GIANT chocolate chip pancake with crispy bacon. 6. One Big Pancake with Choice of Meat
    Carly L.

If you haven't made the choice to go and eat at Sparky's, you're missing out!! The food and atmosphere was the perfect small diner experience that I was hoping for! As you enter the building it's set in downtown Anoka, inside of a strip mall where you can get your eye exam done. The diner is a seat yourself place which gives the feeling of being a regular, as soon as we sat we were greeted and offered water. The server asked for our drink orders and let us peruse the menu while getting us our drinks. After they came back with our drinks, they asked if we were ready to order. My son ordered a GIANT chocolate chip pancake with a side of bacon. My husband ordered the Denver skillet with over easy eggs on top with white toasted bread. I ordered the supreme omelet with the rye toasted bread and hash browns with fried onions on top. (If you don't know, that's where you get the extra flavoring for your hash browns) We were stuffed and very content!! Also have to point out that the server came back and forth several times checking and refilling our coffee mugs, we were never dry...that's some freaking good service!! I would say run don't walk, get yourself to Sparky's for some fantastic breakfast! They've been around for 30 years and going strong with their obvious repeat business of locals. Plus while you're downtown, you can walk around and see the rest of the town and all of the amazing things that they have to offer. Such as boutiques and beautiful sights.

    8. Sparky's Breakfast with Choice of Meat. This is the 8a, the smaller version, with eggs, ham, and blueberry pancake

Was craving a big pancake breakfast after a hospital visit, and Sparky's was just the ticket! Quick service, good coffee with frequent refills, and the pancake with blueberries was heaven. Ordered the 8a, supposedly the "smaller" breakfast plate. Generous portions!

Sparky's is located in Anoka. Definitely feels like a mom and pops spot in reference to the atmosphere ; decorated with Christmas and valentines decor. It was busy but our waitress Kenna was kind and attentive. Off-street parking. The food was just okay. Pancakes are HUGE but we didn't care much for the taste. We had sausage omelettes, hash browns, and toast as well.

    Closes early!

Intimate breakfast stop in Anoka. If you blink, you might miss it-just be sure to get here before they close (check hours BEFORE you visit). We both had the eggs benedict special-one serving was more than enough for both of us! Excellent service from our server, Burette (she brought the Tabasco sauce before I could ask for it). Check it out if you want a small, friendly breakfast stop!

At the last minute we decided to go out for breakfast and Sparky's sounded good. Love the old time diner ambiance. The place is tightly packed with tables, and they were all full even on a Thursday morning. Staff was attentive Ann the food came quickly. Both meals were good and there was plenty of food, our dog was happy for some leftovers. They offer a 15% discount for veterans, and also have a discount for over 60 patrons. Would go back.

    The #1 breakfast.

I've lived in Anoka for over 30 years, and have never gone to Sparky's. Partially because it used to be a smoke-filled hole in the wall, and partially because there were better options with G's Cafe around the corner. Now that G's is closed, we tried this for my son's b-day breakfast. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. It's still a hole in the wall, but no remnants of the stale cigarette smoke. The tables were pretty tight and the Formica tops had ads for local businesses. Obviously pretty dated, as some of these business are no longer open. Lots of local regulars, typical of a small town diner. Our server was super attentive and made sure the surprisingly small coffee cup was never empty. We both ordered the #1, which was 2 eggs, wheat toast, tons of hash browns and choice of meat for $11. Food came out quickly and was prepared well. Lots of hash browns and a generous portion of smoked sausage (kielbasa). We were in a bit of a rush and had to leave behind a cup of coffee, so our waitress offered to give me a sizeable cup to go. Not sure my coronary arteries could handle being a regular, but we'd return.

Yes, that's the biscuits and gravy. That's all we could eat

A greasy spoon that somewhat delivers. Me and my daughter went in after her work finished for a quick lunch. I ordered the Denver skillet, she ordered the biscuits and gravy, and we split a small chocolate chip pancake. Let's start with the Denver skillet. It was large, and overall fine, but there was actually too much hash browns, resulting in the middle being mushy. The chocolate chip pancake was, in MN fashion, perfectly ordinary. Next is the biscuits and gravy (although I'm not even sure you can call it gravy). The "gravy" was gelatinous and flavorless, with the only flavor being very sweet, as if someone had grabbed the confectioners sugar instead of flour. It was like frosting was added to the gravy. The sausage seemed pre-cooked and added to the gravy separately. Oh, and the biscuits were dense. It was a total train wreck, and yet you could not stop eating it. Not in a good way, but in a "I'm starving and this is awful and I know I'm going to regret it later but I'm still eating it" way. Service was fast, friendly, and efficient, and prices were very reasonable. Decor and cleanliness seemed sketchy.

Not bad for a small town cafe!

I walked in and saw you could either order on a large touch screen on with a person at the front. I don't mind touch screens, so I went to start my order. The problem is that there are no pictures... so you're not 100% sure what you are ordering. I stopped the order and walked over to the case to order with the employee instead. There was one woman in front of me and she got her items quickly. I ordered 5 items. (See pic below) All of them were fantastic! I really do judge a place by how well they can do a croissant, and this place does them very well!! The employees were very polite but for some reason my order took almost 15 mins to fill... I watched them pull the items from the case, so I'm not sure why it took them so long to do the order. There was only one other person who ordered after me and she had a drink and a box of pastries too... she received her items first. As for the space, it is bland and feels like an old Carribou coffee.... There really wasn't anything that felt "Paris or French" here. Very bland and not very cozy. If you plan on going(the food was very good) order it to go...

We figured most places would be busier because it was the day after New Year's Day. We waited just under 15 minutes to be seated. The staff did the best they could to accommodate each party that came in, while moving through the line to fill tables quickly. I will say the café is on the tighter side. The booths are small, and the tables...well, they're kinda on top of each other. A couple who frequents the café recommended we try the "Fritter Toast". It comes in three flavors. We ordered the blueberry and let me tell you, KNOCK OUT! I wish I had only ordered that! I did order a breakfast special and it was okay. Nothing out of the ordinary for a breakfast joint. The food came relatively quickly and the portion size was big! Especially the pancakes. I will say, and other reviewers say the same, if you're looking for a small town feel, with friendly staff, Lindas' has some work to do. We didn't feel welcomed. Some of the staff were down right crabby and standoffish. If we don't go back, I won't be sad. But, I will need to figure out a way to get my hands on the fritter toast.

Note that you have to order here before being seated. Not too bad but does put the pressure on to order quickly so you can be seated before others. I went with the turkey melt and upgraded to fries and my partner got a turkey club with a fries upgrade. Together, this meal totaled just over $40 (no extra drink, we got waters). I feel bad giving a low score because of this but I do have to mention that the prices feel much higher than the quality of the food. Yes, we added fries instead of chips which might be the cause for the higher prices, but you can get two well made burgers for less than this so it doesn't feel justified. Additionally, the food was good but not great. My tuna melt lacked a bit of flavoring and only tasted of mayo. Normally this would be fine for me but not when I paid above average for my food. This really is a nice restaurant and in an area that doesn't have too many of those. Our waitress was very attentive (almost too attentive) and the service was good but I don't think I'd choose to visit again.
