We had the worst service. Forgot drinks, got one meal after the rest of our party was pretty finished eating. Got my own boxes and napkins. Only 4 tables with guests. Then the owner/gm "threw" a sign at us with rules for kids because our child was playing in the sand. He said f you to us when we confronted him that we had asked staff if we could sit out on the patio area. Will never go back. My husband has played volleyball there for over 20 years. Will not give them another dime. This establishment does not deserve the support of our community. So sad. read more

Horrible service. Our waitress took our drink order then returned with a water fifteen minutes later. A table sat 20 minutes after us and she took both of our food orders at the same time and they got their meal ten minutes before us. My friends and I stopped here with a bridal party today and had the worst experience with our waiter. Our server, Travis, was extremely rude and acted as if our orders were an inconvenience, even when someone asked for a side of ranch. Not to mention taking shots on the job with his friends, who proceeded to call the next bar we were going to and accused us all of not paying our tabs. I was disappointed not only with the service but also with the overall atmosphere, which felt tense and uninviting. We won't be returning to Mama G's anytime soon. The service at Mama G's is horrible! We sat at an outside booth for 10 minutes waiting for someone to come over and acknowledge us. When that didn't happen we went inside and sat and still nobody for another 10 minutes. No acknowledgment. We left and went to Chantaclear. We were served immediately there-thank god! A hidden gem!! We passed this spot a few times. Never thought about going there. One night, this was one of the only places open. My husband suggested getting take out from here. Best decision ever!! Visited this evening for the very first time. I will say that I could tell it was short staffed. Employee behind bar was the first to appraise, asking if we were having food to bring ketchup and napkins over. About 5 mins after that a server came and asked what we wanted to drink. We ordered and employee behind bar brought them fairly quick. I noticed our waitress serving, attending and rushing by our booth and the three in front of us multiple times. A good 10 minutes went by with her not coming back ( sympathetic we grabbed popcorn to eat while waited for her to come back) . During this time I had a view of the booths in front of me which she was regularly attending. Another 5 mins a couple sat down next to us at a high top. They were immediately greeted by our waitress she took their food and drink order . She easily could have turned around and took our order. She walked away. A few minutes go by and the high table next to us is brought their drinks and then food. Our drinks are completely empty. The waitress never acknowledges our table. I'd say about 20 mins from the time our drinks were brought to us and empty the waitress finally comes and says "want to pit food in" . At that time we say, I think we'll pass because it's been such a long wait and we don't have much time . The waitress replies " well I'm the only waitress here tonight " , very snotty. If that was the case the person behind the bar bringing food out should have helped her more. It also didn't excuse the fact I had a clear view of her attending to the other booths in front and beside us just fine. I can side with the on the fact she may have been having a bad day , but her attitude as a waitress was so unacceptable. New residents to Maple Grove, first time here and won't be back. I'm sure regulars are treated well here. If you're not I highly recommend Paules in Maple Grove or lfor much better service! read more

Don't go here if you value your freedom. I Ubered here one night and had some drinks. They overserved me, never cut me off, never offered me a cab, and just assumed I was driving home so they called the police and a cop was waiting for me outside at bar closing time to try and arrest me for a DWI. After a couple years of being a regular here apparently this was their way of saying they don't like me there. Boy was there egg on their face when I got my phone out and started ordering an Uber and my car wasn't even in the parking lot. It was a total setup. The cop even drove me home and wanted to see my car at home. I placed one call in the morning to complain and they hung up on me. So I looked up the owner's number and texted him once to complain figuring he wouldn't like it either and he called the police again to try and get me in trouble with the law claiming harrassment. Again it didn't work. The police told me that they were told I got in a bouncer's face when they don't even have bouncers on Thursdays and they just figured I was going to drive home so they called the police. If the police was waiting for me at closing time that call was placed far in advance. I thought about suing for slander and defamation, but haven't yet. So, I'm reviewing this business, negatively and truthfully. read more

Always loved coming here, lived in the area my whole life. Management the last few months has been so unprofessional just about every time we have been in. The most recent time a table got up to leave, they were there the entire time we were and there were no issues. A woman who claimed to be a manager followed the group out, put hands on one of the woman and screamed multiple profanities at her before slamming the door in here face. We had our children with us who witnessed it. We don't know what the issue was but regardless this is unacceptable from a manager of a business. It was so bad we it seemed to us like the manager had been drinking. We will not support a business that allows this type of behavior from so called managers. read more

Worst service EVER. Because we walked in not a regular and not wearing biker gear we were completely ignored. No greeting from either of the servers who were busy yapping with all of their friends that apparently they hadn't seen in a while. Bartender in the restraunt was great. We stiffed the outside servers due to their incompetent effort and gave the bartender inside cash... hopefully she won't share it because the 2 outside CERTAINLY did not deserve it. We enjoyed Mama G's this evening while staying at the KOA down the road. It's very much a dive bar atmosphere with extremely loud music playing inside. Like super loud that you pretty much have to scream to hear anyone. If your expecting table service, expect a wait. But other then that the food was actually pretty darn tasty. The chicken club sandwich was delicious, my daughter had the fish sandwich and said it was the best sandwich she's ever had. The burgers were good and the pasta salad that accompanied our main course was flavorful and yummy. It does look like a fun place to check out for evening cocktails and play some outdoor games (volley ball and corn hole). I'd definitely come back if we are in the area again but will most definitely sit outside where we can hear those around us speak. read more

They have a decent beer selection, with three Sam Adams beers on tap, plus Surly and Angry Orchard. For the beer it's a decent place to go. Several TVs for sports, and an outdoor area for activities and smoking. In that regard it's good. They have food, so we ordered the buffalo wings and a large thin crust pizza. The wings were skimpy with very little meat, and the skin was too crusty. 8 wings for $7 is unreasonable; especially when they weren't very good quality wings. The sauce was otherwise good. The pizza was relatively flavorless. It was missing salt on the crust, and numerous seasonings in the sauce. The sauce literally tasted like bland tomato purée. Service from the bar was immediate, but from the waitress was incredibly slow. I had an empty glass for 10+ minutes before the waitress appeared for a refill. All beer, regardless of brewer, was in a clear plastic keg cup. When you order a Sam Adams or Surly, it should be served in a proper beer glass. Probably a good place to go if you're a local and don't want to go far; but being a local, I'll keep driving next time. Basic bar food. Everyone loves chicken wings and fries when their buzzed! However, we couldn't find a sitter tonight to watch a friend play volleyball and decided to bring them with. Not such a great idea. They DO NOT have high chairs for children, rather your sitting inside, or out. So I had to go to the car and get the stroller which they said was okay to bring in. Awkward! Lol and they have no kids menu though, I wasn't the only idiot to think it was okay to bring kids. (Thank god) so lesson learned....... DONT BRING YOUR KIDS!!! Other than that. Super fun place. Outside volleyball and other games, lots of beer. The best part a bar with swings outside to drink and just relax. What a fun place to spend a summer evening. Lots of league volleyball to watch while sitting on a swing at the bar. The food was ok . . . the cheese with the pretzels was a little yuk, but the pretzels were soft and good. The walleye sandwich was big and perfectly crispy, but maybe a little fishy tasting. The fries were great . . . and lots of beer choices. Staff was friendly, other patrons were friendly. Won't hesitate to go again. Maybe the pizza or a burger next time. read more

We live just down the road from Mama G's and we love it. The food is great. The bar has a old town, everybody knows your name vibe. They offer volleyball, pool, pull tabs, etc. If they're busy, waiting on service can be a bit of a drag but it's worth it. read more

Before you try their pizza you should ask if it is their new crust or their old crust. Their new crust ruined what was a great bar with awesome pizza. Now it is a fun place to go and have a drink, but their new pizza tastes like Aunt Mables frozen pizza from the 80's and 90's. I think this is technically Maple Grove, not Loretto, but whatever. I mostly know this as a volleyball bar with dart leagues. Any time anyone says they are going to Mama G's, this is what they're going for. The food is nothing special, but I would give a shout-out to the wings; they are better-than-average. You can get them normal (fried) or grilled. My favorite (besides standard buffalo, fried) is the Thai chili grilled. They have a good, sweet heat that tastes lighter, healthier, but probably isn't. They do all-day happy hour, which is always a treat (from open to 5 or 6pm). They also do a beer and a burger for $5 during weekday lunches. The burger is your standard bar burger, but decent size and great price. They also have a cute little outdoor bar (for the volleyball players, cornhole players, etc) with some swing chairs set-up. read more
