They have QR codes on each table so you can order on your phone, and they have WiFi available. Alternatively, someone can take your order if you'd prefer! For the burgers, you can choose between the impossible patty or the black bean patty. For the chicken sandwiches, you can choose grilled or fried vegan chicken. For beverages, they have cocktails, mocktails, wine, beer, THC drinks, milkshakes, pop, lemonade, and more! There are so many options which is great! The fries are crispy! One of my friends went with the ranch fries which were good, but in my opinion it was not worth the $2 upcharge for the amount of seasoning that comes on them. I would recommend sticking with the regular fries and ordering a side of ranch as a dipping sauce instead! This is the only place that I'm aware of where you can get a vegan juicy lucy! It is very cheesy, and it's fun that there's a meatless version of a MN classic! It was messy to eat though so make sure to have a napkin nearby! I really enjoyed the atmosphere, and would go back! I have never actually eaten in person at Francis, but I love to get takeout from here! They have a good variety of burger toppings to get. However, my go to is the Rodeo Burger. I love a burger with a little crunch and the fake bacon definitely fulfills that wish for me. The BBQ aioli and jalapeños go together so well! Their fries are good too. Super nice staff encounter upon entering. It was our first time and this place is cute and cool. I thought they had a decent amount of things on the menu considering they're a vegan burger joint. Second time we have come here for dinner. They have a parking lot, and we were able to snag a space this time. Love the patio! The manager is really friendly, and we ordered via the online menu, although they do offer paper menus. We tried the Garlic Girl, and Francis burgers (one bean and one Impossible). Love the fries! Everything was very tasty. My daughter tried a Strawberry shake which was really delicious, and my husband tried a really tart hibiscus NA drink that he liked a lot. Had an opportunity to try this Vegan burger spot so I decided to order to-go and was surprised by a few things. First the service was quick. I love Francis Burger Joint. This was my first time at their original Lake St location. The first time I tried them was their NE location. Everything, even the alcohol, is vegan! So if you are a true vegan you don't need to worry about checking on anything. I am not vegan or vegetarian even but I love this place. The food is amazing, burgers are delicious. They have impossible patties if you're nervous about trying the black bean patties. The fries and condiments are all amazing. The only questionable thing to me is the grilled chicken for the sandwiches. I didn't try that and my coworker who ordered it wasn't necessarily raving, however I know for facts the burgers are tasty asl. Service is very attentive and friendly. Vibes were immaculate here! The wall art is so fun and cute. My sister is vegetarian so she was really excited to try the burgers and everything else here. As a meat eater, I was pleasantly surprised by my Francisco burger (which was an impossible patty) not too dry and the flavor was great! The jalapenos added a nice touch as well. I thoroughly enjoyed my fries, they were perfectly cripsy and were hot right off the fryer. My sister ordered the truffle fries, those were a bit too salty to my liking. Francis Burger Joint far exceeded expectations and might actually be my new favorite vegan spot ever. To be fair, I haven't actually had a burger yet because the fried chicken is just so unbelievably good that it's hard to branch out. It did take us a bit to be seated, but it was a busy Saturday when we went so that was completely understandable. I know a lot of people miss having menus, but being able to order directly through a QR code is extremely handy when the wait staff have their hands full (literally). The overall atmosphere is super cute, it looked like they were working on a patio out front for the summer which will be nice to catch some rays while sipping on a "milk"shake. The chicken and milkshake do have the *slightly* vegan off-taste that most fake meats and milks can have, but honestly it was the closest vegan chicken I have ever had to the real thing and the taste was so good that I actually might prefer it. The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. This is a no tip establishment, and everyone I interacted with had a smile, was friendly, and appeared to enjoy their job. Whatever dressing they use on the salad was fire , and the toppings were very fresh, and the half portion was very filling. The burger was very juicy, all the ingredients were fresh, the bun was soft, and the cheese had a good texture and was actually melted. I enjoyed every bite, and the fries were very crispy and fried to perfection. The sauce that I ordered on the side, let's just say, I should have ordered two. The lavender milkshake was tasty and had no hint of artificial flavors. I only recommend ordering this if you enjoy lavender. WOW. I can't stop telling people about Francis Burger Joint! Their chai milkshake was hands down one of the best milkshakes I've ever had. The fact that it's made with coconut milk is just the cherry on top! And speaking of cherry, I had their cherry soda and gin cocktail and also loved that. They make their cherry soda in house and it's perfectly tart and sweet. Lastly, the burger. I am so impressed by the attention to flavor and texture at this restaurant. Love this place. So, the story is that it was one of those cloudy cool summer nights, and we found ourselves in the Longfellow neighborhood along Lake Street. We drove by, and while it was too cool for the patio to be open, the patio lights were on, and it looked like a party. Walking in, we were greeted warmly and this place has a great vibe -- like cool to bring friends vibe -- and the food is great. We had no idea that it was a vegetarian/vegan restaurant, and I gotta tell you the patty melt and fries I had were really so good. The beer was icy cold. The server was fun, the bar is stocked, and we're going back. You order via a QR at your table, the tip for service is already included in the prices -- the whole experience was fun. Furthermore, I responded politely and honestly to you and the co-owner via email (which I can/ will post as well), to which NEITHER OF YOU REPLIED TO. I stand by my review and can see the poor service starts at the top/ from within. I have ZERO problems NOT COMING BACK TO EITHER LOCATION. I WILL pray for you. BLESSINGS After trying the Northeast location I figured I'd try this one since it's closer to my neighborhood, BIG mistake!! I was told my order would be ready in 10-15 minutes, it was more like 40 minutes!! I thought for sure my food would at least be hot after the long wait...nope, everything was cold!! I ordered the Brussels sprouts and Juicy Lucy burger, both weren't warm. The Brussels sprouts were burnt and over salted, the burger was haphazardly put together so it didn't maintain its shape. Amazing. I don't follow a vegan diet. I tried this place out on a whim. They got everything right: the cheese tastes like cheese, the mayo tastes like mayo, the 'meat' tastes great. This was our first time at the new Lake Street Francis & it didn't disappoint! The space is so cute & feels very open & airy. They were working on what looks to be a future patio, so that's exciting as well! As with their other location, the food is SO GOOD. It's obviously not real meat, there's still that tiny bit of alt flavor, but that literally doesn't matter. I tried the special, the Couch Potato, & it was really tasty. Their fries also can't be beat, they're perfectly crispy & well seasoned. I also had a Petal to the Metal cold brew, which was pretty tasty but really expensive for a cold brew. It was supposed to have house-made whip on top, but there just seemed to be some coffee foam on top, & it didn't taste creamy at all. I brought it home & added some creamer & then it was tops! It did take a while for us to be sat, but I appreciate their QR code ordering process. Once we had a server, they were great! I'm sure there are just some kinks to work out with a new spot. Amazing! I can't believe this was my first time hearing about this restaurant! The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming. I have both dairy and gluten allergies, and even though the entire menu is vegan, they were able to accommodate me with great care. While they do note they can't guarantee zero cross-contamination, they do have a separate fryer, which is reassuring. I was beyond excited to discover they offer vegan milkshakes--and they are absolutely delicious! It's such a relief to have another trusted spot that understands and respects food allergies. The atmosphere is fun and cozy, and I loved that I could order via a QR code if I wanted a low-key experience. The QR menu was also very informative about gluten allergies. Of course, if you prefer, the friendly staff is always nearby and happy to help. Despite it being busy, my food arrived incredibly fast. Francis Burger Joint took over the old Peppers & Fries on Lake Street. It's a great addition to the neighborhood with friendly staff, dimmed lighting with a red/pink theme, and great food. Francis opened a new location in my neighborhood and it's great! The popular, vegan, burger joint has always sounded like a contradiction in terms, but if you just suspend your disbelief and try it, you find yourself at a good burger spot and forget that it's not beef in that bun.
