I've been coming to Stillwater for years and only learned of this place when I did a search for "coffee near me". It's located right inside the Valley Bookseller towards the back. Seating is reasonably generous with more seating on the patio facing the river. I'd say the coffee is typical coffee shop fare , no big surprises here. However, the atmosphere definitely has a local (owner-operator vibe) and proximity to Lowell Park and Main Street can't be beat. They also have some pastries and a modest breakfast menu if you need a bite with your brew. I'll definitely remember this place next time I am in Stillwater and would recommend it to others as well. read more

Just swinging through Stillwater and wanted to get a coffee shop drink to go on a Saturday morning. Daily grind is easy to get to with plenty of parking. The line was long and the place was full, but things moved quickly. I ordered a hot chai tea latte and asked if there was anything they could do to spice it up... they said they could add cayenne! They did and it was fantastic. We were on the move so didn't experience the ambiance, but we did note that there was an outside patio with a great view of the river. Would be lovely to lounge on a warm summer day. read more

Daily Grind has decent coffee and very good Bakery and excellent food offerings. Next to a bookstore and has a great deck. Service, however is much to be desired. Things are fine when management is present. but when the young people are running the place unsupervised it's a different story. They have this extremely unacceptable habit of shutting down the grill whenever it gets "too busy", or apparently just because they feel like it. Repeatedly over a period of weeks I have been told that they've shut down the grill and there's no food. This is no way to run a business. Once when they told me the grill was shut down I asked what their normal closing time was. She said 2 or 3:00, but the current time was 12:30! And they were not busy either. In short, if you go there to eat, there's no guarantee you're going to get anything. My most recent visit there will be my last. Wehad to wait, ignored. for about 3 minutes while the two young ladies chatted. Then she says the grill is shut down. When I said "Again?!", she told me " Fine go away!, and shood me and my guest away! Mind you I have been a regular customer there for about a decade and I know she recognizes me. The rudeness was shocking to me and very embarrassing since I had a guest with me. I have contacted them twice to get an explanation, and have been ignored. thus I am going public with my opinion. I will miss going to this place which I have patronized and recommended for a long time, but this was the last straw. read more

I had the LB Butterfinger Frozen drink and it was good, nothing crazy. The coffee shop is on the small side, there is some seating inside and some outside. Gives classic little coffee shop vibes. The baristas were nice, unfortunately they don't take Apple Pay but that's a small thing. read more

Stumbled upon this coffee shop after Tin Bins up the road closed. Very quaint, tucked in the back of the book store, you likely wouldn't know it was there if it wasn't for the big "Coffee Here" flag at the parking lot entrance. Not a large space, so expect to be a little cramped while waiting. The coffee here was excellent. If you're looking for a speciality coffee that isn't the run of the mill chain stuff from Sbux or the Bou, this is a great place to find something new and different. I tried the Buttery Irishman, which, if my memory is correct, was a latte with butterscotch and Irish cream. The hubs tried the Nutty Irishman, which was Irish cream and hazelnut. My husband and I came for breakfast and coffee to go and ended up loving our food and drink and also checking out the book store adjacent. My Carmel oak milk latte was super creamy and not too sweet, just perfect! The breakfast burrito with crispy bacon was cooked perfectly and very filling. I loved the rich flavor of the scrambled eggs and hefty portion of shredded cheese! My husband's sausage breakfast sandwich was equally well prepared, just smaller in portion than the the burrito. Very nice staff and great coffee and food. We'll be back for sure! read more

When I order coffee at a place for the first time a sudden feeling of disappointment enters when I'm handed an empty cup and told to serve myself in the corner with airpots lined up. No, it's not that I'm too lazy serve my own coffee it usually means older, lukewarm brews. The French Roast at the grind was not a hardy dark roast or perhaps it was too old and lukewarm to tell. There is a beautiful selection of fresh pastries including breads which are generally hard to find. This shop is behind a bookstore and faces the historic bridge and Lowell Park. There is a nice deck outside or we could take a short walk to the park for more scenic seating. There is indoor seating and the shop is clean and compact. Granted the barista work area is small but if they are going to try keep multiple brews in airpots they have to keep the product fresh and served hot. read more

I stopped by here yesterday morning with my wife for our morning coffee. We arrived to the daily grind at shortly before 10 AM to find the place hopping. Daily Grind has a coffee flag on Main Street to help you find its location near the river. It actually shares a space with a bookstore and you can freely walk between the two even if the bookstore requests you pay for merchandise before going into the coffee shop. Daily Grind has a small outdoor area that overlooks the river as well as some seating indoors as well. It's not a large space though and with a little less than 20 people inside on the day that we were there, it felt crowded. In any case I decided to order an Americano on this morning while my wife went with an iced Americano. She liked hers because it was strong but I wasn't a huge fan of mine. Yes it was smooth without any bitterness at all but I didn't really care for for the finishing taste of the coffee. The bottom line for me is that I might stop by here again in the future. While I didn't necessarily enjoy my coffee, my wife did. read more

I hung out here for a bit on a Saturday evening. It's pretty small tucked into the back of a bookstore. They offer made-to-order food and cafe drinks. There were two baristas while I visited and they were both very nice and charismatic. I asked if I should do the Odin blender or mango smoothie and decided on the smoothie because the Odin was made with ice cream. They were very receptive to my dairy free needs and made it easy to order. The smoothie was freshly blended and refreshing. The cafe sitting area could be cleaner and sharper but they were a busy place. It's also very loud for being in a bookstore... Small and cramped but it offers a great view of the river and has a deck. I'd stop by again if I needed to. read more

Relocation ended up being a union between a bookstore and a coffee shop. Kind of like Caribou and Barnes and Nobel on Ford Parkway once was except a Target express has replaced it. But this is beautiful downtown Stillwater and it's an independent bookstore. This combination makes up for the beautiful setting it had at the old location, and a smaller seating area. There will be authors here, and the new Authors After Hours kicked off this month with Jess Lourey. This theme is fiction and non mysteries, because there's plenty of mystery themed events around this town. After hours, as in closing time is at 7PM. I had a very sweet hot chocolate, and a bite of a raspberry white chocolate that was delicious. Basil loved his mocha. Comfortable seating and the deepest toilet I've ever encountered, and the flusher is on the wall. read more

My husband and I stopped in today and I must say, this will be our coffee go-to when we come to Stillwater! Their chocolate sauces don't have dairy, which is awesome because we're both allergic - we were still able to enjoy chocolatey coffee drinks at this coffeehouse! I had a frozen grinder (their take on a Frappuccino) with dark chocolate and peanut butter, and my husband had a mint chocolate mocha. The only thing that could've been better, according to my husband, was if his had been a little more minty in flavor! Also, they have both almond & soy milk. We'll definitely be back! read more

I wanted to like this place. I really did. It's in a beautiful location near the river, great spot for people watching by the river and even in an independent bookstore. But I couldn't. We should have had a heads up when the patio, on a gorgeous day on 4th of July weekend was empty. The coffeeshop looks clean and inviting, and the pastries in the window case looked yummy. But the coffee is weak. I had an Americano and it tasted like a very weak, bland drip roast. My husband had a hot chocolate, and another person in our party had a mocha. They were all practically flavorless. I hope they consider changing out their brand of espresso. I think with a better product, this place could be hopping. We didn't finish our drinks and wound up walking to the Co-op and their brewed $1.00 small coffee immediately had that great aroma and tasted like it should. read more

One of my favorite coffee places in Stillwater! The Naughty Norwegian is probably my favorite drink on the coffee menu but anytime I have drank their various coffee brews they are always awesome. We also love their breakfast items, there's just a few things where you can choose between scrambled eggs and toast or a breakfast sandwich or burrito with ham sausage or bacon as the proteins- they are incredibly delicious! They also have great patio space where you can sit outside and look at the river while you drink your coffee, every time I go to Stillwater I come here for my java fix:) read more

I ordered a 16oz soy chai latte from a sweet girl. I got 8oz of a poor tasting, luke warm beverage and 8oz of foam. Unfortunately, I was in my car before I tasted the beverage and looked inside the cup so the Daily Grind did not have an opportunity to "make it right". However, this was my third visit and the prior two visits were almost as unsatisfactory. Too bad. I like to support local businesses and love downtown Stillwater but I need to look elsewhere for a better drink. read more
