First time trying Francis but I've heard such good things! I got the chicken nuggets, ranch fries, and my dad got a burger and a milkshake. My brother always gets the juicy Lucy. Everything was tasty and the service was great. The food is on the pricier side but understandably so.

Francis Burger Joint is more than just a vegan spot; it's a fantastic neighborhood burger joint that everyone, meat-eaters included, needs to check out. Perfect spot in the Longfellow neighborhood; the atmosphere is chill and inviting, hitting that perfect blend of dark, moody bar (for the grown-ups) and a separate, family-friendly dining room with cool art! I went for the Rodeo Burger and it was a revelation; always on my "to eat list" finally ordered it. Now you have to get the fries. Their shoestring fries are crispy perfection, and dipping them in the BBQ Aioli is mandatory! Seriously, even non-vegans will prefer it. They also boast Minnesota's only fully vegan full bar, so if you're looking for a meticulously sourced cocktail or a good beer, this is your place. The staff are welcoming and the service is quick. This place is proof that you don't need meat to have a crave-able, decadent, and satisfying burger experience. Go! You won't regret it.

Overall it was just ok. You do get the opinion of a vegan burger vs beef but I felt the texture was more vegan than beef. The person I was with didnt love their chicken sandwich either. Service was super friendly and cool location, just not my type of food.

Vibes were immaculate here! The wall art is so fun and cute. My sister is vegetarian so she was really excited to try the burgers and everything else here. As a meat eater, I was pleasantly surprised by my Francisco burger (which was an impossible patty) not too dry and the flavor was great! The jalapenos added a nice touch as well. I thoroughly enjoyed my fries, they were perfectly cripsy and were hot right off the fryer. My sister ordered the truffle fries, those were a bit too salty to my liking. The mixed sorbet was very good too! I liked the orange flavor more than the vanilla, the vanilla didnt taste like much. The tables and bathrooms were clean and service was super nice.

Francis is hands-down one of my favorite burger joints. With locations in both Northeast and South Minneapolis, it's always easy to stop by. The servers are consistently warm and welcoming, and the burgers taste just like the originals even though they're plant-based, I honestly don't miss the meat. Their drinks are always crafted with care and taste amazing. This is the kind of place I'll keep coming back to again and again.

Francis Burger Joint far exceeded expectations and might actually be my new favorite vegan spot ever. To be fair, I haven't actually had a burger yet because the fried chicken is just so unbelievably good that it's hard to branch out. It did take us a bit to be seated, but it was a busy Saturday when we went so that was completely understandable. I know a lot of people miss having menus, but being able to order directly through a QR code is extremely handy when the wait staff have their hands full (literally). The overall atmosphere is super cute, it looked like they were working on a patio out front for the summer which will be nice to catch some rays while sipping on a "milk"shake. The chicken and milkshake do have the *slightly* vegan off-taste that most fake meats and milks can have, but honestly it was the closest vegan chicken I have ever had to the real thing and the taste was so good that I actually might prefer it. They also have a solid beer list including NA beer, and a full bar. Overall, we will absolutely be back to get our fill of ethical diner food as and drinks!

Cozy, hip, stylish, and very comfortable burger joint with amazing service. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted. It's open seating; sit down, scan the QR code at the table, and place your order. I recommend spacing your order out if you're ordering a few items and creating a tab. The food came out fairly quickly and all at the same time, so next time, I will order my salad and wine first, then add my burger and dessert after I finish. I ordered the Francis Burger and added bacon and jalapenos. It came with fries. I had half an order of wedge salad. For my beverage, I took advantage of the happy hour and ordered a glass of wine $4, and for dessert, I had a lavender milkshake. Everything was 10/10, seriously, no complaints. The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. This is a no tip establishment, and everyone I interacted with had a smile, was friendly, and appeared to enjoy their job. Whatever dressing they use on the salad was fire , and the toppings were very fresh, and the half portion was very filling. The burger was very juicy, all the ingredients were fresh, the bun was soft, and the cheese had a good texture and was actually melted. I enjoyed every bite, and the fries were very crispy and fried to perfection. The sauce that I ordered on the side, let's just say, I should have ordered two. The lavender milkshake was tasty and had no hint of artificial flavors. I only recommend ordering this if you enjoy lavender. The inside is just funky and hip, and the music playlist was perfect, perfect tunes while enjoying a meal. Thanks for the great meal.

WOW. I can't stop telling people about Francis Burger Joint! Their chai milkshake was hands down one of the best milkshakes I've ever had. The fact that it's made with coconut milk is just the cherry on top! And speaking of cherry, I had their cherry soda and gin cocktail and also loved that. They make their cherry soda in house and it's perfectly tart and sweet. Lastly, the burger. I am so impressed by the attention to flavor and texture at this restaurant. I've been to too many vegetarian places that miss the mark on flavor but Francis gets it right! I've recommended this place to friends and can't wait to be back soon.

Love this place. So, the story is that it was one of those cloudy cool summer nights, and we found ourselves in the Longfellow neighborhood along Lake Street. We drove by, and while it was too cool for the patio to be open, the patio lights were on, and it looked like a party. Walking in, we were greeted warmly and this place has a great vibe -- like cool to bring friends vibe -- and the food is great. We had no idea that it was a vegetarian/vegan restaurant, and I gotta tell you the patty melt and fries I had were really so good. The beer was icy cold. The server was fun, the bar is stocked, and we're going back. You order via a QR at your table, the tip for service is already included in the prices -- the whole experience was fun. Next time, trying the meatless chicken and some cocktails. Something I'm looking forward to!

This is an update to my original review and in response to the owners response (pictured) because I won't be gaslighted/ or bullied into silence or not exercising my freedom of speech and not speaking my truth. To address your claims of multiple reviews, I wrote and posted one, I have yet to be able to figure out why when I post a review it then post to all of my accounts (something that has been happening since before this post so save it) Your FALSE ALLEGATIONS are harassment, I spoke my truth and experience! Furthermore, I responded politely and honestly to you and the co-owner via email (which I can/ will post as well), to which NEITHER OF YOU REPLIED TO. I stand by my review and can see the poor service starts at the top/ from within. I have ZERO problems NOT COMING BACK TO EITHER LOCATION. I WILL pray for you. BLESSINGS After trying the Northeast location I figured I'd try this one since it's closer to my neighborhood, BIG mistake!! I was told my order would be ready in 10-15 minutes, it was more like 40 minutes!! I thought for sure my food would at least be hot after the long wait...nope, everything was cold!! I ordered the Brussels sprouts and Juicy Lucy burger, both weren't warm. The Brussels sprouts were burnt and over salted, the burger was haphazardly put together so it didn't maintain its shape. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!! I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND this location!! Do yourself a favor and go to the Northeast location- better food, better service!!

This was our first time at the new Lake Street Francis & it didn't disappoint! The space is so cute & feels very open & airy. They were working on what looks to be a future patio, so that's exciting as well! As with their other location, the food is SO GOOD. It's obviously not real meat, there's still that tiny bit of alt flavor, but that literally doesn't matter. I tried the special, the Couch Potato, & it was really tasty. Their fries also can't be beat, they're perfectly crispy & well seasoned. I also had a Petal to the Metal cold brew, which was pretty tasty but really expensive for a cold brew. It was supposed to have house-made whip on top, but there just seemed to be some coffee foam on top, & it didn't taste creamy at all. I brought it home & added some creamer & then it was tops! It did take a while for us to be sat, but I appreciate their QR code ordering process. Once we had a server, they were great! I'm sure there are just some kinks to work out with a new spot. Overall, I'll definitely be back & can't wait to hang out on their future patio space!

The Eat Lake location is cozy, with soft pink booths and gently glowing neon lights. Orders are placed via QR code, so service is quick and you don't need to wait to close out your bill. I liked my burger a lot, but wish they had more black bean burger options on the menu instead of primarily using Impossible burger. Love that they have non-dairy ice cream, but would probably go with a basic vanilla next time.

Amazing! I can't believe this was my first time hearing about this restaurant! The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming. I have both dairy and gluten allergies, and even though the entire menu is vegan, they were able to accommodate me with great care. While they do note they can't guarantee zero cross-contamination, they do have a separate fryer, which is reassuring. I was beyond excited to discover they offer vegan milkshakes--and they are absolutely delicious! It's such a relief to have another trusted spot that understands and respects food allergies. The atmosphere is fun and cozy, and I loved that I could order via a QR code if I wanted a low-key experience. The QR menu was also very informative about gluten allergies. Of course, if you prefer, the friendly staff is always nearby and happy to help. Despite it being busy, my food arrived incredibly fast. This is a tip-free restaurant that prices food fairly to ensure livable wages for their staff--a commitment I really admire and think deserves more recognition. The quality and ethics behind this place make it worth every penny. I'm genuinely excited about this restaurant--from the fantastic food to their inspiring story and dedication to fair pay. Side note: For anyone hesitant about vegan food, this is the perfect place to try it. My boyfriend, who doesn't have allergies or experience with vegan meats, said he loved it and could hardly tell the difference!

When I go to new cities, I typically seek out food that is specific to the region and thus a little more interesting to me. You can get a burger anywhere, and a cheese filled patty, aka a "Juicy Lucy", didn't sound like something I needed to try. But my husband kept talking about it and really seemed bent on having one so we decided to come here to try it out. We showed up during their happy hour, from 4-5pm, and they had $5 draft beers. Score! It's a cute place with ample seating, nice natural light from the large windows, and a relaxed atmosphere. I ordered the Juicy Lucy, a burger patty stuffed with cheese and topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and pub sauce. I chose the Impossible patty version, but you can also get it with their house made black bean burger. Hubby chose the Garlic Girl, a black bean cheeseburger topped with bacon (also made in-house), berbere aioli, lettuce, and pickled onion. Each burger came with fries. Both burgers were spectacular and delicious in their own way. The bacon on hubby's burger was incredible, and his burger was rich and satisfying. By my Juicy Lucy, oh my... Every bite was a flavor explosion and intensely delicious without being a gut bomb shockingly. To top it off, the fries were super crispy and just perfect. WOW is all I can say. Note that while the prices may seem a little higher than what you might expect, Francis Burger is a no tipping establishment, as stated on their menu. For the quality of the food and the great service, it was well worth the price! I'll be back if I'm ever in this area again.f

Then came the sweet potatoes, and oh my God, I think they were the best sweet potatoes I've ever had. They were unbelievably, delectably sweet and cooked perfectly. They had an excellent char while being soft on the inside. And the sweetness was complemented nicely by the maple chili crisp, which had just a bit of a kick. The bison skirt steak tacos were also delicious. The bison was so tender and juicy. Full of flavor and cooked superbly. My server wasn't kidding when she said the tacos were big enough to share between a few people. I ate the tacos by myself, and I was beyond stuffed. Alas, I wasn't a big fan of the spoonbread. The flavor wasn't bad, but I didn't care for the texture, which was a little too coarse for me. The dessert was gluten-free, and I could REALLY tell. It was also too spicy for me. The spoonbread was drenched in hot honey. But the sweet potatoes, tacos, and attentive & friendly service more than made up for it. The restaurant isn't cheap (especially for a solo diner), but I've seen worse prices for worse food. And I'm eager to check out their new location the next time I'm in Minneapolis.
