Two cheeseburgers

Good burgers and onion rings are good. Prices can get a little out of hand for the joint. Service seemed pretty good. It definitely is a small hole in the wall but has a lot of Rich history.

Chili cheese dog and fries

This place was exactly what I wanted it to be. Unfussy, old school dive, chaotic decor, friendly staff, attentive service. I met some girlfriends for rounds of beers and some food on a Friday around 7. No issues getting a seat. Beers came in heavy glass which I always appreciate. The jalapeno poppers were very good. I also got a chili cheese dog and some fries. The chili cheese dog was not a sexy menu item, but was exactly what I ordered. The dog was big and the bun was toasted. Will absolutely come back.

Cali burger + tater tots

How this place has existed for ~90 yrs and had never shown up on my radar despite growing up nearby is beyond me... Absolutely classic dive bar - trivia days, movie watching nights, excellent burgers and tater tots, and Minnesota nice bar/wait staff - as far as dive bars go, this is a 5/5

My wife and I were out on our Saturday new restaurant jaunt and we were denied lunch at three places, so I have always wanted to try Sandy's. We entered and it is a very old school dive in deep Richfield Minnesota. Our server was nice and I ordered a Size 7 IPA and my wife got a Diet Pepsi. No Diet Coke, Boo. Solid IPA from St. Louis Park. I don't drink hard liquor, but I only saw beer and wine here and none at the bar, so not sure. I ordered the Richfield cheesesteak. It wasn't cut in half, weird, but the meat was piled on high and lots of caramelized onions and green peppers and the bun was perfect. Really juicy meat and moist veggies. The ambience is very 1960 Richfield. I would probably usually give it a 3, but since there is no 3 1/2, for what it is, I will give it a 4.

Northern hot dog

Another northern Gem! The Northern Hot Dog was a unique menu item that I had to try. Wild rice ON a hot dog!? Absolutely loved every bite and can't wait to try and make it at home. The bun was perfect to keep all the tastiness locked in!

New draft beers! Nord east and Zombie!

A definite place for beer and burgers! Great staff and it's no longer cash only. You can pay via an app when you're at the restaurant. Casual and relaxing, a good place to have a beer and bar food with friends or just on your own at the bar!

Jalapeno Bites 5/5

Second time here. I live in Bloomington and this is one of the few places open later for food. Service has always been attentive and correct. It's a dive bar with good food. Some of the best jalapeño poppers I ever had - full of cream cheese! Waitress is always very friendly.

Horrible.

0/10. These were the worst fries I have ever had. They must have been heated under a burner Plus $5.50 for a small tap of Hamms. This place has gone down hill

The food was horrible and super greasy. The service was bad too. It took forever to get our food.

Just a quick update they do NOT have a pool table anymore. Still fun local smaller bar with very good burgers.

George & The Dragon - Victoria Salad and Caprese Toastie made for a perfect dinner!

George & The Dragon is a super cool restaurant that my hubby and I tried for a double date night…read morewith our friends. We came on a Monday night at 6:15pm. This place does get busy so definitely keep that in mind. Luckily I made reservations ahead of time so we had a table waiting for us, otherwise we would have been put on a waiting list since it's a small space. They put us in a corner booth which was nice and spacious enough for 4 people so I'd definitely recommend asking for a booth verse a table if you're planning to come with a larger group. The servers are all very friendly and helpful. I appreciated their attentiveness and sharing what they like best, especially for what's in season based on the time of year. The menu has quite a bit of variety too which is sometimes unexpected when you come to a pub-style location. For appetizers we got Onion Ring and Fried Pickles. They were both really good and served with dipping sauces. Definitely both shareable items so if you're in a group they'd be great options! My entree I chose the Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon served with lemon soy marinade, creamy cucumbers, and jasmine rice -- it was SO good!! I loved the creaminess of the cucumbers especially with the rice and than the lemon soy marinade was just a unique touch to the salmon. Toned the flavors down without overpowering acidity. And the salmon was so dreamy, a beautiful pink color that you just knew it wasn't a farm raised salmon. Plus the portion was very generous!! I'd definitely recommend the Alaskan Sockeye Salmon to anyone interested in visiting here. #eatwildsavewild The only negatives (which are more so just knowledge bombs for you): * Restaurant is VERY loud. It's hard to hear because it is one small room that everyone plus the bar is in. I wished I would have took a picture to show what I mean. Just know that if it's an intimate setting you're looking for this is not the place. So be prepared to talk loudly over the loudness and ask "excuse me?" or "repeat that" many times throughout your visit because you're not going to hear everything. * Timed eating. Because this place is a hit with limited seating, once you get a table and complete your meal/payment you'll kindly be asked to leave so that they can clean up and open the table to next in line. Totally get that and am not put off by this at all, but I could see how it could catch some folks off guard especially if you are out for a meal with folks you may not see frequently-- so just keep that in mind. This is not the place to sit and talk post meal. * Parking is limited. Be prepared to walk a few blocks as the road parking in front of the business is pretty limited especially with the other stores and restaurants in the area. Regardless of those few bullets I highly recommend folks visit George & The Dragon. It's a really cool spot and the food was great! Plus theirs a malt shop right next door that looks yummy too, so definitely worth visiting and getting malts after for dessert.

Entirely unacceptable service (and consequently prices)…read more We haven't been here in a little bit. The kitchen and bar used to have to be separate businesses/tabs. It's now together. Yay! Food's decent (better menu than just bar food- some pasta and tex mex)- not that any staff could answer any of yours questions about the food or menu, but it's decent (regular/high prices for the atmosphere) not vfw/legion friendly in any capacity. We had dinner here. I had multiple drinks/shots. My sober cab had a coke. An 8oz, with ice, disposable plastic cup of coke. And apparently thats $2.75 each. We frequent these types of venues. We've seen on occasion policies where it's no/one refill on pop before- and we've always been informed of it when asking for a refill... Not here. ALSO most bartenders have used their discretion and understand we are spending money here. Not just "occupying a chair". Some people come watch the band, play bingo, sing karaoke etc. and want to buy nothing. I promise you I understand. But shots, drinks, food, this is asinine. And I was going up to the bar to get everything. NO TABLE SERVICE (again, somewhat to be expected- but not then get charged for 12 cents worth of pop). Don't let this deter you from VFWs & Legions- but fear this one...

Great food and friendly bar prices. Totally recommend the…read moreBloomington VFW!!! Hang out with your friends and make new friends.
