    Caribbean Fried Chicken Sandwich
    Cass A.

Visited over lunch on a Friday. The parking lot was packed but we were seated right away. They let us know the menu had recently changed and shared their recommendations. I opted for the Caribbean Fried Chicken Sandwich which was the perfect balance of sweet and heat. Sometimes I don't love pineapple on sandwiches because they can be overpowering, but this was a welcome addition. The chicken was hot, juicy, and had a nice crunch. The fries were meaty and crispy. I love their list of unique sauce options! We tried their homemade ranch and sriracha honey lime. Both went great with our fries. I'll definitely be returning because of the quality and there are at least a few more items I want to try!

Great brunch! Kaylee was awesome. The breakfast rice bowl was delicious and satisfying.

I've been meaning to try this is place and finally found an occasion. The menu doesn't have too many things that sounded great, but I went with the shrimp tacos. I was happy with my choice; the tacos were flavorful, well balanced, and tasty. Great atmosphere, full of people, I recommend it!

3.5 stars, maybe? The food was just ok, especially for the price. My steak was fine though a bit overdone (requested med, there was no pink). Wings were ok. The dry rub wasn't as tasty as I had hoped. We paired with spicy honey mustard (good) and blue cheese (great). I had a pink pony club cocktail which was tasty and I got a nice buzz from. The creme brûlée wasn't the best but it was good. Service was great. I think our waiter was Steve/Stephen? and he was very attentive and friendly. I always judge service on how well they refill my water and he was on it. The restaurant is nice. We were kind of in a back corner which was fine but I maybe would have liked to be closer to the "action".

Seriously. Watch out, look out, the Grackle has taken first place easily in my reviews. Yes, it was busy. Yes, there was a wait - but who cares!! It is that good (ok the Perfect Storm Burger) Welcoming staff, amazing server (thank you Crystal!) and great food. I tend to order burgers while in travel and the Perfect Storm completely clew me away! Amazing flavor, perfectly cooked and the ideal bread to meat ratio. Kudos to the owners who are staying with the idea of a scratch kitchen, the food quality speaks for itself. In these times of over the top restaurant prices, I have zero issues eating here. Highly recommend Grackle!!

Potato dippers up front. Dipping sauces on the side. Wild rice burger in the back. Go get 'em.

This place is pretty wonderful. The challenge with being consistently good is they can get busy especially in the weekends. Make sure to check if you need reservation's. Today was Potato sippers with sauces. The sauces are pretty awesome. We got Sriracha, ginger lime and Thai chili. The sandwich was wild rice burger. It's pretty darn good too. Coffee today as it's a mellow one.

Met friends for brunch here. The place is huge! Kind of industrial looking with oversized booths and clean / modern decor. Our server was Ximena, while a little difficult to understand once in a while due to her accent, she was amazingly attentive and did a great job spacing the appetizers with the meals. The tuna stacker appetizer was delicious, the elote dip good but a little forgettable. One friend ordered the steak & eggs and another friend ordered the Asada chilaquiles, and the steak temps got mixed up between the two, but both friends really enjoyed their meals. The wild rice soup was ordered by 2 of the friends, and they both said it was thick and very filling and luscious. I ordered the strawberry bacon jam burger, cooked medium. It was spot on perfect, juicy and so tasty and flavorful. They make everything in house, including the strawberry jam! We also ordered the Creamy Serrano pasta and added grilled chicken. This dish is spicy and mouthwatering and craveable.... I want to go back and get it again! A bit on the expensive side overall, but a treat, nonetheless. If your ok spending a lot of money, check out Grackle. FYI, they are a sister restaurant of Margie's Kitchen in Andover, and I'm a huge fan of MKC!! Only deducting a star because of the overall cost compared to value.

Our next visit was very yummy and we expanded beyond the appetizer menu. I waffle a bit between 3 and 4 stars but at the moment it's my favorite restaurant in Maple Grove so I'll stick with 4.

    Seared Halibut
    Tpl K.

The seared halibut was fresh, flavorful, and a generous portion, the lemon pistachio cream was incredible! The dry-aged pork chop was juicy, big, and topped with crispy sweet potatoes and fig glaze such a great combo. Plenty of sides to choose from, which is a nice bonus. The plantain was just okay, but the other dishes more than made up for it. Service was a bit slow, but understandable given staffing. I'll definitely be back!

Had a lunch meeting with NBC's John Ziegler (Minnesota's best meteorologist) and we decided to try Grackle. The vibe is great--such a noticeable upgrade from the previous tenant but honestly, the food is even better. We ordered the tostada salad with spicy shredded chicken and the steak wrap, and both were outstanding. They've also got a really solid drink list, but since it was a lunch meeting we kept it simple. We'll definitely be back--next time with our wives, there is lots more to try!

Quick pleasant service. Asked about their coffee and how brewed and type - light or dark. Server nicely provided a sample of the brew of the day. Both my portion and my partner's were of adequate size. For the price the soup was just right.. and reminded me of the old fashioned chicken wild rice soup the church ladies make - deliciously creamy. Seating area in the bar was nice quiet and clean for a mid day lunch.

Met 2 friends here for brunch. The inside has great natural lighting and a nice seating setup. Although the service was spotty our server was polite. It has a typical American menu with a variety of choices. Amongst the group we had: Artichoke dip- flavorful Shrimp tacos- sweet and spicy French toast- the flavor was good but too mushy for my liking Cheeseburger sliders- typical but liked the grilled onions

Dry rib chicken wings with a side of ranch and the sweet Thai sauce- get the sauce on the side! The dry rib is delish!

I have passed this place sooo many times since it opened and decided it was time to give it a shot! So glad we did! There is plenty of free parking! I would recommend getting a reservation. We got in right away with a reservation, but I saw plenty of people seated in the lobby hoping for a table to open up. The vibes are new, modern and relaxed. This would be a great first date spot! As far as the kiddos, I'd say leave them home for this spot. The service here was fantastic! Our server was Charles and he did a great job making sure our water glasses were full, that we were enjoying each item we ordered and that we were well taken care of! He was a delight! The food: We started with drinks. My boyfriend got a beer, which he really enjoyed and I got a nonalcoholic rhubarb lemonade! Very refreshing and a perfect amount of rhubarb! Next was the cheesy tuscan dip! Absolutely get this!! You can pick between bread or chips and I think either would be delicious with this! It was creamy, cheesy and wasn't too hot when it came out! For entrees, my boyfriend got the salmon burger and basically inhaled it! He said it was done very well and had great flavors! I got the dry rub chicken wings from the appetizer section. Do yourself a favor and get these, but get the sauce on the side! The dry rub was delicious!! When I saw creme brûlée, I knew I had to get it! So many places have this as a dessert item and fail at making it correctly! This place is not one of them, and dare I say the best in the twin cities!? It was cool, creamy, the sugar was done well! The flavor was spectacular! I'll definitely be thinking about this for awhile! Save room and give it a try as well!! I would absolutely recommend this place!

The vibes were laid back and welcoming. The Santa Fe Steak Bowl was flavorful and filling. The pan seared tenderloin was cooked well, and the grilled onions, peppers, avocado, pico de gallo, crispy wontons, and cheese all came together nicely over the rice. It wasn't life changing, but it was good enough. The boneless wings were crispy, juicy, and even better dipped in the ranch. I liked how it was overly sauced. The burrata bruschetta was fresh and delicious, with creamy burrata, flavorful tomato bruschetta, and a balsamic drizzle that paired perfectly with the toasted bread. The chicken wild rice soup was rich, creamy, and a little saltier than I preferred but the cup portion was generous. We dipped the bruschetta in it and it was delicious ! I'd definitely come back to try more from the menu.

It was not great. The problem? I think it was because owner/chef Rene Ruiz Olivar was acting as waiter, not chef. We gave Sr. Ruiz the freedom to choose our tapas, with one exception, the black ink pasta with scallops and shrimp (Tinta Negra) that reviewers have raved about. He said, no problema--he would serve it. Then he must have forgotten because we never got it. The first tapa served, almond-crusted manchego (Almendrado), was plated prettily and was delicious but oh-so-sweet. It was an odd choice for a starter, would have been better as the finale in case nobody ordered dessert. Soon came a lamb tapa (Cordero). The lamb chops' quality was uncertain as the meat was severely overcooked. El Bodegon's langoustines (Gambas al Ajillo) had given every bit of their sea flavor to the sauce, which was magnificent, we all agreed. But where were the dish's promised mussels, the rice? One shared plate, a beef tenderloin tapa (Carne Brava), had apparently lingered too long in the kitchen--the meat was nearly cold. I adore papas bravas (Patatas Bravas). I must have had the dish a dozen times or more during my last trip to Spain, in 2017, when I visited friends who live in Ronda. During my six-week stay, we toured Andalucia, staying at hotels in large cities and visiting small towns. I also spent time sola in Madrid and Barcelona. Unlike in Spain, El Bodegon's potatoes were diced to death. Never in Spain have I ever had patatas bravas that were not substantial in size. All in all, I found the vegetables accompanying the tapas unrecognizable except for the tiny Brussels sprouts. The rest seemed chopped up or stirred to pieces in the pan. Some of my friends had churros for their dessert. They deemed them appropriately hot and tasty. My dessert was cheesecake torte, decked out with a candle as it was my 90th birthday. The torte was a gold-star winner. It was absolutely delicious, its plating the most successful of the evening. It was so perfect it almost made up for the sub-par tapas that preceded it. One of us had a view of the kitchen from his seat at the table. He saw a man other than the chef/owner doing the cooking. Was he a trainee? Did Sr. Ruiz help with the plating? God knows he didn't have a lot patrons to contend with in his role as waiter. It was a slow weeknight, and there were never more than four tables occupied. I sincerely regret that our time at El Bodegon differs from so many reviewers. Like them, I want to see Sr. Ruiz's little restaurant succeed. He has a hard row to hoe, and I hope a disappointing dinner like ours does not befall anyone else going forward.
