While we enjoyed our food, it was frustrating to not be able to eliminate items that we didn't want in the Halo Bowls we ordered. We were told it was that way because it made it faster and easier for the cooks. The wait staff, particularly one boy, probably shouldn't be in the service industry, as he was not very friendly. Our waitress never came back to our table to see if everything was good. We had to flag her down when we were ready to order, but seemed annoyed that we interrupted her from what she was doing. We sat inside but there were several flies around us which was bothersome. The staff didn't seems to notice or care to do anything about it. The booth seats were uncomfortable as they had a board running across the middle back that stuck out when you leaned into it which caused you to basically sit upright and not press back against it. This was a great find when I am recovering from surgery and just wanted some yummy comfort food. I ordered the biscuit and gravy with over easy eggs, and a side of bacon. Being from the south, I do love my biscuits and gravy, and this did not disappoint. The biscuits are fluffy and tender, and taste like my grandmother's. The sausage gravy was rich and delicious with plenty of sausage pieces and just the right amount of thick, savory gravy. I ordered the side of bacon crispy, and it was, and the gravy comes in a container on the side. However, the hashbrowns topped with eggs, and the biscuit were together in one container while my bacon was in a smaller one. I didn't want sausage gravy on my hashbrowns or my eggs, but it was easy enough to swap the bacon and the biscuit and put the biscuit in the little container where I could cover it with gravy and devour it. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the bacon was nice and crispy (you check a box if you want it crispy) and the hashbrowns were very tasty. All in all, I highly recommend this spot near Eden Prairie, and I look forward to dining there in the future. read more

Absolutely incredible experience every time we eat here. The food is always excellent and the portions are massive so sharing is definitely an option, especially with kids. I always try something different since the menu has so much variety. This past outing I had the breakfast sandwich and loved it, but be warned the pimento cheese has a nice kick to it. The pillow pancakes, Hope's waffle and cinnamon roll waffle were equally as good. Love the drinks as well, all very good but I love the straight up black coffee. My dad and I went to the new Hope Breakfast Bar in Chanhassen for brunch, and it was amazing! We shared the banana bread pancakes, and they were absolutely fabulous--the best pancakes I've ever had. The service was super fast and super friendly, which made the experience even better. The space itself is light, modern, and welcoming, with lots of light wood that gives it a fresh vibe. It was definitely busy (clearly a popular spot already!), but we were still able to talk and enjoy our time comfortably. I was excited to try this place. I left extremely disappointed. I figured it would be busy but didn't get a reservation. That turned out to be a mistake. We got there and were told 25 min but figured that wouldn't be bad. Everyone else has reservations and we're seated right away. A group came in and they didn't have reservations and must have known the hostess because they were seated right away. There isn't a great place to wait but did notice how noisy it was. Once seated the noise level did seem to decline but the added sounds of the open kitchen just added more noise pollution. We were finally seated at a two top after the couple that was there said they had another person coming and got moved. We were given their table but it was never wiped down after they had been sitting there and ordered drinks. They also didn't change out the utensils and napkins so had to ask for new ones. Not off to a great first impression. We went to order drinks and was going to enjoy a simple grapefruit juice. I asked if it was freshly squeezed and the waitress kind of chuckled and shook her head "no." For $7 for a large it sure should. I opted for coffee and that turned out to be a waste too. My wife ordered a Maple Morning coffee. It tasted watered down, no maple and all cinnamon. Not good and not worth it. We chose savory breakfast items. The sandwich had a decent bagel but very fatter version of their ham. The fried cheese crisp didn't add anything. The pimento cream cheese found in many dishes is good in moderation. My scramble was ok. Again, pimento cream cheese can be overwhelming and be the only flavor. Neither of our hash browns were crispy. Just ok. My single slice of toasted bread was stale. It tasted like the loaf had been left out for a few days. It wouldn't have even been suitable for croutons. My coffee was $6 but the waitress didn't once bring over a refill or ask if I wanted more. It was basic church basement funeral coffee so I didn't feel like I was missing out on not having more but felt cheated at being charged as much as they did for a single cup. I really hope this place survives as Chanhassen needs more local places. If the prices and service are an indication I'm not too confident. If they are going to charge a premium price then they should execute beyond the expectations of guests. They certainly did not do that. read more

This is a great new addition to the hope. Breakfast bar lineup. I have been a fan for years now honestly, the only place I will go for my birthday breakfast. It is a casual place that still feels very cute and fun. The parking is so easy on the edge of a strip mall in the middle of Chanhassen. They are staying consistent with their look of all the other locations with the adorable egg salt and pepper shakers and the menu remains on point. My absolute favorite is the baby cake pancakes with a side of scrambled eggs. I love that they have so many different flavors to choose from when it comes to pancakes or lattes. And you will definitely find something you love here.. the servers are always kind and attentive. I adore. They're overall mission of trying to spread Hope. Each table has a card or you can write a prayer request that the will pray over. We could all use a little hope sometimes. read more

Our first experience at Hope Breakfast Bar. We were excited to try something new. After giving our name, we were told it'd be 15 minutes. Several people were seated. The two young hostesses screwed up and seated someone in our preferred table who came in after us. The girl said she seated the wrong people. No apologies! Not a great first impression. We got seated by the drink station and serving door to listen to glassware clinking and clanking most of our service. Head was spinning with servers walking past us non-stop. Non of which we would have had to contend with if they seated the right party. I ordered the FRIED CHICKEN & WAFFLE boneless buttermilk-brined chicken, buttermilk waffle, and jalapeño cream cheese syrup. I guess I was surprised to see the plate arrive with a skewered dense waffle and chicken strips. Not what the menu conveys. Suggest to avoid this. Wife ordered the Avocado Toast. She said the "pickling" was strong and that she would not order it again. But more interestingly, the fried avocados and chicken both tasted like mini donuts! I'd suggest they dedicate a fryer to their mini donuts to avoid cross contamination. We are miles away from the restaurant and all I can taste are mini donuts. No thank you goodbye from the hostess. I'd encourage some training for someone who is the face of your restaurant. Little engagement from the moment we entered. The staff here was really excellent! They were all so fast, friendly and attentive, and I really appreciated that. The ambiance and decor were also really pleasant, and I think that's a big reason why a lot of people come. As for the food though, I was a little underwhelmed. Granted, we only ordered some of the more interesting sweet options (maybe savory next time) - and they were definitely interesting - but they were also incredibly over sweet, so it was hard to enjoy them. So disappointed. We walked and put our name on the waiting list. They told us it would be a 30-45 wait. After an hour, they told us that reservations would be prioritized. And that we would not be seated until all the reservations were cleared. I understand reservations should have priority, but we should have been told this when we put in our name. After waiting an hour, they told us they had no idea when we would be seated. So we left. There is clearly a flaw in this process. I would suggest they take reservations for 80% of the restaurant and fill in with walk-ins. Or tell walk-ins it could be hours before they are seated. We ate at the Hope breakfast bar in North loop a few months ago. The food was fantastic. The communication and service at the Chanhasen location was extremely disappointing and wasted an hour of my day. If you go, be sure to make reservations. read more

Sunday morning breakfast, joint was jumping, glad I had a reservation, it was necessary. First thing I see after being seated was a table with an infant who were leaving. Not suprisingly, there were scrambled eggs all over the floor around the baby chair. I called the guy waiting on that table over and suggested he clean up the floor before the eggs got slipped on or tracked all over. He said yeah but during the next half hr did nothing, nor did the bus boy as the eggs migrated across the floor. Gross and something that would have been cleaned immediately, even at McDonald's. It was still there when we left. Ugg. My chili crunch bowl was very unremarkable, very bland (where was the garlic and chili crunch?). A big pile of al dente carrots, a bit of greens with 2 small slices avocado, a few pickle slices and eggs atop lukewarm rice. My"Vietnamese coffee" was a cinnamon latte. We were so glad to have this location open. The service has been good on our two visits - attentive but not overbearing. Both out our visits were on Sunday, before church services were out, and we were seated right away, however it was crowded with a wait after about 9:15 AM or so. As far as the food, my husband had the steak sandwich on the first visit and blueberry pancakes on the second. He said both were very good, and really liked how plump and fresh the blueberries were. I've had the McHope breakfast sandwich and the chicken & biscuit. My only complaint was that the hashbrowns were not very hot on the last visit. My husband and I are big fans of Hope Breakfast bar, and this was our first time going to the Chanhassen location. Our server, Justin, was on top of it, lively and energetic, accommodating, and kind! The food was delicious and came out (not kidding you) less than 10 minutes after we ordered.
