Basically, we liked it and will come back. That said, our first time there was a bit rough from an introductory point of view. We expected to be seated but waited a long time and nobody came to greet and seat. Someone was chatting and chatting and chatting with the gal at the cash register. She finally moved away and we were motioned up. After inquiring, we were told we should order there and pay, then sit anywhere we liked and someone would bring our food when it was ready. We also had the option of taking the menu to the table, coming back to the register to order, or using the table QR code to bring up the menu and order. We ordered at the register. The tables are close together so it was tough to get in and out. We realized we had to get our own coffee and even our own water. The food came out pretty fast, though, and was delicious. I loved my berry crepes. My husband felt the portion was small for his eggs and bacon, but good. People were nice, once settled the ambiance is fine, it's close to our house---and for all these reasons, we would come back again and probably find it easier now that we know the ropes. read more

I've been to the Minneapolis location before so I was excited to have a Berry Sweet Kitchen location closer to me! Whenever I go to a restaurant, I make sure to order what they are known for. The restaurant title says "Berry Sweet" so it's safe to say I ordered a sweet dish with berries. Enter the Banana French Toast: perfectly fluffy, flavor packed, and sweet - I absolutely loved it ! The syrup at the bottom is so unique and it really brings the French toast together, though it tastes amazing on its own. The bananas taste like they might be closer to plantains but I still loved the flavor. So tasty. We got hash browns on the side and although they are quite buttery, they were packed with flavor. I loved how crispy they were. My husband got the chicken and waffles which also had a ton of flavor. The chicken was cooked throughout and the breading was delicious. Lastly I got the fresh pressed orange juice. Huge serving, although it was $6.95 so it was justified. My husband got the mocha and I tried some of his and loved it. It was on the sweeter end - kind of like hot chocolate. It was pretty easy to order - just check out the menu and order at the front desk. The food came out within 10 minutes. We sat near the front and they had a greenery backdrop behind the bar and Bob Ross decor along with Bob Ross painting on a TV. I love Bob Ross and learned to paint from his videos, so it was a nice random touch! Can't wait to come back again and try more of the menu. Hello there ended up here on a whim. No need to make any orders related to "Berry Sweet Kitchen". That may even be a play on words. As all six of us agreed... Quite kind, friendly sweet entire staff. Here is what I pay attention to: Comfortable and friendly feel walking in the door. Green Plants plus a clean foyer, good impressions. Next an order taker -greeter waiting at door. ...to me, a retired restaurant manager of the long ago supper clubs, appreciated this is what the visit felt like today. Even the business owner came to our table to chat... Yep, we witnessed his humble approach. Good to be in a great restaurant. This location here only 9 months? They added to another same name, location in the cities. What matters? Bottom line, the food. Absolutely fair pricing as well as full plates. Chef is in the house, oh my gosh. This is an order at the counter place, get a number stick for your table, get your own water type of place. The food is brought to your table. Rhonda ordered a Mexican omelette. I ordered the 4 berry crepes. These had blackberries, blueberries, raspberries and strawberries in them with a whipped cream and small amount of jam inside. Very pretty and photogenic. I ate most and brought some home. The scone, I broke off some and microwaved 10 seconds for optimal taste. A 4% service fee is used if you pay by card. I paid in cash. I've been wanting to try this place and it's a whole different vibe from Mpls. It's always more fun to share an experience with fellow elite Michelle A. This is her area and we want to check it out for lunch as well. I suggested 8AM when they opened cause I bet it gets busy. I like the out of the way strip mall and it's the only restaurant. I love their Mexican omelets and my photo looks weird with only the squiggly white on top cause I can't take the heat of the hot sauce on top. The thick toast is a pain in the ass and I won't get it next time. The star for me was a nice 12 oz. orange juice. It was icy cold perfection. For almost $7 bucks it oughta be. I like the bright seating area. Not crazy about the counter ordering, but they're still very thorough. Can't wait for our second date but it will always be hard not to get that OJ. We always want to support a new business. So I was excited to try the new location in Apple Valley. Now that I've tried it, I will never go back. I will not take, "They are new and will make mistakes" as an excuse. First, the online ordering menu is a complete disaster as is the QR code method. They can't get it right. Even the hostess said, "We've had some issues". WTF. As a new business, it's up to you to make sure it works. Test it. Test it again and again until you can't get it wrong. I ordered the Eggs Benedict (I will review that shortly). It was supposed to come with pancakes/french toast. When you order, I selected chocolate chip as a topping but how does it know that I wanted pancakes rather than french toast? There's no option. What did they bring out? A side of chocolate chip...with my eggs Benedict. Are you kidding me? I told the server the app was a nightmare to use. Before you pay, it sends you a code to your cell. You get notification to your phone, you swipe on it, the app disappears. Now you have to start over. The eggs Benedict was average at best. The ham was razor thin, probably out of an Oscar Meyer container. The Hollandaise sauce was OK but it had a strange texture to it. The English muffin, I had to saw through with my fork. WTF. How old was the Muffin. The thick cut bacon, which was $8.50 was dried. Like they had it on a heat lamp in back. There was no grease on it. My daughter took one bite and put it down. She loves bacon. Her pancakes could have been pancakes out of a bag as far as I am concerned. Bill for two was nearly $40. Fool me once. Shame on you. Fool me, you can't get fooled again. The food was good don't get me wrong, but so many flaws in the work staff. Overheard conversations from workers talking about how they've done drugs and their experiences behind it. I'm sure it's not just me, but I'd rather not be thinking about wither someone is intoxicated or not when preparing my food. Would NOT recommend. Menu via QR code, ordered at counter. Got our own water and tea. Had to go back to counter to get condiments and spoons. Paid when ordered, and smallest tip option was 20%. Crepes were completely tasteless - absolutely NO flavor other than the whip cream they were served with. They were completely void of color - usually they have some brown from the griddle. These were off-white. Very unappetizing! There was no service other than them bringing us our food. The rest was self-service. Finally, it was very warm. I ordered that this morning and each half on the muffin had one razor thin round piece of ham that was so small you could not taste it. it was more like an egg sandwich with hollandaise sauce. We've been to Berry Sweet in Mpls prior several times, we live in Apple Valley and were so happy when our favorite breakfast spot came out our way! We finally went this weekend knowing our timing was bad, after church, mid-morning is a very busy time overall but we were pleasantly surprised. We pulled up and it did look overwhelming busy but when a girl wants French Toast we have to do what we have to do. So we went and stood near the door with about 7 other people. The super kind young lady at the ordering/check out counter nicely advised us not to order until we get a seat or if we want to get it to go, but did suggest a drink. I got my AMAZING specialty latte (vanilla, splash of lavender) Hubby got a Kona Big wave (after all basketball was being televised in 2 hours). As we are standing there one of the owners walks by as he's delivering some items to table and kindly lets us know should just be a couple minutes. As I glance I see a lot of people with empty plates and one empty seat at the bar so I take a seat, start chatting with the people next to me about how they LOVE the food. At that time the lady next to me says they are leaving so we can have their seats. (The wait total was 6 minutes) We ordered Berries and French Toast, Bacon and Chilaquiles which I ALWAYS have to get because it's phenomenal! The food was out and looking perfect in minutes- in the meantime we enjoyed watching the staff interact, so pleasant with one another, making the breakfast drinks, taking the orders, making the fresh cream for the kitchen/bar just inside the kitchen doorway. The owner was up working just as hard as everyone else yet so kind and taking the time to chat with us (he remembered us from Mpls location) My overall advice is GO! Try it, you'll be hooked and happy with any food decision because the entire menu is amazing! Go even if it looks busy, it is for a reason but the wait isn't that long. I believe you can never get mad at a restaurant for being too small, it's just much more delicious and successful than the owners anticipated! They will open up the patio with more seating soon to give a little more room and there's also a nice drive to Mpls straight north on 77N to 62E, exit, turn left and there ya are! Food was great. Prices were way too high. Ordering was a mess. You have to get your own coffee, water, and probably other things. You go to a restaurant to get served so you can have a break. A side of Bacon was $8+. What? The employees were nice, but there wasn't much service they had to do for the customer. Whoever the owners are that decided to come up with this way of service, may want to rethink it. My husband and I thought that maybe we had to wash our own dishes too. I have been going to BSK as long as they have been open. I can't say enough good things about the place. I recommend the signature Berry Sweet Crepes and the Banana French Toast. I usually get a birthday cake there each year. It's always a delight. If I am really lucky the owner will make it herself. Each bite makes me think there is a God. Two thumbs up for Mariana (spelling?). She runs the place. She works hard and you can see she treats her employees with respect. She'd be the perfect boss IMO. Sometimes she pokes fun at her hard working husband with an eye roll or droll jab. It's a good laugh. He's a great sport but don't be fooled. He works equally as hard and brings a lot of good energy to the restaurant. Because of his work, she can create exceptional food. Her pastries could rival any French Cafe. We are lucky to have BSK in our quiet, unpretentious neighborhood. I did notice a change recently that I didn't expect. The butter in my togo order was a pre packaged butter that didn't compare with the usual house made whipped butter. I hope this was an exception or maybe a togo thing. I expect when this crazy inflation is under control, that house made butter and syrup to be the norm again for togo orders. Still it's the greatest restaurant around. Entered Hungry, Left HANGRY! My mother and I ordered the hamburger and fries. My husband ordered steak and pancakes. My husband enjoyed the pancakes and hashbrowns. The steak had was bland with no flavor. The hamburgers were prepared with sauteed diced onions and pickles. No flavor very bland, yet the fries were over seasoned. When the manager stopped by I asked that he take my full plate of food and shared I did not like it. He took off with the plate total avoidance, no acknowledgement. Did not even to attempt to give a refund for a full plate of food. We ended up taking the hamburger off my mom's bun and boxing it with the steak and eggs to take to our dog. The manager had the nerve to tell us come again. Absolutely, delirious. We will never return to this establishment and going through my mom's bank to dispute the charges as we did not enjoy our meals. My husband did not enjoy the steak. With that said, BEWARE - You pay for your food before you receive it and there is an option to add a tip. It was my nieces birthday and went here to celebrate her birthday. She was very enthusiastic to come for the first time yet they treated her very poorly. We were excited to try out a new local business yet they disappointed us so much. I didn't even take a step in the store EVER. My niece asked for a table for 10 and there were already 5 with her. They rudely told her that everyone had to be there. Regardless they still sat her down at a table. After a couple minutes the waiter rudely told her obnoxiously that she has 5 minutes until the rest of the family comes because a large group of white people came. Mind you we are Hispanic. They could have said it in a more respectful manner yet they came off as harsh. We went to IHOP down the street in which they treated us with much respect and attended us in such a loving way.
