We have wanted to try this place and went there for lunch. The menu was extensive. We waited and waited for someone to help us but there were no servers in the room. It was fairly busy and it appeared everyone else had been served. We finally gave up and left. I have seen some reviews in the past complaining about the same thing. I would think management would have made sure to solve the problem but apparently they are not concerned. read more

Went here as part of party/bar crawl. It was a Saturday night, they had all the tables moved so it was standing/dance floor vibes. We stopped by here to try and watch the Gopher football game since most other bars were full and very loud. The place is spacious and there were quite a few other full tables near us. This gives me more of a vibe that it's a place 20-somethings go to for a drunken night out than a sports bar though - but the game was on so we were sat down. When we got there I asked the waitress for a beer list, and she just told me to look at what was on tap. The tap wasn't close to our table so I was confused and couldn't really see - she didn't list off what was available either when my boyfriend tried to pry. I ended up with a Bud Light since that's what I could make out from our spot. The menu was your basic bar-food menu with the addition of some broasted chicken. We came at an odd time so my boyfriend got some wings and I got the house salad with ranch. The wings were pretty good, nothing special. The house salad was bleak, pretty much lettuce and cheese and the ranch was served just in packets. Overall, probably won't be back here just for the lack of originality and atmosphere. read more

Sis and I were planning on attending the Halloween parade and thought we'd catch an early lunch before we headed to the parade. We luckily found a parking spot close by. The streets were already busy at 11am. We got there right when they opened at 11am and found a high top to sit at (seat yourself). Our visit was pretty disappointing... likely due to the Halloween event. We decided on this place due to their expanded menu options. We are burger and wraps eaters!! We already knew what we were ordering before we went (Rodeo burger and a Cuban sandwich). However we were given a limited event menu and neither of these meals were being offered. There was no mention of a limited halloween menu on their website. Basic apps and burgers and kid options, nothing fancy. So we ordered 3 entrees: 2 plain hamburgers (fries) and a pulled pork sandwich (tator tots). We put the pulled pork and bbq sauce ON our hamburgers in order to elevate it. Asked for a little pink, but my burger was more than a little. Patty was nice and thick (thus not cooked too order) but I wouldn't say it had any flavor/seasoning. The pulled pork and bbq sauce stole the show. French fries were crisp and slight seasoned but not much potato inside. The tator tots had the better crispy outside to soft potato inside ratio. Same great seasoning. (Sidenote: leftover tots were used for breakfast the next day as a hashbrown substitute. Yummy yummy!) After finished eating, I headed to the ladies room to wash my hands from the messy meal. Cool faucet spout. Totally grossed out that my shoes were stuck/suctioned to the floor when I tried to walk to dry my hands. We're talking loud noise just to lift the soles off the floor. By the time our entrees were brought out the place was packed, not a free table to be had. 3 waiters/tresses and a bartender. They were busy. We did wait patiently for a to-go box and the bill. Truthfully, I don't know if we'll be back if we're the ones calling the shots. A friend would have to want to come here badly enough for me to try it again... and not need the restroom. read more

I recently visited Wheel House located in the heart of downtown Anoka and was blown away by this burger I had, leaving me excited to start exploring more of the menu! As an added bonus, all their burgers are half priced Thursday making this place a no brainer. MN Wild Rice Burger: A healthy half pound patty infused with Minnesota wild rice on a bed of lettuce and red onion, then topped with your choice of cheese. I went with Pepper Jack because Pepper Jack. This meaty beast was prepared perfectly to order at medium and the wild rice added a nice texture to the patty along with an earthy flavor. Their burgers come with a side of house made chips or fries and bread and butter pickles. I got the chips are they were delicious. Wheelhouse has an awesome HH and great daily specials like roasted Chicken on Mondays and $2 Tacos on Wednesday to name a few. I was in on a Monday night and the staff was extremely friendly and prompt making this place even more memorable. read more

Haven't been back since the updating, so pleasing to walk into a clean restaurant & bar. Great service today from our server Erica. Thursdays are 1/2 price on burgers, so all 4 of us had different burgers! The Mushroom Swiss Burger was HUGE & cooked perfectly with fresh grilled mushrooms ontop. Spicy Burger lived up to its name-fresh jalapeños top the burger! The back patio is open but we opted not to eat out there since it was really smoky. read more

Wheelhouse is a BIG step up from the old place - they have great food! The new Wheelhouse seems to be a typical bar as far as the booze goes, no specialty cocktails or anything like that. But they pay a lot of extra attention to their food. I really enjoyed my meal. My Friday clam chowder soup of the day was good. The "ultimate bacon burger" was good. But my mac & cheese (with added bacon & pulled pork) was off the hook GREAT!!! My dessert was awesome too. I went with the chocolate lava cake ala mode. It tasted as good as it looks. The service was excellent. My server was completely 100% on top of everything. The new décor is pretty nice too. Everything is dark wood with corrugated tin accents throughout. It gives the whole place a modern yet rustic look. You get the idea. I wouldn't hesitate to go back again...and again...and again...especially for the mac & cheese. If I could give zero stars, I would. Came in with two girlfriends for dinner on a Thursday at 6:15. It was not very busy. Took 10 minutes to get greeted and get menus and order beverages. Took another 10-15 minutes to get our food ordered - not for lack of trying. That puts us at 6:40. As of 7:05 we still didn't have our food. We asked for them to pack it up to-go as we had somewhere to be at 7:30. By 7:19 we received our food and checks. We asked multiple times for the server to check on our food throughout the time at the table. We never got drink refills, didn't get checked up on. Terrible experience, will not be back. read more

We stopped on for dinner on a Friday around 7 pm. The service was bad. Our server was more interested in a man sitting at the bar than her customers. My wife ordered the vegetable medley which included broccoli, cauliflower and carrots. There was more broccoli stems in the medley than anything else and not one broccoli florets. They do live djs and it's definitely catered towards college students. If you like a quiet small town feeling, don't go after 8pm on a Friday or Saturday. We decided to go out for happy hour. I've wanted to try the Wheel House and online says they have a happy hour. The happy hour is half price on certain drinks and beers. The drinks are solid. Good pour and good size. The bar is dark inside and wide open. We started out with some spicy garlic chimichurri and captain Morgan wings. Wow! So much sauce. The spicy garlic chimichurri had a great heat and not overpowering. The captain Morgan were my favorite. A hint of sweetness to them. And again when places are cheap on sauce the Wheelhouse is not! Dare I say it? I liked their wings better than someone located across the street. We also got the smoked club house. This is house smoked brisket, turkey, bacon, Swiss and American cheese served on Texas toast with some honey mustard. Flavorful and the portion was so large we were able to split the sandwich. The side we got were tots. I love a good fried tot and Wheelhouse nailed it! Perfect crunch. I'm also a condiment snob. Their blue cheese and ranch are delicious! Pros: Nice happy hour - $2 beers until 6:00 Tots were good and fresh Good ranch Good bar bingo with a nice caller and great payouts Cons: Our waitress was wearing so much perfume, I couldn't breathe when she came around or even walked by. Buffalo chicken wrap was mediocre. The thing that bothered me the most was all of the people who weren't wearing masks or wearing them improperly. Not cool! First time here. Walk in and there are over 100 seats available. Most people are at the bar and seem like regulars. Just trying to get a bite to eat but apparently there's no waiter or waitress to be found. Plenty of people behind the bar chatting with the local regulars but no instruction from them whatsoever on what I should do. So I grab a table and think maybe they'll come to me. So far it's been 10 minutes and not even a glance. Kind of weird. I guess they don't want my money today in in about five minutes late won't get it. read more

Horrible experience my 1st time there, and won't return. We had a party of 6 and there was a different party of 8 that was seated next to us on the patio. The waitress brought my entree and set it in front of me. The 1st problem was, it was supposed to have gone to someone at the table of 8 next to us. Meanwhile, it sat in front of me and got cold for 15 or so minutes until the rest of my party's food was delivered. The 3rd problem was that when I did go to eat my Philly Cheesesteak sandwich, it had hardly any meat in it. Someone else at my table ordered the same sandwich and their's had a good portion of meat in it but mine very sparsely covered the bun. Looking back, I should have complained to the manager at the time but I was embarrassed to do so in the group I was in. I was so disappointed! read more

Thought we'd try this place since the re opening. Very disappointed with our decision. Service was slow, food and drinks are over priced.... I got the broasted chicken which was good, the mashed potatoes tasted worse than from a box, Mac and cheese came out with the cheese already hardening from it being cold, noodles were over cooked so they fell apart when I'd try to stab them with my fork. Steak sandwich had no more than a couple ounces of skirt steak accompanied by a huge hoagie roll, lettuce, tomato, onion. Got charged extra for a small side of horseradish which was much needed to give it any flavor. Had the waitress take the sandwich away and walked out very disappointed with a 66 dollar tab. Been to this restaurant twice and very happy with the outdoor seating, apps, wings and flatbread pizza. Service is very good and prices are fantastic. If I could rate this 0 stars I would. I have worked in the food industry in the past and this was no way to treat a customer. I placed my order at 3:07 on Friday for a 5:25pm pick up. My fiancé walked in at 5:15 and spoke with the bartender. Bri the bartender told him to take a seat as the broiler was not open and the food was not ready. I ended up parking the car and coming in as well. Nobody came to the table to see if we needed anything. The sever "V" made a drink gesture from the register and I shook my head no. Eventually the bartender asked us at 6pm if we have got our order yet. I said no. Bartender went back to the kitchen and brought out our food. The bartender stated that the cook said that our food was ready since 5:25 and yelled at the cook and server asking why they never followed up on the food. I asked if I could get a refund as my food was ice cold. I know that hot items are not supposed to be below 140 degrees and that cold items are not supposed to be above 40 which none of the food was to temp. We had to through our burger out as it was ordered medium rare and sat for over a half hour. We didn't want food poisoning. The bartender stated that she can not give a refund as it was an online order and that I had to request it online. Well that isn't an option. I called the store Saturday and Sunday. Left a message both days for a the manager. The manager Mel called me back finally tonight. She was defensive from the beginning. Mel stated that it's not there responsibility to track down customers if they are early for there online order. She said that the server "V" asked us if we needed anything 3 times and that she pulled the camera footage. She said that it's my fault and that there is nothing she will do for me. Had dinner here last night...Remodel looks nice and updated....Food was hit or miss...Wife had the Chicken Strawberry salad and stated the chicken had no seasoning and was very dry...I had the bone in wings and thought they were done nicely...We also had the mac and cheese that tasted it was right out of the box....Service was decent not great not horrible..Our waitress was very quiet...I will go back but the wife isn't as interested for a redo. read more
