    Lobster Roll
    Jennifer M.

I wanted to try a new restaurant for my birthday today and choose Baldamar in Roseville because I saw they had a Lobster Roll, I Love lobster! All the food was delicious, and the service from Arielle was excellent! Thank you for everything, I will be back!

The service was attentive. Went for lunch on a Friday. Got the street corn and the server offered it with chips as a dip, it was much more cheesy than I anticipated it to be. My friend got the BLT and a salad and I got a baked potato which I realize is silly but that's what I was in the mood for and they are usually incredible at a steak restaurant. The potato was twice baked which wasn't noted on the menu, I wouldn't have ordered it if I had known that. They gave us a complimentary dessert since it was our first time in. Large menu with lots of options and I'm sure it's great for dinner but we were just there for lunch!

Went there for a date night, they had a great cockktail menu and unique items on the menu! The food was delicious.we ordered the calarami, the lobster pasta and the pomegranate sauce chicken. The quantity of the food was good for a fine dine restaurant. Definitely a good choice for a celebration, date nights or get togethers!

I said we'd be back, and we came back :) we went without a reservation which was a mistake. We ended up sitting at a high top in the bar area in the doorway and overall just felt too in the doorway. Food 4/5: we started with the pork belly. It was overall well cooked and flavored. We both got steaks and shared mac and cheese and the Brussels sprouts. The sprouts were the star of the show, I just wish the portion was larger. The Mac and cheese was just ok. We did get it without the lobster, but I overall prefer a creamy Mac and cheese and thought the spice didn't compliment the cheese included in the Mac. I got one of the wagyu steak and it was just ok. I asked for medium and it was more towards a medium well. We finished with the chocolate cake and they also brought some ice cream thing we didn't order. Both were decadent and well balanced. Service 5/5: our waiter was attentive and overall did a good job. Ambiance 3/5: overall this place has a cozy elevated vibe. The table we sat at was a bit of an anomaly to the overall aesthetic. We were so close to the doorway and anytime the door opened we were met with the ice cold air. Our table was also not even, so anytime someone was cutting their steak, the other person had to hold onto the table so things didn't fall over/spill.

    Halibut (Mother's Day Special)

My husband and I flew to Minnesota for a friend's event and decided to celebrate my birthday a little early while we were in town. The vibe there is great with lots of unique art and paintings on the walls. One thing I really liked as an eco-friendly person was that the bathroom has actual towels for drying your hands instead of paper ones. We had a reservation and they had us seated within five minutes. We started with the Whiskey Cream Mushrooms and the Watermelon Salad. If you are a cheese lover, you have to get those mushrooms. They were buttery and warm and absolutely loaded with parmesan. They basically just melted in my mouth. The watermelon salad was our personal favorite of the night. It had a spicy kick to it that reminded us of eating watermelon with Tajin. I actually saved some of the salad to eat with my Hanger Steak Chimichurri. The steak had a unique and slightly gamey taste with a different texture from the seasoning. I almost thought I had been served lamb or goat, but it was still good. Mixing the blue cheese from the salad with the steak was a great combo to help balance out the heaviness of the meat. My husband tried the Mother's Day special which was halibut with fruit salads. We never thought those flavors would go well together, but it was a really nice surprise. For dessert, we ordered the Mocha Mudpie. We had no idea how massive it was going to be until it arrived. It is easily big enough for four people to share. It is made with Sebastian Joe's coffee ice cream and Oreos and walnuts. My husband ordered a coffee to go with it, which I would definitely recommend doing. The bitterness of the coffee really helps balance out all that chocolate and sweetness. The only part we were a little unsure about was the birthday treat. The table right behind us got a small dessert with a candle. My husband mentioned to the server that it was my birthday while I was in the restroom, but we did not get anything. We were not sure if the other table ordered theirs separately or if the restaurant just does not do complimentary birthday treats. It was not a dealbreaker, but it was just something we noticed since we usually see that for special occasions. Overall, it is a really good spot for a date night or just grabbing drinks. They have some great beverage options too.

Went for a birthday dinner. Steak was very good and one of the better ones I've gotten in the twin cities! Got the 8 oz Filet. The béarnaise sauce was one of the best I've had. Also got the spicy lobster Mac n cheese and the mashed potatoes. Not usually a big lobster person but the flavor was very good and not very fishy. Would recommend both sides. Server was very good and checked on us the right amount. Gives normal steak house vibes and appreciate the complimentary desert which was Sebastian's joes coffee ice cream (really good stuff). Parking lot is shared with the mall but has dedicated spots for the restaurant and didn't have to park too far away. Would definitely come back.

Again, a win! Amy was so cheerful and guided us to Bread of Life starter, which was outstanding! Soups are all delish and the half French Dip prime Rib Sandwich was huge! Such a beautiful place to be.

Bread is Life was my favorite! I also ordered the miso sea bass which was very salty but the salad complimented it well, although I wouldn't order this again I would love to try their other foods.

Baldamar lived up to the hype for me! My wife and I came in for the Champagner brunch and it did not disappoint. We tried way too many dishes to list. But I loved the scallop, the steak and eggs, and the king crab Benedict. And let's not forget get about the drinks. So much more than champagne which is flowing liberally. There are several tasty cocktails. Between us I think we tried them all :) The 14 Karat Queen may have been the highlight. But my favorite drink was actually the Pinot Noir. It was super tasty especially for being featured in an all you can drink menu. It's certainly not your typical house wine. Oh and pro tip. Save the French toast for last call. It's massive and you can bring it home when you don't finish it. We brought this and the Sticky Toffee Pudding. If I'm not picky the only downfall is that this menu is served in a room off the main dining area. The main dining area being a wide up and super cool looking space. So the side room just can't compete. I'm guessing though this is what helps keep the service super perfect for this all you can eat menu. So I think the trade off is worth it. Yes this is a pricey meal but it's worth it for a splurge.

Lobster Mac n Cheese and Tamarind Braised Short Rib

Delicious! I visited on a Saturday night around 5pm and the place was packed but rightfully so. The food, service, and ambiance was perfect. We ordered oysters, Chimichurri Shrimp, Char Grilled Street Corn and the bread is life for appetizers and for main dishes/sides we got Tamarind Braised Short Rib, Miso Marinated Sea Bass, Lobster Mac n Cheese and Steak. The portion sizes were fairly big so make sure you come hungry. All the items we ordered were so flavorful and cooked perfectly. Don't skip on the bread appetizer-the jalapeño spread for it is to die for! Just a heads up that it can get quite loud inside.

Delicious! Super fun decor and amazing staff. Parking is easy and the drinks are great. Expect to spend some money. Great for date night and casual night out with friends. Excellent brunch also!

Service was great! Served was so attentive without being overbearing. She also fixed an issue I had with my drink right away. Roasted artichoke was done great. Calamari was good, but a little too sweet and not enough peppers in our bowl. Steaks were cooked perfect. Loaded baked potato was to die for with the crispiest skin. Oysters are always a good idea

I actually love this place & will continue to go. The food is great, servers are fun & friendly & the menu is fantastic. This time i ordered the Trendsetter cocktail, Sooooo Goood. I highly recommend it. My friend & I decided to try the short rib nachos & unfortunately we were extremely disappointed. For $26 nachos there was hardly any meat.... like barely any. What's worse, is as we seen them bright to other tables around us they all looked so much better. I don't know what happened but i felt that we got totally screwed over.

That's when we realized we had accidentally booked at their Lakeville location. Thankfully, they were still able to seat us, which we really appreciated. Our server, Asia, was fantastic, very attentive and always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. The menu is definitely focused on steak and seafood, so if that's not your thing the options are limited, but that was fine with us. The decor stood out to me, especially the old-style photos of cattle on hooks, which gave the place a unique touch since it's a steakhouse. For appetizers, we ordered the Cajun walleye strips, which were fresh and full of flavor. My wife went with the petite filet mignon, while I tried the crab-stuffed Atlantic salmon. Both dishes were excellent, and everything came out hot and well prepared. The booths were comfortable, the vibe was relaxed but upscale, and the overall atmosphere made it feel perfect for a date night. As for dress, I saw a mix of casual and business casual outfits from other guests. Since it's more of a fine dining spot, we were both dress casual, we normally do business to dress casual when we choose fine dining. The restaurant is easy to get to, right off 35E and Little Canada Road, just minutes from Hwy 36 and 694. Parking is a little tight, so I'd recommend arriving early to grab a spot. Overall, between the service, food, and atmosphere, we had a wonderful evening here and will definitely be back.

It was our first experience at a Hot Pot spot, so the server explained the menu and took our drink order. He also informed us where we could find the sauce bar (near the entrance) if we wanted sauces. Good. We ordered and received the Hot Pot bases and all of the toppings relatively quickly. The server turned on the bbq pit thing in the center of the table once the proteins arrived. Great! The table ordered Original, Miso, Kimchi (best favor), and Tom Thai. Most of the flavors were bland at best, except the Kimichi, which was too spicy for most of the table but it was tasty! Bc I was sharing a pot with someone that can't tolerate spicy, I didn't get that base. We tried the soup bases. Meh... Everyone added proteins and veggies to their soups. 6 out of 7 people were disappointed with the hot pots. The common complaint was "this doesn't have flavor." We had two 10 years that enjoyed watching the squid tentacles curl in the soup but not the soup, specifically bc it was bland. This was true for most of us at the table. The beef, chicken and pork all had a mild fishy taste but lacked beef, chicken, or pork flavor. I cooked the protein on the little table grill with chopsticks (we weren't provided with tongs) but again, no flavor. I went to the sauce bar for the table (I found the tongs there). We were told about the sauce bar but not about the tongs, which made my personal experience laborious bc I was one of two people decent with chopsticks at our table. Anyways, sauce bar. Got sauces. Sauces didn't help cover the fish taste. Nor did the sauce help the already cooked protein taste good. The ambiance was smoky, probably due to the grills on the table but of our guests had to leave bc the smoke gave him a headache. The started off nicely but as the meal progressed the server never came to refill drinks or inquire about our meal. He didn't provide recommendations to get the best experience and he didn't provide serving utensils. All in all, I don't recommend. I would like a refund but based on the lack of serve (especially knowing this was our first experience at a Hot Pot spot), I didn't feel comfortable saying anything and I didn't feel like being upset. We just decided to not return and leave a review. Passive, yes, but the experience remained underwhelming not overwhelming. ALSO, you get ice cream bars at the end of your meal! They didn't tell us that! But I saw so many other guests eating them and we were still hungry, I asked if they were included in our PREMIUM DINNER. Ice cream was included. No one told us until we asked. We spent close to $300 dollars for this meal and we received subpar serve and subpar fishy food. I don't recommend.

The inside of the restaurant is nearly identical, the food is nearly identical, much of the staff is identical, the signature meal is nearly identical. The only significant changes are the ever-increasing prices of the steaks. The rustic cabin vibe never gets old. However, one thing that I did not previously review are Lindey's lunches. This has to be the only restaurant where the lunch menu offers more choices than the dinner menu! Now, keep in mind that the dinner menu has only four choices (really only three, if you don't count the prime sirloin which no one orders because it's only a dollar or two less than the "special." However, in addition to the "full" dinner menu, at lunch you can get steak sandwich, two sizes of hamburger, a grilled chicken sandwich, and a grilled cheese sandwich. If my math is correct, that's double the options! On the plus side, the steak sandwich is excellent and costs less than third of the Lindey's special. It is tasty, juicy, comes on an excellent hoggy bun and seems be the same cut as the dinner steak (albeit, a smaller quantity of course). All sandwiches come with either chips or their funky (but lovable salad with Russian dressing), and a pickle spear. Please note that if you want their potatoes, it's $2.95 extra, and additional ingredients -- from onions to tomato to lettuce are about a dollar extra per ingredient. Still, it's a solid value. Also, if you are used to the dinners, please note that the potatoes are not limited and the price is per person, not for the table. All in all, I recommend Lindey's for both dinner and lunch. However, if you have only had dinner there, I urge you to try if for lunch too!.

The brussels sprouts were so good and a must order. Service was amazing. Our server was so kind, helpful, and gave great recommendations, which made the whole experience even better. It is on the pricier side, especially for drinks, but honestly worth it for the quality and experience. Reservations are easy to make and I would definitely recommend booking ahead. Parking was manageable when we went, but I could see it getting tricky during busier times. Overall, such a beautiful, thoughtfully done space with incredible drinks, great food, and top tier service. A perfect spot for a night out or just grabbing a cocktail and soaking in the vibe.

Visiting stops on the distillery passport and spent an afternoon at O'Shaughnessy. I had been here…read morebefore for a couple of events, but never just a regular experience. Inside is beautiful, with leather and wood everywhere. It's a large space, but still feel cozy. Since they specialize in whiskey, that is the base for many cocktails; I actually think that 90% of the cocktail list is whiskey of some form. We also tried a spice bag, which was phenomenal! One of those things I loved so much, I'll probably get it every time I go now. If you're looking for a great place to try some great cocktails, OS Distillery is the place for you!
