We had reservations at 6:00 on a Saturday. We grabbed a recently left table, but sat there with dirty dishes from the previous guests for 30 minutes. It took 20 minutes for the server to come to our table to take our drink order, and with her being at our table multiple times after 30 minutes, she left the previous customer's dirty dishes multiple times. TERRIBLE service. We ordered 1 round of drinks, which took in total almost an hour to order, get our drinks, bus the previous customer's dirty dishes, and get our tab, and left due to how horrible the service was. We started with dinner upstairs in the supper club. It was delicious! We especially loved the swordfish and our tiramisu. Took my family out to check out some speakeasy bars and we made it in time for this place. We walked down the steps and looked at one of the mailbox for the secret password. The owner is really nice, he gave is a tour and history. Then lead us to the bar towards the back. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is like 1920 era, secret bar behind a post office.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The kitchen was already closed, so we ordered cocktail. The bar tender gave us a sample of the different cognac she had on the shelf to see which one was good. We liked the one bottle on the left, however it was an expensive shot. read more

My mom has been here once a few years ago and wanted to take me. No one was tending to the door and we waited for 10 minutes until customers came out. We sat at a table next to the bar and service counter. We witnessed the employees rough house with each other amongst other very nonprofessional things. One bartender was trying to shove a large square ice cube into a smaller circular glass with bare hands touch the whole thing. One waitress put her mouth on a customers drink to try it before bringing it to her table. Very gross. The drinks were awful I could not drink mine at all. The food was good knowing it came from somewhere else. One waiter went on brake and sat at the table next to us while drinking a large cocktail we saw get made by a bartender. And the bill was $150 and totally not worth it at all. read more

Where to start? Service was poor (slow and rude). Had to ask for water. when it was delivered my first swallow included a wood chip. Thank goodness I noticed it was not ice. The steak bites were awful. Fatty and burnt Asked for wine that was on special. Was charged inappropriately. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Music was sooo loud we moved upstairs so we could have conversation.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will never return. What a shame. Shhhhh...it's a hidden speakeasy hidden practically across the street from the Anoka County Government Center! Actually it's downstairs in the old Anoka Post Office! First you find the entrance, then knock at the door. The gentleman guarding the door will help you find the "password" to get in. It's like going back to 1920's Prohibition Era! Awesome atmosphere, love the decor and theme. The two times we've been here the service has been unfortunately lackluster. We had the Jamaican Me Crazy and Smoke Over the City. Wasn't a big fan of the smoke over the city. Took about 15 minutes to be approached by waitress even though the place hardly had any patrons. We ordered the truffle fries but they came out room temperature, and soggy. Might give them another shot, but they need to step up the service! read more

Fully recommend this Bar/Restaurant. You start with such a great experience mimicking Speakeasies of the 1920's. Don't forget to find out the password before going. We sat at the bar, which is a cool LED bar with awesome bartenders/mixologists crafting a wide array of cocktails plus some off-the-menu items. The food is wonderful, but the menu is a bit limited. That said, we were very pleased. We started with the devil eggs -totally recommend these. I then had the mussels and my husband had the steak bites. Both were wonderful. read more

We used to come to Nuckys and have pretty solid experiences. Good drinks, good service, etc. Last night we went for a birthday celebration. It took our drinks 30 minutes to get to us, and half of them were wrong. One of our guests got a drink that tasted so wrong we had to send it back. The bartender was rude and offended when we asked to have it replaced. Only to find out they weren't a bartender AT ALL because apparently all of the bar staff had called out that night. Our waitress was hardly ever present, refused to make any sort of contact with us or check in. When we began getting frustrated over our experience, and after waiting a whole fucking HOUR to just get our check, one of our guests approached the manager where the waitress had the audacity to call us a "bad table" for sending a drink back. I refuse to spend any more money or another experience here again. It's a shame since it's truly a unique place. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE. read more

My husband and I came here for his birthday, and then we did dinner after. It is a fun bar in the basement of the old post office with the prohibition era vibe. You enter through a back door disguised as a post office. You need to know the secret code to get in! I found it on their Facebook page. One of the partners answered and showed us around and explained the history of Nucky to us. There is a full bar with lots of delicious drinks. All along the walls were pictures from that time period. It was fun. Dress was business casual but some guests were in flapper dresses, which makes it even more fun! If I lived closer I'd definitely go back more. I hosted my husband's 50th birthday in the back room of Nucky's and we had about 30 people attend. It was simply spectacular! Everyone raved about the place, the food and drinks, and the service. we loved this place the first time we came tonight we wanted 15 minutes for someone to come to the table so my husband went up to the bar - we were told the waitress would be there soon - 5 more minutes and we finally saw our waitress. No one else even said hi or well be right with you had an amazing dinner at club 300 and decided to go back down stairs to Nuckys after dinner. They we're 1/2 full at this time the waitress said she'd be right back went to the table next to us 3 times and never stopped back - after 20 minutes we just left Don't they still train wait staff to treat your whole section like one table ?? I want tothank Mr.Abler for saving me 100.00. After a very good meal my wife and I went downstairs to have an anniversary cocktail. Jim set us up at the bar and for the next 15 minutes ( a long time when you are anticipating a celebratory cocktail) we sat and did not get any eye contact from the bartenders.
