I thought of giving three stars as the bulgogi bowl was overly saucy and salty. The servers are very nice and easy going. They accommodate our party of five, checked on us very often. The food is big portion, I'd recommend to build your own bowl if you don't like your bowl being too overly saucy. We ordered 2 of them and both came too saucy. Rest of the food seems fine. Nice restaurant, good environment, nice and clean bathroom, has baby changing station in the ladies room. read more

This was my first time here, and I brought my daughter for a mother-daughter dinner on Wednesday evening. First, parking is difficult to find. My daughter ended up having to park quite a distance away and had a long walk to the restaurant. If parking is this difficult on a Wednesday evening, I can only imagine what it's like on a Friday or Saturday night. We were promptly seated, and since reservations are required, I was surprised the restaurant wasn't very full or particularly busy. Our first waitress was extremely friendly. She brought us menus and water, and I told her I needed a few minutes before ordering. About 10 minutes later, she returned and explained that her manager was pulling her from the floor, so another server would be taking care of us. A little while later, the new waiter approached our table. There was no greeting or "hello"--just, "Are you ready to order?" We placed our order, and my daughter asked for a straw for her drink. We waited about five minutes while he continued moving around the restaurant serving other tables. Finally, I got up, walked the four feet to the bar behind me, grabbed a straw myself, and brought it back to the table. Our food eventually arrived. My daughter ordered the Bulgogi Bowl, and I ordered the GF Flatbread (pizza). If you need gluten-free, be aware that there is an additional charge for the GF crust, but this isn't listed on the menu the menu simply states "gluten-free crust available", and the waitstaff did not mention the extra pricing when I ordered. You find out when you get the bill. Also, calling it a "GF Flatbread" is a bit misleading. What I received was more like a doughy and undercooked gluten-free pizza crust. It was also barely lukewarm, and the cheese had already started to congeal so my guess it sat up on the counter for some time before being brought to the table. Unfortunately, our waiter never came back to check on us, so I didn't have the opportunity to ask him to have it cooked a little longer. When we finished eating, the waiter finally came by, and we asked for a to-go container. Once again, we waited nearly 10 minutes. At that point, I got up, walked to the bar, asked the bartender for a container, and brought it back to our table myself. Overall, our waiter was not attentive. He came across as though he was either unhappy to be working or simply having a bad night. I genuinely hope his evening improved. One thing I found particularly interesting was that, while we were eating, I noticed our original waitress--the one who told us she was being pulled from the floor--was still waiting on other tables. By the time we had finished our meal and paid and on our way out the door, she was still out on the floor. Had we had her for service, I wonder if our dinner would have gone differently, like this review? The food may have potential, but unfortunately, the service and my gluten-free meal left a lot to be desired. For a mother-daughter dinner that I was looking forward to, the experience was disappointing read more

Mains and apps were pretty good, service was ok and drinks were meh. I actually enjoyed the food, the Bulgogi bowl was petty tasty, however the steak could have been a little more flavorful. What was most disappointing was they just don't have that big of selection of whiskies for being called Copper and Rye. They do have a big wall displaying some run of the mill whiskies but I was a little confused, was it just for decoration or does the bartender pull out a ladder from somewhere if you want to try any of them? Not that many whiskey cocktails on the menu either, an Old Fashioned, a Manhattan and a Banana infused rye drink. read more

I grabbed a seat at the bar, and the bartender immediately made me feel welcome. The atmosphere was inviting from the moment I walked in, and you could tell this is a favorite among locals and families. Since it was my first visit, she let me know it was happy hour and recommended the street corn flatbread as a starter. I'm glad she did. It was something I had never tried before, and it was excellent. The crust was perfectly buttered, golden, and crisp, while the toppings were well balanced and not overwhelming. I also ordered the bulgogi bowl. The vegetables were cooked just right, the rice had the perfect texture, and the sauce was flavorful without overpowering the dish. The only thing I would change is the meat, which was a little firmer than the tender texture you would expect from traditional bulgogi. That said, it was still a very good dish, especially for a restaurant that is not Korean. Between the FIFA match on the TVs, great cocktails, attentive service, and welcoming atmosphere, I had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the food. I'll definitely be back. read more

This is a nice restaurant near the Vikings training facility. I was impressed with the menu selection. They have a lot of yummy app or small plate selections, plus sandwiches and main entrees. We tried the whipped feta, the Swedish meatballs and prime rib sliders. The feta dip was amazing! It's served warm and has a kick. I also really enjoyed the meatballs, I just wish they had more gravy. The sliders were ok. They were like warm and just so-so. The decor is contemporary & the service was good, except they didn't clear our dirty plates from the table, which is a pet peeve. read more

We wanted to try Copper & Rye after seeing so many positive reviews, but unfortunately our experience was pretty disappointing. The biggest issue was the food. Almost everything we ordered lacked flavor and felt under-seasoned. We started with the Swedish Wagyu Meatballs, which were more reminiscent of dry meatloaf than the rich, flavorful meatballs we were expecting. The Tuna Tataki was another miss. There wasn't much tuna, and the quality felt more like previously frozen fish served over a large bed of dry rice with very little sauce to bring the dish together. We ordered the Hot Honey Chicken Bowl thinking that was a pretty easy dish to make. The vegetables were undercooked and still hard and cold in places, and the chicken was simply a plain grilled chicken breast without much flavor of the hot honey. The dish as a whole felt unfinished. Service was fine, but nothing particularly memorable. What stood out most was the price point. For the quality and execution of the food, it felt extremely expensive and didn't deliver the experience we were hoping for. Obviously it is a new restaurant so the ambiance and decor are great but not enough to carry the weight of what is lacking. Overall, we left disappointed. The concept and menu sounded promising, but the food simply didn't live up to the price or the reviews. read more

The design of the restaurant is great. Clean and welcoming. Then walking thru between bar and kitchen, two servers are chatting and blocking the way with no intention of moving after noticing us. Walk thru anyways. For initial contact we waited five minutes. Wait staff is not fully aware of the drinks or how they taste, new restaurant so not uncommon Ordered some appetizers, told our waitress one dietary restriction, she says no problem however it comes with it. The problem is I couldn't recognize till I ate some. Waitress checks in and I mentioned so she apologized and 10 minutes later another one came in and same issue!!! Manager came and apologized and offered the comp the whole check, I declined as I came to eat what I like and expecting to pay. She apologized and remove that dish from the bill as well as removed the desert. The reason I'm giving two stars is mainly for the wait staff. Kitchen would get zero. read more

A beautiful and fun new restaurant in Eagan near the Omni Hotel and Vikings TCO Stadium. Service was top notch. I just wish I had ordered something else. Food 4/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Hubby's Hot Pressed Rueben was delicious and grilled perfectly with fresh marbled rye and melty cheese. I ordered the Bulgogi Bowl. It was beautiful and the first few bites with the fried egg and crispy onion straws were amazing! However, the beef was very tough to chew and had a very bold and sweet taste. I usually love sweet, but it was too sweet even for me. Not that I expected authentic Korean flavors here, but it may not be the right flavors for everyone. I'll stick with the American food here next time. read more

On a recent business trip, I stopped here at this restaurant. It's it's an extremely large dining area, which tends to give an echo or at least to hear all the noise from other conversations. The menu look very interesting and what I ordered was very good. The service was a little bit distracted by other events going on, but I would definitely give this place another chance. read more

A new south-of-the-river restaurant in the Vikings Complex area. I met a friend here for a cocktail. We had a nice high top table-booth. There were plenty of drink choices and wine by the glass. Service was as excellent. The menu was bougie bar type and there were lots of things I would have liked to try. Will be able to when I come back. The hand-helds and flatbreads looked good. Parking is right outside the door. Nice big windows and a patio for warmer weather. Definitely coming back. read more

I wanted to love this place, but the food just wasn't hitting. The tuna tataki...the rice tasted old or undercooked. The roasted veggie and grain bowl was decent, though the sauce was very heavy. I had the same issue with the marinated half chicken where the "au jus" felt more like thick gravy. The chicken and prime tender medallions were also extremely salty. That said, Lexa was an absolute all-star. Amazing, personable service and honestly the highlight of the visit. read more

Copper & Rye feels like the kind of place you'd expect to be wildly overpriced because the decor is SO boujee and the patio setup is gorgeous, but the food/drinks were actually super reasonably priced! Such a fun spot for a summer day or night. Our server was amazing with our group! She was super attentive, so kind, and happily kept refilling my THREE lemonades! Honestly, they were so refreshing on a hot day, I couldn't help myself. Food wise, the burger was decent and they definitely do fun topping combinations, but overall the menu leaned a little more toward cozy comfort/winter-style meals than lighter summer options. One friend said her chicken melt was "the best thing ever," though, so clearly that's a must-order. Another friend was disappointed they don't offer gluten free fries, but I personally LOVED the regular fries. Crispy, salty, and covered with garlic! The patio has fun music playing, but I was honestly surprised there weren't TVs outside. The location totally feels like it would be the perfect pregame/postgame spot for watching the Vikings! Overall super cute atmosphere, great service, refreshing drinks, solid food, and a patio I'll definitely come back for! read more

Absolute gem of a restaurant... Great vibe, service and menu! Especially lived all the wagu options.

This new to us restaurant was fun to try. Ambiance is great, as is the service. It's near the Viking Lakes complex but also somewhat hidden and very unassuming. This place can handle larger groups with a wide variety of seating inside and out. A nice well curated menu with something for everyone, drinks and food! A great mid-tier restaurant with slightly elevated food. Would definitely recommend for families, girls night out or a place to watch the game. read more

Back again, for my 4th time! This time, I ordered the Oklahoma Smashburger, and it was one of the best I've had!! I would order it again in a heartbeat and definitely recommend to anyone unsure on what to order. Again, their battered fries that come on the side are just perfect - both the texture and taste. Ordered dessert to finish it off, we ordered the cookie skillet and it was phenomenal. It was perfectly gooey, warm, and rich and the perfect end to our meal here. The vanilla ice cream on top was just another great addition. Our service was great as well, she was very attentive and did great with checking in on us! read more

The restaurant is so beautiful!! The bar and tv and plants are perfect touches for this area. Our female server was AMAZING and I am so sad I cannot remember her name! Super friendly and outgoing we went with all of her recommendations for our mains and told her to surprise us for a shared dessert. We started with the creamy and delicious whipped feta dip and spicy margs! For our mains we got two bowls- one Bulgogi and one hot honey chicken. The brown butter cake was MOIST and amazing. We had a girls' night out here last week, and what a night it was! There were eight of us, all sporting matching wigs as the self-proclaimed "Karen Klub," so it's safe to say we made quite the spectacle. The food was absolutely delicious, the drinks were fantastic, and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. They were friendly, attentive, and didn't seem to mind that we were having a little extra fun and making plenty of memories (and probably a few people laugh along the way!). Thank you for helping make our night such a great experience. We'll definitely be back! read more

Copper & Rye is a restaurant I'd definitely visit again. The decor was really nice--modern, inviting, and classy without feeling overly fancy. We started with the French Onion Fries, which were delicious. The smoked cheese sauce and garlic parmesan butter made them really flavorful, but they were very salty. A little less salt would have made them excellent. Three of us ordered the Prime Rib Sandwich, and it was very good. The prime rib was tender and flavorful. Just know that the jalapeños are actually spicy, so if you don't like heat, you may want to ask for them on the side. Another person in our group had the Bourbon Bacon Burger and finished the whole thing, so I'd say that was a success too. For dessert, I tried the Flan Brûlée. I'm glad I finally got to try one! It was good, but I still prefer the smoother, creamier texture of a traditional crème brûlée. Overall, Copper & Rye has a great atmosphere, good food, and enough unique menu items that I'd happily return to try more. read more

What a great spot in Eagan! My husband's family used to live in the apartments next to this spot, and when we were in the area we decided to try it out. The ambiance is incredible, with a beautiful outdoor patio and spacial indoor space with a great bar and tv situation. Would definitely come here for a Bloody Mary and a game! We enjoyed lunch on the Patio - and I loved their Pineapple Ginger mocktail, they even adjusted it to be heavier on the soda than the ginger beer for me! It was sweet and spicy with a great balance. We started with the feta dip which was addicting - I'm still thinking about it! It was spicy, sweet and tangy. My only downside was the bread was too heavily toasted to the point where it was a little hard. I enjoyed the roasted veggie bowl and my husband loved his burger. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu! read more

Great environment with choice of sitting indoors or out on their patio. We started with the happy hour pretzel bites. They were a pretty good sized portion and came with a queso dip as well as a mustard dip. They were very yummy! For my main course I went with the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp and Grits. It was amazing! Plentiful size and I had never had shrimp and grits quite like this! Nashville hot sauce and pickled peppers gave it a unique flavor and a little bit a heat! (But not too much) The service was wonderful! Will definitely return! read more

I really wanted to enjoy this meal, but unfortunately it missed the mark. The evening started off fine. My friend and I both ordered the basil gin cocktail, and both agreed it was extremely sweet and overwhelmingly lemony. I almost never send drinks back, but this was a rare night out for me and I was only planning to have one cocktail, so I politely asked if I could order something different. I was fully prepared to pay for a replacement. Before I could explain that I simply didn't like the drink--and that I was happy to pay for another--our waitress abruptly grabbed it, asked what I wanted instead, and walked away. About 10 minutes later she came back to tell me the bar was backed up, and my replacement didn't arrive until our food came out. Unfortunately, the food was pretty underwhelming as well. Our waitress rarely checked on us after that, and we honestly felt uncomfortable asking for something as simple as an extra plate. She did remove the original cocktail from my bill, which I appreciated. However, I would have gladly paid for a replacement if the situation had been handled with a little more warmth and professionalism. It wasn't the cost of the drink that bothered me--it was the service. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, especially for what was supposed to be a special night out. read more

Look, this place has sports on big screens and a bar with pull tabs. Don't be confused with their modern "fancy" design. Didn't let their "upscale" wannabe menu trick you. It's all just, meh. The menu was put together by someone with no taste buds. The dinner menu makes no sense in reality. It sounds good, but the execution is lacking. Truffle ravioli? Not a trace of truffle, but it did have a whole lot of salt and other flavors that don't go together. Lobster queso nachos? Sounds exciting, tastes real bad, reminding you seafood and cheese don't mix. Steak medallions? More like thin beef rectangles. They weren't seasoned at all, and sat on the very very plain mashed potatoes. Green onions cut on a bias don't make the dish taste better, just more posing. Drinks were good, service was fine. They need to dial in the menu flavors, have somebody consult on dishes or get a chef that can taste properly. read more

My husband and I met friends for a happy hour on a Friday afternoon. We were seated on the patio which was perfect (except for the planes taking off from MSP). Their selection of happy hour drinks is acceptable but the food selection is pretty lame. That said, we had the prime rib sliders (one complained that there was too much fat and grissle although that was not our experience the first time we had them). We also had the Ahi tuna (okay but more sauce than tuna. Too much going on), the pretzel (delicious!), the sausage board (also quite yummy), the pepperoni flatbread which was good. Finally, we topped it all off with the maple bacon donuts. OMG! You MUST try these!! Our server was Andy who was appropriately attentive and quite friendly and helpful. We did provide some onsite feedback and added here as well. We were served ice water to start yet refills were pretty warm. Recommend that ice be added to the pitchers for refills. It was a very hot day and ice would have been appreciated. The wine selection is perfect as is the cocktail selection. All were quite tasty! This restaurant is fairly new and will, hopefully, accept positive feedback from customers and adjust accordingly. We look forward to returning to try some entrees! read more

Mediocre is the nicest thing I can come up with for this place. We went last evening, gorgeous weather and beautiful patio space. The server was friendly but not very good, nothing that would keep us from going back, just meh. But the food! Wow was that just bad. We had the tuna tartare & kale salad which were the best things we ate and they were barely fine. We also ordered the potato puffs and they had no flavor. Then for meals we ordered the medallions and a smash burger. The first order of medallions were so cooked they had to be sent back and they were remade and still were terrible, just a little less done. The smash burger was so lame. Not smashed at all, looked more like frozen patties and had zero flavor. The prices are very high for very bad food. I don't mind paying for a great meal but wow, this missed the mark! read more

Understanding this is a new business, hopefully they'll learn & improve. The layout & flow of customers relative to the kitchen & bar is horrible. The designer should refund its fee. They failed at every level. Had a reservation for seven (7) after a high school graduation ceremony at TCO stadium. Thousands of people given back to back to back schools. The staff was overwhelmed, poor planning. The host tried to stuff us into a booth for four. Had to get a manager involved to resolve. Drink order #1 was OK and took several trips for our party to get their order. Again, a staffing issue. Appetizer order took forever and came out in phases, guessing the kitchen couldn't get two simple dishes to the pass simultaneously. Entree's took three separate trips and had we not directed each dish to the correct person in our party, the server had no clue who ordered what. Second round of beverages found a spritzer missing the mint. Minor, but a miss. Smash burgers of various kinds were the majority of our tables order. Not smash burgers, rather gray patties that are par cooked, cupping and covered with whatever specialty, cheese, sauce etc. Each was overly salted, undercooked & not a fresh smashed burger patti. Greasy, flavorless patties on soggy buns. Butter burgers at Culver's are far superior to what we were served yesterday. Cooks should taste what they're sending out as a penalty for poor performance. Seasoned battered fries were overly seasoned & greasy, dead on delivery to the table. A plain flatbread cheese pizza was served without a marinara sauce. Think cheese bread and poorly baked crust was inedible. Prime rib sandwich was more like Steakums, a bit rubbery and hidden under cheese sauce (think ballpark nachos), too many greens and "stuff". Again it's a newer spot but it's clear they were unprepared, poorly trained, lack quality control and physically working in a poorly laid out bar/restaurant. read more

Been in business for a total of 6 days. The vibe is super cool. Love the bar. Food was great except needs some refinement. I hate full wings. Too hard to eat. You need to cut them up.
