This place was so cute and homey! We stopped for lunch and loved the atmosphere. The menu had a variety of very savory selections from sandwiches to soups to coffee and sweets! If you're vegan, vegetarian or need GF options, this is a perfect spot for you! The service was very friendly and collaborative - meaning we were offered great hospitality from all of the staff members. There are additional seating in the back of the restaurant and it was quite roomy. We really enjoyed the food and experience! We will definitely come again when in the area! Quick tips: - You order in front and will seat your party once everyone has ordered. This may have caused some bottlenecks in the line but we got there when it wasn't as busy. - Your food items will be delivered to your table. - Their hot chocolate and coffee drinks were so delicious! - Their cookies and treats are also a must try! read more

Visited Watershed with some friends for dinner. They have a back area for extra space so we were seated there. They had water already on the table which is a plus! Note that you have to order here before being seated. Not too bad but does put the pressure on to order quickly so you can be seated before others. I went with the turkey melt and upgraded to fries and my partner got a turkey club with a fries upgrade. Together, this meal totaled just over $40 (no extra drink, we got waters). I feel bad giving a low score because of this but I do have to mention that the prices feel much higher than the quality of the food. Yes, we added fries instead of chips which might be the cause for the higher prices, but you can get two well made burgers for less than this so it doesn't feel justified. Additionally, the food was good but not great. My tuna melt lacked a bit of flavoring and only tasted of mayo. Normally this would be fine for me but not when I paid above average for my food. This really is a nice restaurant and in an area that doesn't have too many of those. Our waitress was very attentive (almost too attentive) and the service was good but I don't think I'd choose to visit again. read more

My wife and I wanted to get a little more riding in before the season comes to an end, so we decided to take the motorcycle up to Osceola and grab dinner at The Watershed Cafe. When we arrived, the area was packed, and there wasn't a single open parking spot within a few blocks. Thankfully, we were on the motorcycle, so we found a place to park right away without any issues. When we first walked in, a gentleman greeted us and was ready to take our order, but we learned by looking at the menus at the front counter that dinner service didn't start until four o'clock. We decided to take a short walk around town, enjoy the scenery, and then come back once they started serving dinner. After returning, we realized the restaurant has a slightly different setup, you place your order at the front counter, and then one of the servers seats you and brings anything else you might need once your food comes out. I ordered the herb roasted chicken, a farm-raised and seasonally inspired dish that came with freshly prepared sides broccolini, mushrooms, and carrots and seasoned potatoes. My wife went with the Peterson steak, made from Peterson Craftsman Meat, served with seasoned potatoes and a mix of vegetables that included broccolini, mushrooms, and carrots. The food was excellent, packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. It was the kind of meal that makes you want to shake the chef's hand and thank them for the experience. The restaurant itself had a nice atmosphere, plenty of seating inside, and even a patio for when the weather's nice. Overall, we were very impressed and plan to come back soon to try more items from their menu. read more

Order at the counter and then they will seat you. My husband thought the Turkey Club was okay but nothing special. The Wisconsin Board offered locally made sausage but it was just sausage stick and not very good. The board was bland. I asked for some fig jam and that made it much better. My husband added some to his Turkey Club and said it was a big improvement. An okay place but nothing special. Service was very good. read more

We were in the area and with the help of ChatGPT we found the Watershed Café. It's a great place. You order the food at the counter and then they escort you to a table. Great ambience great service and good food. It was a little more expensive than I would've anticipated. The food was really good. I had the Reuben and fries, my wife had a quiche. My son had a pulled pork sandwich w/ the mac-n- cheese, and his girlfriend had a cheeseburger with fries. Everyone enjoyed their meal. It's a great place and if we are ever in the area, we'll be back. Fries are especially good. The service is really good, the location is scenic, next to the falls in the trails. read more

This place is so cute, and popular. There was definitely a wait, but we were not in a rush and wanted to eat here. Mainly they have soups, salad and sandwiches and lots of options. They make their potato chips in house too. We all liked our sandwiches. We sat on the back porch which is a stunning view with waterfalls and a river. They also have indoor seating too. read more

I've been wanting to check out the watershed for sometime now and today ended up being the day! There was a line out there door so I suppose that's a good sign. It was a bit of the wait but the food and service was great. We were able to dine outside which was great on this perfect day. We ordered the Wisconsin board to share - cheeses, sausages, grapes, nuts, strawberries, apple slices and berries it was delicious. The tomato basil soup was delicious but a different more brothy base than I'm used to, the Cobb salad was filling and delicious with crisp fresh greens. We all enjoyed the pastries as well. The staff was super friendly and attentive, we had a really great time. (Hopefully no one else reviews from their POV of us loud obnoxious girls out and about away from our kids for two hours haha tearing the place down during lunch) read more

Congestion at register. You read the menu off of a couple chalk boards. That takes time to decide. Line backs up and anyone who needs bathroom has to go thru standing line waiting to order. Pay at register before being seated. They ask for tip not knowing the type of service I will be getting at table. At table they brought warm water. On servers return asked for ice water. Order was wrong for 2 people at table. Sorry I gave them a tip. Not again. Over priced read more

This restaurant has THE BEST freshly made food outside the twin cities!!! Their entrees and sandwiches are delicious and healthy! Impressive menu for a small town "Cafe". I was a little confused; it's an informal spot with expensive food items. It's order at the counter service, but you're able to order a 10oz steak. Also, not just any steak, a $30 steak. Annoyingly, they don't have the prices on the menu blackboard behind the counter so you have to ask the host the cost for every item (which is awkward). The food was better than expected. The dressing for the Caesar salad was very light, I was hard to taste and required a lot of manipulation to spread it evenly on every leaf. The maple glaze duck was pretty good! However, In some spots it was a little dry. read more

The WaterShed Cafe After a few years of wandering around Osceola, WI, I decided to return to the Watershed Cafe for dinner. Completely renovated, it's a very pleasant experience to visit and enjoy the view and the location. On the other hand, if you want to enjoy a small French restaurant without having to travel far, but still enjoy the scenery of the Wisconsin hills, welcome to the Watershed Cafe. You'll also enjoy good food and good drinks. An excellent wine and cocktail list. After appreciating the excellent service and dedication, enjoy a walk through the beautiful scenery of Wilke Glen and Cascade Falls. From the soups to the bakery, everything is appetizing. I recommend the Peterson Steak Selection. Absolutely French. The personalized and professional service makes a visit to this little culinary paradise even more appealing. So, why spend a fortune traveling to Paris when you can have it in Osceola? Enjoy... See you next time... read more

The food is usually good. We live an hour away so I tried to call to ask if they currently had a particular item in stock, their sour cherry pie so I could save quite a bit of time 2 hours both ways. Called at least a dozen times...no answer went to voice mail then disconnected me no option to leave message either. So I drove all the way there went inside and had to ask in person if they had the pie today I was looking for. The young woman behind the said no just blueberry today. I said OK. Then I told them I tried to call a dozen times and no one answered. Then this hipster want to be behind the counter says "We DONT ANSWER THE PHONE WHEN WE ARE BUSY" in the most rude response ever. I told him I don't live close and wanted to save time. He tried to defend his lame uneducated response and said we are right and you are wrong again in an insolent tone that any smart owner would have fired on the spot. Then he started yelling at me because he doesn't know how to talk to people because he's not socialized to be kind or friendly. Just to let you know from the moment I walked in there were four twenty something workers standing at the counter with their thumbs you know where staring at the customers like a deer in headlights doing absolutely nothing all looking able to answer a phone call. I hate unprofessional service people. I love a great career server who understands the source of their paycheck and livelihood. There is NONE of this here. Table service is definitely hit or miss. This young man at the counter needs his career redirected ASAP. Anyone over 40 would be upset with how arrogant crass and disrespectful this young man is. I hope you don't need to deal with him. If he worked at my business he would be looking for work today! read more

Very disappointed by our experience at Watershed. Customer service was unprofessional, unkind, and it felt like our group was an inconvenience. We came in wanting to support a local place and were treated very poorly by the workers behind the counter. They were not helpful and talked in demeaning ways to multiple people in our group. The bus boys were great and very personable, but the others, not so much. Food was tasty, but unfortunately, our experience was tainted by the disrespect given by some of the workers. read more

I could not believe how good the food was! I was so surprised to find such a great place for lunch in a small town. The watershed has a good size menu for breakfast lunch and everything in between. While the food and ambiance are excellent, the service I received was not professional. After ordering and checking out at the counter, I presented a gift card only to be told that there was some issue and they were not able to accept gift cards that evening. Something about a mechanical issue with their register/computer?? The staff member first asked if I wanted to cancel my order. Then, he stated that they had problems all day due to the issue. No offer was made to take the gift card and handle it on their end at a later time. No offer was made to provide us with some other concession for the problem they caused us. Since I had guests, I was not about to cancel the order. It was definitely an inconvenience and the staff member appeared to not really care about our experience. I submitted a comment immediately after. No reply. I sent an email a couple days later. No reply. I'm struggling now to think about actually using my gift card. Very unprofessional! read more
