Right when you walk into Blackwater, you can tell that they know what's up. The atmosphere is modern, furniture minimalistic, and prices pretty darn good. Service: Nothing outstanding here, but the gentleman who helped my friend and I was kind and helpful. Spit shields, face masks, and other COVID-19 precautions are clearly taken here. Atmosphere: The furniture is absolute dynamite. Enormous umbrellas found on the outside tables are funky and get your attention right away. The booths are a bright yellow that pops against the wood-grain tables. You feel cool sitting in this place, and it makes you want to return. Food: I ordered the Breakfast Burrito with Sausage. It came pipin' hot in a tomato basil wrap, sliced in half... and was darn good! The gooey cheese provided an impressive bridge of texture and flavor between the sausage, egg, and I think salsa too. If you like any of those ingredients, you gotta give this menu item a shot! Drinks: Coffee was bitter, but not in a bad way. It had a unique depth of flavor that was almost fruity, and I would be down for another cup any day. Overall, Blackwater is a delightful establishment boasting a contemporary vibe without the crowd of a busy city. I'd be happy to return when in the area again!

First time here, and while my company was great, the cafe itself was just alright. I ordered an almond milk mocha and a croissant egg sandwich. The mocha wasn't very chocolatey, but the egg sandwich was pretty heavenly. I'm not one to usually care what baristas/servers wear, but the baristas were looking a little concerningly unkept and were kind of rude too. The atmosphere is nice and cozy, and the location is convenient when you're passing through Maple Plain. They also have a drive through.

Great breakfasts sandwiches. Best of all, they do not use plastic take-out packaging. Fantastic!!

Nice place to work. Coffee was okay. Food was not fresh, rather reheated frozen stuff. Service was good though.

This place is actually a decent size but due to its popularity, it felt very crowded! So possibly plan on taking your drink to go. The service here was good and the man who made my drink was nothing short of a sweetheart! I got the raspberry cheesecake latte with oatmilk. This drink was over $11!! Not what I was expecting! Definitely the most expensive coffee I have gotten! Their menu seemed to have lots of unique and tasty coffees and items! I'd love to come back and try more. Despite the cost, the coffee was very tasty! In my opinion, this is one of the best coffee shops in the twin cities!

But as an occasional treat, it was worth trying. The latte comes topped with cold foam, syrup drizzle, and dried banana slices, which made it feel extra fun and unique. It really did taste like banana bread in latte form. The decor inside is super cute and cozy too. Definitely a fun spot to try if you're looking for a specialty coffee drink!

I walked in and saw you could either order on a large touch screen on with a person at the front. I don't mind touch screens, so I went to start my order. The problem is that there are no pictures... so you're not 100% sure what you are ordering. I stopped the order and walked over to the case to order with the employee instead. There was one woman in front of me and she got her items quickly. I ordered 5 items. (See pic below) All of them were fantastic! I really do judge a place by how well they can do a croissant, and this place does them very well!! The employees were very polite but for some reason my order took almost 15 mins to fill... I watched them pull the items from the case, so I'm not sure why it took them so long to do the order. There was only one other person who ordered after me and she had a drink and a box of pastries too... she received her items first. As for the space, it is bland and feels like an old Carribou coffee.... There really wasn't anything that felt "Paris or French" here. Very bland and not very cozy. If you plan on going(the food was very good) order it to go...

So I found Benedict's online and thought it looked like a good choice. The restaurant itself is really bright open and airy. Lots of natural light and high wood beams. The restaurant employs an online wait list, which I love. So you join the wait list online, it tells you how long your wait is and the you can plan your arrival to minimize your wait. I was surprised that on a Saturday, we walked right in and were seated... it wasn't all that crowded (that said, there was a big No Kings rally that day so people might have been busy). At any rate, we were greeted and seated immediately at a nice table. I enjoyed the many options on the menu and also loved that you could order a single specialty pancake if you wanted one. I ordered the classic benedict. My husband got the tot hash. We ordered a strawberry nutella pancake to share. The pancake was good, though honestly the nutella strawberry topping was a bit meh. My husband said his tot hash was not what he expected (they seem to make their own tots and then deep fry them) but he did like it. My benedict was decent, but there was way too much ham and not enough hollandaise. I hate when people are stingy with the hollandaise. Coffee was good and strong. My peach mimosa was fine but honestly pretty small -- I'd be surprised if it was 8 oz. Service was OK. Nothing super major to complain about, but my mimosa wasn't delivered until I was almost through my first cup of coffee. The waitress clearly just forgot about it. She basically said so and apologized. I noted that many tables had lovely little bottles of water for when you wanted to refill your glass, but we did not receive one. It also bothered me a bit that there was a lot of "stuff" on the floor. Trash, bits of food, etc. I know that things get really busy at brunch spots on the weekends. But someone really needed to go around with a broom or a vacuum. It's just not what I expect from a dining establishment where I'm going to drop $80 on breakfast for two.
