Met a friend for a drink on a weeknight. I started at the bar while I waited. They had a few cool cocktails and I asked many questions. The bartender knew her stuff. I ultimately got a paper plane. I moved and enjoyed the atmosphere and the big roomy booth. Service was great at the bar and the booth. Was glad I read reviews first so I knew how to find it :)

Our monthly happy hour hang out brought us to Volstead House this month to check out the snacks and sips! Plenty of parking available in the shared lot out front! Enter through the Burger spot and look for the Coca Cola machine! Once you enter Volstead House, you can't help but be transported into what feels like a Spirit Library. A huge accent wall lined from floor to ceiling with spirit bottles is the perfect back drop to this cozy hang out. Perfect for a date night, friend catch-up, or solo Whiskey adventure, Volstead House is a vibe! Pair the atmosphere with top notch, educated bartenders and mixologists...you know you'll be taken care of! We started with the A La Louisiane, a spirit-forward, whiskey cocktail with some funk from Peychauds and Absinthe. It was delicious and well balanced. We also shared the Glazed Carrots and the Parm Fries. The carrots didn't hit for me, as the glaze and sauce lacked a punch of flavor but the fries were crispy and delicious. If you have a spirit enthusiast or someone that likes to explore the world of cocktails, I think this is the perfect vibe!

If you're looking for a great after-work spot with an elevated vibe, Volstead's House is definitely one to add to your list. The atmosphere always gives grown--dim lighting, moody energy, and the perfect setting to unwind after a long day. It fills up quickly, which says a lot about the kind of experience they offer. We tried the A La Louisiane, and it was smooth, balanced, and perfectly crafted--definitely a standout if you enjoy a well-made cocktail. For bites, the glazed carrots with orange, ginger & scallion were flavorful with a nice mix of sweet and fresh. And the house cut parm fries? Crispy, seasoned just right, and easy to keep reaching for. What really made the experience was the service. The staff was amazing, and Erica stood out in the best way--attentive, welcoming, and made sure everything flowed effortlessly. Overall, it's a solid go-to for a grown after-work vibe with good drinks, good food, and even better service.

Step through the doors of Volstead House - and you're instantly pulled into a moody, vintage-inspired space that feels straight out of the Prohibition era. Low lighting, leather booths, and a wall of whiskey set the tone for a laid-back, grown-up night out. The whiskey list is deep and curated, with options ranging from rare finds to approachable pours for those just getting into the spirit. The bartenders are passionate and knowledgeable--ready to mix up a classic cocktail or guide you to something new based on your taste. I had the "PEARANOID SCHITZO" I would highly suggest ordering this drink and others! While the bar steals the spotlight, the food holds its own. I ordered the French fries, and they were memorable--crispy, golden, and perfectly seasoned. Sometimes the simplest items say the most about a kitchen, and these fries were done right. Ideal for snacking with a cocktail or sharing at the table. Whether you're out for a quiet drink or making a night of it with friends, Volstead House offers a polished, inviting atmosphere without feeling pretentious. It's a true suburban speakeasy, and a refreshing alternative to the typical bar scene.

Speakeasies are a new concept to me so I had to look it up! A speakeasy is a hidden establishment that illegally sells alcoholic beverages, during the Prohibition era in the US around the '20's and early '30's. It was a popular as a way to circumvent the ban on alcohol sales during that time. Today, the term can also refer to modern bars that emulate the atmosphere and secrecy of the original speakeasies. It was quite cool to walk through a "hidden" doorway to find this upscale bar with a posh vibe. The server was super friendly and very personable. We were celebrating our friend's birthday and our server brought us two different types of cakes! They were absolutely delicious. She was so sweet to do that for us! The cocktails were AMAZING! This was such a fun experience and we would definitely come again!

Always a great time at Volstead. I love to be able to get a cocktail, just the way I like it. Bartenders are great, skillful and friendly and the ambiance is intimate without going over the top.

Heard about this cute speakeasy from Instagram and was not disappointed! Definitely would plan to make reservations next time as we had to wait around 40 minutes for a table for 2 on a Saturday at 5 pm. It is a tiny place with not much seating so plan ahead if you are in a big. The speakeasy is behind a fake sofa machine door. Gorgeous inside with floor to ceiling rows of whiskey bottles. Their drink menu was vast but their food menu was pretty small. The burger and salad were excellent! My drink was just OK, for a specialty drink. I thought it would have more flavor. He also got a whiskey flight, which was fun. If you choose three whiskeys from the list, you get five dollars off your flight! Will be back!

I can't believe I have never been here before, but I loved it and will return. Volstead is a speakeasy cocktail bar in the back of a sports bar. The vibe is clear as soon as you step in the door. Counter to ceiling bottles of liquor. Cozy atmosphere, with a keyboard artist playing music in the corner. There weren't many tables open so we sat at the bar. I would highly recommend doing that. It was fascinating watching the bartender whip up a variety of different drinks. We enjoyed both of our cocktails. We had eaten next-door, so did not try the food. I cannot wait to go back.

We originally were going to Burgers & Bottles but when we entered we were asked by the host if we were coming to try Burgers & Bottles or Volstead and we ended up choosing Volstead, although we were a bit confused on where it might be located as we could not see another restaurant area when we first entered. So we were shocked when the host lead us through a hidden door into Volstead! What a great surprise as it opened up and was a very hip space. We came during happy hour so we chose to stick with that menu. We got dill pickle wings, Cajun wings, two orders of tacos, and the nachos. They were all really good and a good portion. We shared these amongst three of us. It was a super good deal and I would like to try this place out again in the summer when they have their big patio doors open.

The interior is modern and inviting, with some fun wallpaper making a statement. We cozied up to the bar during this visit. I will say that bar was a bit sloppy during our visit...bartenders' water bottles cluttering the visible space, bartenders spilling our drinks a bit during delivery, and weird transitions of staff that were a bit distracting. The Espresso Martini was the best item I ordered! Well balanced and the addition of the cold foam really made for an enjoyable sip. Would absolutely return for that one! The bites we ordered had great flavor, but some fell a bit flat when trying to live up to their creative ideas. The Fried Pickles were the best food item: perfectly crispy medallions with two delicious dipping sauces. The "burnt ends" cauliflower are really just roasted cauliflower with BBQ sauce on top, missing out on the umami juiciness of their namesake. The Chips that came with the Dip were just ruffled potato chips, not housemade or interesting. Solid spot for happy hour if you're looking in the area!

Very reasonable for the quality and vibe. We ordered the cauliflower burnt ends, fried pickles, and chips & dip. Everything came out flavorful and fresh. The cauliflower especially was a standout -- seasoned well with that perfect texture. The staff was helpful and very informative, which I always appreciate when trying a spot for the first time. The atmosphere gives after-work energy -- a place where you can unwind with coworkers or commune with family and friends. And the background tunes were on point. Happy Hour is getting a 4.5/5 from me. I'll definitely be back to keep this series going.

They also have other amenities, but so far I've only been here to pickle some balls. Reserving a court without a membership is possible, but it can be tricky because members get first dibs; they can reserve courts further in advance. And that membership is STEEP. As of November 2025 it is $139/month or $1295/year. And if you're playing with non-members, they still have to pay a share for a reservation! That's too rich for my blood, but apparently I'm in the minority because currently there is a waitlist of over 100 to even sign up for a membership. But the normal hourly court rates are reasonably priced; I've seen and used more expensive places. But that expensive membership also grants access to the "Wellness" areas, which include sauna and cold plunge facilities as well as regular gym equipment. There is a much more reasonable membership that allows access to that stuff, but none of the pickleball. I haven't tried that, nor have I tried anything from the very cute cafe (It's only open Wed-Sun, and I keep missing it). I may need to update this to report on their food & drink offerings. There is plenty of comfortable seating in the cafe, and actually throughout the building there are tons of really attractive and cozy places to sit and pass the time. There is also a party room that you can book. My friends and I have really had a great time playing pickleball here and we will return with some regularity.

I entered through the west side of the building that noted Lucky's, fear not, when I entered and told the host I was looking for the Mudd Room she gave me precise directions to get downstairs! Once downstairs I came upon the nice single toilet ladies room. I proceeded in to the bar, asked the blonde bartender where the music would be? She pointed to the stage @ the end of the bar and said it could be loud right by the speaker so she'd recommend sitting a few tables away. She said the parties near the stage were tabbing out if I wanted to sit there? I said I would take a seat @ the end until they were through. Shortly after I sat down the very friendly brunette server brought me a glass of ice water... thanks! She remained attentive all night, filling my water three times. Despite not looking over the menu she was very thoughtful when she popped by just to say it was last call for the kitchen, did I want anything? I meant to get the gals names, I did not, sorry. Music wasn't too loud; the acoustics and lighting were great since the speakeasy is already dimly lit. I don't anticipate this was my last visit; very much looking forward to catching another gig here or meeting friends for drinks! The friendly and attentive service are my number one fast and hard rule for a venue... no matter how good or bad the drinks or food are.... they 90% determine if I will return.
