Being a British pub I had to try the fish and chips, and they did not disappoint. Rich and flavorful, crispy and nicely cooked. My only real pause on coming here more often would just be the price. It's decorated with various flags and had a wall of flat panels showing soccer games - this was during the World Cup so that made sense. The space is a lot more open than in most pubs I've been to, but I don't consider that a bad thing at all. read more

Good UK options on tap including Old Speckled Hen which tastes like a British accent and they have a better than average pour of Guinness. When we entered at 12:30pm, the host told us that it was too late for breakfast since I was keen on some variation of a full English. Was surprised that they had stopped serving breakfast or brunch given the weekend. The menu still had a lot of variety although the prices were higher than expected. I thought it might have been a World Cup markup but checking the website today showed that they were consistent. Then again the website didn't show any breakfast options either so maybe they just don't serve breakfast. Ordered the fish and chips. The portions were large but should be given the $28 price. We actually ended up here twice during our visit to Minneapolis. It has a good variety of options, quite a bit of seating both upstairs and downstairs, and is relatively quick. It does have British pub type food as advertised along with some other things. It does get busy and can be a bit loud but they have enough space that the tables are at least not on top of each other so that really helps with the noise level. I had the split peas because you just kind of have to have a true British thing at a place called Brit's pub and the cheese toasty. The toasty was really the winner here - to be somewhat expected, but wow, nice and crispy and cheesy! On our second visit I had the fish and chips which brought back memories of being in the UK. Met up here with several friends after a long day at a conference. I knew it was my kind of place when I walked in. There is a full bar, seating, dining room type set up with high tables, flat screens and flags hanging from the ceiling, very bustling vibe. Also next to the bar is a small room with another bar, couches and table seating for possibly a private gathering or party. Upstairs is where we spent most of time. With the capacity seating of well over 50+ tables of 4, this was a good spot for our group. Outside is a large grassy roof top area with a large screen, to watch sporting events. There is a wide selection of beers here on tap. For food we ordered fish and chips, chicken wings, bangers & mash, scotch eggs, Shepard Pie. I enjoyed Minneapolis' own Summit EPA beer. They have a comfortable and lively atmosphere, good food (fish and chips and beef dip are among my favorites, and attentive service. I specifically ordered the shepherd's pie--advertised with fries and a side salad, and highly rated in delivery reviews.Instead, the kitchen charged $40 to send out a cold pile of mashed potatoes dumped onto a sheet of aluminum foil inside a to-go box. No shepherd's pie, no fries, no salad. Nothing else. The DoorDash driver executed the pickup flawlessly; this grotesque failure happened entirely behind Brit's kitchen pass.Yet the kitchen isn't even the core issue. Line cooks can make mistakes; it is leadership that determines whether an establishment survives an error or degrades into a laughingstock. The moment I called two minutes post-delivery to give them a fair chance to fix it, manager Zachary dismantled what was left of this restaurant's credibility.Given every opportunity to take basic ownership, Zachary completely caved. He hid behind flat sarcasm and deflected with "call DoorDash." Brit's aggressively funnels local community dollars through delivery links on its own website, yet management cowers behind an app to dodge standing behind the food its line produces.No matter who is on the other end of the line, treating a supportive patron with that level of dismissive disrespect is fundamentally unacceptable. This establishment proved tonight that it refuses to stand behind its product, and our teams, corporate gatherings, and personal business will now be directed to local Minneapolis establishments that actually care about food quality and community goodwill.All management had to do was make it right. Was not at all great. One star for existing, one star because the food came out hot and quick. The rest? Ugh. Popped over here as it was billed as the "after party" for an event at orchestra hall. Seated ourselves next to the bocce court outside. We waited quite a while for the server to come and they were clearly put out we even existed, much less sat in their section. We ordered the poutine to start which came out hot and fresh but almost devoid of gravy. Poutine should be drowning in gravy. We basically had a plate of fries. The pork belly was an unnecessary addition. Server disappeared for a while and when they reappeared they would purposefully stride by our table and not make eye contact. In their third pass I stopped them and asked if we could order. They allowed us to. I had the BLT and it was not good. The cheese was again an unnecessary addition and threw the whole thing off. My partner had a wrap and got the wrong side. Server gone again for a while when they did come back we let them know about the wrong side and they said "my bad" but didn't offer to fix it. I came here for a work event, so was able to sample a few appetizers along with my main. I ordered the burger which was cooked well and had a tasty coleslaw on the side. I also tried some of my friend's Bangers and Mash. The mash, bangers and gravy were delicious and a great item. The only thing that was a bit lacking though were the peas which were not cooked fully and still a bit hard, they were also pretty bland. Brit's pub is a super fun British pub in downtown Minneapolis with a huge indoor and outdoor space including a beautiful patio on the roof. The whole place is usually filled with soccer fans and most weekends or big games you can find the place packed with fans in jerseys rooting on their favorite teams. Trying to get a table during a major game can be difficult so get early if that's what you're there for. The staff are all so nice and very attentive which is really refreshing as pubs tend to lack in this aspect. On top of all of this, their foods actually really good and they have a wide selection of drinks on tap. My go to is the chips and curry which are so delicious and while watching a soccer game, really makes you feel like you're in London. The screens are all massive and the whole place is filled with them which makes watching the game easy even if you're too late to grab a food table. We stopped at Brit's Pub for a nightcap and dessert after a show at Orchestra Hall. The location was awesome - just across the street! Even though it was right after the show and a Saturday night, we were still able to get seated without a wait. That said, after being seated we waited a while before being served half-full glasses of water. We then waited another 10-15 minutes before our server came to take our drink orders. We planned to order a dessert, but 20 minutes after our drinks came and without another check in from our server, we decided against it. I'm glad we weren't planning on a real meal, we would have waited 40+ minutes just to order. While waiting so long, we had plenty of time to look at and read all the cool Beatles and other memorabilia on the walls. I haven't been to Brit's very often, so I'm not sure if this is a common experience or an anomaly. I'd be interested in trying it out again, but without any sort of time constraint, just in case! read more

Such a great experience. I had the tandoori chicken wrap during a very packed house and it was very tasty. It had curried chicken breast, arugula, feta, red onion, and a cucumber mint yogurt. It all came wrapped in a warm tandoori naan which I am a sucker for! The naan texture was on point and all the ingredients worked great with each other. Finally made it to Brit's pub, but only got to see the first floor. It was busy on a Saturday so we opted to sit at the bar to grab a drink and some food. Definitely giving pub with all the decorations and every game on. Would be the perfect spot on gameday. I ordered the Pimm's Cup and the Almond Crusted Walleye. This was a large piece of walleye and could easily be shared. the walleye was perfectly cooked and was great with the house tarter sauce. Brit's is a nice little British Pub in the Nicolette neighborhood, that is a fun stop for a few drinks. The interior is decorated in lots of British imagery, including classic beer advertisements, the flags of the countries that were once colonies of Britain, and a huge wooden bar that looks like one you'd see in ye olde England in the early 1900s. Our server was great, and he joked around with us a little as we were trying to decide on our orders. They have a beer, wine, and cocktails menu that is quite extensive, so there is most likely something for everyone to try. I had the Summit EPA, which is an Extra Pale Ale. It was sort of similar to a red ale, like I had in Ireland - with a full body and heavier ABV (a little over 5%). One of these was enough for me, as I'm usually a light beer drinking girl, but they didn't have too many of those. We were only there for drinks, but they do have a full food menu that looked pretty tasty, so I will for sure be eating next time I'm there. With a lively atmosphere, Minnesotan/British Beer (as they had both), and great service, I'd definitely recommend popping in here and checking it out. read more
