I'm a savory breakfast type-of-person so I ordered eggs Benedict for myself and strawberries cream pancakes for my kids. I fell in love with pancakes. They were moist, had a little bit of saltiness to them (I'm guessing from butter), so good even without syrup. On the other hand tho, the egg Benedict was dreadful. The hollandaise sauce seems to be the problem. Literally tasted like hospital food, 0/10 for the Benedict. I would also switch out the Canadian bacon for better quality. When we mentioned that we were going to share, he had the kitchen split the meals for us. It was a bit busy, but we were able to get tables outside immediately. They say to take a seat outside (where they have several benches and your name will be called on the loud speaker. They were spot on with the time and did announce that our table was ready. The menu consists of breakfast and lunch. There are a great number of choices. Although they have markings to indicate that dishes are gluten free or vegetarian, beware. When offering drinks, I asked about the kind of teas they had. Too bad they don't even have an herbal tea on the list. I ordered the thick bacon and eggs. The bacon was really good. The eggs were perfect. However, I asked about replacing the potatoes with the fruit. Because of allergies, I asked what kind of fruit they serve. I expected a surcharge to change to fruit. I was not told that there would be an extra surcharge to leave out my allergy fruit and go with only one kind. This was bad on the part of the server. They only had two choices of bread and no choice of gluten free bread. That severely limits the choices of someone sensitive to gluten. My husband ordered the Harvest Scramble. Luckily, they were able to leave out the green peppers. Interesting that so many dishes had green peppers in them. He enjoyed the eggs, but ordered the fruit, instead of potatoes. He said he would like the fruit mixture which had melons, pineapple and one blackberry. He ordered the wheat toast which he said was not memorable. All in all, we enjoyed the experience with a number of flaws. They need to tighten up their menu and make sure that people with special nutritional needs are attended to carefully. read more

We had brunch here on Mother's Day after spending the day at the zoo. It was very busy, we had to wait about 45min, but they had a lot of benches to sit on which was nice. This was my second time coming to Jensen's and I gotta say: I'm still a fan! There is a free parking ramp, go there to park :) We came on a very busy Saturday (definitely tells you the food is good!) My family and I decided to have breakfast on a Saturday early afternoon. Parking closest to the restaurant is limited, but there's also a free parking ramp not too far away. The wait was about 35-40 minutes to seat four people. Once seated, our waitress was on top of things the entire time--from drinks to taking orders and handling special requests. The food came out quickly and was fresh. The breakfast potatoes are so good! Again, our waitress stayed on top of everything, and we were out within 1.5 hours of being seated. Melissa does a fantastic job, super friendly, helpful with the menu, and a real professional at keeping track of orders, checking in, and clearing plates. They should clone her. This time we tried a mix of different items: the breakfast burrito, pigs in a blanket, enchiladas, and pancakes. It didn't take long for everything to come out, and all of it was hot, nicely presented, flavorful, and generous in portion size. (Last time I had the baked omelet, and that was a disappointment.) Been here a couple of times. It's one of our go-to breakfast places here. They are in a mixed use building, with a small lot in the back and then a ramp not too far away. This most recent visit we just had the sausage and eggs. Pretty standard - comes with breakfast potatoes and toast (white or wheat). You can also get fruit or cheesy hash browns for extra in place of the potatoes. We've also had the chorizo sausage and their pastries like their cinnamon roll. My wife and stopped in for a MLK Jr. Day breakfast as the kids were off elsewhere. We got in around 9 AM and it was a 20-30 minutes wait, but it was worth it. Our drinks were balanced and tasty. The food was well seasoned and tasted great, and the service was excellent. We even ordered a Caramel roll to go, we didn't realize until we got home we could feed the family with it. Every good town needs a trustworthy cafe for a weekend brunch and Jensen's is Burnsville's tried and true! Small parking lot outside, but we've been lucky to always find a spot when we've gone! Big dining room but fills up quickly on the weekends. Get there early or expect a small wait. We were lucky enough to snag a bar area high top on our latest trip! I was assisted by Grace, they provided perfect afternoon service, kept the water glasses filled and was helpful with recommendations. I arrived around 1:15pm and the place was busy but thankfully there was no wait and I sat in a booth. I had the garden scramble, with harvest toast, and cheesy hashbrowns $13.95. I also heard they make a yummy cinnamon roll and I have a sweet tooth so there was no way I wasn't ordering this as a starter. Coming from Atlanta I wasn't surprised by the $8.95 price and thought it sounded about right. Let me tell you, when Grace arrived with my caramel roll, I said, I only ordered one, she said I know, this is it. It was a mini loaf, I couldn't' believe my eyes. It was large enough to feed a family of 5! It was so delicious, soft and full of cinnamon and the perfect amount of sweetness. I want to have one delivered to my home in GA. If you are ever in the Minneapolis area or close to Bloomington drive to Burnsville and visit this casual café. The food was Amazing and affordable, this is very rare these days. We had a wonderful outdoor patio experience at Jensen's today! The staff are always friendly and patient despite our indecisiveness and many questions. We sat outside and although there was a moment of firetrucks and police sirens, the rest of lunch was very nice and relaxing. We decided on Biscuits and Gravy with Cheesy Hashbrowns, Kitchen Sink Scramble with Cheesy Hashbrowns and the Monte Cristo with Cafe Potatoes. I can only speak on the Monte Cristo because that's what I got, but from what I was told the Cheesy Hashbrowns are ridiculously good and both the scramble and biscuits n gravy were delicious! But that Monte tho!!! It's a must try, especially if you can't decide on something savory or something sweet. This dish offers both as it has a french toast like bread dusted with powdered sugar and paired with a berry dipping sauce. And then on the savory side, you've got a triple decker of ham, turkey and so much melty cheese. I got Cafe Potatoes with it and was surprised, I don't usually care for potatoes but the flavor of these made it hard to stop eating them... very addicting. I've only ever had the breakfast food here but I'd love to come back and try out their lunch/dinner menu. Located in a busy Burnsville area on a Sunday parking near the door wasn't easy but we took advantage of the parking ramp close by. I have been here on a weekday and could snap a spot in the lot. We were welcomed with a warm hello. It is a cozy spot with booths as well as tables and even though it was busy we were seated right away. Service was speedy but the waiter stressed we had as much time as we needed to make our decisions. I ordered the strawberries and cream waffle and it was delightful and very filling.
