevents us from visiting sometimes, is the parking. If you are trying to attend an event at Pyres, you will very well not find a parking spot unless you circle for an hour or park far away. Putting lines on the street parking along the curbs would be very helpful to maximize parking spots. Pros are for sure their large selection of drinks, they allow doggies (outside only I think), their location right off the Mississippi river, the space, the environment that is appropriate for families to first dates, and that they have lots of seating and food. Cons are the parking and long lines. Recommend to check it out (not during an event for the first time unless you Uber/Lyft). read more

Pryes Brewing is a great melding of excellent brews, good food, and cozy seating. We grabbed a table upstairs and used the QR code at the table to order drinks and food (multiple times). The Blood Orange Miraculum brew was a favorite. The subtle blood orange taste was enhanced by the malt of the beer. Lost Moon- a Russian Imperial Stout was another standout for a chilly March evening. All the brewery menu items were tasty- from the soft pretzel to the wings and waffle fries. The wings had a tasty dry rub and the pretzel was a favorite. We also sampled three of the wood fired pizzas. The Margherita was a classic that did not disappoint.
