Great spot to grab a bite before a Timberwolves game. It's a 4 minute walk from Target Center, and there is a parking ramp located at the bottom of the hotel this restaurant is in. Parking was surprisingly affordable -- we parked from 6-11pm and were only charged $6. Prices at Wood + Paddle are pretty reasonable for the area. Service was friendly and food came out fast. The chicken wild rice soup wasn't creamy and the broth tasted like half and half -- it could've used more seasoning. The fried sunnies were good and the sweet potato fries were thin and crispy. The dry rub wings were flavorful and on the saltier side, which I enjoyed. The flourless chocolate torte was rich and the berry sauce was fresh.

Cheese curds

The cheese curds were delicious. No idea what the sauce was that came with it. The hot honey chicken sandwich was ok. HUGE AND JUICY! But it didn't have much flavor I would eat here again

I was in town for a conference and a group of 8 of us wanted to eat for a dinner outside of the conference. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated in a private room that had velvet drapes we could close for privacy and noise abatement. It was a perfectly sized room for our group.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was also lovely with an upscale decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our group shared some plates of cheese curds, which were delicious. We also had a variety of cocktails and mocktails, all of which were fresh tasting and creative. I had the hibiscus mocktail, which had a complex and not super sweet taste. It was delicious! We all ordered a variety of food, and everyone liked it all. Some ordered the duck stroganoff and said it was delicious with a complex taste. I ordered the pork chop, which was perfectly done. Others ordered the fish and said it too was delicious. For dessert, I split the creme brulee with a friend. It was the perfect size for sharing and had a wonderful, browned sugar glaze. The service was on point and a fine balance between taking care of us while also being invisible. If I ever find myself in Minneapolis again, I'll for sure come here again.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is great for a quick bite or hanging out for dinner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The vibe is laid back, the food is good with an affordable price point and the bartenders mix up some of the best Old Fashions around. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a full bar in the rear with stools and table seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The front dining room has a view of the open kitchen.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Located in the Royal Sonesta Hotel, a great option for grub without leaving the premises.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute place and great service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was sadly just mediocre, nothing I would want to eat again. The mushroom stuffing was bland and the mushrooms weren't cooked enough. The slaw with the chicken sandwich had an odd flavor, and the cheese curds had no pull to them and a weird spice.

The customer service wasn't that great . The food wasn't that great they need to take the Hummus Plate off the menu. Skillet Cornbread & Stuffed Cremini Mushrooms was good could have been better if both were hot. Chicken wings were ok. I wouldn't go back .

Had lunch here and got the salmon salad and an iced tea. The salmon was a touch undercooked (rare instead of mid rare) but they corrected it so quickly and it came out perfect and hot so it was barely disruptive at all. It was tender and I would highly prefer under than over any day. Good amount of salad dressing and everything was fresh. I do wish they had more GF options but it was a little limited.

Stopped in for an early dinner before a show at the Orpheum. Service was good, good was great, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]really enjoyed the vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Looking forward to visiting again.

In town on business, we came to Wood + Paddle after our initial restaurant was closed for a private event. We lucked-out, because WPE was perfect. Service was friendly and attentive, drinks were well made and the food was exactly what we were looking for. We wanted to eat light, so I had garlic wings and an order of sunnies, along with my W+P Old Fashioned. Cooked perfectly, well seasoned and nice portions.

Cocktail: Seven Cinns was delicious! Tasted like an apple pie cocktail. Appetizer: The skillet cornbread was not my favorite but the fried cheese curds were yummy! Entree: I had the Blue Cornmeal Crusted Walleye and I really liked it with the sweet corn relish and the green pea cream. It made the dish! I tried my husbands Duck Confit Stroganoff which was also very tasty!

The servers were just amazing- so kind and attentive. The bartender made us delicious cocktails and we had small bites because we went in around 2 pm where they were serving a limited menu. We had the jalapeño cornbread a side of fries and the Hummus plate with fresh vegetable vegetables. Everything was delicious and tasted very fresh.

Such a great brunch spot -- everything we had was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully done. The Minnesota Malted Waffle with chocolate chips was an instant favorite: crispy edges, soft center, and just the right amount of sweetness. Perfect with a coffee on the side. I went with the Veggie Omelet, which was packed with cremini mushrooms, tomato, onion, and spinach -- super hearty and well-seasoned without feeling heavy. Also tried the Quiche Lorraine, which was rich and creamy with a flaky crust, served with a light and refreshing side salad. Both the veggie and quiche options were generously portioned and really well-executed (Quiche Lorraine - $18, Veggie Omelet - $16). [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space has a warm, modern vibe -- clean, cozy, and perfect for a relaxed brunch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Definitely a spot I'd return to when in the area!

They have QR codes on each table so you can order on your phone, and they have WiFi available. Alternatively, someone can take your order if you'd prefer! For the burgers, you can choose between the impossible patty or the black bean patty. For the chicken sandwiches, you can choose grilled or fried vegan chicken. For beverages, they have cocktails, mocktails, wine, beer, THC drinks, milkshakes, pop, lemonade, and more! There are so many options which is great! The fries are crispy! One of my friends went with the ranch fries which were good, but in my opinion it was not worth the $2 upcharge for the amount of seasoning that comes on them. I would recommend sticking with the regular fries and ordering a side of ranch as a dipping sauce instead! This is the only place that I'm aware of where you can get a vegan juicy lucy! It is very cheesy, and it's fun that there's a meatless version of a MN classic! It was messy to eat though so make sure to have a napkin nearby! I really enjoyed the atmosphere, and would go back! I think it's be a great place for hanging out with friends, especially if there are any vegans or vegetarians in the group!

Upon entering we were greeted by a woman who was clearly wearing multiple hats as she seemed rushed, a bit off putting and quite frankly distracted. It was Juneteenth the middle of the afternoon and there were maybe 6 people at the bar and one other table besides ours with 2 diners. The person seating us was also our server and the bartender. Menu is small but the items we ordered were all fabulous! Every single one! The collard green dip with cornbread pita chips was absolutely delicious - Think spinach artichoke dip but soul food! The salmon croquettes with lemon herb aioli and arugula salad that accompanied were fresh and light! The catfish sandwich with fries was hot, crispy and well seasoned with fresh lettuce and tomato on a perfectly tender brioche bun. I want to return so bad for the food but it was clear this host, server, bartender and partial cook was pulled in too many directions and that severely compromised our service and gave us stand off energy as first time patrons. I looked it up and she is actually one of the owners. She came across as irritated especially once we didn't order any alcoholic drinks first and then very short and curt following. What took the cake was her telling us she was leaving for the day and needed to close our tab while we were eating. Didn't ask did we want to order anything else and there was another server taking her place and an empty restaurant! My partner had to put his sandwich down wipe his hands pull out his wallet while she stood there impatiently. Then proceeded to linger around hugging her regular bar patrons. It was clear this is a "regulars" spot and if you're not one you're rolling the dice on the service you may or may not get. We were patient and didn't complain because it was Juneteenth and our intention to support black restaurants all weekend. I have many previous years in the industry as a cook, host and GM and I was stunned to know that she was one of the owners when I looked it up. Had planned to return for live music but unfortunately the off putting energy and unwelcoming vibe may have squashed that possibility. I hope they improve service because the food is delicious and deserves attention from a larger and more sophisticated audience.

This makes the burger really chewy and you really can't taste the beef anymore like you used to when it was thicker. I would take this as it's not as good as it used to be. It is not as good as the original hype from the beginning. In conclusion, I do not think it's worth the $19. I rather get a cheesesteak for $16 at Tono's which comes with fresh not burnt fries rather than come back here and get a burger here. It's highly unlikely I will be back here. I honestly feel like the burgers have gone way WAY downhill. The fries here have gotten terrible so I stopped getting the fries a long time ago. They are not soft crisp like they used to be. They are too golden brown color, almost like burnt hard fries. I never like to eat down here. I normally would order the Parlour burger upstairs. The basement part which is Parlour has a weird smell like a locker room smell so that's why I don't like to eat down here.
