This place is not good, from service, to organization, just a mess! I had a bar tender take my order and he never brought it. When I checked back in it turned out he was a bar back who couldn't pour drinks but he asked me for my order! I was also waiting on the waitlist for a table and the buzzer went off so we gave up our space at the bar, only to be told they buzzed the wrong person. The vibes were also off be square we inadvertently went there during Thur night bingo and it was super crowded and just not a fun scene. I hope to not come back here. read more

Worst breakfast ever! Ordered eggs done medium. The egg whites runny. Cheesy hash browns were a glob of cheese and mushy potatoes. The Bloody Mary was watered down with too much stuff skewered. The "homemade" bagel was still frozen, the cream cheese was spread thin like butter. Advertised as bacon and chive cream cheese with NO bacon. Yuk. They need to fix a few things if they want to serve "breakfast." read more

Some things were great this visit with the bike group: lovely patio seating area, the burgers, combos, Schells Oktoberfest beer on tap! However, the pieces of fish for the 2 Pieces Pub Fish Fry ($17.99) was disappointing-more tartar sauce than fish. It's so convenient to stop at this Lucky 13 spot right by the Big Rivers Regional Trail for a bike group that we will continue to dine here after our rides...but just warn anyone not to get the tiny fish fingers if they are hungry. read more

I visited Lucky's 13 on Sunday and was very disappointed with the service. Our server only asked some of our table for drink orders and completely ignored the person who had stepped away to the bathroom. She never followed up to get that person's drink order. We then sat for about 15 minutes with no further attention. The restaurant wasn't busy at all, so we had to flag her down to finally take our full order. When I called her over, she gave me a funny look and tried to excuse herself by saying she was getting other people's orders. This made no sense since we were there before the other table and it wasn't crowded. When ordering, I originally asked for eggs and pancakes. The server told me I needed to add a protein, which made no sense because I didn't want that much food. She said my choices were bacon or sausage, so I went with sausage links. When the meal was delivered, there were no eggs at all. We questioned her about it while asking for the bill she said we wouldn't be charged for the eggs because she never ordered them for me. After our food finally arrived, she never checked back on us once. We had to ask other servers for coffee refills, drink refills, napkins, etc. The pancakes tasted pretty good but were too chewy and sticky in texture. I ordered the pancakes to take home for my son as I was only able to eat one but I ended up leaving the other two there. The sausage links were delicious, though. Overall, the server made the entire experience awkward and really ruined what could have been a nice meal. I don't think being a server is her calling. I won't be returning anytime soon. read more

Did Easter Brunch there 2024 was great hot food, and fresh. Thought it was so good we'd do it again in 2025. . . the tiny bagels were as hard a rock, could not even cut them to add cream cheese. Salads and dressings were not kept filled, had to ask for the dressing bowl to filled and lettuce mix salad also. As for the meat was dry and tough, and some dishes looked like they had been sitting there untouched. It sure wasn't worth the price they were charging for what was on the buffet table options. Service was terrible. Burger was average. The tots. The L13 tots used to be golden brown and barrel shaped and most importantly delicious. Now they are black burnt round turds. They look nasty and tasted like crap. Seeing pics of them like this at multiple locations. The also used to have a delicious walleye benedict for breakfast with a corn bread muffin. Now it's a plain sourdough English muffin. They are more concerned with lowering their costs by serving substandard food. This company has gone downhill fast. Moved here a couple months ago and we are really loving Lucky 13 Mendota. Great food and drinks. Never a bad meal! The weekend breakfast, bloodies and bartenders are awesome as we've been working our way thru the breakfast menu every Saturday at the bar. They just changed the menu so there are some new exciting things to try like the breakfast Monte Cristo but sad to see one of my favorites the Reuben Benedict is now gone. Was sooo good. My other recommendations are the Cajun hash and the corned beef hash and the blackened walleye Benedict along with the Monte Cristo. Often we sit at the bar which is really nice but you can't go wrong sitting outside especially in the evening where it seems a little extra special, especially if you're out there with a few friends like we did a couple times already. Some of our friends that lived out west a bit came out here to visit us so we had to bring them to lucky 13 and they really enjoyed it. They said what a great place and what a wonderful outdoor patio area here they have. The food is great too. And always had great service. I think we've been here about 8 times since we've moved here and at times with other friends and family and there's a lot of other places we haven't tried yet but when you find something great you kinda don't want to risk going elsewhere. Love this place! This is a frequent stop for my husband and I on the way to the Twin Cities. Great bar and grill, casual relaxed ambiance. Service has always been nothing short of OUTSTANDING. Large menu with a good variety. Tater tots are so good. Had a BLT and sweet potato fries for lunch today- exactly what I craved. We were on our way up to HS state football seminal game at US bank stadium and stopped here. I've been to Lucky's 13 Pub Mendota countless times over the years. Last night I met family for Tuesday evening Bingo which is always a fun time. Food is always good. Complimentary popcorn is one of my favorites! FYI, it's highly addictive. The place is always decorated so nicely according to the upcoming holiday. However, last night's service by our waitress was not the greatest and this is the first time I've had an experience like this here. She wasn't friendly. It felt like our table was almost a burden on her. It's very unfortunate because my family and friends enjoy this place as the menu has a large variety and just a good place. Location is good too. Yes, I would visit again, but if I end up having the same waitress, I may request a new one. read more

Came for brunch on Sunday with the family. We all split some cinnamon rolls that were ok. They were slightly dry but icing was good. The bloody Mary's were delightful and had great toppings. I had the Reuben Benedict for my meal and it was pretty good. The hollandaise was delish and the toppings good but the bread was just a little to dry as well. The cheesy potato's were great! My bf got the nachos and they were pretty good but the toppings could probably have been spread across the chips better and more evenly. The nacho cheese was really good. Came on a Monday night and there was a decent crowd. They had lots of TVs showing MNF. Turns out they offer discounts on burger's every Monday, so I got the juicy lulu (they're version of the juicy lucy). The burger was a decent size and oozing with melty cheese. My only complaint is that the burger was cooked more well done than medium, but that didn't stop me fro devouring it. Love that they give unlimited popcorn at your table. Got our drinks and menu then 15 minutes went by and nobody came to take our food order. We finished our drinks and decided to leave since nobody was going to take our order. I had a blast at the Mendota Lucky's 13! The space is great for any size group and there's tv around for sporting events. We got a couple drinks (chocolate martini & strawberry mule) and an appetizer to share. The pizza rolls come with a great marinara sauce and enough to share with the table. We ended our night with 2 desserts, the chocolate cheesecake and chocolate chip/ brownie cookie. Both were SO good. This place! Super fun. Great vibe. Awesome pub environment with traditional old school pub decor. All wood and amazing coziness! The service was great in the beginning, but within 15 minutes the place began to get busy, but the table next to us with over 12 people impacted our time. Ak de we were only a party of 2, we were the "after thought". For example, side dishes not brought out with meal... and then we couldn't find our waitress to inquire about the late or miss f items, so then ya feel like a burden!? The food we did get served was delicious!!! We were never asked for refills on the breakfast beverages, so again, we didn't feel like staying--we felt like we were a hassle, so we paid our tab and left for a hike. first time here. my son and i went on a monday for an early dinner (also so i could catch happy hour). the place was about 25% full when we got there and we were seated immediately. appetizer - fried cheese curds ($7 during happy hour). we've had cheese curds at a lot of places, and never really noticed any difference. they were crunchy, melty, and salty. just like any fried cheese curd should be. i normally don't order them, but the boy was cashing in a dinner out coupon the easter bunny left him. entrees: son got the kid's chicken tender and fries. he enjoyed both. one thing to note is the chicken is not strips. they use chunks of chicken and fry them. the breading was very light, which i actually prefer. my son also enjoyed it. i tried some of the fries and they were good. nothing special, just good fries. i got the hickory burger and asked for medium. one thing to note is, the menu says it has a "fried onion" on it. mine had caramelized onion. i love caramelized onions, so i actually preferred it that way. but if you don't, you may want to clarify with your server. the burger was nice and juicy and cooked perfectly... a solid pub burger. my side was onion rings. this is the only part of the meal i wish i could have changed. there were 3 gigantic onion rings, and at the slightest touch, the crust would fall off. i'd say at least half of it ended up on my plate. the breading did not appear to be seasoned either, leaving a very bland taste. next time, i'll stick to fries. dessert - can't remember what it was called, but it's basically a skillet that is 1/2 brownie, 1/2 chocolate chip cookie, and topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate and caramel syrups. it was simple and really good. all in all, this is a good place for solid pub food. we'll definitely be back. maybe next time we'll skip the massive sugar hit, but only to keep the kid from bouncing off the walls when we get home. read more

I used to order tacos every Tuesday for taco Tuesday one day I order my tacos and went in when I went in to get my tacos. One of the managers informed me that I was not able to come in because I think she didn't realize I order my food to go and not dine like I was there just to hangout or something I always see the managers not helping host and having bad communication when I called to inform them they refused to give me HR phone number there is a lot of drinking on the job and they have bad service very disappointing that there tacos are good cause there employees need a lot of work read more

The ambiance is of a cool rustic bar filled with vintage pictures of the city. The ambiance is welcoming and the wait staff were welcoming and attentive to our large group. They have a popcorn machine and they give every table popcorn which is seasoned with white cheddar. I ordered the Asian chicken bowl. What a place! This pub is so family friendly and fun, but also rich with great American food. Best known for the popcorn machine they use to supply the vast amounts of bowls they line your table. Nothing like snacking and watching the game at your local upscale bar. Every time I go the food has been over the top.
