We came in for dinner while visiting friends on nearby Pipe Lake. Definitely a spot for regulars who own cabins on the nearby lakes. It was very crowded. First, the staff was outstanding. Despite being absolutely packed, we were sat almost immediately. Every staff member was super friendly and attentive. It was our friend's birthday and they brought a dessert and sang happy birthday. It was a Friday night Fish Fry. Since I don't eat fish, I ordered the cheeseburger and fries. I'm a picky burger eater. I expect them to be cooked to temperature. Our friend said this is not the type of place that cooks to order. Regardless if they had the temperature right or not, I couldn't tell. It was very juicy and delicious! Tasted medium to me! The fries were hot and crispy. The fish and chips were delicious according to our friends as was the chicken salad. Everyone loved their meals. Best service and food!! Only complaint... they are not open every day!! Our food was hot and delish!! The cost was normal, during a time when everything is so overpriced, it was a pleasure to eat out and not have sticker shock. Broasted Chicken was so juicy, flavorful, crispy coating, just perfect! BEST staff out there, very family oriented. The County Line is a family owned and operated business! From the cook, to the bartender, to even the dishwashers- everyone was family! It's hard to find a business like that! The first time I attended the County Line I ate a burger called "the county line burger." TO DIE FOR! Along with that I ate Kim's HOMEMADE french onion soup. Stopped in to watch the Twins and had a great time and really great meal. They always have had a solid fish fry but I had the chicken and was not disappointed. Perfect crispy chicken that was super tender and moist. The breading is spot on and all pieces had plenty of meat. The mashed potatoes and gravy were as good as grandmas and coleslaw very tasty. It's Labor Day weekend at the cabin, instead of making dinner we decided to head-out for dinner. We arrived at the tavern around 5:10 and the parking lot was packed! Ughh, with two little ones who are starving we ventured in anyway. Put our name in for a table of four and we were told we would be seated in approx 20 minutes....no problem...40 minutes later we were seated...yikes. The hostess seemed a bit frazzled, but the general layout of the restaurant/bar made for confusion for patrons. We ordered as soon as we were seated (we had plenty of time to checkout the menu) at 5:50 as time ticked by still no food....as 6:45 approached we asked our server how our food was coming along? Her reply "ohhh it's going to be awhile-did ya order da fish?". Umm "no chicken" she came back literally two minutes later with our food....really!? The broasted chicken was very good along with the mashed potatoes and cole slaw. I would definitely come back. For thos of you thinking "broasted"...what is that (I wasn't familiar either)? Broasting is a trademark applied to a method of cooking chicken and other foods using a pressure fryer and condiments. The technique was invented by L.A.M. Phelan in the early 1950s and is marketed by the Broaster Company of Beloit, Wisconsin, which Phelan founded. The method essentially combines pressure cooking with deep frying chicken that has been marinated and breaded. The result is the chicken is said to be crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, i.e., like traditional fried chicken but less greasy. Another advantage of broasting over deep-frying is that large quantities of chicken can be prepared more quickly, 12-13 minutes instead of 20. Easy 5/5 Breakfast is no more then $6. Lunch, Burgers are excellent and the service is awesome. The bar tender( Owner Dennis ) remembers me and my other half when we only show up 3 times a year. Great place for a family dinner when at the cabin. There is a large yard and playset in the back for kids to play while adults can enjoy a break. The food was delicious, we had a bacon burger, Philly cheesesteak, fried shrimp, broiled and fried fish and all 5 of us loved our meal. Great service too! Excited to go back... Yum! read more

We really loved both the hometown atmosphere and the great food. My husband and I both ordered their Friday fish fry - and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Of course we had to try their cheese curd appetizer and we were impressed because this was the only place that didn't have a breading on the curds... excellent! The County Line Bar sits in the country, near a few cabin-filled lakes. They offer pool, drinks (of course), video games, and some seating for those that would like to dine. Outdoors is a newly constructed patio and pavillion for patrons to use. The owner is very friendly, as is most of the wait staff. They tend to get a little more frazzled when it is busy (like on a holiday or busy weekend), but you will always get good food. Most people claim the County Line Bar as the place to go for pizza, however, they also have good chicken, sandwiches, soups, steaks, fish etc. The atmosphere is good, and compared to other bars in the area, they tend to draw a friendlier crowd. read more

Two Saturday nights in a row....we waited/wasted over 1 1/2 hours for food. The dark haired waitress was nasty. Absolutely nasty! Two weekends ago I was with my entire family, sister, brother, Dad, Mom, hubby, inlaws and nieces. She lost a VERY good tip. No doubt in my mind she told the other reviewer where to "stick" something. She ruined our evening, and trust me....it's pretty impossible to ruin a night out with my family. We are a very fun loving group. But she essentially yelled/snapped at us 3 times, rolled her eyes countless others...she was just nasty, nasty, nasty. As far as the food, deep fried fish is white on the exterior. I sent mine back because in parts it was actually cold. I was afraid to send it back not knowing when I would get any food and was obviously starved by then, but there was a quick turnaround on it.....result? White exterior on the deep fried fish. Pizza at our table? Same color...no browning of the cheese and in some areas the pizza was also cold. Nasty. Steaks at our table? Tough and gristly. Prices are good. So I recommend going if you like abusive servers, endless waits for terrible food at an affordable price...this is the place for you. read more

We owned a cabin near the County Line for 15 years. It was absolutely our favorite place to go eat. We always went Friday night. Even at home which is 2.5 hours away we wish we were at the cabin so we could go to the CL. We love the food and the staff. We have NEVER got food that was anything but fantastic. So I am really confused about some of these posts where they say their food wasn't absolutely awesome. That must have been a fluke. We must have eaten there 30 times a years and never had a bad experience. We are always welcomed with open arms and love all the staff. We do miss Sue who was always behind the bar with her son Jeff. I've frequented this place for more than 20 years, but after waiting 60 minutes for three Saturday Night dinner specials tonight, then having the server try to hook me for the tab for food I finally decided I had given up waiting for, then having the server tell me to stick my tip up my ass (I tipped 15% of the bar tab - you know, the part she got right and therefore INSISTED I pay for), I will never spend another dime in this place again. Too bad, because the food is good and reasonably priced. But really, there's no way 3 specials take 60 minutes from order in to order up. read more
