My buddy and I were at Grillfest in St Paul at CHS field and we saw this brewery across the street and decided to give a new one I haven't tried a listen. We entered and it is a smallish brew room, but they have a good selection of beers. i ordered the IPA from the super friendly bartender. We sipped our beers in the quaint establishment and the IPA was sweet, yet hoppy flavor. Everyone inside the brewery running it was A+. Stopped in to this spot on a Saturday afternoon for a quick pint and board game! Some street parking available nearby! The space itself is unique, with a mixture of exposed brewing equipment and homey art and decor. There is space for small to medium groups, and some seats up at the bar for others. We didn't interact much with staff, except for quickly ordering the beer. The tap list was small, which is uncharacteristic for breweries in the Cities, but we both found drinks that we enjoyed. This Brewery was not on my bucket list but I came here for a meeting with a bunch of people for a group that I was showing up for. This place had a sour like a drink that I was quite a fan of. The prices here are actually really fair for what they are worth on top of the owners being really friendly. It's even right next door to a baseball stadium too that gets a lot of attention and it's the Rave of St Paul . They even had a jazz concert going on in the basement too which I was not expecting in this establishment. Overall, I had a really great time here and I would love to come back to this brewery again . I did have a hard time exactly finding this building at first of walking in. Expect long waits to the restroom if this place is crowded. Drink selection in my opinion was pretty minimal but overall my experience here was exceptional read more

We are always in this area for events and have walked by thinking about doing a flight of beers. We made it finally. This brewery is behind the Bullvino restaurant, they share a door to the restaurant. If you're waiting for a table, yall can hangout at the bar or brewery. Otherwise to access the brewery from the other side of the building and down the hallway. We ordered a flight each and a snack box to nibble on. Went to check it out. Had a Groupon for 2 flights & 2 pints. The bartender was sitting at a table looking at his phone most of the time we were there. We sampled most of the selections. I just heard about this new Lowertown brewery that donates money to local music programs for youth. Perfect location for anyone in the downtown area or traveling in for the evening. I can already see stopping in here before a Saints game. The place is brand new and so nice inside. The staff are incredibly friendly and very informative of their beers. I normally don't love sours but their Jam Session Sour is absolutely delicious. It has pineapple-guava-and something else, perfect balance of fruit and beer. They explained that it's because of the specific starter that they use which produces a much less acidic beer. I also loved the Two-Pac west coast IPA and not just because of my roots. It's an excellent IPA. We had 2 flights to try pretty much everything and then settled on a couple pints to have while watching the Wild play. There was a food truck parked out front, The Angry Line Cook on the night I went. Apparently downstairs they have event space. This place is just awesome and well worth coming into Lowertown for. read more

Gold Coat Mexican Lager, Hazy IPA, Milk Stout. That's just a small list of various tap beers they serve. So first I ordered the stout. It was refreshing. Then I ordered tap beer flights. The flights selection were memorable because not only were the flight names creative and relatable, but they were tasty and totally worth it. They are not stingy with their beer flight sizes either. I love the decor, ambiance and jazzy vibe. Upstairs is more of brewery vibe, where as downstairs is where you can here live jazz music. During the latter part of the visit, their was an up right base. The up right base is one of my fave instruments. It made pleasant sound and complemented the piano and drums. read more

it's a brewery and more. The beer is quite delicious- the Christmas beer was a strong Belgian. despite the high ABV it did not taste super syrupy as so many attempts at this style do. On the other end of the alcohol range, the wit was crisp with the right amount of spice. BUT there is more- the music! I was there on a Sunday and listened to a delightful quartet playing Argentinian tango music. The dance floor was full, but not over crowded. We watched and listened- perfect balance to crappy afternoon. And best of all- it is a public benefit corp that puts money towards helping kids learn music. Love this place!! read more

We stumbled across this brewery after leaving the GLOW light festival and what a cozy spot this is. It wasn't super busy, although the Brazilian steakhouse next door had a full house. They had a small selection of beers and a few non-alcoholic options available. We tried the 3Leches kombucha, which was sooooooooo yummy! I tried the raspberry guava flavor which was really sweet, but so smooth. We also tried a beer that is closest to a stout and surprisingly it was tasty. It had cholocately notes and even a little sweetness. My favorite part of this visit was the service. They were so neighborly and kind. They also shared so many cool things about St. Paul and made tons of recommendations for places to eat, things to see, and what to do. I'd go back just to hang into this cozy spot and sip on a delightful drink. If you're in the area, check them out! You won't be disappointed. read more

As I walked past Grillfest in CHS Field, I went into the building across the street to try a couple beers from @metronomebrewery. They kindly hosted the MN Home Brewers Association (@mnhomebrewers ) to show us the brewery and its history, the basement event space, and spend some time hanging with those that also enjoy brewing beer. Not only is the brewery and event space inviting and enjoyable, they also have an altruistic mission. Straight from their website (I can't say it any better): "we have a unique mission: use this platform to help Nurture Outstanding Music Education. That means our proceeds go to funding musical instruments, lessons, and education for underprivileged youth in the Twin Cities Metro Area." While there I had two of their beers. Maibock: A traditional German Maibock, it had medium-low hop character with medium malt of toasted bread. Its pale body should not fool you - it was packed with well-balanced malty / hoppy flavors and aroma. Two-Pac West Coast IPA: Another classic, this West Coast IPA had a big and bold hopiness that expressed itself everywhere from the smell to the taste. High bitterness with citrus and piney notes, the citrus being the more prevalent of the two. read more

What an atmosphere! The perfect amount of lighting for a moody jazz club but enough strategically placed lighting to see everything you need to clearly. It's the little things for me. I will tell you the truth I am not a natural beer drinker. I am extremely particular BUT this place has so much to offer when it comes to selection and great taste. I actually enjoyed their beer which almost never happens for me. Even if you are a fru fru drinker like me you have a shot of beer happiness here. We ended up on Thursday the 23rd here and the place is fantastic. We tried to order several things but we were told due to saint paddy's they were out of things. That was totally cook the man at the register was extremely nice and polite and explained the situation. I ordered a beer and kambucha and a pizza. We made our way down stairs to a fabulous cozy room where the comedians were performing. Our pizza was brought to our table and it was was hot. The comedians was funny and we enjoyed the show. We checked out this brewery because they had the Angry Line Cook StP food truck. I'm glad we came because this is such a great addition to downtown St.Paul. They were out of seltzers, but staff had me try the Jam Session Sour. I'm not a beer lover, but it was so good. It had a crisp flavor and none of the after taste of beer/hops. My partner had two different brews which were both refreshing and flavorful. The brewery vibe is welcoming and they have so much natural light. They have a nice mix of large tables, bar seating and more intimate 2-4 person seating. They allow food to be brought in and have QR codes on tables for local eats around the brewery. Staff was knowledgeable, helpful, and very friendly. One side of the brewery looks into a Brazilian steakhouse. The only minor downfall was finding the entrance based on Google directions. The entrance is on the east side of the building facing the Saints stadium. We definitely will be back to try the seltzer and listen to the live music. I would highly recommend this place to get together with friends, have a relaxing date night, or catch a brew before an event downtown St.Paul. it's easily accessible by light rail. read more

No doubt this place won't be wildly successful being directly across from CHS field, but the beer and vibe is definitely there. The owners created it for a cause to allow any kid from any background the chance to play music, but didn't mention how the proceeds work or the organization(s) they work with, so that was confusing, but I hope they follow through with that, because anything with a good business model for a good cause is something I stand behind. Beers we had, (started with IPA obviously because it's my fav) -Two-pac west coast IPA - husband loved. Thought it was pretty decent -Squeeze play east coast IPA - if I hadn't eaten dinner before, I would have drank this all night. Delish Flight of: -Jam session POG - no thanks. Not a sour fan but I love POG juice and didn't get the flavor here -Coffee stout - went down real smooth! -Melodious Belgium- yum! I love Belgium beers and they did a great job with this one. -Acoustic EPA - YES! Their best one for sure. Two friendly owners with a great jazz band greeted us on the evening we visited this brewery, preThanksgiving week. They had a decent variety of beers, but their dark beer selection was limited and so was many other local craft breweries in the Twin Cities. We were happy with our order of the samplers though. A little taste of everything while we enjoy the live band music and another Vikings game on the tv screen. They also have seltzers for those who did not want beer. I ordered the raspberry one for my mother in law and she liked it. I loved their Witbier the best because of the malty taste of Belgian ales and their doppebach was so tasty and flavorful. This a great brewery for when your going to a Saints game or going out to eat near the St Paul farmers market. They have a great selection of beers and a couple seltzers. Stopped in yesterday @ noon open...greeted by brewer, Kevn! It was early so I was the only customer, which gave me a chance to chat up the staff... I always enjoy that.....and to my luck, staff was.... owner Matt, brewer Kevin & beertender Chanel. All three are just....lovely!! I really like the space!! You'll notice & be drawn to the mosaic logo on the wall! I like that the "brewhouse" is right there behind the bar!! I like seeing where the Magic Juice that ends up in my glass gets it's start! I only had a small flight yesterday but I intend to be back next week to enjoy delicious full pours in between some more great conversation!! What a great brewery! We stopped by before a Saints game for a few drinks and some snacks and were not disappointed! It's literally across the street from the St. Paul Saints field so you really can't beat the location. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable, helping each of us pick out a different drink that suited our needs. It was busy but not so busy that we couldn't get a couple drinks a half hour before game time - such a nice change of pace from places in downtown Minneapolis! It looks like they do a lot of giving back to the community (specifically the arts - which I am a big fan of), have live music and events throughout the week! We will definitely be back to check all of those things out. Since we had given ourselves such little time we were only able to try the 'NOME Nosh Box - Charcuterie which honestly was such a reasonable price for the amount of food you got! (Unlike other breweries we've been through who charge the same and give you half the amount!) We will be back to have some pizza or take out from restaurants around the area. Perfect spot for a beer right across from the Saint's stadium! They had live music too which was so nice. They had little snack deals (like charcuterie board items) for sale, but nothing filling so if you're looking for lunch or dinner you can bring in food from other places. Hope this brewery is able to be successful in this location. Right across the street from CHS Field, but sort of hidden in plain view. Cool space that lets in a lot of natural light. A large variety of beers and styles on tap at a given time. I enjoyed the more variety than many IPA-heavy tap lists. Overall I found it's flavor to be balanced and even enjoyed the after taste which is sometimes an issue for me. The decor is pretty simple. The furniture is comfortable. They encourage you to bring in takeout from the many local restaurants. A food truck was outside when we came which made for super easy ordering. This place is tucked away off the beaten path. Like most places in the downtown area of St Paul, you'll need to find and pay for parking unless you use public transit or taxi. We decided to stop here on a Friday evening with our 2 kiddos. This place is GORGEOUS inside. The brick, beautiful wood tables, amazing booths. It's open and stunning. The huge windows let in so much light. It's very kid friendly. I saw in a corner, they had a stack of high chairs. We opted to share a flight to try it out and they were all fabulous. Two visits here. First one was just meh as I had a great barkeep help me with crowlers despite the manager(?) mansplaining everything to her or correcting her when she either knew and explained it to me or was actually correct. I had both IPAs and they were not bad but not memorable either. Second visit sat at the bar with a friend and had a solid experience. You know how it is when you find a new brewery? The location and ambiance can be good- but the beer/ not so much...Well, trust me when you walk into this brewery, you will be delighted! The beer options were really great and the flights were good sized glasses. I am sad to report that Bill, the guy who books and handles music in Fingal's Cave, is disrespectful and quick to hostility. We were helping a friend by "opening" for his show. Bill apparantly was unaware, in spight of several emails that informed him. He was very rude and treated us as if we were the problem, to the point of shoving my husband, who's hand were full of instruments at the time, because I told him that he could have been nicer to us (while he was at the door collecting cover fees). No matter who you are or what you are going through, you don't get to treat people that way. Bill is a jerk and his behavior was inexcusable. read more

Great place in st paul. The beer was great. Tried a Brown and IPA and both were really good. Love the fact that they donate proceeds to youth music and have all sorts of live music throughout the month. NOTE: it is a little confusing to get to in that you have to walk through the Brazilian Steakhouse to go to it, but the confusion is well worth it for the great beer and environment. read more
