I opted for a cheeseburger - very good smash burger. I have had the Double Double in the past and that is probably my favorite burger with two smash burger patties, cheese and special sauce. It was time for my monthly dinner with a friend, and she chose Red Cow. A longtime ago, I remember coming here for brunch, but it had been so many years that I barely remembered it. I made a last-minute reservation online, which was quick and seamless. Parking was easy enough, there's a small lot, plus plenty of street parking options. We were seated right away when we arrived, though unfortunately at a very small two-person table with very limited space. It worked out, but next time I'd definitely request something a bit roomier. We arrived during happy hour but skipped it since we didn't want to spoil our meals. For dinner, I ordered the double barrel burger with a side of fries, and my friend got the fried chicken sandwich with a side of fries. I enjoyed my meal, however, my friend thought the food was very salty and that maybe the chicken sandwich was fried in the same oil as the fish as it didn't taste much like chicken. We thought the portions were big enough that we had leftovers to take home. Service was just okay...nothing particularly memorable. The most uncomfortable part of the experience was our table location right by the door. I was surprised at this place. I was visiting and we walked for miles looking around and needed somewhere for lunch on the weekend. Found this place and it had good reviews on Google so we stopped in. The avocado toast was awesome, I loved the huevos divorcos or something like that and my husband got this funny burger with peanut butter and it was oddly good too. The buffalo cauliflower was delish, but a TINY portion for what you pay. Would I come back? yes. The service was great and it was a fun spot for a weekend brunch. read more

St. Paul is filled with many eateries but this one is a great one for locals and tourists. We had the cheese curds, which of course were delicious. For entree we chose burgers. Can't go wrong with any of their options. I will say, it is very busy inside and outside. Come prepared with a lot of patience. We had some difficulty finding parking, but we managed to find a spot around the corner. Inside it's roomy with a bar on the first floor. There is a second level with more space to dine. We needed somewhere to eat and this restaurant was a few miles away. Because it was early for dinner we were immediately seated. We were upstairs. Our waitress was amazing, attentive and knowledgeable. I had water and my husband had beer. We decided to have an appetizer, split a salad and then split a bowl. The kitchen actually sent our salad and bowl out already split. The food was well seasoned. I loved the spice they added to the apple Brie toast. Both the salad and bowl were so good. I would definitely come back. There were a few more things on the menu I wanted to try. The decor is cute with the cow theme. If it's possible I would make a reservation. Cheese curds for the table were a hit! My hubby and niece had the 60/40 burger (beef & bacon) and while they liked it, the candied bacon topping was a little too sweet. I recently checked out Red Cow on Selby in Saint Paul, and this place was a vibe! I never knew it had two floors, so it was pretty nice to dine on the second floor for my date--it was a bit quieter up there. I started off with the ahi crisps, which were sooooooo good! I was tempted to order a second round, but I realized I had to save space for the burger. I don't recall the exact burger I had, but I remember the bacon on it was delicious! We went here on a Thursday evening. We had 4 in our group and had a great experience. Love the warm lighting and the service was great. We had cheese curds for an app and they were fantastic. The food itself is excellent. They have a wide variety of options and they seem to do well with all of them. However, I would not recommend this restaurant for takeout. We have tried three times and each time the order was incorrect. On the third try, they left out one of the burgers. I reached out to them and never received anything -- not an apology or a credit for the missing food. The service is always great and I love the fact that you could go in here anytime of day during business hours and find anything on the menu whether it's for A business lunch, for happy hour during the game or for date night. I love coming to red cow a lot because of their burgers and specifically the blues. Service was great and we were able to sit down right away. The road was closed because of construction so we had to park a little bit farther away. Both the Swiss burger. I had the aqua fresca which is always delicious and I'm glad that you can have a great selection of non alcoholic drinks. We had the avocado cheesecake for dinner and it was really good. My fiancé was a tree but allergy and didn't think that the avocado cheese cake had nuts because the ingredients on the menu weren't listed as avocado cheesecake with walnuts so we thought the dessert would be okay. Once we finish the dessert my fiancé starts getting a funny feeling in his mouth and decides to ask our server if it had nits and she says walnuts. At this point we know we have to go to the emergency room. Our server is obviously freaked out and feels really bad. We didn't have an epi pen so we searched for the bearers hospital. She told us if we could call and give an update and I said yes. We were able to get to the emergency room in time and ended up staying there passed midnight. It wasn't the evening we expected but I did call and gave an update that my fiancé was able to get the medical help he needed. I am going to be asking more if food has nuts because now I feel like even if something on the menu doesn't say it has nuts there can be a possibility that it does and it sucks to have to be asking a lot more now instead of being able to see on the menu all the meal has. read more

There was also a side aioli sauce that went well with the wings. The Japanese sauce was tasty, just enough spice to not make it too sweet. For an entrée, I had the Barcelona burger. It came with manchego, prosciutto, a piquillo pepper, and a smoked pepper aioli. It also came with a side of fries that were solid. I opted for the burger to be medium rare, but it was more of a medium, not a huge deal. The burger to bun ratio was ideal while the toppings were satisfying.
