They have a comfortable and lively atmosphere, good food (fish and chips and beef dip are among my favorites, and attentive service. FOOD: I enjoyed their chicken caesar this time which had great cheese, well seasoned blackened chicken, and a great dressing. AMBIANCE: I've now sat inside at the lower level, upper level, and outside -- all of which provide a similarly enjoyable and lively vibe which is neither too loud nor quiet.

With bars on every floor and an outdoor patio that feels like half the city decided to pop 'round, it's the kind of place where "just one pint" turns into a full-blown social expedition. For more than 30 years, this downtown British pub has been the city's unofficial living room--on game days, the crowd spills onto the sprawling patio, where sports enthusiasts gather around the giant outdoor screen like moths to a very rowdy flame. This pub has perfected the art of feeding a crowd--especially when it comes to their fan-favourite burgers and dangerously delicious white cheddar mac and cheese. The burgers are bold and satisfying, the mac is creamy and crave-worthy, and every dish arrives courtesy of a team so attentive you'll wonder if they've secretly known you for years. Being at this pub feels like stepping straight into the center of the city's heartbeat. Inside, every cheer, clink, and burst of laughter wraps around you like you've joined a long-running celebration. Cheers!

This place does get busy so definitely keep that in mind. Luckily I made reservations ahead of time so we had a table waiting for us, otherwise we would have been put on a waiting list since it's a small space. They put us in a corner booth which was nice and spacious enough for 4 people so I'd definitely recommend asking for a booth verse a table if you're planning to come with a larger group. The servers are all very friendly and helpful. I appreciated their attentiveness and sharing what they like best, especially for what's in season based on the time of year. The menu has quite a bit of variety too which is sometimes unexpected when you come to a pub-style location. For appetizers we got Onion Ring and Fried Pickles. They were both really good and served with dipping sauces. Definitely both shareable items so if you're in a group they'd be great options! My entree I chose the Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon served with lemon soy marinade, creamy cucumbers, and jasmine rice -- it was SO good!! I loved the creaminess of the cucumbers especially with the rice and than the lemon soy marinade was just a unique touch to the salmon. Toned the flavors down without overpowering acidity. And the salmon was so dreamy, a beautiful pink color that you just knew it wasn't a farm raised salmon. Plus the portion was very generous!! I'd definitely recommend the Alaskan Sockeye Salmon to anyone interested in visiting here. #eatwildsavewild The only negatives (which are more so just knowledge bombs for you): * Restaurant is VERY loud. It's hard to hear because it is one small room that everyone plus the bar is in. I wished I would have took a picture to show what I mean. Just know that if it's an intimate setting you're looking for this is not the place. So be prepared to talk loudly over the loudness and ask "excuse me?" or "repeat that" many times throughout your visit because you're not going to hear everything. * Timed eating. Because this place is a hit with limited seating, once you get a table and complete your meal/payment you'll kindly be asked to leave so that they can clean up and open the table to next in line. Totally get that and am not put off by this at all, but I could see how it could catch some folks off guard especially if you are out for a meal with folks you may not see frequently-- so just keep that in mind. This is not the place to sit and talk post meal. * Parking is limited. Be prepared to walk a few blocks as the road parking in front of the business is pretty limited especially with the other stores and restaurants in the area. Regardless of those few bullets I highly recommend folks visit George & The Dragon. It's a really cool spot and the food was great! Plus theirs a malt shop right next door that looks yummy too, so definitely worth visiting and getting malts after for dessert.

Went for happy hour and shared the chicken nachos, a huge, delicious portion with lots of fresh toppings and guacamole, and also the boneless wings with my bf. The Korean chili garlic wings are phenomenal. Those two items alone filled us up. We both had a beer and a second order of the wings to go. Our bill was only $40. We had a fantastic Saturday lunch here!…read more First of all, the parking: parallel parking must be done on the surrounding streets. We lucked out to find a parking spot very close, and the restaurant wasn't even busy when we were there. I can only imagine parking is quite a challenge at busier times of day. We had a cozy booth. I had a view of the streetside windows and the dining room. Music was at a pleasant low volume in the background--we had no trouble talking and listening to each other. Our server, Lali, took good care of us. We were never left wanting and empty dishes were cleared promptly. Everything came out at an ideal pace, too. My husband had a beer from on tap. I was very happy that they had a couple kinds of cider, so I had one from Minneapolis Cider. We ordered poutine as our appetizer. It was fantastic, and a massive serving! My husband had the brisket philly for his entree; brisket is one of those meat cuts that is tricky to get right, as it easily gets too dry, but the cook absolutely perfected it. I had the smoked trout and greens bowl, which was no only delicious, but was also a feast for the eyes. I have never had trout prepared like this before, only salmon, and this dish was quite special. Just a wonderful place. I can see why it is so highly reviewed.

We tried the poutine and a barbecue platter to share. Both were good and I loved the juicy BBQ chicken, but the poutine was notable because there was tons of beef as well as the gravy, cheese curds and all on top of really good fries. Our food came out super fast and hot, and my glass of House Cabernet for eight dollars was a generous poor and a nice wine. There's plenty of street parking in the blocks around this area, and there is a cute bookstore as well as a sustainable goods shop that you should definitely check out across the street. I would love to come back here again!
