While visiting from Seattle, staying with my MIL in Sartell, we wanted to take the family to dinner. Olde Brick House has been on my "list" to check out and we finally made it happen. Very friendly service and a great spot for families! We all loved the old pub feel inside. My first test at an Irish pub is of course the Guinness, and my Guinness was a perfect pour and delicious. There were three orders of fish and chips, one burger, one Dick Titus commercial and one kids Mac & cheese. Five stars for burger, kids Mac and the Dick Titus, all were delicious. I'd have to say the kids Mac is probably one of the best out there. I would definitely recommend the pub fries instead of the beer batter. As for the fish and chips, I have to give it four stars but only because the fish for all three orders was a bit overcooked. The Guinness beer batter was very tasty and the coleslaw was also very tasty. Had the fish been cooked probably one minute less it would have been a solid 5 star fish and chips. I'd go with 4.5 stars if I could for our entire experience. We will be back next time we're visiting Grandma. read more

Went during the weekend and was slower during a Vikings game. Staff was attentive with refills and making sure everything tasted great which it did. This is an Irish pub so have plenty of Irish food options and other regular pub options. We had the crispy chicken wrap, Nashville hot chicken tacos and kids cheeseburger. The pub chips are chefs kiss delicious and the spice on the chicken tacos was the perfect amount of heat with still providing a great amount of other flavors. This place in downtown blew us away! Their food was beyond anything we thought we'd find in the states. Really, just go get lunch if dinner here. The Ruben and the bangers and mash were THE best we've ever had. Succulent corned beef and tasty mashed peas as well. I'm not wowed by ambiance. The service and quality of food is far more important to me. But THIS PLACE ticked every, single box allowed! It's an American take on an Irish pub. I was wowed by the stained glass, the impressive layout, the handsome bar and the very comfortable booths. Every surface was spotless, and I was impressed with the attention to detail of the limited staff hustling food, drinks, and promptly cleaning the tables and booth seats as folks departed their tables. Did I mention food? I ordered the Jameson burger served with beer battered fries. The burger was served as ordered and described in the menu. JUICY! Yummy bun! My only recommendation would be the fried onion straws be hot / mine seemed served refrigerated. It's a generous burger which "forced me" to go slow on the fries which were mighty tasty. Deep golden and crispy. Our lovely server with the beautiful brown eyes, asked if my friend and I would like dessert. I was sated, but was interested in their offerings. I believe they had six items to choose from. Each sounding better than the last. Fortunately, my friend asked if we should share one. Well - duh . We agreed on a decadent DEEP chocolate cake, with Jameson this, Baileys that and Guinness something or other. Trust me - it's a GENEROUS serving and my friend and I did our best to clean the plate. Really enjoyed this place. Walls were brick and wood (hence the name) giving a bit of an old pub feel. We were seated quickly and drink orders taken. In our party of 5, we ordered Fish and Chips with sweet potato fries, Fish Tacos, Dick Titus Commercial, Guinness Prime Rib Cheese Steak Sandwich and Perrystown Pretzels. Our food came quickly, was hot and well presented. My Commercial was really good. Gravy seemed homemade and portion size was nice. Tasty meal. My wife had the Fish Tacos. They were good as well. I didn't try the other food (friends not family) but everyone enjoyed it. I only got a picture of my entree, and the others we were with aren't really foodies and don't understand the pics lol. Two of us barely ate anything and had to get other food afterwards. My chicken was hard and rubbery. Hubby said his food was very dry and lacked flavor. Good food but understaffed. Went on memorial day, and there was only one server and a bartender working. Restaurant was about half full, and we stood at the hostess stand for almost 5 minutes before someone came and checked to see that we were there, even though the sign said "please wait to be seated." They've got some really cool high top booths, which were nice to sit in. My bf got a refreshing, huge strawberry salad that he liked, and I ordered a beef commercial. It was super filling and the Guinness gravy was phenomenal, and I'm not a fan of dark beers. We had to wait and wait after we finished our meal for the check, again because of being understaffed. Well. We're incredibly disappointed with the food we got tonight. My son ordered the pot pie and it was incredibly dry. Our girls ordered the family chicken fingers meal. The amount of asparagus that was given was laughable and the chicken tasted as it was cooked in burnt oil. My husband said his meatloaf was decent but for a restaurant the portion size was pretty small. I got the Buffalo chicken salad and the seafood chowder. Those were decent. We ordered online and picked up. I came right at the time I was suppose too and had to wait an additional 10 minutes. Not horrible though. Overall for the price of the meal it definitely wasn't worth it and I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

On the food side of things, I sampled the Fish and Chips. They weren't quite what I hoped when I ordered them at an Irish pub. They didn't quite pack the flavor when paired with the house-made tartar sauce that I had anticipated. The chips were nice and crispy but felt like they needed something to really showcase that crispiness - like a sauce or other pairing. All in all, this was not a bad experience.
