Dive bar atmosphere with Bingo Tuesday. Deep fried tacos were decent, but not amazing.

We got there at 4 PM and had about a 20 minute wait, which wasn't bad at all. When we left, I swear there were more people waiting outside than there were seated inside the restaurant. The process of getting our table was great (they definitely know what their doing) and our server was amazing, but if you're planning to go on a Friday night during fish fry season, be prepared for a wait. It was $20 for all-you-can-eat fish, but the portion sizes were pretty big to begin with, so we didn't order any extras. For sides, you could choose between fries or a baked potato, and for an extra charge, you could get au gratin potatoes. The fish was good, but the crispness level was lacking on both the fish and the fries--that's why I'm giving it 3 stars. Parking is a bit chaotic. You'll probably end up parking on a side street and walking a little bit. I will say they have a gorgeous patio! It wasn't open for dinner but the tables were all out so we could sit there with our drinks while we waiting for our table which was a nice bonus on a 70 degree day. Glad we tried a new place and happy fish fry season!

After the show we decided to come check this place out. Now this isn't the "best" neighborhood and from the outside the bar doesn't look inviting. When you walk in you are greeted by a bouncer who runs a metal detector over you. Already I'm thinking, what have we gotten ourselves into.... We saddled up to the bar and the bartender is a tough looking guy. Looks can be deceiving though. He was a super sweet guy who knew how to manage a crowded bar. I've never seen someone work that fast and efficiently. He was working solo but you never had to wait long for a beer. We decided to order some food too. Again, I wasn't holding out hope. They are magic with a fryer though. The food came out hot, well seasoned, and just the right level of greasy. Just when I thought I had this place pegged, the music got me. It went from hip-hop, to 90's pop, to country in whiplash inducing speeds. Truly boggled my mind. Don't be afraid to step in and try something new. 12/100

Do you remember those bars you went to with your family when you were little for football games?…read moreNothing flashy, great food, neighborhood folk who knew each other? This is that place. I knew this place before the current ownership took over and I can tell you that's it's 150% better than it ever was. You don't feel like you're going to get shot in the bathroom. What you have are "no b.s." bartenders that will expel problems so your stay is enjoyable, a cook that knows what they're doing and can adjust your order to your tastes (I've tested this) and an owner that is present 80% of the time, who is helpful, accepts critique and is very, very accessible no matter how busy he is. The food is the BEST bar food in the city. I'm not talking about damn Heggie's Pizza either. I mean REAL FOOD. Over twelve different wings (jalapeño/strawberry to name one). Recently, I had fried pierogi that are unmatched. The burgers are again, amazing. Drink prices are low and beers are your standard (Bud/Miller), though there are other higher ends available who for those who seek something different. Recently they had Surly "Wet" on tap. High times at this bar are any Vikings, Wild, Twins game. St. Pattys Day is always a blast. ... Try and find yourself here for those times. Enjoy it. Order the food. Come back.

We started with Ahi Tuna Crisp appetizer - we substituted the cracker for cucumber. This twist makes it so fresh. The sauce is a bit tangy and avocado balances the tuna. So yummy! I made a last-minute reservation online, which was quick and seamless. Parking was easy enough, there's a small lot, plus plenty of street parking options. We were seated right away when we arrived, though unfortunately at a very small two-person table with very limited space. It worked out, but next time I'd definitely request something a bit roomier. We arrived during happy hour but skipped it since we didn't want to spoil our meals. For dinner, I ordered the double barrel burger with a side of fries, and my friend got the fried chicken sandwich with a side of fries. I enjoyed my meal, however, my friend thought the food was very salty and that maybe the chicken sandwich was fried in the same oil as the fish as it didn't taste much like chicken. We thought the portions were big enough that we had leftovers to take home. Service was just okay...nothing particularly memorable. The most uncomfortable part of the experience was our table location right by the door. It felt like people were constantly hovering nearby or watching us while waiting for a table, which made it a bit awkward. Almost like we better hurry up and eat. Overall, a decent meal.

We walked a complete circle of the entire arena before we decided what we were going to eat & drink. Luckily, Sheboygan was super close to our seats. I was impressed by the high quality brats and hotdogs...not just cheap fast food stuff we were forced to buy in the old days. I didn't expect this at a large venue. It was a nice surprise. Also, they have a variety of beer flavors, including higher end IPA type beers in case you're sick of the usual Bud Light type of stuff. Of course, they have soda & water too. I made 4 or 5 trips for meat and beers for our small group. Despite being super damn busy, the people behind the counter were consistently fast, friendly, smiling, and joking around. No sour faces...no sarcasm...just straight up great customer service for everyone in line. Thanks for some great brats & beer and big smiles, Sheboygan! -Daddy Maxx Retro
