We had such a great time. The staff was nice and the food was decent. It's so bit on the darker side for my liking. We started with the Lucky Leprechaun and Kips Old Fashioned. Starters Pub Pretzels and Irish Spring Rolls which were a great hit! Followed up with our entrees: Fish & Chips, Shepherd's Pie, Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with fries and Boneless Wings with ranch and BBQ sauce. All of the food was decent and we all enjoyed it. The carrots in the Shepherd's Pie were still hard. Our table was wobbly, but our server Christina quickly assisted with fixing it. No other complaints. I didn't have the best time with photos as it was really on the darker side regarding lighting. Last, they do offer outside seating.

    The salad was very good!

We stopped by for dinner St. Patrick Day weekend. I was hoping for some food specials but all they had was green beer. I don't love the inside, a bit dingy and loud, but the patio is very nice! The happy hour appetizers were tasty, especially the pretzel sticks and fries. I also like the salad but would probably ask for more dressing next time. They were busy but the service on the patio was pretty slow.

Best pretzels ever with cheese sauce and mustard.

Five Stars! We've been eating at Kip's Irish Pub for many years, and we have never been disappointed. This most recent visit just confirmed why we keep coming back. We were in a hurry and let our server know - she was fantastic and immediately helped us choose items that would come out quickly. Our food arrived in record time, and we were in and out in about 20 minutes. The pretzel sticks are, by far, the best we've ever had -perfectly warm, soft, and absolutely addictive! The option between dipping in cheese sauce or mustard was the hardest part about eating these. We also loved the hummus platter (it came with some unique and tasty pairings) and the Irish egg rolls, which were delicious. Honestly, we've tried most items on the menu over the years, and everything has been great. (But the pretzels are a must every time!) The wait staff is consistently friendly and attentive, and we really appreciate how genuinely kind everyone is. Kip's is one of those places that gets it right every single time. We'll continue going again and again. Highly recommend!

Review from a first timer trying it out as an early week birthday celebration dinner! Vibe - It's giving upscale bar... I loved the set up and see it being a cool spot for special dinners and football Sundays alike! There were a decent amount of people there on a Tuesday evening, and it seemed like they frequent the place haha. Food - The pretzel appetizer was tasty, really good pretzels! I had the 10oz steak dinner, it was nothing special but good. Would recommend trying one of their more specialty dishes. Service - Friendly & quick. Parking in hotel lot was easy enough. Prices - High. But as I alluded, it makes for a good spot for a more-affordable special occasion dinner, and I think they have a happy hour as well worth taking advantage of!

Came here while staying at the hotel for work. Guinness was honestly awesome. Very crisp with great shtick, as you can see in the picture (8.9/10). French onion soup was good, but the bread was under the cheese and very soggy by the time I got to it. I'm a fan of places that put the bread on top so you can dunk it and decide how soggy to let it get (7.1/10). The cod fish was very good and I really enjoyed the tatar sauce /(8.3/10). The fries could've been crispier but I do like the Irish style (6.7/10). Old fashioned was meh (4.3/10). Barman was very nice and attentive. Ambiance is is that of a typical Irish live. Nothing overly cool, but no complaints.

Good ambiance. Good food. Presentation was nice. Facility was clean. Staff was nice.

Just an average bar- service was extremely slow even though it was not very busy not sure if they are understaffed Food was okay- very big portions so be aware when ordering There are better Irish bars in the city I prefer If I was staying at the hotel attached to here I would maybe eat here again but otherwise I wouldn't come out of my way to dine here again- not memorable

I stayed at the Courtyard in the Twin Cities area for a work trip recently. It's connected to a Marriott proper and the two hotels share amenities. One of them is a restaurant/bar at the Marriott called Kip's Irish Pub. I was feeling lazy after a 5+ hr car trip and decided to have dinner there. First off, I wasn't expecting the nice decor and theme of the place. Despite being called an Irish Pub, I figured it'd be more bland. But from the nice wood-heavy entrance onward, it was a cool looking place. Waiter was really friendly and attentive. I got a hummus platter for an appetizer as well as a buffalo chicken sandwich. The food wasn't out of this world, but didn't need to be. It was a perfectly good meal after a long trip. I'm playing to stay at this Courtyard regularly for my trips to the area, and I'd have no problem stopping at Kip's again. I'd summarize it was "solid" all around.

Huge bar top surrounded by TVs, lots of Irish decor, and cute booths that really lean into the theme. Unfortunately, things started off a little rough. The person I met there waited over 10 minutes at the host stand before anyone acknowledged them. I totally understand hosts may be on break or helping elsewhere, but with the restaurant nearly empty it was surprising that no bartender or server stepped in. Once we were seated, it also took a while before our server came by. That said, our server ended up being super friendly and attentive the rest of the visit. We ordered an Irish lemonade, a cold beer, and the Gaelic Whiskey Bites. They were exactly what you'd expect with an extra crunchy exterior, but the sauce was actually really good! Honestly made me wish I had tried a burger with that sauce instead, but we weren't hungry enough for more food. Overall, it's a decent neighborhood Irish bar, but nothing really stood out to me. I'd probably come back for the patio or on St. Patrick's Day!

There is a good cocktail, wine, and beer menu with Guinness, of course, and several Irish whiskeys. My server, Bill, was a delight. We talked about our dogs (mini dachshund for me, Malinois for him) and our shared love of Costa Rica. I ended up ordering the French Onion soup and a Lobster Roll with fries. The soup came out first and it was just as sumptuous and beefy as I hoped. The melted Gruyère and caramelized onions made a hearty starter. The Lobster Roll was perfect: chopped lobster on a warm, buttered, toasted roll topped with slivers of pickled carrots. The lobster was chilled and didn't need any dressing at all. The fries were plentiful, thin, and perfectly crispy yet still tender inside. A home run. Excellent food, warm and welcoming atmosphere, and terrific staff made it a delightful lunch. No frills local vintage bar - 4 stars…read more I suppose many people would call this a dive bar. I feel it's more like a time machine. You walk through the front door and you take a trip back in time. This is a drinker's bar, beer and spirits only - no food at all - other than snacks like small bags of chips. McCabe's is very small, unpretentious, and friendly. The coolest thing is the drive-up liquor store. You drive up to the window and the bartender inside hears a "ding" like the old time gas stations. Actually, it really IS an old gas station bell. (Check out my photos for an inside view of the mini-liquor store.) I've been here twice. The first time was only a brief visit to check it out and to get directions. But I returned today as a customer and I was amazed that the bartender remembered my name, remembered where I was from, and remembered what I asked him the first time. Impressive! (Maybe he just remembered my ugly mug.) Overall, like most places in New Richmond, I'm struck by how friendly and respectful everyone is. This is in huge contrast to my native Minnesota. It really makes be question the whole "Minnesota Nice" thing. It might really be "Wisconsin Nice". I'd come here any time to hang out with friends. - Maxx

We were so late that we would have just had a drink had we known there was a time limit on the table BUT our waitress, Addison 8, did not mention this and took our meal order leisurely. Just after we were served she announced to the table that we all had to leave in 15 minutes. The interior has that classic vintage pub feel with lots of character and natural light. There are tons of booths and different seating areas that could accommodate parties of all sizes. I especially liked the glass dividers between some of the booths, which give you a little extra privacy without making the space feel closed off. My booth also had coat hooks and easy access to outlets, which I appreciated. I could definitely see myself coming here for a working lunch. My server was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially as I was trying to figure out how to use a couple of rewards I had on my account. I specifically came in wanting to try the fish and chips. Their lunch menu offers smaller portions of several dishes from the dinner menu, including a fish and chips option for around $15. I really wanted to try the walleye, though, so I ended up ordering the full dinner portion for around $28. The fish was absolutely the star of the plate. The breading was fantastic--crunchy around the edges while still light and fluffy--and the fish inside practically melted in my mouth. The tartar sauce was also really good and paired perfectly with it. The sides, unfortunately, didn't impress me nearly as much. There were plenty of fries, but they were pretty average, and the coleslaw was mostly cabbage with a light dressing. It felt like it was missing some acidity or lime to give it a little more personality. For almost $30, I also expected the meal to be a bit more substantial. I left satisfied, but found myself hungry again a couple of hours later, so I'm not sure the dinner portion felt worth the price for me. If you're mainly curious about their fish and chips, I'd probably recommend trying the smaller lunch portion first rather than committing to the more expensive dinner version. Would I come back? Absolutely--the atmosphere, service, and location alone make The Local worth another visit, and I noticed several other dishes on the menu I'd be interested in trying. I just don't know that I'd order this particular meal again. The fish itself was excellent, but for me, the sides and overall value didn't quite match it.
