Wow, this cafe absolutely wins at ambiance. This is a cute-as-heck coffee and brunch place that was clearly converted from a Victorian home in Eden Prairie. I had an awesome breakfast burrito and their awesome Tirimasu Latte (iced), and they have other offerings that will lure me from St Paul for future visits. Specifically, now that I am mourning the loss of Sun Street Breads and its Thursday Night Pizza Night, I'll have to try Smith's version of that. But I'll probably come back for brunch on a weekend pretty soon and get more coffee, as well as something from their bakery. But also, yes, brunch; the eggs in my burrito were really perfect. I was there at around noon on a Sunday; peak busy times so parking was a little hairy but I eventually found a spot. I absolutely recommend coming with a bunch of pals and hanging out for a good long time, but maybe don't all drive separately if it's noon-ish on a weekend. They have a lovely patio area which was well-populated, even on this extra-sunny mid-February day. If you like adorable cafes, you will definitely love this place. read more

On a WFH Friday, our internet was being "upgraded" aka xfinity had a outage in the area for a while... I immediately started looking at coffee shops that I could relocate to in order to work. I had been wanting to go try Smiths for a while but the opportunity just never presented itself despite being just down the road. I arrived and the driveway leading to the parking lot was lined with cars, but I was able to find a spot in the parking lot after a minute or so. It was definitely a full lot for sure. The location is absolutely adorable as this is a historic house. It was once a Dunn Brothers, but I do love that it is its own thing now rather than a chain. They had a outdoor patio that people were enjoying but it was a bit chilly for working and sitting outside, one person even had a dog which I LOVE! Inside the front door you are greeted with a welcoming counter that you can order. I opted to try the salted caramel iced latte. If you are consuming there (which I was) they give you a number to bring to your table and they bring the drink. I really liked this idea especially in the aspect of not having to stand and wait for a drink. The price was a bit high (7.55 for a 16 oz with $1 tip), but then again everything is getting expensive these days. I walked back to the seating area and there are essentially 3 rooms downstairs, I walked through all 3 to see where working would be ideal. I went upstairs but there was a woman in the room so I assumed it was a group that was meeting or something so I opted to not investigate further. I found seating downstairs in what felt like the quietest part, but there were a lot of people there talking and the acoustics were not exactly fantastic. I did have a call which I took via teams and air pods and discovered the sound in the room was actually really not awesome for a meeting as it was quite loud and the wifi was not strong enough to support the video on the teams call. So would I recommend working from Smith, not if you have a meeting, but if you are looking for a place that has some background noise, I guess... However this is certainly a place that is perfect for meeting someone and enjoying breakfast or coffee and I love that. I did not order food this time, but everything I saw get delivered looked delicious. Had a day off and an anniversary to celebrate, so decided to take a drive out to Smith. Checking out the menu online prior, I knew I'd likely be impressed. The space is so cute, it actually is a little house. Parking is a bit of a downer here, the lot is small, and you can't park on the street or in other lots nearby. The coffee was fantastic. I tried an iced s'mores latte, which was topped with chocolate sauce, marshmallow, and graham cracker. I liked that it wasn't a sugar bomb, even though it had the potential to be. Hubs had a tiramsu latte, which was also enjoyed. Didn't order food, but saw some of the items coming out and food looked good. I've been to smith coffee and cafe twice now and have had mostly good experiences. The first time I came was on a Saturday morning and it was PACKED. Parking was a nightmare but my latte was delicious. BE WARNED THE APARTMENTS NEARBY WILL TOW!! So I can't lie to you the ending of that experience was pretty sad. I just went back this week though and they were serving pizza in the evening. I ended up getting a tiramisu sundae and sharing the pizza, overall pretty good and enjoyed the company. Cute coffee shop in Eden Prairie! I had the tiramisu latte and my friend had a latte. She liked the latte art, though I'm forgetting the actual design. I could definitely taste the tiramisu flavor and it wasn't overly sweet. I wish they offered a hot version, especially when the temps range from the 20s to negative. I think it was $7, which is a little on the pricey side. Service was friendly. About 10 mins before closing, one of the employees offered us some almond croissants for free because they didn't want to throw them out. I'm so excited to finally try this place after hearing about it for years and years. It's in an unsuspecting area, but very convenient in Eden Prairie. I will say the small parking lot threw me for a loop - it was completely full, and I almost decided to leave as I arrived. But I stuck it out and waited for a spot. We stopped by here a couple of months ago for lattes and pastry's. I ended up ordering the jalapeño egg biscuit sandwich and it was delicious. Pizza is a MUST. Pizza is only served on Thursday evenings and I highly recommend making a reservation because it can get busy and there is a limit on how many pizzas they serve a night. Service was great and answered all the questions we had before ordering. We had order the Busto Pepperoni and the ricotta and honey made this stand out. The other pizza was the Summer Corn which was loaded with different flavors and was essential for a summer evening out. I would get both of these again and again. For breakfast they have a good selection of meals and coffee. I enjoyed the B.E.C. but would probably try something else on my next visit. All the reviews are true, this place is adorable and has good coffee and food and It. Is. So. Loud. I've been here multiple times bc my kid likes it and again, the coffee and food are good! But so very loud. I'm sure there are quiet times, but I would guess they are very unpredictable. I ordered an iced gingerbread latte, which mostly just tasted like milk, and my friend's iced chai had a similar lack of flavor. Maybe we caught them on a bad day. We ordered the lemon ricotta, busto pepperoni, and the Fresno scallion. My favorite was the Fresno scallion, as it's very unique and had the perfect combination of spicy and sweet. You place your order for the pizzas and any drinks you may want up front and receive a table number for them to be brought over to you. The service was extremely quick but I definitely reccomended making a reservation to ensure you are able to get your pizzas! I always want to stay longer at Smith Coffee! I love their breakfast food more than their cafe drinks. The breakfast sandwiches are on the more expensive side, but I always tell friends to come hungry because they are worth it! Their homemade biscuits are buttery and flakey. I do prefer their bacon breakfast sandwiches because the sausage patty has been extremely thick in the past. This visit to Smith, we had a matcha latte with vanilla and a hot chocolate. Both came out with latte art and were super creamy, but we could have enjoyed them a little bit more if they were a tad bit sweeter. On a busy weekend in the winter, it can be difficult to find a spot to sit in the beautiful farm house. When it is nice outside, there is plenty of seating around the property! read more

Smith is a much-needed option for Eden Prairie. I haven't visited the Smith house since it was a Dunn Bros which is my loss, because I was pleasantly surprised by the vegetarian options and yummy matcha here. Service was fast and friendly, and the food prices here are very reasonable. I ordered the vegetarian burrito with avocado and a matcha latte. My only complaint is the burrito was a bit dry and plain. I added lots of hot sauce which helped, but next time I'd probably try a different dish like their avocado breakfast. Well isn't this the most darling cafe I've ever seen!! Smith is a cafe inside the historic Smith Douglas More House in Eden Prairie. As you walk up, you feel like you've been transported to New England or Europe! Darling brick home with a stunning vine canopied patio and white picket fence. There is a parking lot :) We walked inside with jaws wide open - it's simply darling inside! You truly feel like you're inside a home, with cozy furniture and plenty of nooks and crannies to cozy up in and work or chat with your coffee and pastry. They have a coffee roasting machine onsite - so awesome! You can buy their beans in bulk. The service at the front counter was SO warm and inviting - it felt like we were having coffee in someone's home. We ordered a seasonal latte and an apple cider slushie, and both were divine. The old farmhouse is really neat but can be cramped and the patio is really cute. Their pour over and espresso are always top notch but I can't speak to the lattes. The food, however, is amazing. They bake all their carbs in house and everything tastes fresh and bright. The baristas are always friendly, even when it's insanely busy. Well, considering my review was deleted . . . I took another star. My son and I visit a new coffee shop or two every week and this was the worst coffee shop experience we've ever had. The atmosphere is stale and clinical with terrible table access. In order to use an outlet, my cord had to stretch across a walk way and the internet is slower than molasses in winter! I could barely load a webpage and that was the whole reason for our visit today. It's so slow I was not able to fulfill my mission, a simple upload of attachment and send the email. The drinks are terrible, my son ordered a large salted vanilla matcha and it had no flavor, only matcha. I ordered a large turmeric tonic which was described as turmeric & ginger tea with honey and lemon. It was powdered country time lemonade in hot water. There wasn't a lick of turmeric, ginger, or honey to be tasted. Their large is most coffee shop's medium. When the lady dropped off our drinks she took the order number so when they went to deliver our food, they couldn't figure out where it went. We watched her walk by 2-3 times but couldn't find us bc she took the number and the funniest part is the same lady who was dropping food is the same lady who took our number. They clearly need a new system as we watched them struggle to find another table and wandered around with their food. I had to go up and tell them they were walking around with our food . . . And that brings me to the food. It was definitely not it. My son got the breakfast burrito and it was decent but def not worth the money, that small burrito is $14. I ordered the Green Goddess Crunch and it had two small slices of avocado. For a sandwich that is a small side salad on bread, it should at least have more avocado. The bread is hard af and like chewing on a leather boot. It needs new bread. A side salad on shitty bread, $14. Lol. All in all this was a terrible experience on all levels and we 100/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND!! NEVERRRR should two coffees and two sandwiches cost $50! There's many tables, but it was a full house when we visited. We managed to find a spot in a corner near a window. I loved all the natural lighting here. I have been there twice now, and may continue to use the experience as a occasional treat to myself vs the chain stores. Both times it has been clean and the staff has always seem happy and patient. I came during a brunch hour and the parking was at a premium... be prepared for the cluster eff that is lack of parking. However, they have plenty of seating in and outside and your furry kids are welcomed outside on the yard - on a leash. My family checked out the pizza night on Thursdays for the first time last week and we had absolutely terrible service! I'm genuinely shocked. No one working was even remotely happy to be there. We waited so long for our food that my husband went to the counter to check and the guy said "oh yeah it's sitting in the window, someone should get it soon." We ordered beer when we ordered the pizza and the beer never came and after going up a second time to ask, no one would help me so I finally just asked a guy that clearly did not want to be talked to. He looked at me and said idk it's probably the beer that's been sitting here. The only reason for 2 stars instead of 1 is that the pizza was really good. Happened to be driving by this cafe when I was in the area. I was pleasantly surprised to see they had a parking lot so I swung in. The cafe is located in a historical building, and it's amazing. There's PLENTY of seating! There's outdoor seating that's surrounded by gorgeous flowers, perfect area to sit on nice day. I sat inside in a booth that was surrounded by beautiful stained glass.
