I always enjoy going here. I stop by most Saturdays in the fall and winter. It's just a great comfort food breakfast. I typically get the biscuits and gravy special (see photo) and it's pretty good. The food always comes out quickly and the wait staff does a pretty good job. Everything I've tried has been very tasty. It's great for the price and what you'd expect from a place like this. It's not a 5 star gourmet restaurant and you shouldn't expect that, but, for a down-home diner they do it really well. I'm not going to knock off any stars, because this place does a great job in general, but in case any of the management reads this I have feedback. 1. The slowest part of the whole operation is being seated and cashing out. Both of these occur with the host/hostess. It's a single person, and having them seat people, and most times the host will bring them their drinks, ensures that everyone else continues to wait. It's a bottleneck. Even when tables are free. Occasionally I've seen the host standing a few feet back into the kitchen area wrapping silverware or whatever and unable to see someone waiting for them. I get that you want to keep someone you are paying busy at all times, but that also causes more wait while they finish their secondary task and return to the cashier station. The customer should come first. 2. They seem to do this odd thing where the wait staff doesn't have a dedicated section of tables. Instead, each person that comes in is given a colored poker chip that is placed on their table and they just rotate through the colors (which indicate a waitress). I guess this makes it so every wait staff gets an equal number of customers, but you also get this weird situation where the table sitting in front of you, and the table behind you, could all have a different waitress. Three people stopping by the same area at different times. Seems super inefficient. I can generally get someone else's waitress to bring me a refill or whatever, but it makes it harder to flag down yours, when they are crisscrossing the place. I mean, it's their place and their system works for them. It is what it is. Just have some patience and expect a bit of a wait to be seated and again to cash out. It's not somewhere to visit if you are in a rush. It's more of a lesuirely weekend morning type of place. Worth stopping by! read more

What can I say? When I come down from Bemidji I always wanna eat here just plain old good food, cooked the way you want it. Service like you're at home and that's a good thing. Nobody hovering over you but yet being attentive to your water needs. It was a rainy day found a good spot to park right away got in ordered our food. Ate it and the way we went back to Bemidji. All of us had eggs in one form or another each one of us had our eggs cooked the way that we wanted, which is really important. The home fries were great. Nobody had heartburn going home which can happen a lot of times when you eat fast and the food isn't so good. This food was great. Can't wait to return to have another breakfast read more

Cafe.... A family-friendly place with a great vibe and a warm welcome that makes you feel right at home, especially thanks to Michelle. Not so much the receptionist, though--she could stand to learn a bit more, since she's in a position to interact with customers; at the very least, she should say "welcome" and "thank you." What I tried was delicious, but most importantly, as a chef, everything was prepared with high quality and served on time. I want to mention the hash browns, for example. Most--or I'd say almost all--chain restaurants use the wrong oil, or it's old or rancid. That's not the case at Brigitte's. Brigitte's isn't a chain, which is great. And the pancakes are so light they almost float in the air. Until next time.... read more

"Where do you want to go for breakfast, love? It's your birthday, you pick." You think about it. Your sleepy little cow town has no good prospects. You think of conceding to good ol' Perkins, and think again. You google a few things. Something cute comes up. The drive is short enough, and facilitates the mandatory stop through Savers to peruse the electronics for that thing you had when you were 12. "Brigette's Cafe looks good, let's try it." Best decision of the day. The chicken fried steak special was delicious, nay, straight bussin. I still have no idea how it's actually made, and I don't care. The hash browns were perfect, and dare I say, picturesque. Eat your heart out, Norman Rockwell. The rye toast was delectable, with only butter to complement. I will be back. I will try the pancake platters. The best part? I'm a whole-ass adult... and nobody can stop me. read more

Waitress was fantastic!! I've been here for lunch and loved the tuna melt and chicken tender melt. Breakfast was okay, a little too heavy/greasy for my liking. Omelet had a mountain of meat, too much for my liking. Extremely affordable. Meat lovers omelet $12, sub toast for French toast for $2 more. Will be back for lunch. read more

Great service and fair prices. We were in town visiting family and wanted to try a place that wasn't a nationwide franchise. The line was fairly long when we arrived around 11:30 on a Sunday, but it moved quickly. Once seated and our order was in, the food came out fast. Enjoyed the biscuit and gravy, fries, and french toast. The omelet was decent and about what you'd expect from a good diner. Coffee was great after being in the road all night. Overall, we liked the experience, and there are still several menu items we didn't get to try, a good reason to come back again. read more

You KNOW it's a GREAT restaurant when, at age 71, you're the YOUNGEST patron in the place! The prices are RIGHT! Food selections are like the foods WE grew up with! The staff is cordial and patient. It's a good layout for seniors. The parking is easily accessible. The interior has good lighting, table space and height which can accommodate wheelchairs. I ordered liver and onions because I LOVE liver and onions. They were great! Mashed potatoes and gravy plus a serving of veggies of the day. My friend ordered pancakes with a side of bacon. Not a SIDE of PORK, although one might wonder. Four very generous strips of perfectly cooked bacon were over the top. Oh - and her pancakes? They overlapped the large dinner plate! She savored EVERY. read more

Service is quick. And food is as good as advertised. It really is as close to home cooking one will find at a restaurant.

So the waitress was attentive and nice and kept my coffee cup full but if you're looking for a delicious bread baking something that's really good Bridget has Long left the franchise the gravy was terrible. The sausage was small and my eggs sent out right dirty as well as the hashbrowns were quite grease I wouldn't go back no sense but this restaurant pretty much just serves hole filler. It'll fill hole And believe me, I know good food I have been all over the country I am also a chef. Right away the customer service was AMAZING!!! we got seated right away and then she was like what can I start you with to drink, I got the hot cocoa and it was the best cocoa for a while. The food was amazing, the eggs, toast, the pancakes, the cocoa, the bacon, heavenly. Amazing vibe and felt very cozy we got there right when it opened at 7 am and it was so nice, clean bathrooms, even gave me more than I paid for, amazing and I would recommend to everyone I know or see. We have our usual spots for breakfast, Kay's Kitchen, Jimmy's Pour House and Park Diner. But none of them are our favorite. We really liked Kay's Diner when it was in the mall over by Dunkin' but it is gone. So, this morning we had some time before work and decided to grab brunch, We both wanted breakfast but we wanted something different. After a little googling we stumbled upon Bridget's and I am so glad we did. I can't believe I never knew this place was back there. The service was great! The waitress was very attentive, always had a smile. It was very welcoming. The food was awesome. I got the Chicken Fried Steak and it was perfect! It tasted hand breaded, not frozen. my hash browns had that perfect crispiness and the toast perfectly buttered. My partner got the ham and egg omelette. It also was very good. He said the hash browns were exactly how he liked them. The serving we got were perfect as well, so good that I can't review the pancakes as they're currently in the fridge due to being to full! Ambiance was nice, it gave a diner feel which is what you want! Very open and well lit. All in all, I would go back and plan to take others! Highly recommend. read more

I stopped here for lunch and was seated right away. This is a small place and my server came over and I ordered the hot beef sandwich and soup. She came right back with my soup and it was good. After a short wait, she brought my food and it looked good. The beef was tender and moist, and the mashed potatoes and gravy were good. This was a good meal for the money, I will stop here again. read more

Been here a couple times with my sister and her family. Service is prompt and the food is what you would expect at a Ma and Pa place . I had the three eggs vegetable omelette with cheese on top and opted for two pancakes instead of toast. I had requested to have my pancakes upgraded to the so apple pancakes instead and she said it'll be cheaper to just have the pie filling on the side. So that's what I had. The pancakes were light with a little fluff. I added a little butter in the middle of the two pancakes and put the apple filling on top as a syrup was satisfying. I had to add a little Tabasco sauce to the omelette to give it a little kick since there wasn't much taste with minimal veggies inside the omelette. The coffee was good. Overall, a good alternative to Perkins in town. read more

Classic Diner!  We were there on a weekday morning.  Walking in, the first thing I noticed was the delicious pastries and couldn't miss the touching memorial portrait of Bridgette hanging behind the counter.  The dining area had groups of locals enjoying their breakfast, giving us the sense that this spot is a beloved community hub where friends gather to catch up.  We were quickly sat and offered something to drink.  Service was excellent throughout our visit.  I ordered David's Omelette, swapping sausage for the ham, and paired it with two pancakes and a side of hashbrowns. My wife opted for two eggs, sausage links, and pancakes. Our meals arrived quickly and were served hot. The omelette was delicious, packed with ingredients and just the right amount of cheese. The pancakes were light and perfectly complemented the eggs, without being overly fluffy. If you find yourself in the St. Cloud area around breakfast time, I highly recommend stopping by Bridgette's Café. It's a charming spot with great food and a welcoming atmosphere. read more

This is a great Ma and Pa place. The place was clean but pretty dated. The service was very good but not many people in the the cafe. After the waitress took my order it was only minutes before the meal was served. I had the meat lovers omelet with hash browns. Good taste but pretty small serving. The toast was soaked in butter so the wheat option probably wasn't as healthy as I would have liked. Good variety of meat but much. Menu was extensive so I would probably give them a second try for lunch. read more

A dining experience that feels as nostalgic as the word. Great proportions (I'm a big guy, I eat a lot), great flavor for picky eaters, and food that looks so good, it had to be freshly made. Well Bridgitte's deserve 4 star! The place is nothing flashy and decor is plain and simple. Nothing i feel has been updated for a little while. But i walked in the Hostess was very nice. I see a guy cleaning windows in the outside of the building. And looked around more and the place is kept very clean! Well done! In another look around i see a picture on the wall of the owner Bridgitte that has passed! And it looked to me. Second generation is running it. That is pretty cool to me they have been around so long. The waitress knew everyone there and same with the Hostess. Now to the food. I had the Everything Omelette-eggs, ham, sausage, cheese, onions, tomato's and mushrooms. It was super yummy and the do up some great crispy hash browns! Go in sober! Go in hungover! They should have that comfort food to cover you! Enjoy read more

I was visiting friends in St Cloud and went here. They have a friend who is a health inspector for the state of Minnesota. He told them that this is one of the cleanest restaurants and they don't have issues during inspections. That is a good thing in my book. It is a fairly large place with a doable menu. It's strikes me as a pleasant mom on pop. restaurant. (Bridget past away a few years ago). The food was your standard cafe food and the service was friendly. I will go back here if I were in the area read more

My husband and I really wanted to give this place a shot and we were so disappointed. When we walked in, it took a while for us to get noticed. The hostess finally saw us and asked how many and we told her two. She wrote something down and then looked in a different direction. Then another girl (another hostess? Im not sure) ran over, looked at us, and yelled "two?" when she was maybe 3 feet in front of us. We told her that it's just us two and she ran off without saying anything, then came back and told us to follow her. I wish the food made up for that poor interaction, but it didn't. It was bland and the coffee was weak. We won't be coming back. read more

Local diner/breakfast place with decent food and friendly & fast service. We tried a bit of everything; the bacon was crispy but not greasy, eggs were not salted so you can adjust to your own liking, hash browns were nicely flavored with crispy edges, and pancakes were light with a slight chew. You get your own carafe of coffee if you order it which was nice and hot but a bit weak for me. Overall it's pretty good and will visit again! read more

This was my first time to St. Cloud and I didn't really know what to expect. I figured it was a diner with decent ratings, so I couldn't go wrong. Nothing was horrible about the place, it just was... Meh. It was average. Vanilla. Not to knock the establishment itself because they can't control this, but the vibe in there was just... Old. My friend and I are in our 30's and we were the youngest in there by about a half a century. It just felt weird. I ordered corned beef hash. It's one of the things I order at a new place like this because it's hard to mess up. It was OK. The waitress seemed very bothered to have been working there. Maybe it was her natural face, but she did not seem entertained by anything going on. Short answers. Did her job though. While walking through the restaurant, I peeled at other plates. I was glad I ordered what I did. All in all, it was a very average place. Right down the middle. Gave it 3 stars instead of two because they didn't mess anything up terribly. Actually... I'm changing to 2 stars because the thing they did mess up was the coffee. The coffee was literally water. Hard to mess up coffee, but maybe they don't make the coffee strong because of the majority of the patrons not being able to handle it? Either way, make two different pots if that's the case. read more

Brigitte's is a great hole in the wall, local cafe. Think of old style family cafe/restaurant. It's kind of like a Denny's but better and more personable. And, It was here before Denny's came to be. I am amazed at their vast selection on their menu. They serve breakfast all day, and they have daily specials all days except Sunday. It's a good hole in the wall. The food is good, and reasonably priced. I had the 6 oz Sirloin Steak breakfast which included 2 eggs, hash browns and 2 pancakes - DELICIOUS! All this for $11.45. We all enjoyed our meal. The place was packed for mother's day but we still got sat fairly quickly. It took a bit longer than usual to get our food (due to it being Mother's Day), but when it was served, it all came together (party of 6) and was fresh and hot. Taylor, our server, did a great job. If you are looking for good food, reasonably priced, with a local home town flare, this is the place. read more

Very fast service. Friendly staff as well. Very homey. Sourdough is well toasted and buttered. No picture for reference.

I just discovered this place about 2weeks ago and I have returned 3 times since then for breakfast. The food is hot and comes quickly. They bring you a glass of ice water immediately and if you ask for coffee, they bring a whole pot!! The coffee is great and doesn't have a bitter aftertaste like at Perkins. Prices are reasonable, service is very inviting and they check with you several times to make sure everything is perfect. The portions are big and their American fried potatoes are awesome!! I usually get the smoked sausage, eggs American fries and toast or pancakes. Amazing!!! The restaurant itself is exceptionally clean. It is a typical 60's style decor and the crowd is mostly retired people but also a few younger people. I absolutely love this restaurant and will bring friends along. read more
