What a friendly and cool neighborhood bar in Coon Rapids! The food is solid too. I love that they have darts and poker games as well. They do great specilas on food so make sure you check the wall on what's the deal for the day. Great spot to watch sports and hangout with friends. read more

Worth noting: We came in as part of a kids sports team playing a tournament in the area. All-in-all, this would not be my go-to with a group of kids. If I were still a drinker (which I am not), this is the kind of neighborhood bar I would seek out for an evening of drinks. The good: service was excellent. Our waitress ended up getting blindsided with a very large group just before 11:00 a.m. Were talking 25-30 people, half of whom were young kids. She had every reason to be cranky or frustrated, but she managed our large group with grace and class. Bloody Mary Bar: The place has a Bloody Mary bar, full of fixings. As a former drinker, this would have been a treat. Large space: there is a large game-room area with dart boards and two pool tables. The mediocre: the food was hit or miss. The breakfast was a bit high priced for the portion size. The burger was average. The fries were excellent. Atmosphere: This is a bar that serves food. The regulars are laid back - they were a welcoming group who kindly put up with a large group of kids running around the place. This is not the type of place that I would seek out for an evening with the family. However, it is the kind of place I'd seek out - during my former drinking years - as a go-to neighborhood bar to watch the game and drink copious amounts of alcohol around a relatively friendly group of people. read more

My wife and I have 5 previous visits. Service was great, burgers good. Thursday, 6/28/18, service was good, food horrible. Cold and flavorless. Burgers totally different. The server compt a beer. I paid 35 plus tip for 1 bight of burger, and 3 beers. We won't be back. Well, I guess I lied. It's 5/1/19, and I went again. Even worse than last time. Old, old, nasty smelly deal fry grease. Fine place, clean, bar tender very kind... not friendly but nice enough. It's a locals place so if you are not from Minnesota you may not feel welcome here. Everyone in the bar stopped talking when I walk in, whisper to one another and stair at me like you are a zoo animal they had never observed before. Better than average bar food, good drink specials. Lots of dart boards and games. Despite living up the street and going regularly I still kind of feel like an outsider when I go in here. I love it!! It's a total dive! The atmosphere is rocking tho! You got bikers, lesbians, right wingers the whole nine yards and everyone seems to just fit right in together. My wife and I come here a lot. A great place in my opinion. Service is great! They have a ton of dart boards, some pool tables and even Buck Hunter and Golden Tee. Poker a few times each week and bingo as well. The food is great!! Heggies pizza and awesome burgers. Nothing fancy about this joint but that's what is cool about it. The servers are friendly bit my over the top. They also serve breakfast each morning and have specials during all MN sports events. read more

Well, I am usually here on the weekends, when my Blaine or Coon Rapids friends are out. This is definitely your typical "local" sports bar. There have always been a lot of people when I go. Not that it's the greatest crowd, but at least they're usually a relatively young crowd (in this area, you sometimes pop into a place to find only old men in the waning years of their lives). Darts and pool can keep you entertained, if your not entertained enough people watching. Summary: Typical sports bar, good prices, normal mixes (not weak or strong), and a descent weekend crowd. The drinks are good, the food is good and the people are fun! Serving sizes are generous and it's affordable. I'm a fan of dive bars in general and particularly enjoyed the environment there. Lots of dartboards, pool tables and entertainment. When I returned for bingo recently it was packed and I realized I had recognized some of the people from the few times I had been there in the past year. It's always reassuring to see regulars. RickyRox Karaoke is one of the best in town. Huge stage..powerful amps and top produced music so when I do Madman across the Water or Black Dog it's authentic! Scoops has two for one on anything and buck fifty burgers are a steal and so are the 35 cent wings! Very down to earth atmosphere and the bartenders are HOT and sweet! We came here on a Monday night because I wanted to treat my boyfriend to some birthday drinks. We had never been here before but it was a good opportunity to try a new bar in the area. For a Monday night, it was busy and we could tell even before stepping into the bar. Their big parking lot was nearly full and when we entered, customers packed both the tables and bar. We quickly realized it was bingo night, and felt a little out of place amongst the older crowd, but it was entertaining to watch. I got the feeling that locals like to come here a lot, whether to mingle with peers on a weekend or grab a quick drink on a weekday. We were of the latter. My boyfriend chose to get a beer and I got a whiskey sour. When our bartender brought them to us, she gave us two of each. We thought it was a mistake, but assumed that it must've been a 2 for 1. So hip hip hooray for cheap drinks! The only downfall of this was that the bartender wasn't the best at making drinks. At least she was a kind lady. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt because I haven't tried any of her other drinks...but the whiskey sours were all sour and no whiskey. Scratch that. It was all sour+some melted ice cubes. Watered down drinks with no alcohol taste to them is a no no. My boyfriend's decision on getting a beer was a solid call. I felt like even with the 2 for 1 deal, it wasn't worth my money to pay for drinks that were barely drinks. We didn't try any of the food however, a man came up to the bar counter and asked them to recommend a burger to him and I have to say, their options sounded amazing. Based on their description, I could tell their burgers are of the greasy nature with all the right fixin's. Maybe I'll have to take a look at the menu next time we're in. Their bartenders all seem like down to earth people, and one of them has such a hardy and infectious laugh. I'm sure most customers have a good ol' time here...but based on my experience with my drinks, I'd have to say that drinking before you come out to this bar might be a better option. read more

My moms food was colder than my water and over cooked, my dads burger was also over cooked and my food was so greasy I could squeeze the grease out. If I could give zero stars. I am giving Scoops 4 stars because their happy hour well drinks are super cheap! They have a great area for Karoke and they have lots of floor space. There is outdoor seating pool and darts( on a machine). The bartender and waitresses are great about checking if you need anything. All credit card transactions require a ten dollar minimum which is something to keep in mind. read more

Looks smaller from the outside, but when you walk through the front doors you're greeted by a good ol' northern bar scene with tons of space. Plenty of locals around to make you feel at home. I will never eat or drink here again. Food is disgusting. From the bar you can see mold behind the bar. They can't get an order right to save their lives. Staff didnt seem to listen at all. The floor looked like it hadnt been mopped in weeks. Smells stale. read more

Terrible customer service. Been there a few times and Brandi or Randi (whatever the bartenders name is) is always rude! She never smiles and is rude and abrupt. She definately should not be in customer service. Can't believe they would keep her...Hello? if you want people to come back you need to have nice, courtious, friendly staff!
