The pot roast. Tender beyond belief.

My wife and I had an enjoyable early dinner here. Great "pub" feel and the food and beverages were superb. I had the pot roast ( despite my craving for shepherds pie which they did not offer) and she had a chicken pie. It filled us up nicely before we headed back to our hotel.

We stopped in at Kierans Pub for dinner. Hubs had the usual--a Reuben and fries. Daughter had the Reuben with a salad. I had bangers and mash. Food was delivered quickly and looked fresh and was hot. Both of them loved their Reuben. They said the sandwiches were very tasty and the caraway rye was interesting. Salad option was nice with the Reuben. It was a large salad with cucumbers and baby greens. My bangers and mash was a little disappointing for me. The potatoes were super whipped, not heavy, and I wondered if they were maybe not homemade. The bangers were reminiscent of Britannia Arms, which is a good thing, but they just weren't as good. Overall, I would definitely return to this pub and order different food! Maybe a Reuben. It sure looked good!

this is a very big traditional style, Irish pub in the heart of downtown. It is perfect for a pregame drink or bite if you're heading to Target center afterwards. we went exactly for this, and found that there were many people there doing the same thing. It was a nice ambience. this place was decorated joyously for Christmas. it has a large capacity for seating and we were sat right away. We had a raspberry sour and a winter ale both of which were very delicious. We also had the buffalo wings which were also very good and had a great flavor that was not too spicy. We then also had the good fortune to go there when Michelob ultra was running a pregame promotion and got some free T-shirts and koozies. definitely recommend going before a game to see if you happen upon any of these fun perks.

This is what you expect, a cross between a somewhat dark Irish pub and sports bar. It just gives a vibe of a little bit of a dirty, sticky floor bar. We went as a large group to watch the Copa finals and it had a lot of TVs. We asked if they could put the game on. It seemed a little bit of a challenge, but ultimately they figured out how to put it on and get audio, but on a Spanish station. My SIL was happy, but I couldn't follow. We could eat, drink and cheer so overall a win. The food was mediocre. We tried the wings, cheese curds, chicken pub pie, and kids chicken bites. My niece had a mushroom flatbread, which looked good. Service is friendly, but a little slow. They gave us like 2 menus and I walked to the stand to get kid menu. It's a little over-priced, at least for apps (e.g., $14 cheese curds or pub pretzels, $15 wings). They had a huge patio. I think if you stick to basics, get a Guinness (husband had 5) and a burger, you'll be fine here.

The food and drinks were great. The indoor seating was comfortable. The waitress was fast and friendly.

Kieran's is the go-to place before any event at Target Center! Great food and an awesome atmosphere!! Sit outside if you can. Overall pretty quick service but it does get pretty busy!

This is a staple downtown Minneapolis restaurant. Although it's a little dark and divey, I love their space (especially that amazing patio!) unless it's before a concert, basketball, or baseball game.... It gets extremely packed then. The service was relatively fast, but our server seemed a little shy and didn't engage much with us. For drinks, I always get the Skinny Ginger. It's light and refreshing! When it comes to food, I always get the pretzels and the Chicken Shots. Both are amazing, but be warned that the "VERY spicy mustard" that comes with the pretzels is, in fact, VERY spicy. I loved every bite of it. The one thing I got that I haven't before was the mac and cheese. I was a little disappointed because it was dry and lukewarm. The peppers in it gave it a nice flavor though.

It's nice. Apropos "Irish" décor inside. The bartender was pretty brusque with me, but I learned via overhearing her colleagues, it was her last day. Well, alright. Got a couple good pints of Guinness in me and then had to run for a train. It was mostly empty at 7:30PM on a Wednesday.

My return visit after 4 years. Was staying at the hotel it is connected to. But me and a co-worker initially went to the irish pub across the street. Unfortunately, the place was locked up tight. Not sure why. So we ended up going to Kieran's. We grabbed seats at the bar and placed our order. I went with the pot roast and my co-worker went with the pot roast sandwich. The co-worker said the sandwich was really good. The pot roast for me was ok. Nice and tender and you get a lot of meat. I think the meat could have been flavored more. The mashed potatoes and accompanying veggies were good. And the crispy onions added a nice touch. Service was pretty good, too. Bartender checked on us every few minutes. Not a bad revisit.

Immaculate service! Great beer choices. Not busy so seating 11 was easy and fast. My Rueben with a side of salad was delicious. I was able to sample the beers I was torn between before ordering a full glass. That was kind.

This was our stop for a beer and snack before the Timberwolves game. I had the classic Summit and husband had the Hart Pilsner. Both excellent choices. We split a chicken sandwich and fries. Was enough for me but husband decided he also needed a Caesar salad. Both were very good. Service was excellent. Easy to get to through the skyway (so easy to stay warm). If you are 2-3 people, they have lots of small tables.

My partner and I went to Kieran's before the Katt Williams show to grab some drinks and food. We were immediately seated in the nice pub. Our waitress was incredibly sweet. The place was quite busy, so we had to open a tab before ordering to streamline the process. I ordered the Rueben sandwich and my partner ordered the fish and chips. To drink, I got the frostbite and he ordered an old-fashioned. The food was delicious, and the service was quick. I will definitely make Kieran's my go-to spot for pregame whenever I have events downtown.

We went here before a Twins game and it is a great location for the baseball field and target center. It had a cool outdoor area that looked fun also! Our waitress was very nice and attentive, though I didn't catch her name. The chicken shots were AMAZING and the pretzel was also great. It was a little pricey, but I assume that's because of location and the proximity to everything. Wouldn't mind going back!

The host originally seated us in a space that did not fit our party. Then he moved us to a center spot in a long, family-style table with people on either side of us. We had a five year old with us who was overly tired and very spunky and we had to try to keep her focused on us and not our neighboring patrons. Was really not the most appropriate seating for children but we didn't want to ask for yet another table. Soon after we sat down, we discovered that the parties on both sides of us were upset and looking for any employee so they could express their frustration. Seeing as we were all so close, we could hear them complain to others in their parties about the service. We learned shortly that we should have written up our losses early and moved on. We didn't. We ordered our beverages and immediately got water. The rest (2 soft drinks, an iced tea, and a milk) slowly trickled out one by one. The waiter apologized every single time he came to the table about how slow everything was from us being seated to getting our drinks to him coming to take our order. Once the food came out, he was apologizing again for how long that took. He wasn't wrong. As for the food, it was fine. Portions were average to smallish for the price. It wasn't as special as we had hoped it would be based on the descriptions. We each got something different and all said that we wouldn't order that item again. Not that it was bad. It just wasn't good. The best thing we had was the pretzel stick appetizer. That was pretty good but for the price, we wouldn't order it again. Nothing was super memorable except the decor which was super fun to look at. Oh and the very apologetic waiter. Our food came out hot. Turns out that was not true for the table to our left. The table to our right got the wrong food so half their group was done while the others were just starting. Apparently one of the cooks had called in. So, over all, I gave them an optimistic 3 stars. It was like a participation award with the assumption that if they were firing on all cylinders, it could have been much better. Personally, i wouldn't try them again but as the only Irish pub in the area, it could be a neat happy hour hang out. It just was not a family lunch spot.

We visited here mostly because their online menu, and their menu inside, said they serve Kilkenny, one of my husband's favorite beers and one that is rare to find. Unfortunately, we were informed right away that they no longer serve it, either, as the distributor was struggling to get it. Alas. That is the only complaint we have, though. Service was great, busy as the place was on a Saturday at lunchtime. I had a Magner's cider while my husband made do with Schells Octoberfest. The cheese curds were absolute artwork, some of the best we've had in ages. I had the beet and goat cheese salad. It was huge with very fresh ingredients, quite filling without an added protein. My husband had a burger and fries and really enjoyed them.

However today has caused me to give O'Brien's one star and believe me if it were possible I'd give them -1. I was supposed to meet six of my friends here today for St Patrick's Day. Our car got struck and we did not arrive until 1 1/2 hours late. We were so late that we would have just had a drink had we known there was a time limit on the table BUT our waitress, Addison 8, did not mention this and took our meal order leisurely. Just after we were served she announced to the table that we all had to leave in 15 minutes. I said I assumed it did not apply to us as we had not even started to eat. she told us it applied to all of us. She told us if I was not happy about this I could speak to the Manager. I told her I would like to. then she said I could speak to her instead but I told her I wanted to speak to the Manager. No Manager ever materialized. I probably will never go to this restaurant again. I know times are tough and I don't object to time limits on tables BUT if a customer is very late the least a server should do is let them know there is a very limited time left for them to eat BEFORE they order $70 worth of food and drinks. I will be sure to mention this matter to my friends and as I have stated i will make sure I give my other regular restaurants the business I gave O'Briens. '

My wife and I were visiting Minneapolis and this place was across the street from our hotel. We wanted a quick bite and a cold beer, and Pog Mahone's checked all the boxes. A small, but quaint bar with plenty of T.V.'s on the wall for sports viewing. Brooke was the only server/bartender working, and we joined a handful of other patrons at the bar upon arrival. She was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and even though she was the only server, our service was wonderful. They have a nice selection of craft beers, as well as a full bar. The place is literally in the shadow of the massive newer U.S.Bank Bank stadium where the Vikings play, and Brooke commented that this place is jumping on game days. I know from my experiences at places around Wrigley Field that these "game day" restaurants can literally survive solely off the business they do when the home team is playing, but this place was pretty busy for a random Wednesday night. On Brooke's recommendation we split the Reuben Poppers and the Belfast Wrap. The Reuben Poppers were basically like Reuben egg rolls - stuffed with corned beef, sauerkraut and Swiss cheese. They were delicious. We got some thousand island dressing for dipping, and they were piping hot - right out of the fryer.... Really good. The Belfast Wrap was also really good. It was filled with tender steak, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes lettuce and a chipotle aioli.. it came with waffle fries.. again, just really good. Pog Mahone's isn't going to change your life, and there's a million places just like this in every city in the country, but they are doing it right. Good food and good service.
