    Empty plate. Left no crumbs!
    Christine M.

As usual, this Hope lived up to all of the others we've tried as well! With the added bonus of being in an old firehouse! If you love the history of old buildings and amazing brunch and boozy coffee, GET HERE! The staff were all very attentive and helpful and made the experience one for the books. The empty plate is because the phone didn't have time to eat first Enjoy some pics of the restaurant too

The restaurant itself is quite small and the parking situation is not the greatest. Apart from that, the ambiance is nice. The service wasn't anything to write home about nor anything to complain about. As for the food? Pretty good. I got the carrot cake pancakes which were fine, they tasted a bit like a candle. Next time, I will stick with my chicken & waffles.

Parking stinks, but other than that we had an excellent experience here. Super friendly staff and good service. Food and drinks were excellent and it's a comfortable, cozy space. Would probably not be my first choice with a large group but for two of us it was fabulous. Vegetarian and gluten free items are clearly marked on the menu and while the space is technically accessible to those using mobility equipment, it's a bit tight so I could see things potentially needing to be rearranged a bit.

Street parking is hard to find, so plan ahead. When we got there, we were immediately greeted. It took about 10 minutes for our reserved table to be ready. This restaurant was packed on a Saturday morning, so I definitely recommend making a reservation! Even with it being packed, our table still felt big enough. The vibe in here is very cute. Everything I tried was fantastic! I would highly recommend the pimento scrambled eggs.

Came here on Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was busy but I was seated right away! (reservations are good idea but I got lucky) I ordered the horchata cafe ( not pictured) and it was great! Tasted like a cinnamon latte. The steak and eggs were good! The steak was a little dry but that's how I like my meat so it was fine for me! eggs has great flavor, hash browns were good! Just some typical hashed potatoes. The banana break pancakes was the STAR of this meal, they were fluffy, soft, sweet...I'll be coming back to try their German chocolate pancakes!! The hope breakfast was good! Typical flavor and were exactly what we expected from a breakfast plate. GET THE PANCAKES!!! They're fire af Ambiance was chill, I saw families, some people in large friend groups. The summer outdoor patio is cool! The street is blocked off and they have tables out there shared with Astoria cafe

I've been a big fan of Hope since it opens. And I'm thrilled to see so many locations open. A new favorite of mine was the chicken and biscuit. I added an over easy egg for that delicious yolk burst. The chicken had the literal best hot honey drizzled all over it. Hard to eat but 1000% worth it. My partner had the chicken and waffles. This is the bone in version. So much chicken!! And that maple jalapeno syrup was spot on. Giving 4 stars because I feel like service has gone downhill. Even with a reservation, you can have quite the wait. They rush folks out of there and servers have so many tables, you can get forgotten for a while.

Great spot cathedral hill area of St Paul. Modern and cozy, big portions (we all had to box half our food) and the coffee was pretty good, though some people in our group felt I could use an extra shot of espresso in their lattes. Overall great and recommend it!

Fast and friendly service, lots of vegetarian options, and a nice cozy space. I highly recommend the blackened cauliflower dish!! Everything I want in a classic breakfast plate, but no meat. Hits the spot!

Cute place with lots of seating outside. Too bad it was a chilly day. We were sat upstairs and our server was really nice. I ordered the carrot cake pancakes and they didn't seem quite cooked fully cooked. It tasted sticky and gritty like uncooked batter. She was very apologetic and put in a different order for me - Hope's breakfast. It was traditional with bacon, sunny side up eggs and hash. I guess I decided to play it safe after that. Other guests liked their smoked salmon and eggs and pillow pancakes. The thermos to keep coffee warm was a nice touch. Very cute place with a lot of character. Will give them another go when I'm in town for sure.

Excellent! My girlfriend and I made a reservation for 2 for a Saturday brunch at 11 am. The online reservation process was a breeze. Do plan extra time for parking as there is not a dedicated lot, yet street parking does exist. We got seated upstairs which I thought was so cool being in a historic building overlooking some of downtown. There were some awesome MN edgy art paintings upstairs as well. I adored the Hawaiian bowl and Pistachio Cardamom espresso drink. As an avid coffee fan, I appreciated the vast array of espresso options on the menu. It was very hard to choose one. The one downfall (and I won't even erase a star for this) is that my friend ended up bringing her son on a last minute whim and when she called to ask for an extra highchair, the staff were very strict that there was only room for 2 chairs. Long and behold, when everything was all settled, we were able to add an extra normal chair and the world didn't collapse.

Always a good meal with good service at Hope Breakfast Bar. I love the building, especially upstairs where they have kept some of the firehouse history in the building. From an excellent coffee menu ,to always changing specials, this place does it all well. The Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs were very good. We also ordered some Pumpkin Pancakes from the special menu and they were fantastic. They looked like they were going to be overly sweet but not the case at all. Fluffy, full of flavor without killing it with sweetness. The coffee is always good here, I love a Caramel Latte and they do it well. Heads up that parking is street parking and it can be tough to find but it is worth the effort.

Lovely spot for breakfast!! The server was so sweet, and attentive. The breakfast food is amazing, such a range from classic breakfast plate, to waffles, toast, pancakes, vegan breakfast plates and creative bowls. Really can't go wrong!! Plus fun outdoor seating. Cute spot.

    Giant Pickle Pretzel
    Hoa N.

Took some family visiting here for brunch. There's not much free parking within the immediate vicinity, but there are some neighborhoods you could do street parking on. It is a smaller space, so definitely reserve in advance to decrease the wait time. Our favorite and must get for a group would be their giant pretzel with pickle spread. Even if you're not a huge pickle lover, the pretzel itself was so soft and warm. They give you plenty of the spread and we had to take the leftover spread home.

It's a really cozy moody interior, with *no big lights* aka great low lighting and comfy seating options. When we went, there were just a few other parties there so pretty quiet. But, we were able to order and drink one drink during the ~45 minutes we had. They closed up shop promptly at 10pm. They had a classics and a "rumors" section of the menu. I didn't think the signature drinks were overly unique, with classics like Paper Plane making that menu side. I had a pomegranate mojito which was good! Consensus was that the cocktails were good not exceptional, especially for the $16-17 price point. We ordered churros for the table which were a table favorite! I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again, but we enjoyed our time and could see this being a good option if you lived in the neighborhood and don't mind the early close hours.

I have been here two times in the last week and lemme tell ya.. this is quite the spot. I do suggest making a reservation because everytime I go here it is popping! What a vibey place, the lights aren't too bright, it gives a hip, fun, light energy and is not too pretentious but has INCREDIBLE FOOD AND DRINKS. Right now, one of their specials is whitefish toast.. if you enjoy fish at all, you need this. The fish is light and fresh, they put fresh dill on top and it is placed on top of some toasted sourdough bread perfectly. The fish is flavorful, a lil earthy and I feel as if there are capers or olives in in the fish mixture, whatever it is is fire! The burrata, beets, and citrus is a nice lovely, fresh, light app, the burrata is perfection with the beets and fresh, juicy citrus, drizzled with some oil and random pieces of garlic mixed in, YUM. I suggest ordering bread on the side with this one! The wings here are a staple and always delish. Crispy, hot, and coated perfectly in a light sweet chili sauce.. they hit the spot everytime. The housemade ranch is a perfect dipper. The other day I tried the chorizo and scallops... oh my goodness gracious.. it was a lil spicy and creamy with the bean puree and the scallops were buttery, light and divine! 10 outta 10 would do again. Finally, got the goat cheesecake, gluten free ginger snap crust with poached pears. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I want this now and in every lifetime! The cheesecake was light, yet decadent, deep, creamy with a light, unassuming flavor. The crust was delicious and the poached pears added that perfect fruit component. I got Liam as my server both times, he was helpful, attentive, had good suggestions when asked questions and didn't interrupt at all, amazing! This is the spot for any occasion!

It is in the Mac-Groveland neighborhood so there is ample street parking nearby if you turn on any of the side streets. The restaurant does get busy at dinner, so I recommend making a reservation ahead of time. They have many unique options for cocktails and mocktails. I opted for the Slaychel which is a non-alcoholic beverage that I think of as an elevated mimosa. It is fruity, slightly tart, and delicious! The service was great! Our water was frequently refilled and never got empty, and our server asked about any allergies and dietary restrictions before we ordered. They were able to modify menu items to fit the different dietary restrictions! Two people in our party (including myself) are vegetarians and one member is gluten-free and also doesn't consume much dairy or eggs. They were able to serve the patatas bravas with the egg on the side and the grilled asparagus with the egg and cheese on the side so we were able to all share the starters. The patatas bravas were wonderful! The potatoes are perfectly crispy but still fluffy. The tomato sauce was slightly smokey and had a very slight kick (think Minnesota spice) and it balanced out well with the creamy tomato. If you're only going to try one appetizer, this is the one to try! The asparagus was also nice. The salsa verde had a slight kick (a bit more than the tomato sauce from the patatas bravas, but not super spicy. Still Minnesota level of spice). The shallots also added a nice crispy texture to the dish! The egg really stood out in this dish, with its runny yolk and batter coating. There were a lot of nice elements and textures. As for pastas, I split the Spaghetti and Radiatore with a friend. The Radiatore was nutty and tangy, and the serving size was generous. I enjoyed it, but I would order the Spaghetti over it any day! I don't even know how to describe the Spaghetti and do it justice. It was creamy, cheesy, delicious. Our server said it was a staff favorite, and I understand why. If you're looking for a vegetarian option, go with this one!! Even if you aren't a vegetarian, give it a try. It's so classic, and it's done so well. For dessert: they give free churros when you're dining in! They are served warm with a chocolate drizzle. We also ordered the Honey Cake which we enjoyed a lot! The cake itself was light, like a mousse. There was some crunch from the hazelnut praline and honeycomb toffee pieces. It was nutty and sweet but not overly sweet. It was a perfect way to finish off the meal! Estelle was delicious and the service was great! I can't wait to come back!

I went here with my twin sister, her husband, her husbands 2 brothers and one of his brother's fiance who were in town. All are foodies. All wanted to experience a good night out to titillate the tastebuds. For I try to impress upon out of town guests that not everyone in MN is of Scandinavian origin! But I digress... The food is just...awesome! Presentation is completely unique, including flaming drinks, an assortment of vessels for the dishes to accommodate the dish with an interesting flare without compromising ease of consuming or taste. Patatas bravas, tequenos, and rompe colchon were excellent. I mean mouth wateringly amazing. Shrimp in the rompe colchon was cooked PERFECTLY and the balance of the sour leche de tigre and mango made the dish interesting for the palate. Broccolini side dish was also cooked perfectly and the cheese foam gave a unique twist to the side dish. I ordered the bollitos pelones and OH MY GOODNESS. Think huge fried (but not greasy) ball of corn dough (like tamale but grains not so fine) stuffed with braised lamb and swimming in a dark, curry and spiced sauce. It was SOOOO GOOD and nothing like I'd ever had before. I also tried the pasta with rabbit and UMAMI! it was tasty. Also unique flavor that I cannot quite identify and the sauce to meat to pasta ratio was perfect. LOVED this experience and will 10000000% go back!

I still don't think I'll find one better than Saint Dinette. (RIP )
