Look at the size of that caramel roll...and it's swimming in sauce!

The food is delicious, the space is huge for a downtown eatery ! Service was good for a busy morning. One thing to note... the booths have hooks on the outside of them which appear to be a safety hazard. I'm saying this because one of the staff's shirt caught on a hook and they dumped a glass of ice water on me... not their fault... but what if that was hot coffee or hot food or something somebody was allergic to? The situation could have gone south fast. As the staff were cleaning up the mess they mentioned how they had told management about the unsafe hooks, and the person mopping up the floor also caught themselves in a hook... Despite the free cold shower I'd definitely eat here again.

Amazing food, the chorizo bowl was delicious and juicy. I had a drink and I liked that it wasn't watered down or too strong (it was just right). The service was great and I like how they offer both indoor and outdoor seating options. It had a cool vibe to and a bright interior color. Will definitely revisit.

We were visiting Minneapolis to attend a concert and wanted to find a nearby breakfast spot. Hen House was a five minute walk from our hotel, so we gave it a try. The restaurant is quite large and super cute. We were greeted and seated right away. The walls have fun little things written in chalk and it is very bright and cheery inside. We received the menu and waited a bit before our order was taken. We did not need to wait long for our food to arrive. My daughter and I ordered the same thing with slight variations--Two Eggs, Potatoes, and Toast. I chose the Hen Potatoes which were amazing! Tender on the inside and slightly crisp on the outside--not greasy at all. My daughter had the hash browns, which were just as good--not greasy, but perfectly crisp and flavorful. The seven grain toast and jam were great and our scrambled eggs were cooked just how we like. My daughter also ordered a fruit cup, which was filled with a bigger variety of fruit than she expected and she loved it. I ordered a side of bacon and it was delicious. While the food wowed us, our service was just okay. She was polite enough, but did not check on us until we were well into our meal. Thankfully, we didn't need anything. Our check and my payment were dealt with promptly, which we appreciated. We also ordered a caramel roll to go and were very glad we did. Super tasty and not overly sweet. If you are in the area, stop in. You will not regret it. The prices are higher, but it is worth every penny. We will definitely be returning when we are in the area.

This was a great find while I was in town. Friendly service, great atmosphere inside. Good thing we got there early because the place got busy in a hurry! The OJ was freshly squeezed and delicious, and I had Isabella's Chorizo omelette and it was delicious! It was huge and I had a hard time trying to finish it. Definitely worth the price, and the wait if you have to wait.

Good breakfast and lunch spot in downtown. This is also a full on bakery with cake, brownies, homemade bread, and damn good coffee. Restaurant is casual diner style and is clean and tidy. Service is prompt and efficient. My four star rating is due mostly to the high cost low value $33 basic breakfast. It was good, but I'm not in La Jolla....

Very inviting breakfast joint in downtown Minneapolis. Staff is very friendly and the decor around the restaurant was quirky and fun. We ordered the carnitas hash, which was filling and delicious. We had the chilaquiles Rojas which is their version of breakfast nachos and the Babes Benedict. The kids' pancake was huge but super cute for the kiddos and $8.00. I would definitely recommend Hen House was groups or families visiting Minneapolis. I liked the strawberry matcha but I really could not get down with the avocado coffee, that was too acquired for me.

I visited Hen House during an early December trip to Minneapolis. I was able to navigate there through the skyway from my hotel. As a solo diner, they put me up at the bar stools near the check-in. The place was decorated for the holidays. They have mugs with sassy sayings and a whole merch section for Hen House aficionados. I had read that this is a popular spot due to its all-day breakfast, particularly the breakfast cocktails, cinnamon rolls, and Southern-style fare. I ordered a cinnamon roll - the only one available was the berry which wouldn't normally be my first choice. It is huge! Super sweet. I also saw that folks recommended the crab eggs benedict. I followed this recommendation and wish I hadn't - it's not what I'd normally get so I don't have a good reference for how good it was or wasn't. To me it was fine but I kind of wish I'd gotten something else, especially for $23. Overall this place has personality and makes good diner style breakfast food. I'd order differently next time, but there would be a next time if I re-visit Minneapolis.

Bright, colorful restaurant with plenty of seating. Cute bakery with lots of treats on the way out! Service was quick and kind, our order was accidentally mixed up with the table next to us and they immediately put in our correct orders which was very nice of them! We had eggs Benedict and the country fried steak with waffles, topping it off with a blueberry cream cheese cinnamon roll. Portions were generous and everything was flavorful! Love this awesome brunch spot!

My initial thoughts when I stepped in were that I was stepping back in time. When I worked downtown a decade or two ago, Peter's was the place for breakfast and often lunch. THough Peter's is missed, Hen House has really made the space their own in a wonderful way. I was very pleased with a number of vegan choices on their menu. I ordered the vegan breakfast hash, and it is one of the best I've had in the Twin Cities. The bloody Mary was also good and I really appreciated that they included a beer chaser with it. It was a really great place for brunch in downtown Minneapolis. I would definitely stop back.

Good food and service. And super fast. Walked in on a Saturday morning and was pleasantly surprised to get seated right away. Ordered the carnitas hash and it came out in less than 10 minutes. Very fresh flavors. Server was amazing. When I said we were in a hurry, she suggested over easy vs poached eggs. And she got us the bill and boxes right away. And split the check by what we ordered and came back in seconds with our cards.

This place gets really busy, and we went on a Saturday early afternoon, which probably didn't help. The wait ended up being 30-45 minutes, and there weren't many places to sit while we waited. The restaurant gives diner vibes and was full of people. Once we were seated, our server was attentive and helpful with menu questions. I really enjoy a good omelette, and Hen House has truly mastered it. The menu has a great variety--my kids were even able to order lunch instead of breakfast. All the food was really good, and I would definitely go back and recommend it to others.

This place ROCKS. Visited from out of town on Saturday morning, waited about 20 minutes to sit at the bar and get some food. They are like a machine in there! Service was great! Our server was lovely and was extremely kind. The place is so busy and packed but once you're seated you can't even tell. It was awesome. I had biscuits and gravy, and split a plain pancake with my party. Also had some vanilla iced lattes. So good! Will definitely be returning. Best brunch we had in Minneapolis.

Hen House was very tasty! Came on the Sunday after Valentine's Day. Made it RIGHT before the crowd came in. The waitress was very nice and the food was good. The omelet eaten was good, but could have been bigger. I enjoyed the French toast a lot and the sausage. Definitely a good breakfast spot to hit up
