Had such a lovely experience celebrating a birthday here. The service was incredible. We got the Denver steak and the tenderloin. Both cooked to perfection and the horseradish sauce was incredible! The meatballs and garlic bread combo is everything. Theres a great vibe and Highly recommend this place!!! Can't wait to come back

Really cool place. Has a steakhouse vibe and is located in an old hotel now converted apartment complex. Started with a Cesar salad. Wasn't really impressed but the croutons were homemade and tasted good. Got the 10 oz shoulder steak. Was really juicy and flavorful. Got a curry béarnaise sauce that was unique but surprisingly worked. Got the aligot potatoes which are a must have. The lobster Mac n cheese left more to be desired. Overall I would say it's one of the best if not best steaks I've had in the twin cities. What I appreciated most was the handmade card for our anniversary. Parking is very limited. Had to walk all the way down the street. They do have valet.

This is the kind of place you can visit and know you are going to have good service, good food and a good experience every single time. The ambiance is 5 stars as well. Along with our main courses, we ordered a few apps and sides to split and everything was incredible...including the lobster roll, which is usually a miss in the Midwest! This will be a regular date night spot for us.

Great food. We weee there for restaurant week. Started with the meatball appetizer. Very salty but in a good way. Great flavor on them. We then had the dry aged shoulder steak and Aligot potatoes. The potatoes were amazing. Creamy and cheesy and delicious. Undoubtedly full of butter and cream and cheese. ;). The steak was amazingly tender. I worried that maybe when it said shoulder steak that it would be tough. It was not. Perfectly cooked and incredibly tender. We concluded with a hot five sundae. Really good also. Service was terrific. Personal and friendly and very gracious. The slightly dark room and classic surroundings make anything feel like a special occasion. All in all a fantastic experience.

I love love love steak. I could never be a vegetarian. So when it was my turn to pick for a business dinner, I said I wanted a steakhouse and my friend chose this restaurant. First, parking here sucks. They do have a valet. Otherwise it's good luck with street parking. If you don't have the patience to spend 20 minutes looking for a spot, plan to valet. Second, the restaurant itself is within a larger building. It is very beautiful and very elegant. But you actually have to walk into the lobby before you reach the restaurant. As you enter there is a separate cocktail bar. Very very lovely spot. All kinds of romantic ambiance. The cocktails here were good - very traditional - as was the dark wood and big chandelier decor. Our waitress was insanely knowledgable (regrettably I do not remember her name). She offered us great service all night. She had to say this crazy long schpeel just to explain the menu. To be perfectly honest, I found the menu to be complicated and confusing. So the explanation was necessary. It really makes me want to suggest they rewrite the menu to be clearer and cleaner. Anyway my 2 cents. We got the steak tartare, which I found to be tasty and unique. We sampled the tataki, which was a huge hit. For meats, we sampled the pork chop, the Denver steak and the shoulder steak. The Denver was the table favorite -- tender and the most like a filet I think. We skipped dessert. In all, it was a very fine steakhouse. But I just think there are better ones around the Cities.

The food was great. Very tender, we got dry aged wagu and it was phenomenal. Also paried that up with the lobster MnC.

I stopped by here during restaurant week. The food was good, nothing phenomenal. The service was very slow. If you aren't in a rush and would like to take your time, I would recommend this place. But I'd rather go elsewhere for steak.

What a beautiful and intimate setting for dinner. The service was superb. They have valet parking($15) but we opted to park a block away for free. They gave us a tour of the place and all the different dining experiences. The food was delicious especially the steak. Perfect restaurant for an intimate dinner.

EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING! Our waiter was sooo knowledgeable and so sweet! My husband is super picky about his steaks and it's so hard to impress him on steaks but they did it! The food was just sooo amazing! I got the waygu and he got the aged ribeye! Both are amazing!

My boyfriend and I visited here for my birthday and it was honestly a mediocre experience. Our server was nice and knew the menu well but the food didn't impress us We started with the steak tartare and mussels. The tartare was good but the crackers it came with kind of took away from the flavor of the tartare which should be the star of the show. The mussels were very good other than being too heavy on the salt. We ordered the PS Steak trio and it was okay. Nothing I'd come back for. They gave us mushrooms on the house and those were very good other than again being too heavy on salt. Overall it's a beautiful restaurant but not a place I'd come back to or recommend friends to go to. The price of everything didn't match the expectations we had.

Amazing dinner. Had the rib eye, lobster Mac and cheese, brussel sprouts, bone in bacon, seafood platter & crème brûlée. AMAZING

I was surprised both good and bad with this restaurant. With a name like P.S. Steak I was expecting a great, well...steak. Not the case for me but plenty of good things to say about this restaurant. I enjoyed my meal as a whole but the sides were the stars of what we ordered. I have been dreaming of the Delicata Squash with goat cheese, peanuts, salsa macha and roasted veggies. Little to no spice (heat) but full of flavor and creamy goat cheese. The Aligot Potatoes might be the best potato dish I have ever tasted. Think of mashed potatoes on another level. So the steak, what I would have expected to be the star of our order was fine. With a name like P.S. Steak my expectations were high, and fine, is disappointing. We ordered the Denver Steak, and the Manhattan Steak, neither were very flavorful. Both were cooked perfectly as we asked but the tender, flavorful cut of meat we had hoped for was not. I've had worse but I expected better. Last we ordered the Baked Alaska for dessert and it did not disappoint. It was a delicious combination of Salted Caramel ice cream, sponge cake, with Green Chartreuse. It was a show and a treat for everyone. This is an absolutely beautiful restaurant with a couple different rooms with distinct styles. Please don't let my view of the steaks we received sway you from this restaurant. The food as a whole is very good and our service was excellent!

I was successful found a spot at the end of the bar and was greeted by a few very helpful bartenders who took very good care of me and helped me with recommendations. As this was a solo dining experience it can prove tricky on what to order without going too overboard - especially staying in a hotel without reheating options. I started off with a cocktail called the Santo Drift. Great flavor and smooth. Would've ordered another, but I came in with a plan to only get one cocktail and one wine. I got the empanadas and they were probably one of the best I've ever had. An instant must order. I then ordered the Entraña (6oz) with chimichurri as my sauce. Very traditional and extremely tasty. I was affirmed with my decision to go with my usual medium rare temp - whereas some cuts it was recommended to go Medium and so on. The meat was PERFECT. To go with it I also ordered the pommes puree with garlic gravy - it's as good as it sounds which is VERY GOOD. To go with my steak I paired it myself with a Montepulciano red - one i am very familiar with and paired nicely with the steak and puree. To wrap things up I am a sucker for an Olive Oil cake - theirs was really good. Doesn't beat my all time favorite at a place near me in my hometown, but this one had a nice fruit element different than the typical berries I am used to going with it. As I was enjoying it one of the bartenders came over and provided a lively complimentary liquor - a small but very lovely serving. The atmosphere was exceptional. The service was phenomenal. The food instantly became a top highlight for my trip, and the overall experience has me wanting more.

Plus with our spouses out of town it was a great excuse for a "boys night out" in downtown. Things were a bit quiet (it's January after all) but that was ok with me. We sat in a great two-person booth facing the huge bar. The restaurant features inventive cocktails so I had my usual when places have skilled bartenders-Markers Mark whiskey sour-made perfectly. The food menu features a lot of very reasonably priced fish and seafood dishes and some pricey steaks like a fillet for $88 (wow!). Sides are separate and they've got a long list of tantalizing starters too although you MUST try the amazing shrimp/avocado boats-4 crunchy little endive boats with a delicious ceviche-like mixture of tiny shrimp. Scrumptious!! And just a lite bite so you definitely have room for the fluffy grougheres with the fontina cheese dip. We tried the hanger steak-nicely prepared and the seared halibut with a Moroccan-style sauce-very interesting. For sides we loved the potato pave(square of scalloped potatoes) and the fried eggplant with a sticky honey bbq drizzle. Our server Dominica took excellent care of us a Carl did a nice job assisting-water glasses were always full (to me a mark of a well run place). Alas, as with all the spots on Washington parking can be an issue. They offer valet ($15) but I luckily found a spot on the street 1-block down. Definitely will be back soon.

We arrived around 5:30 p.m., about 30 minutes after opening. The room was dark, cramped, and louder than the small space can really support. The playlist was distracting, and the kitchen staff audibly singing along did not help the atmosphere. Service was well-intentioned but missed the mark. Our server could not tell us whether the main component of a dish was cucumber, fennel, both, or something else, which is a basic menu question at this price point. Timing was off throughout the meal, so if you are expecting polished, well-paced service, I would look elsewhere. The food was the biggest disappointment. I could see an attempt at creativity, but the dishes felt more confused than composed. Several flavors landed at extremes: too sweet, too spicy, or too heavy on fishy funk, without enough balance to pull them together. It felt like "fusion" without a clear point of view. Parking is also difficult in this part of the North Loop, so plan for a ramp, valet, or extra time and money. I would not return for happy hour, dinner, a hosted meal, or a special occasion.

They are known for their beef, but the service and everything else that my daughter and I experienced while we enjoyed lunch there was just off the charts! It all started with Greg, the manager of the restaurant, and the fact that I had left my credit card at the adjacent bar the night before during a pre-wedding mixer. Greg was amazing, friendly, and immediately was able to bring my credit card up front and we told him we would be back for lunch. The restaurant, located at the Foshay Tower, was only a three block walk from the hotel that we stayed at... The Normandy Inn & Suites. We sat at the bar and talked to Dave our bartender the entire time we were there. We obviously were there for the beef so we ordered the French dip roast beef sandwich. This is what aged beef is supposed to taste like. The shrimp cocktail starter was equally solid: big, clean, classic. Where it slipped for me was the sides. Both arrived barely above room temperature. The baked potato had none of the crispy skin or fluffy interior you expect. It tasted like it was steamed at 10am and sat in a tray until dinner service. The pie was fine but also lukewarm, with no crispness to speak of. Service was friendly but attention was clearly going to the larger parties in the room. Bottom line:I'm going back. The steak alone earns it. Next time I'm skipping the sides and doubling down on the appetizers.

The restaurant itself is really beautiful and it's also very big. I guessed 200 seats plus patio. The space is very elegant, and clearly a lot of attention went into the design. I would describe it as kind of modern steakhouse vibe. Dark wood, faux fur and leather finishes, etc. Elegant. We were seated at a booth by the bar with a big window view of the patio and parking lot. We were immediately slightly offput because the marble ledge separating the booth from the window was dirty - grease and little food crumbs. Not the best first impression. The booth and table were both clean though. Our waitress, Ash, did provide good service but I would say honestly she was a bit too attentive if that makes sense, and she was also too chatty for us. There were several times when she lingered at our table to tell us something we didn't inquire about or to just talk about something. It was a bit annoying honestly. But the service itself was good. We were also visited by a manager during our visit. We each got a mocktail (it was lunch) but they have an impressive drink menu. I got the Red Rose which was really tasty, and my husband got the pineapple drink, which he also said was good. -We ordered the chimichuri shrimp appetizer, which was pretty banging. Four really large shrimp, each on its own piece of bruschetta, doused in chimichuri sauce. Even for me, with a low spice tolerance, it was just the right amount of spice and it was really really good. -We also got a round of oysters. The oysters themselves were fresh - no complaints there. When they were delivered to our table, the person did not tell us which variety was which (pretty standard when serving oysters at any restaurant). Because we eat oysters a lot and one of the varieties was sweet petite, it was fairly easy to tell which was which. But in my opinion, there should have been information given when the oysters were served. The other big issue was the shucking. Some of the oysters hadn't been fully separated from the shell, and we both found ourselves picking bits of shell from our mouths. We actually had a little discussion about the $6 price tag. I felt it was reasonable, my husband felt it was high. But for $6 apiece, the oysters need to be shucked properly and these were not. Ash also made a point to tell us all kinds of information we didn't ask for about their happy hour, which includes $3 oysters. That would be a steal if they learn how to shuck them. -I got the half french dip sandwich, and I was really glad I just ordered the half because what I was served was totally a whole sandwich in my book. The accompanying fries were delicious, crispy, deep golden brown and hot. The au jus served with the sandwich was slightly on the salty side but not terrible. And I do realize it's au jus. In all it was a pretty decent sandwich. -Hubby got the sea bass sandwich, which was also pretty tasty. I'll be honest and say that I think the entree sea bass would have been better. The fish was so good that I don't honestly think you needed the bun. But it was really good and fresh and delicious. We skipped dessert. In all, a pretty solid dining experience and the food was very good. But it was the minor things mentioned that bothered us, so 3 stars with room for improvement upon our return.

The Brussel Sprouts and the JFC (Japanese Fried Chicken) are two of my favorites but the Risotto is amazing! I love risotto and when you mix in parsnip I'm sold. But...the star of this menu is the Sonder Burger. With all of the discussion about the best burger in the Twin Cities this burger should be considered. Two smashed patties with white American cheese, a couple of pickles, and a little it of Sonder Sauce (think of Thousand Island dressing). The patties have crispy, caramelized edges, the bun is soft, yet substantial enough to hold. You can get fries but I got greens for a side. Get this burger! The space has a great style but I love sitting at the bar in this restaurant. They have a great drink menu, they really know how to make a great cocktail, and the bartenders are always so friendly. Next time you are in the neighborhood stop and check this place out!
