This place has everything! All day breakfast, full coffee options, gigantic muffins, a meeting room, a printer, a drive-thru, a fire place, a patio, nice bathrooms -- I was so impressed!!! Clearly a community hub. Service was great. Excellent meeting spot. Horse girl aesthetic. I will be back if I am ever in the area! Good for groups or solo diners. read more

The place is really great. Sort of a pleasant surprise but when I try an indie in a smaller area for the first time I set expectations low. An attractive pleasant dining spot with outdoor seating and modern interior. The menu of food and drinks is vast, especially the latest trend in mixing non-coffee drinks with fruit flavors. There is also a cooler with sodas and real root beer. Some sandwiches have a little spice, not to worry, even some Scandinavians would be able to brag of having "just a little smear", so as not to feel decadent. Creative sandwiches, Buffalo turkey with a creamy sauce, cheese on toasted bun, you get the vibe. Once you quickly figure out the dangerous parking lot wedged between two angled streets and shared closely with a neighboring business casually stroll in. read more

Needed a pick me up on this dreary day and stopped at Blackwater Coffee & Cafe.My go to coffee to try at a new spot is the Caramel Macchiato.I ordered a medium Macchiato with oat milk. The coffee was okay.It lacked flavor and all of my syrup and coffee sat at the bottom of the cup.The service was quick and lots of smiles from the order taker was a nice treat! The is tons of parking. The set up typical coffee shop but there's a lot of room for seating and visiting friends! read more

Really bad location. Dangerous curve in the road makes caution your top priority in exiting. The gal at the counter needed me to repeat back everything I said to her due to having a headset on and probably being distracted by it. It was around 10 a.m. on a Friday morning and the drive through was humming, though only a couple tables inside occupied. There were 3 gals working the counter and their attitude was cursory, not warm and friendly. I chalk this up to them being busy and at least one of them must've been new as things weren't flowing smoothly. Everyone apparently orders ahead as I waited for my counter order as others came and went. The Dirty Chai was expensive (even for the small size and one shot of espresso). I knew from the first sip in the car I didn't like it. Way too watery, not near enough milk. Worst I've ever had. Got home and dumped it down the drain. Won't be back. read more

This place is adorable inside! Lots of tables and booths in sunny yellow tones that invite you in to stay awhile! My group got a turtle mocha and then two seasonal drinks (valentines themed). They were all delicious! There are only two bathrooms at this coffee shop, which is normally plenty- but this place is rather large and seemed busy, the bathrooms were busy the entire time we were there, which was the only downside to this place. I'd 10/10 recommend getting coffee here! They also had food, but we didn't try any on this visit. It's a fantastic option for a quick caffeine boost! read more

Sandwiches and iced coffee are delicious! And workers are super kind and patient helping us as first time customers. Love that they have a drive thru aswell!! read more

If you are looking for a cute, cozy and quiet place to get good food and great drinks then please check this place out! Found it randomly on google, but it is going to be a regular spot for me and my wife!! The staff were friendly, and the food and drinks were delicious. The coffee is on the strong and less sweet side, which was such a good surprise, and the food was made fresh. We got a chicken pesto flatbread, a mocha and a chai. Everything was wonderful!! read more

I'm not going to give a bad review, because I am so happy Blackwater opened on 394 and Hopkins crossroads. I love their milk tea, and their ancient grains bowl is wonderful. My feedback is that the service is terrible. They are friendly at the register, but I've been here a few times and every time, the employees are just chatting and take forever to get going on my order. It's really annoying. read more

Right when you walk into Blackwater, you can tell that they know what's up. The atmosphere is modern, furniture minimalistic, and prices pretty darn good. Service: Nothing outstanding here, but the gentleman who helped my friend and I was kind and helpful. Spit shields, face masks, and other COVID-19 precautions are clearly taken here. Atmosphere: The furniture is absolute dynamite. Enormous umbrellas found on the outside tables are funky and get your attention right away. The booths are a bright yellow that pops against the wood-grain tables. You feel cool sitting in this place, and it makes you want to return. Food: I ordered the Breakfast Burrito with Sausage. It came pipin' hot in a tomato basil wrap, sliced in half... and was darn good! The gooey cheese provided an impressive bridge of texture and flavor between the sausage, egg, and I think salsa too. If you like any of those ingredients, you gotta give this menu item a shot! Drinks: Coffee was bitter, but not in a bad way. It had a unique depth of flavor that was almost fruity, and I would be down for another cup any day. Overall, Blackwater is a delightful establishment boasting a contemporary vibe without the crowd of a busy city. I'd be happy to return when in the area again! read more

Great breakfasts sandwiches. Best of all, they do not use plastic take-out packaging. Fantastic!!

I am not from the area but decided to try out the Minneapolis location with a friend. The service was excellent and the food was excellent! I got the White Chocolate Mocha and my friend got the Thai Milk Tea, both were wonderful! For food, I got a danish and he got Thai chicken wrap. The peanut sauce on it was to die for! I highly recommend it here! read more

First time here, and while my company was great, the cafe itself was just alright. I ordered an almond milk mocha and a croissant egg sandwich. The mocha wasn't very chocolatey, but the egg sandwich was pretty heavenly. I'm not one to usually care what baristas/servers wear, but the baristas were looking a little concerningly unkept and were kind of rude too. The atmosphere is nice and cozy, and the location is convenient when you're passing through Maple Plain. They also have a drive through. read more

Nice place to work. Coffee was okay. Food was not fresh, rather reheated frozen stuff. Service was good though.

I will be driving out of my way just to come here. The coffee is so good, the caramel apple cider is omg delicious, the sandwiches are wildly scrumptious and some of the best food I've honestly ever had. The inside atmosphere is really cute. The staff could be a little friendlier, but I'll take amazing food/amazing service. read more

We stopped on our way to the parade. The people weren't the happiest but the breakfast was good and coffee great!

Excellent breakfast sandwiches and service! I always call and order mine in advance. I like to get a half dozen or a dozen bagel sandwiches for our workers. read more

Great place to grab a cup. Local vibe, great service and quality product. Comfortable seating and easy access off HWY12

I literally go here every single day. Great quality cold coffees and the fresh breakfast sandwiches rock.

I thought this was a great little spot, and unique for the area! Coffee was good, the croissant sandwich was good, and I really enjoyed their bakery items. I posted up, and worked for my laptop for a while, and it was a nice conducive space with good Internet connection. Also, the staff was super friendly and helpful. I would recommend read more

Love the feel of this place, cozy and definitely has that small-town vibe. I ordered the Healthy Choice sandwich and it was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had in a long time! I also had a cappuccino and that was good as well. Would be a great place to meet people or quietly study. read more

Food is decent, prices high for what you get, atmosphere lacking. If you're into the environment do know everything is served on or in styrofoam and or plastic. Most warm food is subject to a microwave. Orders are taken at the counter and your name called out when food is ready. read more

Stopped in on our way for a hike to grab some coffee. I had a vanilla almond milk latte and my husband got a black coffee. Both were delicious. We will definitely be back to try their food and other drinks. The place is a cute local place with plenty of seating, a room that's available for nonprofits and large groups, and a drive through that's convenient if you're in a hurry. read more

Wow, new owners slashed quantity. Ordered a Reuben for $9 and got two slices of beef. My son ordered a chicken wrap and had to search for the chicken, but he got plenty of lettuce. Not good, want the old management back! read more

I use to be a former employee so I am aware of how things are made both drink and food. I went in there expecting good quality , sadly I was let down. The latte I order was burned espresso and I could barely taste the flavor I asked. Also the employees were very loud when talking each other about how I requested my food. Very rude. I did asked for no onions but still received them. I loved this place as somewhere to come and relax but now I'd rather feel more welcome going to Starbucks or caribou. read more

Nothing special here. The best I can say about the sandwich is that it didn't come in plastic! I got a tuna melt that they didn't grill. All it had was a blob of tuna salad in the middle of the bread, (loosely called salad since all it was was tuna and mayo), a thin slice of American cheese and for an extra charge of $1.50 a pickle and bag of chips. All for a mear $9.69 w/o tax. The reuben was $10.75, but it cost more because they were giving so little meat the person asked and paid for extra meat. So for the price - there's no deal here. Sandwiches that I could make, nothing special. read more

My family of 6 enjoys Blackwater. Brian M above is an unhinged lunatic who's advances have been refused by the female servers. Sir, stay away from Blackwater and the servers. As a father of teen girls, I find your behavior disturbing and disgusting. read more

Stopped in to order dinner, which we have done often. A big fan of the Blue Beef sandwich. I recommend that sandwich. What made this visit different was the face that when a mistake was made on the order, the other employee picked up the mistake by the first person, worked on fixing our order and making the situation right. Big shout out to Jordan who knew how to fix a mistake. After the employee that made the mistake found out what was happening she apologized and gave me a credit on my sandwich. I don't expect every visit to be perfect but Jordan made a mistake into a positive by taking things into her own hands. Nicely done! read more

Highly recommend not having food here. I had heard good things so went with my motherinlaw. I ordered the Cuban because, well Cubans are awesome. Outside of the fact that the bread was just an ordinary bun, the sandwich was SLATHERED in mayonnaise, had ZEROmustard on it... plus had barbecue sauce & lettuce. Pop machine is not calibrated. Just go for coffee. read more

A great stop for food or beverages during any time of the day. I am not a coffee drinker, but they seem to have plenty of choices in that area. Working in Maple Plain means limited lunch options nearby. After eating my fill of Subway, I tried Blackwater and am sure to return when I need a good change of pace. They offer very good sandwiches (wraps as well which I have not tried). The pricing is a little spendy and the service can be slow but they offer take out, which works great. read more
