Visited 10/4/26. Made a reservation in advance and were seated right away. Things definitely were a bit slower (coffee drinks) for being not too busy when we came in but they may have been more short staffed on this occasion. Drinks were delicious and I loved the variety of coffee drinks that they had! I got the breakfast burrito which has turkey sausage, eggs, cheese, potatoes, and salsa. It was very good and filling-my only slight qualm was that the cheese sauce on top was very heavy and if I had known how much was on it I would've asked for it on the side. Definitely a great brunch option though.
Went to A-Side Public house for the first time and was overall impressed. The food was very well made and definitely made with love. Our server was friendly, but it took a moment for them to get around to us - it seemed that there was only 2 of them working during a pretty busy week day night. Overall vibe of the restaurant is great. It's an old fire station, which I found to be pretty neat. If you're looking for somewhere new for dinner that has a cool vibe with open garage doors - A-Side Public House is a good place to go!

Been wanting to check this place out here in St. Paul and compare it with the Chicago Fire House Restaurant in Chicago (which I really love!). Ambiance was a bit lacking...could use more fire station charm or memorbilia. Space felt more like an open cafeteria in the main dining area. I think if they amped up in decor, this place could really spark. Service was good! Our food was delicious! Had the burgers, hummus, fries, beer and a Tom Collins.
I made a reservation at this neighborhood spot on a weekend morning for brunch. Beautiful place to stop on a nice summer day when the wall opens up to the sidewalk patio! It's a charming setup and was understandably packed! We ordered an Iced Chai, an Espresso Martini, the Nashville Hot Chicken, and a savory waffle I no longer see on their menu. Despite how busy it was and their staffing issues, the food did not seem rushed! The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, great flavors! My partner's savory waffle was super balanced and pleasant on the palette between texture & flavor! He enjoyed his chai and I haven't met an espresso martini I didn't like! Easy residential St. Paul street parking. NOTE: They were definitely understaffed. I saw one server, a runner, and a bartender. We ordered our drinks. My partners chai came out and after he finished it 30 mins later, I asked again about my drink respectfully (which I never usually do). Initially the server seemed upset, but then noticed it had been quite a while and apologized & comped it. Definitely not necessary, I saw how understaffed they were, just wanted to check it wasn't forgetting in the rush, but good customer service!
On a warm day, great outdoor space & w/ doors open, very nice atmosphere. Service was good but we had barely started our appetizers when entrees came out. Not crowded so I wish wait staff could pace the service a bit better. Delicious food & drinks!
The food was amazing. There were gluten free options that were as good as the regular food. We ate on the patio with Bradbury (our dog). They were welcoming and provided water. This was one of the best dining experiences we have had in a while.
First time at a-side and it's a really cool space that was once a fire house. Got the hot honey chai which was delicious, though it took a while to be dropped off. Very warm and comforting and the spice from the chai itself and the slight heat from the cayenne was great. The shirred eggs were super filling and very yummy. The creaminess and cheesiness of the eggs on the crunchy, thickly sliced toast was excellent. I put the greens on the bread since I don't like bitter greens and it tasted good together. There was also a lot of prosciutto lining the bottom of the bowl, I didn't feel like it was skimped on. I did want a waffle but was disappointed to learn they don't do side orders. I wish more breakfast/brunch places offered their sweet items as side orders.

This is a friendly neighborhood place where the vibe is casual and laid back. It was so nice to walk to dinner from a couple blocks away (we had an air bnb). The restaurant is a former fire station so there's a certain charm to the restored building. Service overall was good but my one critique is timing. We waited quite a while before our drink order was taken and then another long pause before our food order. A lot of waiting in between. Waiting aside, we enjoyed the dinner spread. The curried vegetable dumplings are certainly unique but delicious. A little pricey for only 4 dumplings. The pear and prosciutto flatbread is large enough to share - could be substantial enough as a main entree. The bulgogi bowl is a nice interpretation - the beef is a bit tough and chewy but maybe I got more rough meat than is typical? The kimchi is delicious. The pan seared branzino is generously sized with lots of veggies. I am looking forward to trying other menu items next time!
VIBES! They were immaculate. Perfect place to warm up on a chilly cloudy morning with brunch. I had the shirred eggs, and Michaela had the french onion soup, meaning we had matching crocs. Probably took 40+ minutes to get food, and longer than normal for drinks to come throughout the time too. It could have been a lower-staffed day but that was just our experience! I had the sausage biscuit sandwich and it was extremely good. Housemade (it appeared) sausage, biscuits and jam. Seriously good. The French fries were killer too. Some in my group were sad there weren't more "lunch" items. The spicy bloody Mary was good, the regular was meh. Prices were high but fair for the ambiance. Parking was a little confusing - there is some street and maybe additional? Maybe worth a stop not during brunch - and get a reservation!
What a darling little restaurant/brewery, w/plenty of indoor seating and a solid amount of outdoor seating. Choose strategically if you can, the sun is relentless. From firehouse to public house (vibes for sure) -- this is such a cute place to have drinks and a meal. Brunch? Date spot? Quick bite? Doesn't matter, just come and enjoy it! The food is absolutely delicious. I legitimately dream of the veggie dumplings. The most delicious falafel-like balls in a curried sauce. If you like Indian food, this is solid! As your friendly Indian Yelper, this gets all of my stamps of approval. The burrata? Fire. Solid selection of drinks. Also, $4 shot for happy hour? Sign me up. How often are you asked if the food is good right as you take a bite? Madeline was the first person in the history of servers to not do this! Wow! Thank you for that impeccable timing. Absolutely coming back whenever I visit. 10/10.
A side is increíble! I love coming here for the vibe of the restaurant and quality of the food! The chicken dish, I can't remember what it's called is sooooooo good!! It's incredibly comforting and just hits the spot if you're looking for a rich meal!! The ribeye is incredible, honestly all the food I e had here is great! They have an outdoor dining area and they open up the garage doors on nice days! The service is great! Everyone is so nice and gives great suggestions on the different drinks and food. read more
After driving by this place all the time, we knew we needed to give it a try! Unfortunately this place just didn't do anything for us. There is free street parking around this place. The hostess was nice and sat us right away. This place does get busy, so I would recommend a reservation! The first thing we noticed was that there wasn't anything to notice... no decor... no character... it honestly felt like a chipotle with nothing... just plain walls. Our server was nice but MIA for most of our time there. When she did stop, it was very quick. It did not feel personable. The food: the waitress said she would bring things out as they were done but ended up bringing everything at once... the mocktail pineapple, coconut refresher was not worth it. You could not taste any type of coconut and it seemed very ginger heavy. The baguette with butter came out, almost burnt, and was very hard to eat. The wings had good flavor, but were small and dry. My boyfriend did really enjoy his burger (Justine's burger) and said that it had great flavors. I did try his fries and those were some of the best fries I've had in the Twin Cities! The muscles were just OK. The sauce seemed like it needed more flavor. At the end, we got the Affogato. Delicious brunch spot with a cute interior. There is outdoor seating which is nice on a warm sunny day. We had a reservation at ~09:45am, and the restaurant was decently busy. There were still some empty seats around, so perhaps the earlier the better. The Tiramisu Cold Press was pretty good. I didn't think it was anything special though since it didn't seem to give the "wow" factor that would make me want to come back just to have it. Biscuits and Gravy were okay too. The gravy was delicious, but same sentiment as the Tiramisu Cold Press in which I didn't feel like it was anything too special. It is still good, and a beautiful brunch spot to catch up with friends Service was alright. Our server was nice! Though we were a bit confused since we had like 2-3 people asking to take our order? And towards the end I had asked for a to-go box and wasn't brought one, until another server asked if we wanted the check and I had to ask again for a to-go box. I've been to A-Side a few times now & I really like it. It's a solid spot for fresh homemade tasting meals. Pictured is their Dip Duo hummus plate + aperol spritz. I forgot to take a picture of the rest of our food, but I love me their Justine Special Burger, it just hits the spot. It's a very laid back + airy spot. Weather permitting, their large doors are wide open, creating an open air restaurant plus that blends with their patio space. Service has always been good, staff all seem very laid back and friendly :) read more

Came for Father's Day brunch Loved the vibe here . Such a neat idea to turn an old firehouse into a full service restaurant They were very busy this day so getting seated took a little bit past our reservation but no big deal Egg Sandwich- this was delicious and served with hashbrowns- the potatoes were under seasoned but nothing that hot sauce couldn't fix Shirred Eggs- unfortunately these definitely came out overcooked and I think it was because they were very busy that day Burger Franco-Américain Décadent,- hubby said it was good but too messy to eat! Specialty coffees were great Service was just okay- again probably understaffed on a busy occasion If I'm over on this side of St. Paul again would try the patio for drinks read more

Wow... we've never been here before but loved literally everything about our experience...well except for how noisy it was inside. If it hadn't been just the two of us it would have been very difficult to hear and communicate. Otherwise the prices matched what we ordered, everything was delicious, food came out quick and service was excellent. Can't wait to go back! read more

Cute spot in St.Paul; very modern decor and it looks like it used to be a fire station. It took me a while to pick something I wanted of the menu hit the mussels were good; although I wish they served this dish with fries, I didn't want to spend another $10 to add fries. The drinks were expensive, $16-18 for cocktails and $12 for cocktails; quite frankly outrageous to charge $12 for juice. I would not go out of my way to come back but did enjoy my time here. read more
I drive by this place all the time and finally had the urge to pop in for a little Sunday brunch! A-Side is adorable. It's got modern cottage-like charm to it and I love the big fire station doors. Perfect place to relax on a weekend morning. We sat down and instantly found a bunch of little notes rolled up and stuck into crevices in the brick wall. I loved this and of course had to leave my mark! (Bonus points if you can find it). We ordered a burger, coffee, and a breakfast sandwich. My companion let me know that the burger was good, while I enjoyed the breakfast sandwich along with my giant portion of hash browns. We were hoping to interact with our server a bit more but she seemed a bit reserved or maybe she was new. Regardless, the experience was solid. Something in me wishes there was something really pulling me in or leaving me wanting to come back, but it was unremarkable for the most part. Make sure you make a reservation before going because they get busy. Inside is on the louder side and tables are fairly close together but didn't bother us. The Benedict was good, sauce was a bit too heavy for me. The English muffin was nicely toasted. Hash browns were gross! No salt or flavor, just straight potato. Biscuits and gravy were delicious and had a good amount of gravy. You can really taste the mushroom and the big chunks of sausages added a good texture to it. The Dutch baby was different than your normal pancake and tasted more like a flatbread with a ton of butter on top. If you want to add whipped cream only it'll cost you $1 for just a tiny bit! Kids burger was delicious according to my daughter and the fries are more on the thin soggy side. Plenty of street parking and they actually have a small parking area next to the restaurant. Overall I would definitely go back but wouldn't order the Dutch baby. read more
I love the exposed brick and natural wood here! It feels bright and airy. We split the festive salad (a fav of mine!). I had the Aisle burger which has the making of all your favorite things--bacon, gorgonzola, a cherry aioli. Honestly I could just use a bit more topping! My partner had the braised short rib--a tender, great portion, that just needed a touch of salt! The standout from our evening was our server who answered many questions and sent over a complimentary Requin Marteau cocktail for us to try. It was bourbon-y with a touch of that blueberry sweetness. Honestly 10/10 and will likely return just for that drink! read more

This place is adorable and the service we had was excellent. Lovely location to enjoy a coffee, cocktail, or meal. The food didn't do anything for me, though. The pear and prosciutto flatbread had much more cheese than pear or prosciutto and the burger was fine but nothing special. Honestly, though, I'd go back for a drink and the great service. read more
After failing to get a table for bunch at another St. Paul restaurant, my friend suggested we go here. A-Side is a cool concept in a former firehouse. Very industrial. I love that in the warmer months they open up the doors to let the natural air in. Again we went for brunch. They were busy but we were able to be seated right away. I got a Dutch baby (pancake), hash browns and the Teddy Graham Latte. Food was great. Our waiter was also the bartender/barista but they were very attentive. I seen that they do igloo dining for a limited time during the holiday season. I'm looking forward to going back for that experience possibly. read more

We came to A-Side for brunch & sat on their spacious patio. The restaurant itself is huge, with plenty of seating, & I love that they can open the garage doors to have an inside-outside feel. Our server was excellent, we got our food fairly quickly & it was delicious! I got the eggs Benedict (ham on the side); their hollandaise was the perfect consistency & flavor, the English muffin had a nice crisp to it, & the eggs were perfectly cooked. I also got one of their special lattes (with blueberry) & it was so good! I highly recommend this spot for brunch, & I want to come back for dinner! read more

I went on Friday around 3pm for food and was greeted by amazing service and delicious food. I went by myself and got a table on their patio. I ordered the Shawarma bowl and a Non-Alcoholic Pineapple Margarita. I felt comfortable eating my food and reading my book. It was a great experience and I would go back to try their other food. read more

Here for dinner before a night out. Food and drinks were good but nothing fantastic. Our server was very nice but pretty slow, forgot some items. Best thing about this restaurant is how they left a lot of the building which gives it great character. read more

Loved our dinner! We had the Valentine's Day special which was grilled shrimp and steak. Reasonably priced. Great place for a more upscale but still fairly casual date night. Street parking. Very friendly service. Dinner took a little longer to get to the table but it was Valentine's Day so to be expected. read more
