Came here for brunch and loved it. It's tucked into the bottom of an apartment building, so it's a bit unexpected, but once you're inside it has such a luxe, chic vibe. The space feels elevated and really well designed. Parking is a little limited in the lot, but there are additional options across the street which helps. Our server Baye took amazing care of us and gave great recommendations. Service overall was really strong and made the experience even better. The menu is impressive with a wide variety of flavorful options, and I really appreciated that they clearly label gluten free items. Such a great touch. They have classic brunch options but also some great savory, sweet, and worldly flavored options.

The butter chicken tacos were a huge highlight for me! Everything I have ordered has been delicious though! Love the vibe too!

Stopped here for HH/Dinner before a movie w/ a friend. The parking was a bit packed but we were able to find spots in the lot. Wasn't too busy when we arrived but by time we left it was packed. The food is asian fusion, very unique dishes and flavor profiles. I went with Wings and Fries, my friend got wings (a different flavor) and chips and salsa. I honestly didn't care for the wings. the texture of the batter/skin was off putting for me (looks like it would be crispy but pretty soggy). They had a lot of flavor though spice wise. The staff were pretty attentive. They kind of all worked together to do whatever needed to be done to help. Super nice ambiance! They even have a photography policy but you can't see it unless you use the restroom. The bathrooms were even a vibe- cute decor, birds chirping (lofi sounds), and warm hand towels. To the right of the bar is a super cute dining room filled with plants. The seating and all is just impressive here.

We stopped by The Starling for an evening date and were pleasantly surprised -- this place strikes a great balance between casual comfort and elevated eats. The ambiance is bright and inviting with a modern but cozy vibe that makes it easy to linger whether you're here for lunch, dinner, or drinks. The service was friendly and attentive without being pushy. Our server greeted us right away, offered thoughtful recommendations, and checked in at just the right moments -- it felt genuine and relaxed. Now, the food was Asian fusion I really liked the wings with fish sauce were lovely and I was pleasantly surprised. The two curry dishes we had especially the walleye with green curry was just ok, and kind of bland. The deserts such as the Vietnamese coffee cake and the ube desert were amazing as well as some very good drinks. I would come back for drinks wings and desert. Overall, The Starling delivers a fun experience. A couple small hiccups (the food for the price is just ok, not anything that will blow you away), but plenty of positives to outweigh it. Perfect for a casual night out or a family dinner.

My wife and I dropped into the Starling as a whim for a weeknight respite. Located in an upscale apartment house next to the freeway, the Starlings' offbeat location was perplexing. However, the Starling reminded me of the Waterbury Restaurant located in the Waterbury upscale apartment house overlooking Bde Maka Ska. So, what do I know? The space is lovely, with a touch of class. Drinks were poured well, and the staff was upbeat and fun. The menu was eclectic, with many offerings that had an Asian touch. Sadly, I didn't enjoy my pork buns; the pork belly tasted too fatty. Yet, my fries were excellent. For us, the Starling is in a location we don't frequent, but if it were nearby, I would stop in again to try their other menu offerings. Our drinks were good.

We ordered half of the menu cuz we're a bunch of fatty hehe

This was my first time at Starling back in April for my birthday. My friend took me out and I decided I wanted to try the Ube Leche cake. I heard it was amazing and yes it was incredibly delicious. We also shared two other dishes.

Visited 2/19/25. Starling was a cute place! Attached to an apartment building so a bit less area for parking-factor that in when giving yourself time to get there. By far my favorite thing about it was the staff. Everyone who we came into contact with was amazing, friendly and super helpful throughout the night. From jumping between bartending to serving to food running, we were all very impressed with all of the staff working. Cocktail choices were really fun and we all universally LOVED the tiki twist most of all. I got the Bangkok mojito which was okay in terms of flavor but the tiki twist was delightful. To start our party ordered the pork buns and the green beans. The beans were packed with flavor and I would definitely recommend them. The pork buns were good but the price point (about $7 per bun) felt pretty high for the most part. I felt somewhat similar about the butter chicken tacos which came out later. Liked the Balinese fried rice the most out of our shared entrees; great flavor overall. The chicken yakisoba was pretty good and definitely had me reaching for more throughout. Overall my favorite part of the experience was all of the wonderful staff here!

The vibe is amazing -- stylish but still super welcoming. We started with the steamed pork buns, which were some of the best I've ever had: soft and savory. For our mains, we had the Balinese fried rice and mushroom yakisoba -- both dishes were full with fresh ingredients and bold, unique flavors. l I tried the Purple Starling and Blushing Kiwi cocktails. Both were so delicious, with a perfect flavors. It was our first time here, but definitely not our last!

I came here for a date night before a comedy show and YUM! Having been my first time visiting, I didn't want to risk not being able to get in so I made a reservation for 5:30 pm. The restaurant was relatively empty but by the time we left, traffic was picking up. We ordered the Balinese fried rice and the chicken yakisoba. Both were delicious! Flavorful sauces and the chicken thighs had a delicious curry flavor that we were pleasantly surprised by. Overall, the service was great, the atmosphere was romantic and trendy, and we look forward to visiting again!

I had never heard of this place, was in the area and decided to try it out. Have their own parking lot, so easy parking. Beautiful restaurant on the inside, I really liked the seating options. Can't really explain what I mean, but you'd know if you saw it lol. Got seated and served immediately. The menu was full of interesting flavors and my waiter did his best to help me with recommendations. Tried a few items, everything came out fast and very tasty. They had a few flavors of the wings, I got the dry rub and decided to get the sauce in the side because I couldn't decide. I will say the wings are much better with the sauce, and now that I've tried them both, I will get them cooked in it. Overall great experience and would definitely go back to try other items.

We came here for a double date night with our friends. The space is gorgeous with big tall plants all around - almost felt like we were on a vacation! -The espresso martini was our favorite out of all the cocktails we tried. -We split the wings and fries as an appetizer. Loved the dry rub, so crispy! The fry sauce was delicious as well. -The burger honestly competes with the best of them. My husband claims he thinks it's better than Parlour's burger and I agree! -Chicken yakisoba was my favorite entree. So much flavor! It's huge and filling and easy to share. -Poke bowl was super fresh and perfect if you want a lighter feeling entree that still fills the belly. Anything with jasmine rice and yum yum sauce is worth trying. Parking is difficult but there's valet :)

This place is very stylist and has a great feel! Overall I would honestly say that I don't know if I would go back anytime soon. The things that were nice, the staff seemed understanding when we had people running late (wasn't busy). The food was good but nothing special, I went for brunch so not sure if the dinner menu is better. The coffee was very good and was impressed with that! For the things that missed the mark, the Bloody Mary costs $15 that comes from a store bought mix that it tasted like and only had a lime and one olive on it. They were out 4 different items on the menu from potatoes to a liquor for a drink. Lastly parking isn't great and half the people in the group were late because they couldn't find any parking. You could also hear the staff talking about the guests and felt like that wasn't very appropriate for a place that's suppose to feel upscale I felt like it was missed other than the deign of the place.

    Pancakes and Breakfast Tacos
    Crystal D.

I really wanted to love Starling because the ambiance is exactly what I look for but unfortunately they did not hit the mark. The pancakes tasted burnt and were dry, served with very little syrup. The best part of the breakfast tacos was the crema and salsa verde giving them a great flavor but the tacos were served cold. There is parking in front of the restaurant but it is very limited, especially when there is fresh snow, parking gets very tight.

We made a reservation on both occasions but didn't have to make it too much in advance so it's always worth checking on. Service is always spectacular with a huge attention to detail and really customized spiels about the menu. The things I've recently tried for drinks have included the spritz del ambratta, the fiore, and a sparkling red from their wine selection. I find myself going back to the Fiore and would recommend that most although their wine is a solid selection as well. In my opinion, the best starter combination is the focaccia plus the lemony beans. The focaccia is solid and it's so good to dip in the mixture that the beans are doused in. The Caesar was decent as well but you can't miss with that other combo. Then, of course, the mains. If you love creamy pasta, do yourself a favor and get the cavatelli. One of my favorite dishes I've had there; I kept almost comparing it to an adult Mac and cheese. Great for sharing if creamy pastas are a bit too rich for your liking. The lasagna is always a close second and you can't go wrong with it. My friend adored the pickle pizza and I thought it was solid too although I would still probably get the cavatelli or lasagna if you are between that and the pizza. Another great shareable. The saffron spaghetti was decent with some really good bite from the noodles and the taste of saffron really coming through, but I would probably get those other dishes before I would order that. On the first occasion, I was there we were celebrating two of my friends' 30th birthdays and H&S did such a good job of celebrating and making them feel special plus they brought out French silk pie cannolis for us plus glasses of sparkling wine, so I would highly recommend this place as a celebratory dinner. We ordered the Candied Bacon flight to share; the menu listed the bacon flight flavors (whiskey jalapeño BBQ, roasted chile brown sugar, honey mustard, 4-pepper blend) and the 8 large, thick slices looked inviting but we had no idea which pieces were which flavor. *Management Suggestion: Get little toothpicks or flags so diners know what they're tasting!* That said, while I tried two pieces I thought looked good and I enjoyed them, RC munched through them unaware they were different flavors, lol. My take: they were ok. I also ordered the French Onion soup as I love trying different restaurants' take on it. Five stars for the soup, it was absolutely delicious. A thick piece of crusty bread topped with melted cheese that dripped over the crock topped rich, delicious caramelized onions and just enough beef stock to be able to call it soup. Banging. For our mains, RC ordered ribs with a side of Buffalo Brussels Sprouts. The ribs had good flavor but were definitely not fall-off-the-bone; more like saw from the bone. We both love Brussels but the beef-tallow fried sprouts with Buffalo sauce and caked in melted bleu cheese crumbles were not good. If you don't like Brussels, you might like these because any sprout flavor was overwhelmed by the bleu cheese. For my main I tried the braised Short Rib Ravioli, generous ravioli in a very rich cream sauce then topped with (I think) bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes. I ate one raviolo and it wasn't for me. I thought the filling was bland and the sauce didn't meld with the flavor. I didn't eat it, the manager came to apologize and ask if I wanted something else, but RC was close to finished and I declined. Good on them for taking it off my bill without me asking. Service was five star, atmosphere nice, although the huge flat screens everywhere were a distraction lacking sound or captions. The bourbon selection looked great and I momentarily wished I could try some! :D
