I think for the price 3 pieces would have been more appropriate. But the cod itself tasted good. The service was good. Fries, very good. Margarita very good. Service good. The music in the speaker behind my head was terrible. It was a snare drum and bass drum with distant singing. It sounded like it was playing over and over again. The crowd was a mix of ages but mostly older. I would think it would be more fun to have some 70's 80's even 90's popular music that people can relate to. Otherwise turn it down. I had heard good things about this place and I was in the neighborhood, so I stopped in for lunch recently. I was very pleasantly surprised at how good it is! I had a blood orange margarita, which was delicious and reasonably priced as well as the Bang Bang shrimp tacos. They were out of this world! We're not locals, so we're very happy we found Cabin 61!!! The lunch crowd wasn't bad for a Saturday and we were seated right away. Our waitress did a fabulous job of answering questions and seemed to stop by at just the right times. Pricing for food and drinks was reasonable. The creamy poblano & elote dip appetizer with homemade tortilla chips was addictive. My husband had the pulled pork tacos and said he would get them again. I went with the roast beef sandwich (roast beef, Italian chimichurri, Swiss, onion, tomato & arugula on herb focaccia) and it was heavenly!!!!!!!!!!!! The flavors were so well-balanced--everything hit just the right note. Maybe it's weird to say this, but the restroom was the cleanest and best laid-out I've come across in eons (I especially thought my elderly mother with mobility issues would have appreciated it if she was with us). I basically just went in to wash my hands before dining, came back to the table and raved about it so my husband had to go check it out too, and agreed. #Have you been? First timer for me. Hidden next to HWY 61, there's a little cute cabin that didn't look like a place we could stop for food. Inside, full bar with a menu with plenty of options. Loved that our server was observant and friendly. He was present when we needed him without us even asking for him. There was plenty of TV screens so we caught the MN Timberwolves playing. The ladies room was a little chilly but hey, I'm not going to complain since summer heat is around the corner. Came here to celebrate my sons birthday and brought the grandparents here to show them one of our favorite places to eat! I went for the elite style wings which are always so tasty and my son had the burger with peanut butter and jelly which was very bold of him and guess what he loved it! Who would of thought about that combination but it works. One of the new items that were a hit was the wild rice soup and I'm very excited to try that next time we come. As always service was fantastic and I'm glad we were able to bring family to this place. Hands down my favorite burger place in the Twin Cities. If I'm getting a burger I really don't like to go anywhere else as it always feels like a letdown. My go-to is the mushroom and Swiss burger. I've gotten others too and liked them quite a lot but I just can't get enough of this one. We come here weekly and I nearly always get this. The other 10% of the time I get the elote wings or something that is on special. Never been disappointed. Also love the homemade potato chip side with dill dip. Mini donuts for dessert are great as well. You really can't go wrong as far as I'm concerned. Great lively ambience and always the same friendly workers. I love the atmosphere and menu here! We went for lunch on a Friday. The restaurant wasn't that busy when we first arrived, but got quite busy while we were there. The service was great. I was torn between the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and the chicken tacos. I chose the sandwich and it was quite good! It wasn't nearly as spicy as some I have had, but still had great flavor. A hidden gem! Walking in was like visiting a family cabin for a meal. The service was fast and friendly! Lots of White Bear history all over the walls, cabin feel interior, and amazing burgers! It doesn't appear to be much, but the food is incredible! They also have a nice big outdoor patio with a small pond and a stage with live music many nights. The first time I came here... I told my family about it and we ventured for my mother in laws birthday because they have a nice patio and I recalled they were doing live music on a Tuesday night. We each had a margarita.... I had the fancy margarita that was more like a Paloma. It was refreshing. We ordered the cheese curds (yummy with the lingonberry) and fried pickles (they had so much flavor and a kick with the Cajun ranch). Both were awesome! Entrees: Oh you know I got that cauliflower bowl. It is a tad expensive when you add the protein, but it was worth it! I got to try a few bites of the Nashville fried chicken sandwich and it was nice and juicy with crispy breading. The pickles on it were divine! Of course we got tots... get the tots! I also tried a few bites of the Bourbon Blueberry Chicken Melt... this one sounded super intriguing and it was! I was expecting it to be sickly sweet and it had a really nice balance of flavors.
