Porzana is phenomenal!! The steak with the Chimichurri sauce is a MUST try. We did the steak and eggs with the Hangar steak. I will say, I highly suggest getting the 6oz rather than the 12oz. We ordered one 12oz (top right in picture) and it truly did not feel like that much more than the 6oz steaks, for the price and value, I would recommend the smaller 6oz size. For appetizers the Papas Aplastadas are very worth it!! Service was good and ambiance is nice. A cool spot that I highly recommend. Stunning, cozy interior with a relaxed, dimly lit atmosphere that instantly sets the mood. Your eyes definitely eat first here--the presentation is truly a work of art, and some of the dishes are almost too beautiful to touch. We ordered the steak, grilled shrimp, raw oysters, and grilled chicken, and I loved being able to experience a little bit of everything. The presentation of each dish was so thoughtful. The service was excellent, and our servers were genuinely knowledgeable about the menu and able to explain the dishes and make recommendations. One of my favorite spots in Minneapolis! I have been to Porzana for birthday celebrations, date nights, and sharing dinner with friends from out of town. Each time is a wonderful experience. I've been here a few times now. I've been happy with their selection as a pescatarian, and the staff made sure to make a not of that. The restaurant was much bigger than I expected which was also nice. It was too hot when we were there, but they also had a cute patio on the side of the restaurant. We got a TON of dishes as we were treating ourselves and here is what we thought of each... Empanadas - Perfect size, crispy dough, and FULL of meat. The sauce, mango salsa, and the aoli on the side were the perfect editions. Sweet Corn Agnolotto - Literally NO notes. There is a reason why this is all over theirs and visitors social media. It is fresh and bright, yet has an amazing depth of flavor. Asparagus - These were perfectly charred and bright. They didn't feel heavy at all which was awesome. Entrana - The main event and so dang good. Perfectly cooked, tender, and the flavor was excellent. We love steak and honestly do a pretty good job cooking it ourselves, but this is somewhere we would go for a good steak. This was my top meat choice. The chimichurri and Lla Jua sauces were a perfect pairing with this as well. Ribeye - This ribeye was also delicious! It was tender and juicy, and had good flavor. My fiance preffered this to the Entrana though we both loved them both. Papas Aplastadas - These were fried potatoes with bacon, cheese, and beurre blanc. They were good, but not great. Honestly, I think we just loved the other dishes so much that these didn't even get a fair chance. Though these had the most ingredients, I would say they were the least flavorful to me. Porzana may take the prize for the best steak I've had in the Midwest! We had been wanting to come here forever and finally made the trip from Milwaukee. It was worth it. We started with the burrata, which incorporated pistachio, kiwi and avocado. Creative twist, that was a tasty start to our meal. After seeing so many 5 star reviews I was curious if it would live up to the hype... it definitely does!! Service was fantastic and very attentive. We were given a description of the various cuts of meat which helped us decide what to try. My table ordered a domestic wagyu zabuton steak and a picanha steak. For sides we ordered the Caesar salad, grilled mushrooms and the tallow fries. The Caesar salad came out first. This dish set the bar high. It has a unique blend of herbs and spices adorning a bed of crunchy romaine and fried oysters that elevated this dish. Must try if you are in the mood for a salad. The steaks and sides came out next and were shareable. Between the two steaks the wagyu was the better choice. Melt in your mouth and seasoned to perfection. The picanha had great flavor but was definitely tough to cut. I'll just order the wagyu next time. The steaks come with a side of sauce. We ordered the chimichurri and llagua. I liked the chimichurri the best between these sauces. The mushrooms were marinated so well and had a rich umami flavor. The tallow fries were crispy and salty. I would get either of these sides again. We finished our dinner with the "burnt" cheesecake. Which featured strawberry rhubarb compote on top. Save room for this desert! It was so good! We went on a busy Saturday night and found parking in a nearby garage. They offer valet but we didn't notice it until we had already parked. Came here for brunch recently (my second time having brunch here) and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite spots as someone who's not a fan of traditional American breakfast. My first time I had the Turkish Eggs (not pictured) and OMG. That is the only way I want all my egg dishes prepared now. This time we started with Pa amb tomaquet which was a perfect balance of acidic, salty, and crunchy. Every server we've had has been friendly, attentive, and great at giving recommendations. The food is unreal. Easily some of the best in the area. A few favorites are the chipas, pork empanadas, glazed carrots, and the agnolotti pasta. And of course, the steaks are a highlight. I love that they offer grass-fed options. We've tried a few cuts, including the Australian wagyu and Zabuton with béarnaise, and everything has been perfectly cooked, super tender, and well seasoned. The papas aplastadas are another must. I have a gluten allergy and they had a separate GF menu. We started off with a couple of cocktails - mango!mango!mango! and between the sheets. OK, hands down, this is some of the best food I've had in the Minneapolis area. I'd heard about this place from multiple people and my hotel bartender, which, let's be honest, is basically Michelin-level validation. If someone who pours drinks for a living tells you where to eat, you listen. We showed up on a Wednesday night, but looking around, you'd swear it was Saturday at 7 PM. The place was PACKED. The waitlist was at least an hour long, but thankfully we had a reservation because my hanger level cannot handle that kind of test. They sat us near the kitchen, which I didn't mind, but the table right next to the kitchen seemed like it needed a traffic cone and hazard lights. People kept avoiding it like it was haunted. Then came the appetizers. Specifically, the grilled shrimp. HOLY. WOW. If I could write an ode to these shrimp, I would. These little crustaceans were sent from heaven, or at least from a chef who deeply understands my soul. They came out whole, topped with cilantro, crispy garlic, and some magical sauce mixture that I can only describe as "give me more immediately." I had to physically restrain myself from licking the plate. Zero shame. For my main dish, I ordered the Malfadini Estofado. Handmade noodles, short ribs, tomato, Parmesan, basically everything my carb loving heart dreams about at night. The noodles had that perfect al dente chew, and the short rib sauce was rich and comforting enough to heal emotional wounds. Amazing. Service? Also fantastic. Our server was funny, warm, and on top of everything. And the WATER SERVICE? Listen. If there is one thing I love, it's not having to ration my water like I'm trekking across the desert. Who would have thought that I would have to fly to Minneapolis and Porzana would be one of my top 10 dining experiences and being a Yelp Elite for 10 years, says a lot. I did make reservations on Resy because I did not want to chance a walk in for my party. Ambiance: 5 stars. Very intimate but not "stuffy". A small location so I wouldn't suggest for large groups. Service: 5 stars. Walker B. Was on it tonight. All recommendations were perfect for our family of 4. Food: to die for! I'm still thinking about it in Florida. The table which consisted of 3 adults and one toddler and we shared the dishes. We had the Grain Finished Ribeye Steak, the empanadas (2), the Caesar salad with fries oysters, the tuna crudo, and the mafaldini estofado- which is a short rib pasta. Every single dish was amazing! My 5 year old even enjoyed every single dish! My mother that doesn't like raw fish enjoyed the tuna. It was filling. The drinks were good but the star is the food. Super disappointed given we spent close to $400 on our meal, I've made better steak at home , I'll say the quality of meat was pretty good, however it was mediocre tasting . It was burned almost, and out of everyone who ordered the same steak, mine was the only one cut into prior to receiving, i think it's because they almost overcooked my steak. Nonetheless, the ambience was extremely over and underwhelming , super loud. For a close to $400 meal i expect way better service, taste, and quality dinning . This was a joke ! Also, if you check other reviews for this restaurant it's looking like this is an unfortunate experience for many, incredibly sad. read more
