We went on a Sunday around 430 and we got right in. No one was sitting in the restaurant and only at the bar. Overall the service was quick and the waitress was friendly. Food 3/5: the cheese curds really stole the show with the salty and sweet matchup with the sauce. Everything else was ok. The tots were overcooked, the steak fajita didn't have much flavor. I asked for the sauce and cheese on the side, but did not get either. The elote was the best thing on the plate. Overall this experience was ok. There was also a fly that would not leave us alone, which is annoying during a dining experience. If you're looking for a dice bar in the area, this is an ok option. read more

I love to stop into Buster's whenever we land at the airport in the afternoon. The menu is nicely varied and includes a lot more options than the typical pub or beer bar (though it includes some of that standard fare also). The beer list is one of the best in the Twin Cities, and the selections rotate quite frequently. The bartender is always attentive and food comes out promptly. Parking can be a bit of a challenge at times, with cars lined up for hundreds of yards down both sides of the street. I've learned to drop off my "date" and have her place an order for me so that it arrives when I do! read more

Wow. About 5 years ago I left a glowing review for this neighborhood gem. I went to pick up a dinner order today and I take back my last review. I called on Memorial Day and placed a phone order because the online ordering system on the Buster's website was down. No problem, the order was done over the phone, and pick up would be ready in 15 minutes. I live 5 minutes away, so no problem. 8 minutes later I show up to pick up the food. This place was dead, which just 3 people at the bar. This place is usually packed for happy hour at 4:00pm. At least my food was ready when I arrived. I paid, left a good tip, and went back home. When I opened the food at home, I was disappointed. I ordered the homemade vinegar chips to find just plain chips. What? This was one of the standouts when Triple D aired for this joint. I double checked their website, and sure enough, just plain chips now. Dang. Well that was in me. What wasn't on me was the horrible pale looking limp fries. I literally live 5 minutes away, but the fries were cold and limp. Even putting them in the air fryer didn't help. The chicken sandwich I got for the kid was dry, and also came with the sad limp fries. The wife's CCC burger looked pretty good though, but we had to throw the fries away. My dry rub wings were the only saving Grace of the entire meal. Sad. Won't be eating here again. read more

We typically come here about once a year and we're never disappointed. Tonight we both had a craft tap beer and they were cold and tasty. Very nice tap selection. I had the walleye Rachel with house made chips and their delicious onion dip. Hubby had the Ruben with onion rings. Both were exceptional. As was the service. Highly recommend! read more

One of these days, I will hit this place up in the afternoon/evening. I've always been here for brunch, and I am always walking away happy with a full belly. Firstly, they have a pretty good tap selection for anyone's palate. Sours?, Stouts? Lagers? IPAs? they've got something to please you. They even have wine if that's your thing. Overall, I love the food. The burgers are plenty solid. Juicy, and well made, and more importantly, they are not overcooked. We have had their hash, eggs benedict, and their sausage and gravy. They are all phenomenal...that may be the beer talking, but who knows? if you are on the south side, get here, get beer, and enjoy. read more

Heard about this place while watching Double Ds on tv. We knew we had to try it! Being local, I was surprised I never had heard of this awesome spot. The inside is super cozy, a true pub like ambiance and lots of different brews on tap. Our waitress was super nice, very helpful with the menu and what's popular. Service was just top notch. I decided on the Brie Burger and subbed it with a Bison patty - which was AMAZING. I devoured my meal so fast, and I am very picky when it comes to burgers. This place is fantastic, so many awesome menu options and I loved how the fries were crispy and not over seasoned or dripping with oil. Everything was done perfectly, definitely was high end pub food. I also was surprised with how fast we got our meals after ordering. Literally was less than 10 minutes. We've had Buster's around 8-10 times over the past year and we love it. Everything we've tried here has been delicious. We've dined in a couple times (both indoors and out) and had takeout several times. Don't expect anything fancy! It is your typical bar/grill inside--no frills. But it doesn't need any frills when the food tastes that good. Some of our favorites here are the bison burger, the birdie melt, the bbq melt burger, the grilled corn salad with steak and the FRIES. This place is always a classic go to for menu is pretty straightforward with something for everyone's taste. They have a good variety of wine and beer including a great happy hour.The service is always consistent as well as approved. One thing I would highly recommend here is the muscles *(although I was heartbroken that they were out of them today but I will come back again just to have those) that's always my go to when I come here. It has the feeling of a mid-level restaurant / dive bar feel to it yeah it's extremely welcoming. If you want to sit at the bar You can do that and watch TV if you want to set up four top during happy hour you can do that or if you want to sit in a booth up front and enjoy people watching you can do that or you can put in the way back and have an intimate date night... WOW Atmosphere: Nice little bar, high back booths and large bar area to sit at. Eclectic decor. Clean bathrooms. Food: HOT DIGGITY. Some of the best onion rings I've ever had. I HATE ketchup, but I would eat there's every day and smother it on anything fried. The Rueben was so tender and mouthwatering. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed every bite of food at the table. Buster's is a great neighborhood pub with good food, as long as you don't bring your kids. We have been here 4-5 times and the vast difference in how we are treated sans kids is a bummer. Anytime we bring our kiddos it's like we are personally inconveniencing the staff. If you are 21 and up go! Have fun! Get the fried green beans. But I gotta say, if you have children I would pass on this place. They just don't seem to want you there. read more

This restaurant is one of our favorite spots for delicious food, hamburgers, and great beer. I will argue that the best burger in Minneapolis is here. The Bison Burger is cooked to medium rare! This location only has off-street parking. I provided a picture. Most of the time, parking is easy to find. On occasion, we have had to circle around a few times to wait until a spot opens up. When you walk up to the front door, you will see a patio on the right-hand side. When you walk in, you'll see it is much bigger than it looks from the outside. You'll find the hostess desk as soon as you open the front door. They don't take reservations, so grab a drink at the bar if you need to wait a few minutes. Upon arrival, we were seated immediately. We were seated on a booth on the left-hand side. Which I prefer. The booths can handle larger sized men. My wife ordered the Sweetland Vina Cider, and I ordered the Czechvar Pilsner. I tasted her cider, and it is delicious! The cider has been kissed by grapes, so I highly recommend it. It is 8.5% ABV, so be careful. My Pilsner was perfect a 90-degree day. For food, she ordered the Busters Burger with fries, and I ordered the Bisen Burger (medium rare) with onion rings. The Bison Burger changed my life years ago. You'll understand in a few seconds. The food came out in about 15 minutes. Amazing. The burgers are so juicy, so I will share a secret. Once you have condiments on the burger, immediately cut in half and turn it meat side up. I provided a picture to demonstrate the technique. This will allow the bun to soak in all of the juice. Now, if you enjoy juice running down your hands, just dig in. Now here's where the fun begins. I took my first bite of my burger, and I started dancing in my seat. My wife said, "Are you dancing?" You bet I was! I didn't talk for 10 minutes. I don't remember anything for those 10 minutes. I was in food heaven. Then I finally took a bite of the onion ring. Can it get any better? It can. It was a crisp bite. The batter is not sweet. Which I prefer. You can tell the chef cares about the smallest details. This accidentally became all about me... My wife says the Buster burger is her favorite in the Twin Cities. She loves the fries, too. I have one more tip, don't forget to take a bite of the pickle. Incredible. I hope you love this place as much as we do. In regard to the bathrooms, they are very clean. You are going to need to use the bathroom because no amount of napkins will wipe the hamburger juices from your hands. read more

Buster's on 28th would be my go-to, cozy neighborhood bar if I lived nearby. I do suspect everyone knows your name here. (As always, three stars is not a bad review in my book) They offer two labeled vegan options: a burger and a banh mi. The vegan banh mi ($10) is more like a fried tofu sandwich on ciabatta bread, but it tastes good and has a spicy peanut sauce. I wish the tofu patties were thicker, but they fry them nicely. The vegan burger ($13) has no description or information about it anywhere online, but it's just a Beyond patty, also on ciabatta. Burgers have suddenly become really expensive in Minneapolis, so this one is actually on the cheaper side, and fine enough, but not worth going out of your way for. The hand cut russet fries that come with the burger tasted good and I also got onion rings (+$2 with any sandwich) which were fine. I'd love to see a vegan dessert (maybe a chocolate pudding?) and another vegan sandwich option (maybe a tofu breakfast sandwich or a seitan philly?). Buster's on 28th is a great burger restaurant! I almost always get their Buster Burger with a gluten free bun. They have really good gluten free buns and I stick with coleslaw because their fries are in a shared fryer. It's not the biggest restaurant so there may be a wait on the weekends or a Friday night. The servers are always very friendly and quick to bring out drinks and food. They have a lot of ciders and beer to choose from! Parking for Buster's is street parking so plan a little time for that. I definitely recommend Buster's if you're looking for a good burger. read more

On a warm weekday Buster's was a great lunch spot. We sat outside and our server was attentive, and service was pretty fast. Every meal at the table looked delicious. I went with the 42nd St Tacos, and they were excellent. The plate included two corn tacos (doubled up to 4 total) with good sized pieces (palm-sized) of pan seared cod. The jalapeños on the tacos were quite potent, and made for a lip after-burn. The red onion, avocado, and lettuce paired nicely with the fish. The salsa roja, served on the side added another layer of flavor. I think my dish was a little light on French fry quantity, especially compared with my dining companions, but maybe I've come to expect too much in my French fry serving size. Some of my fellow diners went with the sweet potato fries and they were nicely seasoned, but there is an up-charge for them. I would likely make a return trip to try something else on the menu if I'm in the neighborhood. read more

Busters is the local go to when we can't decide what to eat! The restaurant itself is on the smaller size but is cozy. We ordered take out over the weekend and it was easy to grab from a table near the front and was quick (they offer an order online option that tells you the time to pick up once confirmed by the restaurant). I ordered the steak sandwich. It was a good portion size - the steak itself was perfect cooked, however we're cut into pretty large chunks so a lot of it fell out as you ate. While I'm no a blue cheese fan, it wasn't overwhelming and was a good addition to the steak. The potato chips were a nice surprise as well! The steak sandwich is definitely my new go to from Busters!
