Nice bar in the suburbs! I loved the self service beer wall. You have to get a card from the bartender and pay how many ounces you get when you are done. I liked the choice of doing the flight since I'm always trying to taste everything. They had a wide variety and I usually like the fruit beers and I found the pineapple one to be delicious! The old fashion was quite strong! The bar is pretty big and open, good for mingling. The food looked delicious too but we were only here for late night drinks. They have popcorn and pull tabs available too. They also do trivia and happy hour. We loved the vibes here. The bartender was friendly, servers got us water once but don't come back to check on us but we were ok with being left alone that night. read more

Meh! Really sums up our experience. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon because this place was one of our stops for a free pint of beer in our Pub Pass. Decided to try some of their food which wasn't the best decision on our end. The cheese curds were quite literally floating in grease and most of the cheese had seeped out of the breading. The pickle fries were good, but the batter lacked flavor. Thankfully they were served with season sour cream which was quite spicy! All in all, we don't feel the need to return. First time visit, wasn't sure what to expect. We walk in and see the "seat yourself" sign. Grab a table and then realize there is no server coming to take our order. Food ordered at the window (onion ring appetizer, grilled chicken wrap and a burger.) :::::::45 minutes pass:::::: I walk to the window to inquire about our food. I'm told a bunch of orders came in and they got slammed that food should be out shortly (strange because there are only about 3-4 yellow table cards in the restaurant with pending orders at this time.) Unapologetic and kind of rude, this interaction (tall guy in a baseball hat who seemed too busy flirting with staff) really rubbed me the wrong way. Food came out, room temp. Onion rings were warm, not hot. Grilled chicken wrap was room temp, not hot, and served with a handful of waffle fries. Note: all food was not served at the same time. Finally the burger comes out, about an hour after we ordered. Burger was warm didn't seem freshly prepared. Weird. Bar (drinks) is self service also. I ordered a glass of Sauvy B, came to $12 and change for the glass. Water is available at the bar with carafes and cups to help yourself. Unfortunately, after pouring a glass of water we found a hair (long blonde) stuck inside the carafe. When I handed it to a server passing by (also blonde) she looked at it until I pointed out the hair and she replied "oh, weird", then walked away. Several beers on tap, tables of all sizes to accommodate small and large groups. Private room in the back had musicians headed that way (guitars) so I'm assuming they hold private events. Plenty of parking, seating was easy to find, they were about half full. So much potential but based on the self service and overall employee interactions this was a one and done. We came here for 7:00 trivia on a Thursday and arrived at 6:40, and it was super busy. We did find a spot at the bar though!! Beer on tap is serve yourself, I will say don't pour the tap too slow other wise it will be all foam, pull the lever all the way out for a good beer pour! You get a card that is valid for pretty much everything, tap beer, bar drinks and food. If you are sitting at the bar, you can order food there, but anywhere else you have to go to the food ordering station. It is pretty loud, but that is to be expected. Honestly, the food was amazing. Came for a group event before a hockey game at St. Thomas. It's actually super closeby to the arena. There wasn't really a good space for a large group, so we were kind of spread out throughout the bar. Glad it was still pretty nice outside to enjoy the patio. Food was decent, but the beer wall got my attention. You can get a card from the bar and head over and pour to your heart's content! Word to the wise, know how to pour or ask for help. Stop 1 of our 2024 Hundreds of Hops Tour did not disappoint. We came in as a party of 2, fresh off the plane & were admittedly lost on entry. The lovely lady working the bar gave us the rundown. Red print is house made & those are the passport beers. Nice & Simple. I ordered a fruited sour and the hubs got an IPA. I'm not a big IPA fan & didn't care for his , tho that was to be expected. He, however, did give it good reviews. As for my sour, it didn't have the expected effect of the tastebuds but did hit on the nose. If you're looking for tart or tang, you may be disappointed- still, the flavor was good and it oddly wasn't sweet either. We ordered pretzel bites as well and they came out fast and HOT - they fry them, giving a nice crispy outer with a tender inner, no salt & a side of cheese sauce. We spent about $18, using the hops passport. Not bad IMO. We didn't try the self-pour wall. The popular permanent "food truck" order spot is still a concept I love, as it allows ordering without clogging up the bar. Menus were available. The vibe was relaxed & family friendly. I'd definitely visit again but I don't think it stood out enough that I'd make a special trip for it. read more

You open a tab and receive a card- and you use this card to pour your own beer OR you can get beer/cocktails at the bar. You also will go up to the food stand and order food and bring a number back to your table that they will bring food out to you. Fun atmosphere! Lots of card/board games to play which was enjoyable. The food was meh. The cheese curds weren't great. Not cheese, very bready and hollow. The sauce with the curds was weird and not enjoyable. It was sweet. The pretzel bits were OK. Another stop at Union 32 to use our pubpass. We stopped here after a MN Aurora Women's soccer game at TCO stadium which is very close. The game was super hot so we opted for a table inside in the air conditioning. Their nice patio was very busy but inside was roomy. They have a decent sized menu of basically bar food. You order at an inside counter and your order is brought to your table. I had a CA burger which was good, and switched out fries for tots. While the usual way to get beer is to get a card and pour your own, our pub passes gave us one pint which we picked up from the bar. Beer was cold and delicious on a hot afternoon. read more

This is my third time at Union32. The service is pretty much cafeteria style as you serve yourself. If you want beer, you go to the bar and they provide a "pour" card that charges the card you provide. There's a separate area to place food orders. I'm not one who would ever promote a wrap, but honestly, the dang Lloyd wrap keeps me up at night. Try it with bourbon sriracha chicken. It's finger lickin' good. Their sweet potato waffle fries are worth mentioning too. They are crispy and made to order. We love getting the cheese curds as well. Thin breading and always hot. Rotation is good But it's all low ABV And all from MN I like and appreciate that Union 32 has something new for me every time that I go. Super close to the boring Vikings training camp and it can get a little boring if you want a beer that is going to blow your mind. You might have to go to the other place in Eagan for that. All of the beers are definitely from MN and all seem to be in the four to six range with an occasional outlier at like max nine percent. Can't we have like four or six non-MN ones and one or two knockout punches? Union 32 is the slow boat to China. Another nearby vessel can get you there much quicker. Another pub pass visit! This stop took me deep into the 'burbs of Eagan, at Union 32 Craft House. Union 32 is a casual style brewery with seat yourself tables and an indoor food truck. They also have a tap wall of pay per ounce beers. Today I got the House Mango Coconut Sour, which was awesome. It was refreshing and very mango forward, perfect for someone who doesn't love beer but is trying to get into it (me haha) best of all, this place has free popcorn. Nachos are large, cheese curds are good (although I wasn't a fan of the chipotle sauce) and brussel sprouts were flavorful (although a lil under done). Was SO confused as what to do. Even tho it wasn't busy yet for a Friday we stood at the front desk waiting to be seated. No one acknowledged us and we finally figured out it was seat yourself, order at the window by the kitchen etc. we loved the concept but there was no signage on what to do... we even took our menus from the 'check in' desk and grabbed a seat on the patio. Then we went and ordered at the table. Then got our beers from our pub pass. This place does have a pour your own beer wall which is such a good idea and so neat. It is such a neat place and concept but if you haven't been there before it could be really confusing if they are busy and can't let you know what to do. We sat outside and were able to get our food delivered to our table. The food take a bit to arrive but it's pretty fairly priced and also really delicious. I liked my drinks a lot but I'm not a huge fan of beer so I didn't use the beer wall but they do have an entire wall of tap beer options that you can choose from. My wife and I invited her parents to join us for our weekly "Try a new restaurant for lunch" Saturday. I have been wanting to try Union 32 for awhile now and they live south of the Cities, so it was a perfect opportunity. The place is pretty large inside and you get a beer card to pour your own beer from the 32 tap beer wall. The establishment makes their own beer and seemed to be about a fifth of the all Minnesota made selection. I decided on their house IPA and it was super tasty. We decided to sit out on the pet friendly patio, where there was a well behaved hound accompanying their owners. I ordered the BBQ Siracha tacos with a side salad instead of the chips and salsa. The salad was super fresh and had good blue cheese dressing, lots of fresh onions and diced tomatoes, very solid. The three small tacos came in mini flour tortillas and the stuffed them full of flavorful grilled chicken. I was very impressed! My father-in-law got the fish and chips and said they were very good and my mother-in-law liked her wild rice soup. Great place for lunch and beer! read more

Really enjoyed this craft house. Now, it was a gorgeous day outside, so my friends and I sat outside in the sunshine. Inside, you get a card that's linked to your credit card. You pour your own beer from a selection of almost 50 different choices. You pay by the ounce. So if you want to do a flight, you only pay for what you drink. I picked one of the local beers as well as a sweet child of vine from Surly. Both were great. They have employees help you with the pour if you need that. I did my first time. Poured all foam (my college self would not be happy with me). The trick is to open the tap all the way as you slant your glass. My second serving was much better! You can order good. We got the cheese curds and pretzel bites. Both were great! There's free popcorn that was buttery and delicious! Great place to watch a sports game or bring the family. They have board games to play at all age levels. I saw they have a trivia night on Thursdays that I have to check out. Definitely go back. There's really nothing around it, but that doesn't matter. I drive by this bar all the time and have completely overlooked it! I finally stopped in for evening drinks and I was very impressed. It's super spacious and there are tons of seating options. It's a great spot for just about anything; meeting coworkers, friends, family, or a date. I will definitely be stopping in here again. There was good music and it was loud, but not too loud. Inaugural stop in yesterday....considering Union 32's been around six years...already! Took a seat @ the bar, discussed taps w friendly beertender Sam who informed me it was happy hour so it'd be cheaper to buy a pint pour for $4 then do the pour my own off the wall. I started out w one of Sam's go-to's, the Uffda IPA. As not really an IPA person, I found it really well balanced NE Hazy and would be my favorite of the three I tried Sunday; the Northern Lites American Light and House Hibiscus Punch, a wheat/fruited beer. All the beers were good, thanks brewmaster Mike that Sam was giving props to as he poured my beer. I would agree w Sam, that Mike is a good brewer! I decided to get something to eat...asking Sam about the Marky Mark, he said it was a big seller. To which I followed it up with: you'd get Marky Mark over the Cali Burger? Sam: I'd get the burger! I ordered the burger sans tomato and onion. Sam asked what I wanted for a side? I asked what it came with? Sam said "tator tots, fries or cajun fries" I opted for tots.... This is where it falls apart.... I didn't read the menu for the sides, nor to see what was an upgrade? The first mentioned tots were a $2 upgrade. I loathe when staff says it as if it's a free option and doesn't clarify the charge. Just for the principal of.... I can eat a different version of potatoes cooked in grease for cheaper.... So my food came; there was a generous serving of tots and the burger wasn't good, it was so delicious! I ended up eventually eating the whole burger so I left half my Hibiscus Punch, as there was no way I was eating my meal AND drinking that last beer. I get the check, looking it over, I exclaim "you charged me $2 for tots?!" Sam "well yeah" Me: no, no, no I thought those were a side that came with it?! Sam: I can take them off if you want? Me: yes, I do want! He didn't bring a new tab so I paid the bill I was given. Sam was an excellent beertender. He was friendly, knowledgeable as we spent my visit discussing breweries and beer. So I took off a star because I'm feeling salty about the tots charge, despite being partially @ fault as I didn't look @ the menu to see they were an upgraded option. All the doors were open to the patio so there was a comfortable breeze inside. When I was tabbing out Sam opened a plastic jar & pulled out a purple like thing(?). I asked what it was? Sam said a Dirty Cherry, used in Old Fashioned's. Did I want to try one? I did, and it was.....interesting, a chewy cherry that's not so sweet, like a cordial. I love craft beer. I love this place. Huge, modern, trendy, classy space. Definitely not the kind of concrete-floor, industrial warehouse type of brewery we've grown accustomed to. It was still mostly self-serve (especially the pour-your-own wall), but the high -end atmosphere made it feel like you'd expect table service! The staff was super friendly and helpful, as if they all loved working there (refreshing in today's day and age). We tried several beers and our favorite of the night was the Winter Fest. We ordered chicken strips & fries to go with our beer - that hit the spot. Good place -- we'll be back, wish I lived closer! read more

There were 6-10 staff people standing around doing nothing but tell us how to serve ourselves. I half joked when we were getting ready to leave that we should clean our own dishes and maybe help prep the place for tomorrow. But, it's barely a joke.
