Short Blonde bartender (sometimes wears pigtails) is extremely rube EVERY time I come in to this bar. I make sure to be very nice because I know how her attitude is and also make sure to Tip accordingly. The LAST time I went in I simply asked for a drink I didn't know the name of, I tried to explain it the best I could. She treated me like I was so stupid and acted like no one else has ever asked for a drink they don't know the name of... Haven't really experienced other problems with the rest of the staff, but she definitely needs to check her self, get a reality check or even better get a new job! read more

Great place to stop for a drink and play pool. They have 3 coin operated diamond pool tables. Service is great at the bar. Cash only and only option for food is popcorn and frozen pizza, but they don't mind if you run next door for Youngs or sandwiches from Cup and Cone. Great place to meet up with a group. Crowd is generally very welcoming. read more

It's what you expect, a dive bar. It does have pool tables, darts & pull tabs which are nice. They also have a small patio in the back. Drinks were well priced. My only issue would be it's an only cash bar, and the staff can ignore you a lot and go to people who just walked up to the bar instead of you that has been waiting. Overall, it's a nice place to go to every once in awhile. read more

Very unique very comfortable casual place for a drink. Drinks were so cheap I had to double take and when someone put on the theme song to cheers everyone was singing it together. By the end of the song everyone was friends, it was a very unique experience in todays sea of corporate bars and restaurants. read more

It's a bar. It's a great bar. It's the white bear version of Cheers. Everybody knows your name. Or at least that's what it feels like. Happy hour buy 1 get a second for 1$. Hard to beat that. Pull tabs and meat raffle to support WBL school. I'm not a smoker but they have an outside patio to accommodate. Fun shooting pool and just hanging out. Always have a nice time read more

This is a great "town" bar! You can play darts, or pool and pull tabs. It's a fun place to unwind. Awesome Happy Hours: 3-6 and 11-Midnight! Inside is nice and bright with beer signs and ample parking in the back. It is bigger inside than it looks outside. We were here for the drinks and popcorn. They have daily specials I will check out next time. Staff is very friendly and helpful too. read more

Hands down my favorite place to enjoy a beverage with friends and family. Love all the ladies that serve and bartend at the White Bear Bar. Bartending is a hard job because it's basically adult babysitting mixed with a little alcohol, plus it does get super busy at times. I've had the honor to get to know many of the staff members here, Majority of them work full time jobs or go to school full time so I give them props for what they do. The regulars are great too! Thank you ladies for outstanding service always. read more

We went to this "sports bar" to watch football. They had one game on every TV, not the game I was looking for. Didn't even stay long enough to order a drink. They shouldn't be listed as a sports bar. read more

I do not recommend this place to anyone. Blonde bartender was extremely rude and verbally attacked me. She wouldn't serve me after I got a ride to the hotel and back to get my id. She accepted a fake id but would not accept my passport. That girl is in need of therapy and a fake id training course. read more

Fun dive bar and it has bar bingo. It does not have a kitchen so the option for food is pizza.

Great dive bar with a roster of regulars. Happy hour includes 2 for the price of 1 plus $1. Fun fact: last year three armed robbers tried to hold the place up at 2am after Thanksgiving not realizing how fiercely the locals would protect their watering hole. The newspapers thus reported the robbers being overrun by the masses and fleeing the premises only to be picked up by local pd. read more

I have been a regular at the White Bear bar since the beginning of November when I first moved to White Bear Lake. I have always treated the bartenders well and have always tipped them very well. The bartenders are mostly all young women and there are no men that work as bartenders at this bar. MOST of the bartenders will always wait on men first even if you were there before them. Especially if you are a decent looking woman! If the bartenders don't like you; they will be very rude to you and find a reason to kick you out. I was accused of "hate crimes" and saying "multiple" slurs and then made to leave the bar. Anyone who knows me knows that I am not a racist. I am a Registered Nurse who has always worked with a very diverse population. The bartender and the manager lied and said "many" people from the White Bear Hockey Association accused me of saying these racial slurs and making everyone uncomfortable. The next day I received a Facebook Messenger message from Angie E. (Manager) stating that I am kicked out for at least one year and will have to talk with management to let them decide if they will let me back in!! I have NEVER even been close to being kicked out of a bar!! I have yet to contact the WB Hockey Association as these people made false reports about them of what was said by me. I also have yet to contact the owner. I'm just not sure if I care enough to ever go back anyway. They are slanderers! Watch out! read more

Well... it's a dive bar. But a good one. Drinks. Cheap and strong. The bartenders sometimes don't pay enough attention when taking a drink order and end up making it wrong, but are more than happy to re-make it. Important note: this place is cash only. One other patron, during our visit, was visibly annoyed that they don't accept Visa. Ok, slow your roll. I get it that it is an inconvenience in 2017 (almost 2018), but the deeper we get into the tech era, the more of a flashback to a nostalic time it becomes. There is an ATM if you don't have cash. It's ok, life will go on. One tip: they have a table top shuffle board that is fun. Be careful... some A-hold broke a glass in it and there are tiny shards in the sand. Careful when sticking your hand in there to grab some more sand for the shuffleboard deck. Ouchie. read more

I've been going to white bear bar for years now. They have pool tables, a nice patio, darts, tons of tvs, and even shuffleboard. They remodeled over the pandemic and it's always clean and welcoming. The drinks are great and they have good deals during happy hour and different specials daily. everyone always loves to end their night at white bear bar! The staff are always really friendly and quick to refresh your drinks. One of the best things about this bar is that it's so welcoming to everyone. I'm a gay man and have always felt welcome and comfortable because of the staff and patrons alike. The people that frequent white bear bar are tolerant of all kinds of people and over the years anytime there has been someone who makes hateful comments based on sex or race or sexuality, the staff always handles it quickly and respectfully and makes sure the person is removed. It's nice to know that we have such a great place in our community. read more

Great watering hole. Best bartender and servers around! This place can get very busy on the weekends and it amazes me on how fast, friendly, and efficient both bartenders and servers are. Also the security/bouncers are a class act! They all work so hard and unfortunately have to deal with rude people sometimes! Definitely worthy of a visit! read more

The staff is outstanding! You will want to keep coming back after meeting the incredible people who make this bar successful. They get very busy at times, but the bartenders and servers (and Security) are sure to deliver the best service. You won't find a better bunch of ladies and gents! And Angie is the sweetest manager! read more

When you say local dive bar this place instantly jumps to mind. Cheap drinks, pull tabs, meat raffles, and service with a smile. What isn't to love about White Bear Bar? Please note that the bar is cash only, so come prepared. That said $20 will get you far here. White Bear Bar has become a staple for us when we head out on the town. We can get loud and boisterous without anyone caring. Our friends can ask for ridiculous drinks with no judgments (the four horsemen have reared their ugly head here many times). If you want to just have a relaxed time with friends you get that here. If you want fancy cocktails or craft beer, well try somewhere else. White Bear Bar is a place for friends to let their hair down and just have a good time. 72/100 read more

Staff was amazing...especially Angie and Taylor! Strong drinks, pull tabs, pool, darts, bingo, trivia...they have it all. Crowd is mostly Norms & Cliffs (i.e. locals/regulars) but they make you feel welcomed. read more

This place is as good as it gets...for a local dive bar. And when I say dive, i mean that in the most literal sense. Bar streamers and tacky liquor and beer ads pepper the 70's inspired wood paneled interior of this dimly lit neon watering hole. The regulars are characters that have to been seen in person to be believed and the bartenders are not only friendly but easy on the eyes as well. It's a great atmosphere to have a few drinks or get really tossed, either way it's a good time. One major complaint is the men's bathroom. Imagine a cat litter box that's used by 2 adult cats and hasn't been cleaned out in over a month. That's the White Bear Bar men's room 100% accurately described. I have never experienced a smell so foul and pungent as that. It's really takes your breath away every time you go in there and like the regulars, must be experienced to believe. If you can handle the smell of the bathroom you're bound to have a good time. All in all, if you lower your expectations, White Bear Bar is a great place. Also you can pour Kinky shots down a fat chick's buttcrack. read more

This is a great little dive bar to get some cheap drinks and talk with the locals. We learned of some good spots to go from the locals! Wish we would have known about them earlier! They also have pulltabs galore if you're feeling lucky and an outdoor seating area. read more

White Bear Bar - Outdoor patio - Sports Bars Near Me - White Bear Lake, Minnesota

Once a year for the last 8 years my brother and I come to white bear bar, get a pitcher of beer and play a rousing game of pool, which we both suck at. So that means I have been here 8 times, and every time it's exactly as I remembered it from the last time. This place gets five stars simply because some place are made to inspire good times. Is it the best and the brightest, no. Does it have the best and cheapest drinks, no. Will you be guaranteed a friendly Minnesotan welcome and a laugh or remembrance of a good time with a friend, yes! read more

Great little dive bar to go and have some drinks. Not too pricey and it's always been fun to meet up some of the regulars and enjoy a good crowd. The bartenders have always been so nice as well. As long as you are respectful they will be great. It is a cash bar and they do have an ATM, but I bring my own so I don't get charged a fee. They have several televisions, shuffle board, buckets of beer, and some other games that make the bar fun. They have outside seating when it's nice out. Many of the hockey parents will meet up there for some drinks during the season too. read more

It's a cheap dive bar, nothing flashy or exciting. Locals can get a bit rowdy if you're just going to get a drink. Pool tables in the back. Beer and cocktails are a bit pricey for the location, I think. Could be fun for people looking to get a bit crazy but it's just not really what I expected. I went with a group of friends to get drinks and play pool and shuffleboard. We had a decent time but left to some of the other bar locations in the area, and enjoyed them a bit more. read more

I have been a regular at WBB since I turned 21, and my family long before that. The staff has always been outstanding and they continue to find great employees to keep up the WBB legacy. The Owner is always hosting events/activities (golf tournaments, trivia, bingo days, ice fishing tournaments, etc.) to patronize his customers and the events never disappoint and always make everyone feel welcome. There are great drink specials all the time, from bucket specials to double up for a buck. All the bartenders are super outgoing and great at what they do they always have smiles on their faces and are truly happy to be at work. The Manager Angie is always working to make sure the bar is a great place for everyone that comes in and makes sure that anyone that comes to the bar is going to have a great time (which is also a skill she has taught to all of her bartenders). If you need a fun place to go and kick back and have a few, maybe play some pool or pull tabs in Downtown White Bear Lake, this is the place to do it. read more

Fun dive bar! Great staff, good drinks, and friendly patrons make this a go-to bar in White Bear Lake!

Great little bar. Been stopping in for a couple of cold ones a couple times a week for over 15 years. Always been great until the last several months. Two of the bartenders have been very moody and downright rude at times and I have always tipped and never caused trouble. No reason to be rude. TJ needs to know... read more

First and foremost its a dive. The place hasn't changed a lick in 35 years. Friendly regulars, ice cold beer, and a pull tab lady make this the perfect dive bar. Yes a dive can earn 5 stars from me. read more
