This is a small, old school cafe/diner. It has a small bar and some scattered TVs in the seating areas. They have your standard sandwiches and burgers and salads menu. We tried the French dip and Philly cheese steak for lunch. The bread was perfect for this tip of sandwich. The au jus was decent. The sliced beef was tasteless and dry though. It needed some seasoning. The wild rice soup wasn't too bad but again lacked flavor. Service was fine and this place was a quick, affordable place to have lunch. read more

We had the very small French Dip for $9.50, no side. It was on a delicious soft warm bun. Stop , that was the highlight! I didn't like the deli roast beef neatly folded, it had weird microwave taste and texture. There was no provolone cheese or onions, a standard for a French Dip. So I give this a 1 star for the bun. A friend and I dropped into Zeke's because we were in the area. And I have to say the place did not disappoint. The environment is divey, the staff are attentive and friendly, and the food was wonderful - and reasonably priced too. We both had turkey burgers with coleslaw and fries. This little (divey) gem is just around the corner from my home. Haven't had a bad experience yet! Sometimes there's a little wait for a server and just know the parking lot is kind of a dead end so traffic jams can happen if too many people are trying to come in and out at the same time. I wasn't even sure which city I was in, or how we arrived here. I have a friend who lives in Bloomington, and when I asked for a recommendation for 'cheap eats' in the area - this was his #1 pick. A large burger & sandwich menu, crispy coated fries, and some of the sourest dill pickles that I've ever eaten made for a great experience. They have a bar that serves strictly beer, and our sodas were never CLOSE to being empty the entire time we dined. My place of work is a barren shell of its normal self the week between Christmas and New Year's Day, with roughly 6.2754% of employees making an appearance. Boring would be an understatement! Thus, five among us decided to go out for lunch, somewhere nearby that was not fast-food. Zeke's Place fit the bill. I ordered the daily special, a Gyro with wild rice soup. The meal only cost six bucks and for some hole-in-the-wall in Bloomington, the food was far and away better than expected. We arrived prior to the lunch rush, but even as we left there were enough tables available that the place was not crowded. There are pool tables in the back, along with televisions and a juke box, so I imagine this place would be a fun local hang out spot for Bloomington suburbanites. My local neighborhood bar. Great place to watch sports and have beers with friendly regulars. The only dive bar (meant as a compliment) in West Bloomington. I've been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. As a southern man transplanted to the north, this is the only place I go for fried ("broasted") chicken. Need I say more? Had lunch here. This is better than average bar food in a fun neighborhood bar. Located in a strip mall off of Old Shakopee Rd and 169, there is lot's of parking outside. The food was exactly what you'd expect with burgers, fish fry and sandwiches. All the food was made to order and came out of the kitchen hot. Interestingly both the prices and portions were human sized. This was very nice as opposed to having a plate piled with so fuch food you could never eat it all. The wait staff was excellent. The beer and drink selection was typical of a neighborhood bar. It was easy on the pocket book and the food was good. read more

We frequent this place at least once a week. Five stars every time. Environment is hometown, cozy hot spot. The staff are always super friendly - genuinely. I saw this place had decent reviews and went to check it out for lunch. The inside looks old and dingy. I tried the broasted chicken since the neon sign advertised it in the window. The meal comes with 3 pieces of chicken, jojos (potato wedges), coleslaw and toast (why). The chicken was tasteless and dry. Jojos were fine. The coleslaw looked disgusting and the toast was just as you'd expect. The waitress was about as friendly as an agitated wolverine. Great place to go if you have no sense of taste! read more

Zeke's Place has great burgers and decent fries. The place can get crowded on the weekends after softball games and such, because Zeke's is right across the street from Dred Scott Field. Lunch time is mellow with mostly business types looking for a quick bite to eat. The service is prompt and friendly. The atmosphere is very casual. read more

Pretty decent burgers. I hadn't been here in years as I don't live in the area. My parents stop by frequently. I had a bacon cheeseburger and fries. Mom had their fish 'n' chips special. The burger was cooked to order. While I'm not usually a fan of batter coated fries these weren't too bad. Mom said her fish 'n' chips were pretty good for what they were. It's a very casual place. Basically a 3.2 bar with bar food, a pool table and lots of tables and chairs. Plenty of parking in the lot but watch out for the speed bumps....they're huge. it's a lot closer than driving out to Lion's Tap for them. My husband and I visited here after happy hour on Friday night. We didn't eat anything so I can't provide much feedback on it. The clientele was mainly families with children. There were some arcade games in the back to entertain the kiddos. It's pretty dark and divey in here, but we just wanted to have a quick beer. We ate at Zeke's on a Thursday night and it was very good and the waitress was very pleasant. We went back the next night at around 9:30 and wanted to order some food. A scuzzy lookiinng guy said we couldn't order any food because the kitchen was closed. We pointed out that others were eating and the kitchen was supposed to close at 10. Love Zekes. Close, weekday and weekend specials. Even though it might be classified as a sports bar, it is popular with families, groups, and many seniors. Broasted chicken all week, and a cod special on weekends. Most visitors are repeat customers who eat there often. read more
