Short Blonde bartender (sometimes wears pigtails) is extremely rube EVERY time I come in to this bar. I make sure to be very nice because I know how her attitude is and also make sure to Tip accordingly. The LAST time I went in I simply asked for a drink I didn't know the name of, I tried to explain it the best I could. She treated me like I was so stupid and acted like no one else has ever asked for a drink they don't know the name of... Haven't really experienced other problems with the rest of the staff, but she definitely needs to check her self, get a reality check or even better get a new job! read more

My only issue would be it's an only cash bar, and the staff can ignore you a lot and go to people who just walked up to the bar instead of you that has been waiting. Very unique very comfortable casual place for a drink. Drinks were so cheap I had to double take and when someone put on the theme song to cheers everyone was singing it together. This is a great "town" bar! You can play darts, or pool and pull tabs. It's a fun place to unwind. Awesome Happy Hours: 3-6 and 11-Midnight! Inside is nice and bright with beer signs and ample parking in the back. It is bigger inside than it looks outside. We were here for the drinks and popcorn. Hands down my favorite place to enjoy a beverage with friends and family. Love all the ladies that serve and bartend at the White Bear Bar. Bartending is a hard job because it's basically adult babysitting mixed with a little alcohol, plus it does get super busy at times. I've had the honor to get to know many of the staff members here, Majority of them work full time jobs or go to school full time so I give them props for what they do. The regulars are great too! I do not recommend this place to anyone. Blonde bartender was extremely rude and verbally attacked me. She wouldn't serve me after I got a ride to the hotel and back to get my id. She accepted a fake id but would not accept my passport. That girl is in need of therapy and a fake id training course. read more

Great dive bar with a roster of regulars. Happy hour includes 2 for the price of 1 plus $1. Fun fact: last year three armed robbers tried to hold the place up at 2am after Thanksgiving not realizing how fiercely the locals would protect their watering hole. I have been a regular at the White Bear bar since the beginning of November when I first moved to White Bear Lake. I have always treated the bartenders well and have always tipped them very well. The bartenders are mostly all young women and there are no men that work as bartenders at this bar. MOST of the bartenders will always wait on men first even if you were there before them. Especially if you are a decent looking woman! If the bartenders don't like you; they will be very rude to you and find a reason to kick you out. I was accused of "hate crimes" and saying "multiple" slurs and then made to leave the bar. Anyone who knows me knows that I am not a racist. I am a Registered Nurse who has always worked with a very diverse population. The bartender and the manager lied and said "many" people from the White Bear Hockey Association accused me of saying these racial slurs and making everyone uncomfortable. The next day I received a Facebook Messenger message from Angie E. (Manager) stating that I am kicked out for at least one year and will have to talk with management to let them decide if they will let me back in!! I have NEVER even been close to being kicked out of a bar!! I have yet to contact the WB Hockey Association as these people made false reports about them of what was said by me. I also have yet to contact the owner. I'm just not sure if I care enough to ever go back anyway. They are slanderers! Watch out! read more

I've been going to white bear bar for years now. They have pool tables, a nice patio, darts, tons of tvs, and even shuffleboard. They remodeled over the pandemic and it's always clean and welcoming. The drinks are great and they have good deals during happy hour and different specials daily. everyone always loves to end their night at white bear bar! The staff are always really friendly and quick to refresh your drinks. One of the best things about this bar is that it's so welcoming to everyone. I'm a gay man and have always felt welcome and comfortable because of the staff and patrons alike. The people that frequent white bear bar are tolerant of all kinds of people and over the years anytime there has been someone who makes hateful comments based on sex or race or sexuality, the staff always handles it quickly and respectfully and makes sure the person is removed. It's nice to know that we have such a great place in our community. read more

Well... it's a dive bar. But a good one. Drinks. Cheap and strong. The bartenders sometimes don't pay enough attention when taking a drink order and end up making it wrong, but are more than happy to re-make it. Important note: this place is cash only. One other patron, during our visit, was visibly annoyed that they don't accept Visa. Ok, slow your roll. I get it that it is an inconvenience in 2017 (almost 2018), but the deeper we get into the tech era, the more of a flashback to a nostalic time it becomes. There is an ATM if you don't have cash. It's ok, life will go on. One tip: they have a table top shuffle board that is fun. Be careful... some A-hold broke a glass in it and there are tiny shards in the sand. This place is as good as it gets...for a local dive bar. And when I say dive, i mean that in the most literal sense. Bar streamers and tacky liquor and beer ads pepper the 70's inspired wood paneled interior of this dimly lit neon watering hole. The regulars are characters that have to been seen in person to be believed and the bartenders are not only friendly but easy on the eyes as well. It's a great atmosphere to have a few drinks or get really tossed, either way it's a good time. One major complaint is the men's bathroom. Imagine a cat litter box that's used by 2 adult cats and hasn't been cleaned out in over a month. That's the White Bear Bar men's room 100% accurately described. I have never experienced a smell so foul and pungent as that. It's really takes your breath away every time you go in there and like the regulars, must be experienced to believe. If you can handle the smell of the bathroom you're bound to have a good time. All in all, if you lower your expectations, White Bear Bar is a great place. As long as you are respectful they will be great. It is a cash bar and they do have an ATM, but I bring my own so I don't get charged a fee. They have several televisions, shuffle board, buckets of beer, and some other games that make the bar fun. They have outside seating when it's nice out. I have been a regular at WBB since I turned 21, and my family long before that. The staff has always been outstanding and they continue to find great employees to keep up the WBB legacy. The Owner is always hosting events/activities (golf tournaments, trivia, bingo days, ice fishing tournaments, etc.) to patronize his customers and the events never disappoint and always make everyone feel welcome. There are great drink specials all the time, from bucket specials to double up for a buck. All the bartenders are super outgoing and great at what they do they always have smiles on their faces and are truly happy to be at work. The Manager Angie is always working to make sure the bar is a great place for everyone that comes in and makes sure that anyone that comes to the bar is going to have a great time (which is also a skill she has taught to all of her bartenders). If you need a fun place to go and kick back and have a few, maybe play some pool or pull tabs in Downtown White Bear Lake, this is the place to do it. read more
