We found this great spot for our date night. The outside seating patio was beautiful - filled with potted plants and flowers, hanging outdoor lights, and unique outdoor lawn decorations. As we entered, we were greeted right away by one of the friendly servers. We were there in time for happy hour and they had a great cocktail selection. I had the La Bonita Margarita - it was delicious!! We had the chicken wings with peach habanero sauce for our appetizer and it was crispy and juicy! We had the Tibs - highly recommended - and the salmon....both were flavorful and yummy. We had the strawberry cheesecake and it was dreamy! This was a great spot and we would definitely come again to try other items on their menu!

This family owned spot on the corner of Old Hwy 8 and County Rd D is a "must try!" The service is personal. The interior is clean, interesting and relaxed. The owners have gone the extra mile on every detail and every ingredient! The chef has developed food curations that will surprise you. There is something that is a little "extra" yet subtle in every bite.

I was feeling cooped up with all the snow and decided to venture out for some light shopping in Roseville! I noticed this spot on Google maps as a brunch place. I was craving breakfast and a mimosa, so I made my way over! I was specifically looking for a restaurant with a parking lot to avoid dealing with the snow emergency street parking rules. This charming spot hit all the checkboxes! Immediately upon pulling up, they have a nice large lot that wraps around the building, and a patio with a pergola that would be amazing in the summer! I walked in and was greeted right away and told to pick any table. A small interior with quite a large bar. The style of the interior reminded me of early 2000s bistro kitchen decor. It was warm and inviting. Even during a snowstorm, this place had several patrons! I decided on the Vegetarian Benedict with mushrooms and a regular Mimosa. Service was very fast and friendly! The hollandaise was mustard forward, which was a pleasant surprise. I love tangy sauces to pull the meal together! The eggs were poached perfectly, and I was able to use the sauce and egg yolk to dip the hashbrowns in. The hashbrowns themselves were also perfectly crispy. Hot sauce and other condiments were offered. Overall, a great spot! I will definitely be back to try other menu items and update my review!

We had the breakfast burrito and lasagna and both were amazing. The place was cozy and classy, and the service was great. I highly recommend everything about Leela on 8. Tip: Climbing the hill to get into the parking lot freaked me out a bit but then I realized I just needed to go around the corner, and I could have just driven in. It was well worth the visit. We'll be back!

Had the pleasure of visiting this little gem of a restaurant in New Brighton! Having been only open for 2 months they are serving some of the most flavorful breakfast food I've had in a while and at affordable prices! The breakfast burrito was soo delicious- definitely a little heat esp with the chipotle mayo - also really big! The strawberry, banana , blueberry French toast was also perfection because they added the right amount of Nutella drizzle on top!! Coffee is endless and strong but best of all the manager is so kind and nice and I'm hoping to visit again to try their lunch or dinner!! The patio looks super inviting in the warmer months- I will definitely add this to my weekend brunch spots !

Pleasantly surprised and I'm sure more is on the way with them eventually offering dinner and drinks. This is the former Barley John's location that I noticed last night as we drove home from northern soda. The food was very good I tried ropa vieja Benny which was good and I can honestly say I've never had an eggs Benedict like this before. It had tender Latin flavored beef (similar to birria). It was very good. My wife had the veggie omelet, and my son the breakfast burrito. The burrito was awesome and had great flavors. Paige our server was great and she handled all the tables herself. She did a fantastic job and was very friendly. Great patio for outdoor eating, the inside is kind of small with four or five bar seats. And a handful of booths and tables. Lovely new spot to try as the have been open just shy of a month.

Cozy and friendly little restaurant! I was running some errands in the area and used Yelp for its intended purpose by searching Eggs Benedict because that's what my hankering was for. That brought me here and I was able to try out a very intriguing take on that dish! Theirs is called Ropa Vieja Benedict and has shredded beef and a Hollandaise that has a unique mustardy tang. It came with unusually light hash browns that I really liked; people who avoid hash browns for reasons of greasiness are likely to tolerate these. They have a lot of breakfast and lunch options, plus a small dinner menu for when they are open that late. It feels like a breakfast place, though. I came in at noon on a Sunday and they didn't seem overly busy - I sidled up to one of several available tables - but it still took longer to be served than I was expecting. My server was nonetheless very charming and I'll definitely return here.

This cute little Cuban fusion American brunch place is totally a gem! The owner is super nice and was very friendly telling us about the place, the food and the art on the wall. He mentioned that they will open for dinner hours in the near future. The location is great on a corner of a busy intersection. The only thing is that indoor seating is a little small. But once the weather gets nice out, they have an amazing patio for outdoor seating, with lots of plants! I love their food, sandwiches, breakfast food with a Cuban twist. Really good portion for the price as well. Will definitely come back!

I'm sorry Jason. You really had my hopes up when you were talking about Betty and Earl"s biscuits…read moreon your show but you've proven to me once again that unless you were raised in the South or by a Southern transplant you don't have a clue about baking soda biscuits. A good southern biscuit is hard to find in Minnesota. In my house they are served warm. and soft, usually fresh from the oven. A dab of butter melted inside sets them off perfectly. If a restaurant in Minnesota says it has Biscuits and Gravy I can't resist trying it only to be disappointed over and over again. That being said, KFC and Hardee's both have a good biscuits. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with frozen Pillsberry Grand Buttermilk Biscuits. Not the ones that come in a tube. So why would I go to a bakery in a mall that opens at 11 to get a biscuit? I trusted Jason. He sounded so sincere. Huh! Big mistake, I should have checked out his genealogy. The actual place is in the food court in the Rosedale Mall and the sign says, "Seeet and Savory by Diane" . The first warning was seeing the biscuits on a covered cake tray like you might stack doughnuts. These people are bakers after all not cooks. So, we wait for the lady at the counter to finish helping the person in front of us and then we asked for biscuits and gravy. The lady walks over to the sign and shows us the little sticker they added that says, "Weekend's Only". I was already wondering why anyone would start serving breakfast at 11. While we were trying to figure out if that applied to every item on the board or just the biscuits and gravy another customer got in front of us. We decided to ask for biscuit and egg sandwich's and a cup of coffee. Well, they only make one craft of coffee a day and when it's out it's out. If we wanted coffee we were told we need to go to the Brew and Waffle concession a few feet away. Alright no big deal, but over there no one's behind the counter and I am baffled as to what is going on. It doesn't seem to be self serve but there is a young lady sitting at the counter eating. Finally she gets up and acknowledges me by telling me she's on break but but since I'm there, she'll help me out anyway. She made it very clear that I was inconveniencing her. Well then, put up a closed sign or a "Back at 1pm" sign. Let's just skip on to describing the biscuit sandwich or more precisely the $10 (the sign said $8 I think) biscuit sandwich. The biscuits were big and thick and yellowish in color. I wondered if they added cornmeal to the flour. They had a gritty texture but not as gritty as cornbread. Ok, next time we'll try Betty and Earl's Minneapolis location. And Jason, spend a weekend south of the Mason-Dixon line and learn a little more about biscuits. Damn! I'm so sorry! I forgot to take pictures.

I've had two meals from Betty and Earl's and both are meals I would order again…read more While the plague perpetuates I am only getting curbside takeout, and their system for that works just fine. Ordering from the website is easy; you can opt for curbside delivery, and once your order goes through you get an email with instructions to call them when you arrive. There is a handy little parking circle by the main entrance to Potluck; that area gets plenty of traffic but your call with a friendly B&E's person will ensure that they find your car among the group. I got the biscuits with sausage gravy the first time and the pulled pork open-face biscuit thingie the second. Both were really good. The sausage gravy was a great, meaty brunch item, and the pulled pork was really delicious. Having piles of shredded BBQ pork on top of those thick, freshly-made biscuits was a unique experience. As long as you don't mind getting your fingers a little messy - and if you're eating pulled pork then honestly what do you expect - you just form a pile on one of the biscuits and hold it by the biscuit as you snack it down. There will be leftover meat that you can eat with a fork. I got yummy fresh cookies both times as well, and ended up full and satisfied. One issue I have with the website is that there isn't a description of the entrees, so you don't necessarily know what will come on them and there's no option to request, for instance, "hold the pickles". But that's about it; I really like the food I've gotten here and will keep it coming.

From the hostess who graciously held the doors open for us in the 95° heat to our incredible server, David, everything was outstanding. We started with cocktails. I had what may have been the best bourbon Old Fashioned I've ever tasted, and my wife enjoyed a wonderfully refreshing cocktail (whose name I, unfortunately, can't remember). We began our meal with the roasted Brussels sprouts. Normally, I'm not much of a Brussels sprouts fan, but I happily cleaned the plate. My wife and I shared the 12-ounce filet mignon, cooked medium rare, and it was absolute perfection. Chef's kiss. David recommended a bottle of wine to pair with our steak. It wasn't inexpensive, but it was worth every penny. But wait... there's more. As incredible as that wine was with the filet, it somehow paired even better (yes, I know that sounds impossible) with the slice of heaven they call chocolate cake. I'm sure it has a much fancier name on the menu, but "slice of heaven" seems more accurate. If you've read my other reviews, you know I have a tendency toward hyperbole. If there were ever a time to lean into it, this is it. THIS MEAL WAS FANTASTIC. THE AMBIANCE WAS PERFECT. THE FOOD WAS EXCEPTIONAL. AND THE COMPANY WAS DIVINE. The Caesar salad has officially been added to my regular rotation. The jammy egg was cooked perfectly with a rich, yolky center that was still easy to slice. The Parmesan crisps were thoughtfully sized, adding great texture without being so large they scraped the roof of your mouth. The salad was evenly dressed, making every bite flavorful. Overall, excellent food, outstanding cocktails, and warm, attentive service. I'll definitely be back.

My opinions are just as much rooted in the emotion attached to each bite. We live in Texas but spend lots of time in the Twin Cities. I'm a vegetarian, so I put off going to Diane's Place because it felt like the options for me were relatively limited. Boy, am I kicking myself for waiting! I told my wife after our first meal at Diane's Place this weekend that I compared the first bite (which happened to be the green scallion croissant) to my responses to certain music. As a musician and audiophile, hearing something moving or stirring can illicit a very visceral emotional response. I experienced a very similar response with that very first bite. My appreciation for the art of cuisine brought to perfection by Diane Moua literally caused my eyes to well up. This may sound like hyperbole, but it is not. The egg rolls were light and crispy and oddly nostalgic. The bamboo & cabbage swimming in coconut curry was my entree. On its own, it is perfectly balanced with the right amount of salt, acid, and umami. I tacked on some sticky rice and Hmong hot sauce...use with caution! It's potent but so delicious. Given Diane's background in pastry, don't skip dessert! We loved our experience so much on Sunday for dinner that we very quickly made a brunch reservation for Tuesday. Connor and Simon were extraordinarily helpful and knowledgeable about the menu.
