This is the kind of old fashioned home cooking style diner where the server comes by and immediately fills a coffee cup. Daily specials written on the wall such as pork roast, liver and onions, roasted turkey, meatloaf and chicken fried steak. However, they do have all the current restaurant favorites like various breakfast dishes, hamburgers, enchiladas, etc. We stopped in on a Sunday morning. It was packed. Definitely a locals spot filled with everyone from families, seniors and even road construction crews. The restaurant is definitely older and even has an old style dessert display case. I didn't catch our servers name but she was very friendly and efficient. Considering how busy it was she never left us wait for service and consistently filled coffee and water glasses. I ordered the eggs Benedict with hash browns. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the hash browns were nice and crispy. I felt the hollandaise sauce was a bit heavy and I didn't really taste that light and lemon flavor you usually get with hollandaise sauce. But, overall a tasty breakfast dish. My husband ordered eggs over hash browns with a cheddar cheese sauce. He said it was good but the sauce definitely rich and heavy. Not much flavor. The server leaves the check on your table and you pay up front at the register. Overall we liked the breakfast experience. We may stop in again and check out one of their dinner type specials. read more

If you just want to get filled up, it's fine. Just don't look for flavors or anything. The staff I have encountered are all very nice.

Great small town atmosphere! Greeted upon entering with a warm friendly approach. Restaurant is decorated in Coca- Cola vintage style. Clean! The list of variety with specials posted both dinner and breakfast! All homemade with a wide variety of choices! Huge portions of food! Delicious sour dough bread toast. Great hometown restaurant with everything you could want on the menu. Also the decor is coca cola themed! We got a butterscotch milkshake which was made to just the right consistency, not to runny so that you could still use a spoon to eat it. We also got a california burger which was a standard burger. I got a side salad which was huge and loaded with shredded cheese. This could definitely keep you full. I also ordered the wild rice bread because it was something I hadn't seen on a menu before. The bread had a great flavor, but I forgot to say no butter, so the butter absorbed into most of the bread and took over the natural flavor. read more

The food and the service here were outstanding. We liked it so much we came two days in a row. We preferred the raspberry french toast over the blueberry; it was lighter. The blueberry version seems to be made of banana bread with blueberries. Our party also had some kind of amazing south western burrito. Thumbs up all around. It's always fun to use Yelp to help us find new places to eat. New Frontier is kind of nondescript from the outside, but inside has a Coca Cola theme. It is clean and the staff is friendly, but the layout is s little strange which might make it uncomfortable when they're busy. The menu was vast, with a large specials menu in addition to the regular menu. The desserts menu was just as big and I would've liked to have tried one or two, but it was breakfast. We both had the hash browns supreme with eggs. It was delicious. read more

We had dinner here when we were visiting for a conference at the casino. The waitress was friendly and efficient, the food was delicious and we enjoyed the vintage Coca-Cola theme. We dined here last weekend & other than the service being friendly, it missed the mark on all accounts. We had to wait awhile to be seated because the staff needed to clean a table. When we sat down there was still candy wrappers on the table & it was sticky to the touch. We had small kids (with short attention spans) but had to wait 15+ mins to get our order in. When the food arrived, there were several mistakes (no whipped cream instruction & we got a waffle covered in cream, steak was not the size we ordered, etc). I was also surprised by the cost of the food, considering it's a diner in rural WI - the prices are what I'm used to paying in MPLS for brunch. Admittedly the options are very limited, but this is not a place to be sure to try. read more

We had a party of four doing lunch here over the weekend. We ordered the works burger, two shrimp baskets, and chicken fingers basket. Bread pudding for dessert. CONS: - Shrimp tasted like it was made in the same fryer/batter as the fish, just didn't seem to have the shrimp taste... - The Works burger was great. The bacon was awesome. Other than that the food was good but not outstanding, pretty basic. Good place for kids with something for everyone. We have a summer place in Turtle Lake and this has quickly became my kids favorite breakfast spot. Small town atmosphere, good people, and more food on the plate than you could finish. My personal favorite is the Eggs Benedict or the southern biscuits & gravy, but my kids love the Frontier Omelet. read more

Stopped for breakfast on our way back to Minneapolis. Don't judge this place from the outside. It was delicious! Super small cafe with tons of character and small town feel. The wait staff was really friendly and attentive. Totally recommend this place over Turtle Lake casino restaurant. Hubby had the Eggs Benedict and said it was very tasty. At the cabin this weekend and needed to find a breakfast spot that was close, so we stopped by. Got their "Frontier stacker" which was decent, but really nothing to write home about. Hashbrowns that weren't crispy, even when requested. Way too much gravy over the sausage, eggs, and biscuits. Not terrible though. Pretty standard diner fare. The service was a bit slow, but the staff was friendly and apologetic when it took awhile to get our checks. Overall, not bad, not great. I'd probably give it another shot sometime. read more

My wife and I stopped for breakfast around 10 am as breakfast is served all day, and upon entering, were told to just seat ourselves anywhere we wished. We found a table and began to wait for some service - finally the waitress came by and asked if we wanted coffee which we stated we did, she said she would be right back with it. We waited until we realized that she had forgotten about us and finally when she went to a table she had just served and then came over and poured each of us a cup of coffee and took our order. I had 2 eggs, hash browns and toast - wife had bowl of chili - we waited for what seemed a long time during which we never got a refill of coffee! Finally, the order arrived and once again she said she would be right back to refill our cups - long story short, we had completed our meal, and when she brought the check, we then asked if it might be possible to have a refill. I said nicely that I was disappointed that we did not get refills during the meal and not have to wait until the meal ended, to which she replied "well I have both sides to take care of and wait on" (which I really didn't feel affected us as I thought we were the customers!) Her attitude continued to develop even stronger and I asked if she worked for tips - I wanted to remind her that TIPS was an acronym from the 1930's which stood for TO INSURE PROMPT SERVICE -but I didn't. Both my wife and I worked jobs for tips before and we are understanding but NOT when the waitress decided to display arrogance to us. I went up to pay the bill and after giving me my change, she said sarcastically, "thanks for the tip" which then prompted me to ask for the manager, and she informed me through was seemed like clenched teeth that she was the manager! I told her that if we were going to pay $2.70 for 2 bottomless cups of coffee to which we got one serving and then the other AFTER the meal was finished maybe she should make sure they had enough personnel to adequately serve their customers! We spent close to $14.00 which isn"t a fortune but still should have received polite service. If we would have known we were going to be treated like that, we could have gone across the street to the Casino and had a breakfast buffet for a lot less money with good service! I have been a customer at Frontier for over 15 years, and at least a change of ownership at least 3 times, place even burned down once, but this will be the very last time I will ever be a customer there.
