Decent dive bar in the west metro. Not a great selection of beers on tap but what they do have is a good variety. They also have plenty of good cans and bottles. The bar is pretty big. There are pool tables and video games. They sell pull tabs here too. If you want food, they have at least 15 kinds of Heggies pizza. The staff here is friendly. I'm always hesitant to leave a bad a review however this bar really needs to be called out. My friend and I stopped in after an outdoor show nearby. 1st thing we noticed is the parking lot was pretty empty for a Friday night. Once we sat up at the bar to order our drinks we figured out why. There were 2 female bartenders working and neither could muster a smile. They gave the impression of being outright hostile with the irritated faces, and eye rolling at costumers. We also noticed the vast majority of customers were male so we thought possibly these bartenders just didn't like women in their bar however from the other reviews I guess their terrible attitude doesn't discriminate. If I owned this place I'd be pissed off at all the customers they are losing due to the unwelcome vibe they put off. We definitely won't be in again. read more

Only getting a 2 because the new bartender was very nice. The other one (the blonde) was rude. We asked the new guy about happy hour. He asked and came back with cans and rails are a buck off. Between us we had 5 cans of beer. Only 1 registered at $1 off. We inquired and the blonde comes over and asks what's up. We stated what we believed to be happy hour. She said no it's complicated only some are on happy hour. Then she proceeds to ask me if I have ever been here before (rudely). I said well yes in the past quite often. Hmmm guess we know why we haven't been there in awhile. Thanks but NO THANKS. We tipped the new guy $10. Hope he doesn't have to share. We will NOT be back. Too bad as it use to be quite fun back when. I changed my mind. Only getting 1 star. Very casual atmosphere . Music is better than average. Bartenders pour a nice drink at fair prices. Customers are usually locals and are very friendly. Convenient parking both on and off the street. Don't come here hungry, you'll be disappointed. read more

I remember when Inkahoots was a fun place to go just years ago. Not anymore, bartenders with an attitude and feels more like a fall out shelter at a trailer Parker during a tornado. Management/owner : increase your business and fire the bartenders (especially the blond Mama Cass) Too bad, dives with bands should be rocking on Friday/Saturday nights. I travel for work and this place was recommended as a good stop to make in the area. I went all the way there and was refused service because my license is from out of state. I've never ran into this issue before, and technically private businesses have the right to refuse anyone, but it's not posted anywhere that I can find. Apparently it's policy to refuse any out of state ID under the age of 25 unless you have another form of ID. So if you're from out of state and under the age of 25 be sure to bring your passport or birth certificate to be served? Pretty ridiculous. read more

Great live music and you can dance like a crazed maniac without looking outta place. Laid back and unpretentious atmosphere with pull tabs. No cover charge even if there's a great live band on Saturday night. Most places would have a cover charge. This isn't a fancy bar and people might run into you since it's kinda small and gets crowded. The live band music is also very loud so it's hard to talk with your friends. If you are expecting a meat market and want eye candy as another reviewer mentioned then this might not be the place for you. Rude poorly trained bar tenders. Just got my id reissued and had a bar tender go back and forth with my id being very loud about it saying it was a fake. I'm 25 went in with my marine buddies and were treated like trash kids. It's an awesome hangout.. Very cool, and fun staff running it's operations.. I went there all the time for many years, til I moved.. Awesome place to bring a date when you just want to lay low, yet have a blast.. Also a well kept secret for singles looking to maybe meet someone new.. I don't know if they still do, but they used to have great live entertainment on the weekends, bingo one night during the week, and Texas Hold em one night, as well as karaoke one night.. During the summer, they had at least when I used to go there softball, and something called "Rodeo Days".. I'd call In kahoot's a hidden gem. read more

About a year or so ago I was delivering a truckload to a business nearby so I parked for the night and walked over. I am very careful of my posts regarding restaurants. I have worked as a caterer and know how bad reviews can affect eating establishments. It's too bad that this place was SO bad, that I feel it's my responsibility to say something. Make NO MISTAKE, this place is only for "regulars". My sister convinced me to go out last weekend. I lost the love of my life a year and a half ago and I've been very depressed. I don't go out and haven't for a very long time. She convinced me to try "my kind of place" and a dive bar fit the bill. I agreed. We were there for just about 1 hour. I had 2 beers and my sister was using her credit card for our tab. She asked the very moody bartender to run two separate tabs, to make it easier for us at the end of the night. The bartender insisted that she had already spilt the tab, however she didn't have my credit card yet. My sister asked again, with my card in hand, that they split our tab. The bartender grabbed my card very angrily out of my sister's hand. Keep in mind, I'd only had 2 beers, so I was no where near drunk. She gave it to her co-worker. The co-worker than cut my sister off. At this point, we didn't really care because of how rude the wait staff was being. Moments later, the bouncer came up to my sister and told her she had to leave. She was upset, of course, as we didn't do anything. I was not addressed, only my sister. She went outside and I waited so I could get my card back. The bartender told me they never had my card. At that point, we decided to call the police. I went outside and my sister decided to go in to get my card (probably not the best idea, but we were completely dumbfounded and just wanted to leave and never come back). My sister decided it was in her best interest to capture this on her phone video. The bartender walked up to her and grabbed her phone right out of her hand and ordered the bouncer to escort her outside! The police showed up, retrieved my sisters phone from the bartender but the establishment lied and said they never had my card. When I checked my balance, there were 2 charges for the two beers that I had.... After all of this, they told the police that my sister had been there often, acting up and causing trouble. This was the first time either of us had ever been there! I'm completely disgusted by this place. They must be happy with their current patrons and don't care if they ever have any new ones. read more

I went to Inn Kahoots after the hamel rodeo and it was such a blast!! I am from minneapolis and i'm so use to the crazy bar scene downtown so this was definitely different but in a really good way. If you go to the hamel rodeo I 100% recommend going to Inn Kahoots after! They went all out and turned the parking lot into a whole area with a live band, food, drinks and little areas to just sit and chill at. Me and my friend didn't know what to expect but we danced with some cowboys and ended up staying until bar close and still didn't want to leave!! Such a fun little place!! read more

Make no mistake it's a dive bar and if that's what you're looking for you've found one that is worth the drive to get there. Currently this area has some new houses being built so you're getting a mixture of some new residents with the people who have been there for years. There are a couple pool tables here and some nights have live band. When I say the worst bar I've ever been too.. I absolutely mean it. 24 year old that lives in Wisconsin. With 7 forms of ID, presented them all to the bartender, mind you this bartender was hammered. Took us 30 minutes to even get recognized by the bartender. Oh ya, there was maybe a total of 8 other people in the entire bar. When he refused me, I said ok, went in the bathroom to find no toilet paper, black mold, and literal poop on the floor next to the toilet. If the place gets burned down, no one will be happier than I! Bald, fat, old bartender needs to get off his high horse. The bartenders are crabby, they never smile. My wife asked the bartender (the one with the short hair and kinda looks like a boy) what ipa's they had. She named one. Our designated driver asked the blonde bartender if they offer free carbonated coke in a plastic glass. She said we don't do that here. This bar has really gone downhill. I was slightly drunk when asked to stop over to Inn Kahoots after an evening of bowling and boozing at the Medina. Apparently a "really great band" was playing there, Soul Tree. Walking into the bar to their top 1000 classic, "Big Boots", I noticed everyone staring at my "Communist" t-shirt I had recently purchased at Urban Outfitters. I never knew the country was this close to the city! In Kahoots is every backwoods bar you have seen in Hollywood films..where the characters have a car malfunction, go in to the only building with a neon sign to call a mechanic, get drunk, dance around the bar, say a few "whoo hoos!", buy a round for everyone, then break into a group rendition of "friends in low places" to end the night. There is nothing wrong with this once in a lifetime. Soul Tree, that's something you can't un-see/un-hear. Don't look for any fancy beers. Don't wear a "Communist" shirt either, it's not appreciated. read more

Winter broom ball leagues and summer volleyball leagues make for a great time to meet new friends and nothing beats the new happy hour prices and times! Great bar, friendly bartenders, awful pull tab guy. A friend and myself like playing pull tabs at these local bars and have a couple drinks. We were deep into a box, down a considerable amount of money. We hit a few good winners to eventually go up $75 each. As we were going to give the guy a tip on the last winner to finally go ahead on the night, he commented about how cheap we were, stating he "needed to make a living too". Despite being down until our last play, he made sure to tell us the $30 in tips prior, and the $10 we were about to give him, was not worthy of his time. FYI: I've never gone out of my way to write a bad review for any business in my life, but this experience was absolutely unbelievable. I have never had such terrible service in my life. The "bouncer" (bubbles was his name, apparently) checked my I.D several times for no reason. (I'm sober cabbing for the band that they hired to play that night), so I didn't order any drinks. He kicked me out for having juice in the bar, I offered to put it away in my car, but he proceeded to yell in my face using extremely profound language. I'm only 5 ft., 100 lb., 22 year old girl, so having a large grown man screaming in my face was actually a bit scary. The one good thing I can say, is that the blonde bartender with short hair was EXTREMELY polite & professional with all of us & made it clear that her coworkers were in the wrong & were being very unprofessional. I am in disbelief. How this place is even in business is beyond me. Would never come back, & I hope they learn to service their customers in a better manner. I've been coming to this place for about a dozen years and while I long for the days when top notch bartender Betty served the drinks and always up for a little chin wag, Mandy and her sister behind the bar have always been 5 star. The rough and tumble crowd of yesteryear have since been watered down with all the young professional-types and the wives who spend their money which I'm sure is welcomed by the owners, because hey, who doesn't like increased revenues. What I think this nouveau riche clientèle has unfortunately done, though, is created a scenario where you no longer have the good old bar flies that made this place such a joy to visit anymore. You instead have a hodge podge of punters that act like tourists on their first visit to a dive bar. Aside from all this (after all, times they are a changin), the icing for me and why I shan't return anytime soon is because anyone tending bar these days (Mandy and her sister excluded) appear to always wake up angry. Please, don't go here if you are looking for TGIF, Applebee's, Stella's roofop, or some overpriced martini slinging, self important clone bar in the warehouse district. This is a small town bar, the same kind you can roll into off of any one lane blacktop in North Dakota, they are all a precious and dwindling resource in our self-important narcissistic world, and, significantly, there are damn few of them within reasonable driving distance of the western 'burbs. And, yes, ya might look out of place with a Mike Tyson face tatoo, and enough metal sticking out of your eyebrows, lips and chin to tune in a BBC shortwave signal, but folks will shrug their shoulders and ignore you after the first 60 seconds, which is a damn site less hassle than you'd experience if you walked into an Uptown bar in a NASCAR wife beater T shirt and a John Deere cap, with dust from the combine still on your work boots. It's not better, it's not worse it's just DIFFERENT. So, relax, calm down, leave your existential paperback in the car, take a break from your goth makeup for one night, and head down for a cheap cold beer, fresh popcorn, gourmet FROZEN Pizza (yea, it exists, Heggies, and is is addicting) a hoppin' band and a crowded and tiny dance floor. But, please, before you do, shift your brain into NEUTRAL, and set the parking brake.
