We visited for dinner on Labor Day and didn't have a reservation, but thankfully we were seated right away! I really loved the coastal inspired decor throughout the restaurant. It has a beautiful, dimly lit atmosphere that feels intimate without being too dark, and the music adds to the experience while still allowing you to comfortably have a conversation. Our service was amazing, thanks to Tommy! He was attentive, friendly, and really helped make our dinner enjoyable. We started with the truffle fries, which were nice and crispy and a great way to start the meal. I absolutely loved the Pink Lady cocktail, and the pan seared scallops were probably my favorite dish of the night. They were so buttery and flavorful, and I also really enjoyed the kale that came with them. The cowboy mac and cheese was another standout, so good! The baked potato was probably my least favorite. I felt like it could have been a little fluffier. The roasted vegetables were just okay, but my husband really enjoyed his roasted chicken. Another big plus was the convenient, free, and spacious parking lot, which made the whole experience even easier. Loved it so much we went twice during our recent visit to the MPLS area. I was first in search of a great french dip and a reddit thread led me to the Cov. Was it expensive? Yes. Was it worth it? Worth every penny. Absolutely delicious and possibly the best French dip I've eaten. Next, I saw they had cioppino on the menu so we returned two days later. Wow - it was memorably great! I tried our Cov for their happy hour and had high expectations that weren't met! Their menu prices were great and I really enjoyed both of my cocktails. I was a bit disappointed in the cali roll - I bit into a piece of hard crab shell which put me off from the rest of the roll. I liked the cauliflower a lot but was surprised at how few pieces there were. It wasn't overly battered and had really good flavor and are worth trying out. The fries were solid and something I'd order again! I'd definitely give this another shot. Great location, and usually takes 15-30 minutes to walk in, it's always busy. I like that the happy hour on weekends is 10am-4pm, the best thing is the guacamole on that menu. The food is okay, I wouldn't go out of my way for it. read more

Cov Edina has potential to be a Galleria institution, but needs A LOT of fine tuning. Highlights of the experience: great patio, Laurent Perrier by the glass, good reserve wine list, and that's about it. Service was slow, uninformed, and lacking professionalism. Plenty of parking because its within the galleria. No problems with the bathroom and the service was solid. A shame they reduced their happy hour window and also removed some items (e.g., honey smoked salmon). This place is quite busy and for some reason we still had to wait a bit even after having a reservation. Rolls are nothing spectacular but the buffalo shrimp was disappointing: $3 each and it's mostly just the breading. You certainly cough up some $ for the galleria ambiance. It's been many years since I've been to Cov, which I had such fond memories of but today missed the mark when I visited for dinner while on a work trip. The ambiance is still nice with low lighting and a bustling dining room (hard to comment otherwise as it was dark). The service was so-so. I like to give places the benefit of the doubt if service is slow but it wasn't just the speed, it was the attention to detail such as needing to ask for a drink menu then when presented with the menu, it was wet with soap bubbles on it. The food was a mixed bag; my ceaser salad with a side of chicken was underwhelming....for $27 I'd expect a better presentation. My friend got the ribeye which was very fatty and was as if they didn't season it at all. Other friend got the mussels which were delicious as were the truffle fries. This restaurant has a way of making you feel like you are someplace really special. The atmosphere is beautiful, and I especially love their outdoor patio dining. Last week was the first time I've been there after work, and I was so happy my friend and I were able to try a few things from their happy hour menu. The, pineapple martini was strong and amazing. My favorite dish was the buffalo shrimp, which was four large shrimp cooked perfectly with a very light breading that popped in your mouth. I was especially happy that the buffalo sauce was on the side so she could have the sauce and I could have without. The truffle fries are a huge portion with lots of truffle oil and Parmesan. Came here over the 4th weekend for happy hour on Saturday. I've been here plenty of times but this time the food very disappointing. The calamari was the only thing that was good. The new drink 'island has spoken' tasted like straight up sun bum sunscreen. We got the Korean bbq wings and they were slimy- pretty hard to get down, the truffle fries were wet and soggy, and the mussels were just off. I typically love mussels. Just disappointing overall. Their patio has a gimmicky beach theme with a great views of a concrete ocean full of cars driving next to you. I was feeling a salad and wanted something a little fancier than fast casual. Unfortunately Cov did not deliver and wish I would have gone to any of the actual salad restaurants nearby. The Caesar salad was a soggy plate of refrigerator burned baby greens with a couple pickled anchovies. I've never had a pickled anchovy and I don't think I want one again. Drinks were very tasty - a non-alcoholic mule and some sort of tequila special that was both sweet and salty. We ordered lobster avocado toast and two fairly normal breakfast. The bad: prices. I realize it's galleria rent, large staff, inflation, beautifully decorated restaurant, etc. However $21 for the 6 bites of hot dogs in puff pastry app was actually humorous. Cov, you should take this off the menu, it is not a good look. If you severed 2 full sausages with the mustard and the fried onions that would have been fine. This dish looks like something a middle schooler made, and the value is terrible. Not so great: Overall Menu is pretty simple, safe, and nothing interesting. Can't tell what they are know for. Everything from Sushi rolls to burgers and pasta. Wife's fish was drowning in butter. Her sautéed spinach had garlic that wasn't cooked enough so it overpowered everything. They charged $3 to split the pasta dish our kids had. $42 pasta dish... I didn't like any of the side dished to go with my steak, so she said they could do Brussel sprouts like in the appetizer option. I didn't realize she was just going to add the $18 Brussels app. It was loaded in a sauce and bacon which some people might like, but it made it super unhealthy for just wanting a green side with a steak. What we got: Dungeness crab dip- I would recommend if you want something shareable for 3-4 ppl but if it's just you and a friend I would try the crab cakes. This spot is a favorite happy hour and dinner spot for my girlfriends and me. The Port Tack Old Fashioned is my most favorite adult beverage (so much that I've tried to recreate it at home). It's a unique twist on a Midwest classic. No matter where you sit in the restaurant, you can visit with friends, family, or a colleague over a wonderful meal. The bartenders and waitstaff are extremely thorough and smartly appointed. I really can't recommend Cov based in this first time visit. While the ambiance is impressive and matches the high end vibe of the establishment, the food was disappointing. I've had much better (and far more reasonably priced) calamari at lower end restaurants. Ours arrived basically lukewarm/barely lukewarm which absolutely did not help the taste factor. I was eating overly priced, overly greasy, limp calamari - I wanted to send this back to the kitchen but it was Friday night and the place was packed. I didn't want to come across as difficult. The lukewarm theme continued with my roasted root salad. I was so dismayed to see my main entree arrive in a similar temperature state as the appetizer. This was so unappealing and again, certainly not worth the price tag if my food arrives at the table feeling like it's been sitting under a heat lamp way too long that it's lost the freshness factor. My friend ordered a seafood pasta of sorts and it looked amazing but beyond that, I don't know if it arrived temperature hot. I didn't ask her - I was too under impressed by this point that it was like "whatever, I don't see myself coming back unless it's happy hour." The restaurant has a vibrant interior, and it sure seems popular with the locals, but as a tourist I do think those locals should know this place is overpriced. There's no way getting around it. Yelp should also list CoV $$$ easy. Our waiter didn't engage much beyond taking the order - the support staff was much more helpful and friendly. I had the pan-seared walleye and while the presentation was impressive (and they allowed me to change the side) it was so covered with other toppings that I couldn't taste much of the walleye (whatever the flavor might be). Members of my party were drinking like true Midwesterners, and the staff was quick to bring them out. Always a great experience. We went for lunch on my birthday and I was impressed by the service and food. The restaurant itself has a light and airy feel, comfortable but a step above casual. I had a great rum punch that they had just added to the menu, I was tempted to order another! I can't remember the name of it! If you like fruity rum drinks ask about it when you go! We started off with oysters and they did not disappoint us, yum. I really love scallops but I was hesitant to order the scallop entree because it had "jerk" seasoning, our waiter was so kind and brought me a sample of the seasoning, it was good and not too spicy! I ordered the scallop entree and LOVED it! My husband ordered Chilean sea bass and we both tried it, top notch as well!
