Macaroni and Cheese
Maria-Elena T.

A friend who frequents Minneapolis occasionally insisted I go there and treated me to dinner. I called and asked about parking before I went there. He Valet with dinner is $20- about same price as an uber. I sat at the bar since I was dining alone and in no hurry. The two male bartenders were super nice and had been working there forever. Locals/others at the bar kept to themselves. I had a perfect dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. I ordered the bone-in ribeye and Mac and cheese. Best steak meal ever. I thought of that steak numerous times over the days I was there. Possibly one of the best steaks of my life. Mac and cheese was death row meal worthy with a layer of melted cheese on top. For dessert I wanted the banana split but they said it was way too big. So I got ice cream with caramel sauce and it was perfect. Seriously highly recommend!!!

The service was great! Greeted us and checked our bags nicely ! The sparkling water is the liter bottle and I loved that as I thought I couldn't drink that much water but it helped me push myself and I did half haha but the photos are great of all the celebrities who come and visit! :) Fun spot! Food I would say 3.7

It has been many years since we have been to Manny's Steakhouse and I'm very glad that we returned for our wedding anniversary dinner a couple of days ago because it was perfect for it. The food was delicious and the service was great. We got two side dishes to share and the french fried onions were even better than expected. I was a little disappointed that they were out of the prime rib (since that is usually my preferred cut of meat to go with) but the bone-in ribeye was a great choice for me - super flavorful. We were treated to a dessert for our anniversary and the Manny's Brownie was quite a treat! We had enough to take some home to share with our kiddos.

He Said: Ah, Manny's. There is a reason why this steakhouse still is around. Even after many years from when I was last at Manny's, the experience is still top notch. The food was very good, and the portions are huge. You have to pay a pretty penny for the food, but I think the price is justified. The ambiance of the place is nice, and the restaurant is connected to the W's main level bar. The shining star of the restaurant is the service. Our server was great (along with the rest of the staff). Pros: - Quality food - Top notch service Cons: - No free parking (that I am aware of)

April is a very busy month for my birthday celebration and I usually dine out all month long this weekend we decided to do MANNY's and be very bougie . Everything was fantastic party of five. We shared the tomahawk steak with the seafood tower, along with all the side dishes Tammy was our server and she phenomenal

Great bartenders and a great bar. They even have boodles gin which is rare. I had the oysters, steak frites and a salad and it was cooked perfectly. A touch on the pricey side but you get what you pay for.

Absolutely phenomenal! One of those places you'd consider going to for your last meal on earth if you got to choose. Everything from the excellent food to the top tier service and elegant but welcoming ambiance was wonderful! We skipped appetizers because we knew we wanted to save room for the giant portions that were the main courses. I dined here with my family of 4 and almost wished there was more of us so we could try more food without filling the fridge with leftovers. I got the bone-in ribeye with garlic butter which I normally get cooked medium and the server recommended getting medium+ because they cook things less than the typical temperature. Even still I felt like my steak was cooked medium rare. That would be my one complaint from the night is that there is a universal scale at which steaks are cooked, why do it differently? The steak was still delicious though. For sides we got the broccoli with hollandaise and the homemade chips. The homemade chips stole the show, they were perfectly cooked and came with a delicious aoili. My mom got the burger with fries and the consensus was the chips took the prize! For dessert we shared the banana cream pie per our server's recommendation and the key like pie. Both were very good. I wish I remembered our server's name because he was spectacular and helped make our first time dining at Manny's one we'll never forget!

SO SO GOOD Manny's Steakhouse in Minneapolis is the rare place that makes you wish rating systems went to six stars. A golden buzzer, if you will. I visited twice in the evening and once for breakfast, and not a single note was missed. Everything was FLAWLESS. The martinis were cold, confident, and dangerously dirty. The calamari was crisp and perfectly seasoned. The atmosphere was loud in just he right way: buzzing, celebratory, alive. Breakfast somehow matched the energy. The Bloody Mary was bold and balanced, not a novelty glass of chaos. The eggs Benedict were genuinely mind-blowing and rich, perfectly cooked, and clearly made by people who care deeply about doing classics correctly. Manny's Steakhouse doesn't just live up to its reputation; it earns it repeatedly. This is a restaurant operating at full confidence, and the experience shows it.

After having happy hour in the living room next door (4-6pm) which is a great place for a cheaper drink before dinner, we got a seat at the bar. Ordered a couple of the house red wines, which I don't recommend. Just pay a couple more dollars for the other reds by the glass. We split the burger which was delicious. Covered in French fried onions and it comes out on split plates which each having a side of fries. It's the perfect amount for two. If you have been in before for the burger, they recently changed it from 2 8 oz smash patties to one 10 oz patty at the same price. Other pictures of the Manny burger are the older and bigger version. Still, this one is great.

Ambiance 5/5 Service 5/5 Food 5/5 Price for value 4/5 on the pricy side but you pay for the quality of food and service and ambiance. Second time here! They never disappoint. Service was too notch, drinks always offered refills before having to ask. Waters refilled, table and plates get cleaned efficiently. It's like a well oiled machine. I love how they show you all of their meats with a meat cart so you know what you are getting before ordering. Love that. Choices are wide and you go from steaks, pork chops to seafood, they have a lot to choose from. Will come back again and again!

Loaded Hash Browns

I wanted to love Manny's, I really did, but for the prices I simply can't afford to go back! I'd much rather dine at Pittsburgh Blue (their sister restaurant) and not leave having to sell a kidney. It would be one thing if the dishes justified the price but unfortunately they don't. The complimentary bread basket was delicious. I like that they offered two different kinds of bread and a cold salted butter. Moving on to the main meal, the hash browns which everyone told me is a "must get" fell so flat. They lacked flavor and salt. The elote corn, which was the special at the time, was good but could stand to be a little more creamy and less spicy. It was tough to make a dent in it because it was too spicy for us. My fried shrimp were way overcooked and left me wishing I just went to Red Lobster instead as they do a better job with their fried shrimp. My husband's steak was cooked nicely but lacked seasoning. Lastly, the bread pudding was fine but the bourbon on top didn't add anything to it. I wish I would have asked for no Maker's Mark poured on top. Even though the food was lack luster, our server was incredible and went very well taken care of. All in all, save some money and visit Pittsburgh Blue! I feel that Manny's was one and done for us.

I've been to Manny's 3 times, twice for dinner and once for lunch. I'm between 3 and 4 starts and going to err a little on the harsh side just because of the price, reputation, and high expectations built up by other Minneapolis folks. The highlight is the presentation where the waiter brings out a bunch of shrink-wrapped steaks and explains the cuts with a comedic presentation. At my most recent visit, my steak was undercooked and I sent it back to finish. Steak sandwich was a good lunch option. I think two of the signature sides, hash browns and glazed/smoked bacon dish are fun but overrated. I was fortunate to have my meal paid for twice at a company event and the other time was for an anniversary dinner when I first moved to the city. Service is great and food is good. I think there are better steakhouses if you're looking for fine dining.

Carissa E.

We had reservations for lunch at mannys, surprisingly I have not dined here before (I know it's a staple!) we actually didn't know there was a different menu for lunch and dinner but we were pleasantly surprised with our menu options. We all ordered the NY strip medium rare, some chose broccolini some chose fries and we ordered the loaded hashbrowns to share. Steaks were cooked perfectly with a nice salty char on the edges, the broccolini was the superior option over the fries and don't even get me started on those loaded hashbrowns - oh my gosh, cheesy, crispy, huge fat chunks of bacon and a nice dollop of sour cream and fresh chives - yum yum yum. The service was fantastic, I made a mistake with the number in my party and they quickly accommodated us.

Ask the Community - Manny's Steakhouse

Going to Manny's in June. I see the dress is casual. If I wear a short sleeve collar shirt, nice golf shorts and dressier sneakers, is this ok?

I wouldn't myself as I have only ever seen people dressed beautifully there. It is a posh restaurant!

In town with my daughter and we only have casual attire. It that a problem? Also, can we make a reservation for this evening?

Casual is fine (I would probably avoid too casual like shorts and flip flops). Reservations are recommended. In a pinch, you can see about sitting in the bar area to be served. It is worth it if you are a carnivore on an expense account!

Is Manny's kid friendly?

I believe it is, how old and well mannered is your kid?? It's somewhat upscale so if I was there and had to deal with a brat !!!!

I was successful found a spot at the end of the bar and was greeted by a few very helpful bartenders who took very good care of me and helped me with recommendations. As this was a solo dining experience it can prove tricky on what to order without going too overboard - especially staying in a hotel without reheating options. I started off with a cocktail called the Santo Drift. Great flavor and smooth. Would've ordered another, but I came in with a plan to only get one cocktail and one wine. I got the empanadas and they were probably one of the best I've ever had. An instant must order. I then ordered the Entraña (6oz) with chimichurri as my sauce. Very traditional and extremely tasty. I was affirmed with my decision to go with my usual medium rare temp - whereas some cuts it was recommended to go Medium and so on. The meat was PERFECT. To go with it I also ordered the pommes puree with garlic gravy - it's as good as it sounds which is VERY GOOD. To go with my steak I paired it myself with a Montepulciano red - one i am very familiar with and paired nicely with the steak and puree. To wrap things up I am a sucker for an Olive Oil cake - theirs was really good. Doesn't beat my all time favorite at a place near me in my hometown, but this one had a nice fruit element different than the typical berries I am used to going with it. As I was enjoying it one of the bartenders came over and provided a lively complimentary liquor - a small but very lovely serving. The atmosphere was exceptional. The service was phenomenal. The food instantly became a top highlight for my trip, and the overall experience has me wanting more.

Plus with our spouses out of town it was a great excuse for a "boys night out" in downtown. Things were a bit quiet (it's January after all) but that was ok with me. We sat in a great two-person booth facing the huge bar. The restaurant features inventive cocktails so I had my usual when places have skilled bartenders-Markers Mark whiskey sour-made perfectly. The food menu features a lot of very reasonably priced fish and seafood dishes and some pricey steaks like a fillet for $88 (wow!). Sides are separate and they've got a long list of tantalizing starters too although you MUST try the amazing shrimp/avocado boats-4 crunchy little endive boats with a delicious ceviche-like mixture of tiny shrimp. Scrumptious!! And just a lite bite so you definitely have room for the fluffy grougheres with the fontina cheese dip. We tried the hanger steak-nicely prepared and the seared halibut with a Moroccan-style sauce-very interesting. For sides we loved the potato pave(square of scalloped potatoes) and the fried eggplant with a sticky honey bbq drizzle. Our server Dominica took excellent care of us a Carl did a nice job assisting-water glasses were always full (to me a mark of a well run place). Alas, as with all the spots on Washington parking can be an issue. They offer valet ($15) but I luckily found a spot on the street 1-block down. Definitely will be back soon.

We arrived around 5:30 p.m., about 30 minutes after opening. The room was dark, cramped, and louder than the small space can really support. The playlist was distracting, and the kitchen staff audibly singing along did not help the atmosphere. Service was well-intentioned but missed the mark. Our server could not tell us whether the main component of a dish was cucumber, fennel, both, or something else, which is a basic menu question at this price point. Timing was off throughout the meal, so if you are expecting polished, well-paced service, I would look elsewhere. The food was the biggest disappointment. I could see an attempt at creativity, but the dishes felt more confused than composed. Several flavors landed at extremes: too sweet, too spicy, or too heavy on fishy funk, without enough balance to pull them together. It felt like "fusion" without a clear point of view. Parking is also difficult in this part of the North Loop, so plan for a ramp, valet, or extra time and money. I would not return for happy hour, dinner, a hosted meal, or a special occasion.

The restaurant itself is really beautiful and it's also very big. I guessed 200 seats plus patio. The space is very elegant, and clearly a lot of attention went into the design. I would describe it as kind of modern steakhouse vibe. Dark wood, faux fur and leather finishes, etc. Elegant. We were seated at a booth by the bar with a big window view of the patio and parking lot. We were immediately slightly offput because the marble ledge separating the booth from the window was dirty - grease and little food crumbs. Not the best first impression. The booth and table were both clean though. Our waitress, Ash, did provide good service but I would say honestly she was a bit too attentive if that makes sense, and she was also too chatty for us. There were several times when she lingered at our table to tell us something we didn't inquire about or to just talk about something. It was a bit annoying honestly. But the service itself was good. We were also visited by a manager during our visit. We each got a mocktail (it was lunch) but they have an impressive drink menu. I got the Red Rose which was really tasty, and my husband got the pineapple drink, which he also said was good. -We ordered the chimichuri shrimp appetizer, which was pretty banging. Four really large shrimp, each on its own piece of bruschetta, doused in chimichuri sauce. Even for me, with a low spice tolerance, it was just the right amount of spice and it was really really good. -We also got a round of oysters. The oysters themselves were fresh - no complaints there. When they were delivered to our table, the person did not tell us which variety was which (pretty standard when serving oysters at any restaurant). Because we eat oysters a lot and one of the varieties was sweet petite, it was fairly easy to tell which was which. But in my opinion, there should have been information given when the oysters were served. The other big issue was the shucking. Some of the oysters hadn't been fully separated from the shell, and we both found ourselves picking bits of shell from our mouths. We actually had a little discussion about the $6 price tag. I felt it was reasonable, my husband felt it was high. But for $6 apiece, the oysters need to be shucked properly and these were not. Ash also made a point to tell us all kinds of information we didn't ask for about their happy hour, which includes $3 oysters. That would be a steal if they learn how to shuck them. -I got the half french dip sandwich, and I was really glad I just ordered the half because what I was served was totally a whole sandwich in my book. The accompanying fries were delicious, crispy, deep golden brown and hot. The au jus served with the sandwich was slightly on the salty side but not terrible. And I do realize it's au jus. In all it was a pretty decent sandwich. -Hubby got the sea bass sandwich, which was also pretty tasty. I'll be honest and say that I think the entree sea bass would have been better. The fish was so good that I don't honestly think you needed the bun. But it was really good and fresh and delicious. We skipped dessert. In all, a pretty solid dining experience and the food was very good. But it was the minor things mentioned that bothered us, so 3 stars with room for improvement upon our return.
